You’re on the fence if you want to spend $299 for a mini Space Invaders you say? It is a lot but this is the one yet out of the Quarter Arcades series. The 3D effect with the moon is there and looks great. The cabinet is much better quality and the screen is razor sharp. Just buy it.
If you are a child of the 80s, you know what it was like going to the arcade and dropping quarters into Dig Dug and the other great arcade cabs from that era. Those days don’t have to be over with this small device. I just smile every time I look at it on my shelf. It also plays well despite the small size. Is it the same as the actual arcade — of course not, it’s a nostalgia trip and not meant to be a replacement for the real thing. However, the attention to detail is stunning and it’s really cool to hit the ‘quarter button’ to drop in a quarter and then play.
This goes well with my other Quarter Arcades! Its a bit taller than my PacMan and Galaga machines, but that’s how they were in the full size.
Pros:
-Sound is controlled via knob in back, not software which I appreciate
-Joystick input is quick, no noticeable lag
-Screen image quality is crisp and clean
Cons:
-My screen (even with the plastic screen protector) has some scratches which show up dramatically or are hard to see depending on what angle you are looking at the screen.
Misc:
-Wish Quarter Arcade would come out with the 1/4 size coin machine (usb hub) like the 1/6 sized for the other brand/series.
-Wish Quarter Arcade would come out with accessories to go with the machines (stools, etc.)
So, as for the detail of the item, it’s done pretty nice. But, the fire button doesn’t work properly. That being said, it’s basically unusable. I could return it but, we all know how much of a pain that usually is so, I threw it in the trash.
So, a friend was present when I made the decision to just throw the mini arcade away and said he could repair it. Well, he did, and it actually plays as good as it looks. I changed my rating to a 4 star instead of a 1 star. If it was flawless from the start, I would have gave it 5 stars. It really is a well made and very nice mini arcade. I will be purchasing more of them. I’d love to see Donkey Kong.

This product reminded me of the times I spent playing it in the arcades. Now I have it in my numskull quarter arcades collection..
Surprisingly fun to play even at this small size, and it looks so amazing. The light up marquee is perfect. I love this thing and now I wish I had the whole collection.
The picture and description say it all. This is a lovingly recreated 1/4 scale arcade machine – designed to look and feel just like the original. And Numskull has done an outstanding job. The original game roms are used and gameplay is identical to the arcade version. Even the marquees light up. One caution: because these are a quarter-sized replication, the joysticks and buttons are not designed to take the pounding that a full-sized cabinet can take. As such, when using, the player does need to treat the controls with care. All in all, a wonderful bit of nostalgia for folks like me that dearly miss the arcades.
I played Galaxian on a MyArcade mini arcade machine, and on an Arcade1up machine. This Galaxian has better sound and better control responsiveness than either the smaller cheaper version and I also think it is superior to the Arcade1up version. This is because the controls are responsive, not spongy, and the sound is better. The unit looks amazing and is quite large. I am very impressed with this and now want to buy other Numskull quarter arcades. If you like Galaxian and want a faithful reproduction that plays great, controls well, and has great sound then you should buy this. I just got it and played it for about an hour.

This mini arcade classic had the whole family addicted over Christmas. Unfortunately when playing in 2up mode, player two game freezes not long into the game and you have to switch off and start again. Other than that, pleased with purchase.
Plays exactly as the original. Cabinet art is beautiful, marquee lights up. If I had to mention one tiny flawhigh scores don’t save upon turning it off. Still a 5 star product regardless.
I own all of these machines. They are wonderful and bring back so many good memories. However, all the machines are in desperate need of a screen upgrade. If you move even slightly to the left or right from center- the screen has a blue glare coming off of it. Many of the big timer reviewers mention this but they really play it down. However, this is a big deal. I own several devices with similar screen sizes that are perfect at all angles. The makers should really upgrade this screen immediately, even if the price goes up some.
I spent tons of time in arcades as a kid and have great experiences and memories from then. Just having this thing plugged in on a desk running demo play is amazing, but it is very playable as well. Pictures don’t do it justice, it is extremely detailed and very high quality. The cabinet is REAL WOOD and the lit buttons really bring it to life. Game play is perfect as it is the original ROM and this model saves high scores when powered down. Can’t say enough good things about it. Love it so much I gave some away as gifts. Systems running MAME and ROMs are fine for playing games, but these things really take you back to a different world.
Now numskull has revived this 1/4 scale official arcade machine of Galaga . It looks just like the actual machine in every detail. Down to the wires. How much more real could it get. As soon as I got it I took it out of the box. The machine is quite big. Its height to my knee. The question is what can it do. I turn the machine on and all the systems come to life. The screen works just like the original arcade machine. It brings back memories . The coin door on the front lights up. The game play is just like in the arcade. So the reason why I’m giving this review 4 stars is because when I turned on the machine, the marquee on the top didn’t light up. Everything else functions as it should so I’m already satisfied with that. Despite it, I was still impressed . It’s amazing how numskull got the details right. But in the days, the fun was going to the arcades, and sticking a coin In the machine and playing. The arcade classics don’t get old no matter how many times you play it. That’s what makes it fun.

I bought this for my son for Xmas and he absolutely loved it! Even I have played with it and it brought back so many good memories of my teenage years. Not had any problems with it so far. It’s doing exactly what it should hence 5’stars.
Cette reproduction de la borne d’arcade “dig dug” de 1982 est tout simplement Exceptionnel!!! Toute la parti design, que ce soit le panneau de contrle, les side art, la forme de la borne, les matires utilises, la boite de l’article……. bref tout est la… la ROM du jeu est bien celle de la version arcade de 1982 (comme tout les produits quarter arcades…) le stick et les boutons fonctionnent parfaitement mme si oui… c’est trs petit… mais contre toute attente ont s’y fait (moi en tout cas), le stick est robuste et prcis… pour finir je dirais que numskull passe un cap avec ce produit qui est encore mieux fini que les autres!!! Plus grand, plus robuste, plus lourd (plus de matire mtallique que sur les autre modles…) le monnayeur qui s’allume….bref un sans fautes…
MAIS….. cette article ne peux que venir d’angleterre et sachez que a cote trs chre!!!!!! Jai pay cette article sur amazon (stock et expdi par geekstor.com) 120 euro plus 16 euro de frais de port donc 136 euros en tout… et bien c’est 54 euro de frais de douane en plus (Brexit)!!! Voila…. donc un article a 190 euros!!!!!! videment cette surprise vous ne l’aurez que la veille de votre livraison avec un petit mail de DHL qui vous explique comment va se drouler le racket!!!! Si vous voulez tre livr un faut payer!!!! Donc 54 euro pour 136 dpens…. a fait quoi a? Entre 30 et 40% du prix en plus????? Cest normal??? These Quarter Arcades by Numskull are an exactly (quarter size) replica of the original arcade cabinet.
Even the joystick, artwork and coin-box are the exact dimensions.
The only difference is that the screens in the quarter arcades are an LCD type that are both bright and reliable.
The game play is super and is the actual version from the arcade’s ROM itself. I other words, the gameplay is exactly the same as you’d find on the original arcade from the 80s!
The cabinets are just the right size and they are very enjoyable to play. Don’t be fooled, these units aren’t too small (or too big) they are just about perfect for gameplay.
The marquee’s are also back-lit to make these arcades look like their bigger brothers.
A rechargeable lithium Battery is included and is charged using the supplied USB cable.
The outer box itself makes it look like a collectors edition.
If you love retro gaming, you’ll love this.
Bought as a present, I was worried it would be too small to actually use. It’s not, and sat on coffee or dining table or desk it’s very good. It says it’s running the original program of the game and I certainly believe that.

Used for home entertainment, it really is like a cut down replica of the arcade machine with all the buttons toggles etc. sound effects are brilliant and graphics are very good. All in all like playing a minsture version of the real thing

At last a perfect Galaxian arcade experience! Fantastic build quality and it now sits beside my Pac-Man 1/4 size Arcade Cabinet. Can’t wait for Space Invaders that I have pre-ordered!
This is my second one of these and I really enjoy these. It looks, and plays, fantastic. It’s the arcade ROM so that’s great.

I adore these quarter arcades which are more for collecting and display than regular playing. Extremely well produced they aren’t cheap but are a fine addition to any serious retro gamers collection.
Again Numskull have blown it out of the park with both quality and attention to detail. The machines are perfect replicas from the artwork to the fully licensed roms.
Some ppl are worried about the size. I have big hands and have no problem playing the cabs.
I can honestly say spend the extra few pounds on these machines instead of the cheap knockoffs from China.

Amazing little machine. Attention to detail is spot on. I have large hands and have no problem playing the machine. Don’t waste your money on cheap copies from China the extra money is well spent on the Numbskull Quarter Arcade.

its like its 1979 again. looks like the full size, plays like the full size BUT the fire button doesn’t feel as strong as the one and two player buttons, you soon forget though. overall, brilliant.
I’ve played the original pac man arcade and didn’t think I’d ever seen something like this. It’s a complete replica of the real thing, just like we have seen with the mini consoles. It’s even been pre updated to remove flaws from the game when it first come out for a more authentic experience. I’ve experienced nothing wrong with this machine and have been impressed by the build quality more then with the mini consoles and that’s to do with the art of the cabinet itself and the light up marquee above. I play with it on my lap and feel comfortable. I’m waiting for space invaders nex
The first thing that surprised me was the size of this unit. I didn’t expect it to be so large. It’s a big sturdy cabinet too, well made and the attention to detail is outstanding. Hopefully you get a feel for it in my video – it genuinely feels like having an original arcade cabinet. No detail is too small.
The game itself, well its Galaxians, but the cabinets quality sound system makes for an authentic experience as I could have hoped.

This quarter scale replica is amazing. It will be a nice display piece but also plays really well. No issues with light bleed from speaker which was the only minor negative on my Pacman quarter scale cab.
When I originally purchased this machine I thought that it would be for display purposes and that it would be too small to play, surprisingly this replica is very playable and enjoyable, also the issues that early machines had with crashes and speed etc have been fixed as the software on this unit is the new variant, the only small issue is a small amount of light bleed from the speaker which isn’t that bad. I like this replica so much I bought the Galaga one too, the Galaga version that I have doesn’t have the light bleed issue which is promising for future Numskull Quarter Arcade replicas.
Ich habe mir dieses Cabinet gekauft, nachdem ich einige YouTube Videos zum Produkt angeschaut habe.
Das Spielgefhl ist wirklich Gut bis Sehr Gut, der Joystick macht einen stabilen Eindruck, die Lautstrke lsst sich wunderbar regulieren und der eingebaute Akku luft und luft. Die Gestaltung ist Gut und wirkt Authentisch, leider (darum ein Punkt Abzug) ist alles etwas einfach gehalten, Holz, Mnzeinwurf, Abdeckungen fr das Marquee (hier htte ich mit Metall gewnscht). Also fr fast 190 muss einfach etwas mehr wertiges Material verbaut werden.
