Works well
I bought these shears to shear 4 sheep that we own to keep the grass in our paddock down. They’re still lambs, less than a year old and aren’t meant to be shorn until they’re 2 years old but with the heat and drought we thought we’d shear them early. They seem a lot happier. I’ll say at the outset that I have never sheared a sheep before. Watched all the videos on YouTube as prep and got stuck in. Yes, the shears are heavy but not sure what else you would expect? Sheep wool is thick and waxy. This is not lady- or man-parts territory. Except in some parts of Wales. And wielding the shears is the least of your worries with a highly agitated sheep trying to kick you in the lady- or man-parts. The shears worked well. No nicks or cuts. Think about how you’re going to manage the cord – after hog-tying ourselves and a few of the sheep, we hooked it over a rafter in the shed roof which kept it out of the way. Using the right oil is really important. Buy some cutting oil before you start. WD-40, 3-in-1 or the tiny bottle of haircutter oil you get with your man- or lady-parts shaver wont cut it. Haha. Tried them all. Error. Maybe its just our lambs, still covered in dried out birth gunk, but unwashed, untreated sheep wool is seriously waxy/ oily. You need to get the shears under the wiry/ dirty top coat and into the softer, cleaner undercoat or you’ll think the shears don’t work. Once you do, you’re into YouTube territory, but without the regional accents. Even so, the gaps between the splines at the front of the cutter quickly get clogged with funky sheep wax and need to be cleaned periodically, often in our case. Nail varnish remover / acetone and an old tooth brush seemed to work well for cleaning. The cutting head is very easy to disassemble, clean and reassemble. Don’t know how well they’d work for a larger / longer job, but they worked for us and appear to be good value compared to some of the more expensive shears that are available. Vive le France and Vive le man- and lady- difference.
Worked a treat on a Shepadoodle whose coat was very matted
Probably left it too long to cut my dog. Tried my Wahl cutters but couldn’t get through the matted fur. Has a 2 hour session cutting him with scissors.
Anyway a friend suggested I try sheep shearers. Bought these and they are excellent. My dog does not like being groomed one bit and can be very snappy. He didn’t like these shears initially because they are noisey compared to the Wahl shearers, however he did get more used to it.
They are a little heavy but I soon mastered them, the instructions don’t help with best approach.

Nous avons un montagne des Pyrnes et nous cherchons depuis longtemps une Tondeuse qui permette de couper ses poils avec un sous poil laineux et trs
Trs pais. Celle ci permet de le faire sans difficult et surtout comme elle glisse dans son poil mon chien de bouge pas. J’ai eu un peu peur quand je l’ai reu car je la trouvais trop grande et trop lourde mais aprs utilisation je suis plus que satisfaite et quand je vois les dpenses dj faites pour entretenir son poil, le prix de cette tondeuse me semble plus que raisonnable. Esprons qu’elle fonctionne aussi bien trs longtemps!

Corta muy bien, lo nico que pesa bastante y el mayor inconveniente es que se calienta bastante y tienes que parar de vez en cuando, yo ya use para pelar burros y va perfecta

Recensione assolutamente positiva per questa macchinetta tosatrice. Mio marito ha come passatempo un piccolo gregge di pecore (con sono pi di 10) le ha tostate in poco tempo senza doversi fermare.
Heavy but effective!
These are heavy to use. You need to be fit and strong to hold the sheep and use these without cutting the animal. Definitely a two man (or woman) job!

Funziona perfettamente.. Usata per la mia canina (cane a pelo lungo di 70 kg) che ha il pelo cos fitto che con i tosatori da cani non riuscivo… venuta perfetta.. Un po’ pesante da usare a lungo ma ho fatto delle pause anche per far star tranquilla la canina..
Abbiamo tosato le nostre due pecore e con questo si fa molto prima e meglio rispetto alle forbici…le abbiamo tosato di in piedi ed stato facile. Vibra un po e il rumore un po alto per niente di strano…la nostra vecchia pecora stata contenta di nn essere messa a terra

Do 4 stelle solo perch i pettini in dotazione non valgono niente ma, con un paio di buona qualit diventa una falciatrice. Ottima macchinetta
