The RUZIZAO Anemometer is a small (16.7cm x 13.2cm x 4.2cm), light (100g) handheld wind speed meter and ambient temperature gauge.

It has a nice large, clear backlit readout display and it can be set to Imperial or Metric measurements, will compute average wind speed and retain highest velocity, utilising just two control buttons.
Turn it on, set it, hold it up facing the direction the wind is blowing from, so the small fan can freely rotate and that’s all there is to it, you then read the figures.

You should be aware that the yellow rubber outer shell needs to be removed in order to access the battery compartment, the necessary CR2032 battery is in the package together with lanyard and manual.

I like it, it’s really easy to use, no unnecessary complexities and will return fast readings. And at what I deem a reasonable price, what’s not to like?

Really nice versatile wind speed meter. Very small design makes it portable and easy to carry with you. Whenever you going to flight with drone, flying with kite, planning to do any sport which require wind you can have it always with you.

Device is simple but very clever, it has tiny fan with extraordinary bearings which is sensitive for slowest wind. Once it start spinning it displays speed in unit you preselected such an m/s, km/h, knots, mph, ft/min so everybody will find something for himself. It registers ambient temperature as well and constantly displays it on screen.

It truly serve multipurpose, if you might need one, this one is definitely to go.

This wind speed meter comes in a plain cardboard box and inside you’ll find the meter, rubber case, CR2032 battery, and an instruction leaflet.

The meter is lightweight and compact and comes with a rubber casing preinstalled onto it. This needs to be removed by simply pulling it off so you can access the battery compartment on the rear of the meter. You can twist the battery cap with your fingers, or you can use a coin, and place the supplied battery into the meter. You turn on the device by holding the mode button for 2 seconds and the screen will come on and illuminate with its own backlight. The backlight will stay on for 12 seconds before it automatically turns off to save battery power. To turn the light back on, simply press any of the two buttons on the front of the meter.

The wind meter is easy to operate with only two buttons on the front. Holding the mode button down for three seconds allows you to choose how the wind speed is displayed from m/s, Km/h, ft/min, Knots, and mph. You can cycle through them with the set button and press the mode button again when the desired speed setting is illuminated. You can even change how the result on the screen is calculated from either Current Air Velocity, Maximum Air Velocity, or display the average Air Velocity.

The only downside is that the ambient temperature sensor appeared to be about 4 degrees below the actual temperature. This was compared to a weather station with a sensor outside, and an online regional one. It’s not a big deal but it isn’t accurate so needs mentioning.

Overall, this is a brilliant wind speed detector. It’s small and compact and displays the wind speed in various formats and you can choose a live reading or the maximum speed it detects along with an average speed if needed. It keeps your chosen settings when it’s turned off and only looses them when you change the battery but they are quick to set up again so it’s not an issue.

Seems accurate for wind speed, but the temperature reading is 4 degrees too low...

This is very plasticy and lightweight. It doesn’t really inspire confidence in the build quality

I tested it against the readings from UAV forecast and it seems pretty accurate as far as I can tell.

I want it for checking wind speed locally when I play with my drone. It’s handy to know what it’s like in a particular location before launching.

So yes, it works and it seems pretty accurate. But it feels cheaply made. And I think you’d have to be careful how you store/use it to avoid damaging it. No chance of just throwing this in a bag!

It took me a few to realise that I needed to peel off the yellow cover in order to access the battery compartment. This is a neat little anemometer that’s perfect for me to check the windspeed is in an acceptable range before trying kite aerial photography; if you’re into home weather monitoring you’ll also find it useful. It’s lightweight and will fit easily in a pocket.

This is a good size Anemometer, which I thought my OH would like as he is a regular drone flyer and photographer/videographer
However, he informs the drone lets him know wind conditions way higher than this Meter can reach!
But, we tested it out anyway and found it to be pretty accurate
It is robust and well made with a silicone cover to protect it and that is removed for battery access.
The meter also shows temperature, which could be handy
The Led is clear but doesn’t stay on very long so that was a bit of a let down.

I would also like to have seen a bag in which to keep i

You receive a small pocket sized handheld Anemometer, which measures Wind Speed Temperature and Wind Chill.

Easy to use, comes with battery, which is a little button cell a CR2032.

There are only two buttons which do everything, press the mode button to switch on and select modes, the set button changes various setting such as speed etc.

Ideal for Drone flying, I’ve used one with the sailing club before, much bigger and more features, but can see this being used on a small boat.

A great small Anemometer, works well and easy to use.

As usual, the package arrived very quickly from Amazon.

I ordered this RUZIZAO Handheld Anemometer/Digital Wind Speed Meter, as I have always been a little interest in wind speed and the wind chill factor.

The Anemometer arrived in a sturdy little cardboard box, also inside the box is a Lanyard which is attached to it, a CR2032 Battery to power it, and an Instruction Manual.

Lately I have taken an interest in flying a drone, and the one I have is very light, it’s not a professional one, so when I saw this Anemometer, I thought it may come in handy to check the wind speed before flying, but as one reviewer has already said, this will only check the wind speed at ground level, so not so sure it will be as useful for that as I thought.

One thing it will be good for is checking the power of a fan, I have reviewed quite a few in the passed, and this would have been really useful to check just how powerful they are, anyway I’m sure I will review another fan or two in the future, I did test it on a couple of fans just to see how it works, you can see this in my video.

I did take it with me when I went for a walk, just to see how windy it was, and I must say I enjoyed using it, I walked down one road, and the wind speed was about 4mph, then as I turned a corner towards my local common, there was a big gust of wind and the Anemometer read 10.4mph, the road was like a wind tunnel.

It measures the wind speed in

    Metres per Second (m/s)
    Kilometres per Hour (Km/h)
    Feet per Minute (ft/min)
    Knots
    Miles per Hour (mph)
    Wind Chill
And also set the Maximum and Average speeds.

The thing I like so much about it is that it is so small, it approximately 4.27 inches long (106,3mm) by 1.71 inches wide (44.1mm) by 0.81 inches thick (19.7mm), so will easily fit into most pockets and bags.

There are a couple of little niggles, taking the cover off to fit the battery, hopefully this won’t be very often, and I wish it had come with some sort of case or bag, but as I said, they are only little niggles, and I will find a case or bag for it.

At the time of writing this review the price is 15.98, and I think it is a very reasonable price.

The squares on the table I use when photographing and videoing items are 1cm squares, you can use them to judge the size of items I photograph.

I hope you have found this review, photos and video helpful.

This is a great little Anemometer, will come in really useful for me.

This is a great device. It is incredibly straightforward and easy to use. It turns on by pressing the Mode button for 2 seconds and you press hold Mode again to change the unit settings. To turn off press and hold Mode and Set together. The meter works instantly giving you an accurate and clear reading. It is lightweight and easy to hold. It even has a rope lanyard so you can carry it around your neck. Good value.

This device shows wind speed and temperature. It’s super simple to use, the rubber casing will help protect against drops and can be slid off to access the battery compartment (battery included).
I can change between different wind measurements including m/s, km/h, mph.
Great little device for my testing of fans.

    Does exactly what it should

Whilst this kind of gadget won’t necessarily hold a lot of interest for some, others will find it great. It is good to know wind speed, direction, wind-chill etc; particularly if you are sailing or using a drone etc. However, others still (like me) just like to see prevailing weather conditions.

This is really well-made, tough and rugged, with a secondary ruggedised case to protect against dropping. The device uses the fairly ubiquitous CR2032 (button type) battery, which is included. It’s really simple to set up (with your selected choice of unit — e.g. speed MPH, Km/H, m/s etc.

The device works really well, is super sensitive, with particularly the impeller, which can be demonstrated by gently blowing into. Display is clear and bright, with a useful battery condition indicator also. It’s well-designed, and comfortable to hold. It would have been nice had it had an included case.

Overall, a great little gadget, excellent quality, and decent value. Recommended.

I hope that you have found this helpful.

This little anemometer is handy if you fly model aircraft or kites, or windsurf.

It is very easy to use – install the supplied battery, turn it on and read the wind speed.

The instructions tell you how to change the units – it defaults to m/s but I’m more used to knots. It only takes a couple of button presses and you are done.

As well as the wind speed, the device also gives the temperature – and wind chill if it’s cold. I can’t test that right now, as it’s currently the hottest day in UK history.

Easy to use, small and portable.

Handy little wind meter that also measures temperature. If you fly drones this could be for you too.

At first I struggled to find out how to put the battery in but then realised that the yellow exterior is a rubber protective cover. Pull this off and you can put the battery in.

The device is simple to use and effectively measures the wind/breeze.

A super little device that fits in my pocket. It gives the all-important wind chill temperature by incorporating the wind speed and ambient temperature. The wind chill is the combined effect of temperature and the evaporation effect of wind on the skin that makes it feel colder.

The air impeller will work in both directions, so in my video, you’ll see it reading the downdraft from my ceiling fan. OF course, you can set the readings for ft/sec. m/sec, MPH, knots, etc and it also shows a Beaufort scale along the left-hand side.

When the temperature is 0 degrees-C or less the wind chill display will operate to show the wind effect on the ambient temperature.

One small point. the anemometer is encased in a yellow cover. On the rear of the cover is what looks like a battery compartment. it’s NOT!!, so don’t try and pick it, turn or lever it. Take the case off and the compartment is on the main unit! See pictures

A nice effective anemometer that seems to give good readings. It’s basic, there are no memories, or carrying case on this device, but it’s small compact and easy to use.

small basic wind speed recorder with wind chill, but no memories.

I ordered this as I wanted to measure wind speed. I am fascinated by the movement of the wind.

This handheld item can measure wind speed and temperature. It is great for a variety of uses such as kite flying, flying drones, checking PC fan speeds, comparing the speed of cooling fans, and checking air conditioner effectiveness.

Here are summary of the points.

    Good:
    ——–
    – LED light
    – Protective Silicone Cover
    – Neck Strap
    – 6 blade fan
    – Lightweight
    – Small Pocket friendly
    – Thermometer
    – Various units of measurement such as m/s km/h ft/min mph knots

    The Ok:
    ——–
    – The LED goes off very quickly.
    – If you can’t see the display — then no way of storing or freezing the information (even for record-keeping)

    Bad:
    ——
    – Trying to fit the battery was not obvious (there is an orange silicone cover). On first turning over it looks like you have access to the battery compartment, but the orange outer skin/covering needs to be taken off first, and then opening the battery compartment is easy.
    – It can’t seem to read speeds over 18mph — fan stops moving (strange)

I cannot vouch for its accuracy (as I have nothing to calibrate against)

This is a great item for various hobbies.

    First impression:
The anemometer is quite small at only 4 1.4″. The wind speed is measured by a very small ducted fan impeller rather than spinning cups. Controls are simple with some recess buttons providing configuration buttons to change mode and set any changes into memory. The mode button turns it on, and pressing both buttons together turns it off.
The display is readable and reasonably large and is also edge lit when required. There is a detachable lanyard for safety and the unit is protected in a soft rubberised shell.
The temperature measurement is of the thermistor type and is buried inside a small hole, and is really intended to measure the wind temperature.

    Contents:
In the box you get the anemometer / temperature unit, with attached lanyard, CR2032 battery in a small bag and instructions.

    Application:
The first thing is to work out how to insert the battery. This is not in the instructions, but you have to part remove the outer rubber case, to reveal the battery compartment. Use a coin to give it a 10-degree twist anti clockwise to open and then you can insert the battery. It only goes one way with the + facing up.
The thermometer measured 27.5 in still conditions against two separate digital thermometers at 23.4, 23.5 ambient air temperature, and a digital infrared one measuring 27 degrees on the casing. The temperature decreased as I left the unit to cool in still air, but measured 27 degrees as air moved through the unit. I can surmise that the measurement is fairly accurate in moving air, and that the lower ambient measurements where slightly inaccurate due to still air conditions.

    What I liked:
Its small size means that it can be slipped into a pocket until required. Its compact design is way more convenient to use than a cup anemometer.
Combined with temperature measurement this unit can help you estimate wind chill, although there is no second thermistor to measure just the ambient temperature.
Reasonably good thermometer, despite this being a thermistor.
Records maximum wind speed to you can see the speed that the wind is gusting.

Anything I didn’t like so much:
There is no sensor cover, which would have been a good idea to protect it from dirt and dust that will affect its performance. This part must be kept clean and dry. Even a cloth case would be good, and I will have to find one somewhere.
The shape of the rubberised shell is a bit haphazard at the back but it does just clear the edges of the turbine. It is important to get relatively smooth airflow for improved accuracy.
The blades are not perfectly finished and there is no hub around where the blades join the shaft into the vane motor that detects the air speed. Disturbed airflow will in this region will reduce accuracy and this is quoted as +- 5%, which is probably expected from such a small unit, but still quite large.
The anemometer is unidirectional unlike the cup type and it is important to ensure that the fan is turned into the wind. If the wind direction is chaotic then this will also affect accuracy.

    Conclusion:
This is a handy and compact unit, easy to operate and very convenient to take out of your pocket and take a spot measurement. It has a variety of uses although most people will use it as a guide. Ground wind speed for drone or RC flying is useful, but not definitive at any height above the ground, and most fishermen, myself included are able to adjust the cast to the conditions by instinct and if not, then a few test casts will do the trick. It is therefore a helpful tool to have. I might use it to know when I absolutely have to take my tent down!

Thanks for taking the time to read my review, I hope you found it helpful.

Useful pocket sized wind speed and temperature measurement.

A simple anemometer is very easy to operate it got a mode button and a set button it shows the wind speed in whichever unit needed on the led screen and the air temperature. It’s an excellent little tool shows the current wind speed, max wind speed along with the average wind speed.

Simple to operate and even shows the air temperature
