Great little camera for the money Unfortunately after 9 months it developed a fault .I contacted Decko customer service and they were brilliant and are sending me a replacement free of charge.
If only more companies looked after their customers in this way

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI was very satisfied with this security camera as it did exactly what i needed it for. Decent quality picture batter life good (not had to recharge it yet), easy to fit and set up, and has delivered the peace of mind of now having a visual deterrent on my front door which I feel is much more off putting to a woulod be intruder than my house alarm has been all these years. Great product.

Waited a couple of weeks to see what it was like before I left a review. So far I’ve not had a single problem with the camera. Picture is clear even on playback, even in the dark. Loud alarm, speaker, and I still have over 80% battery. Definitely one of the best cameras on here for the price.

This was a very good camera for what I wanted it for. Unfortunately it stopped working a few weeks back and when I went down the road of reordering a replacement the company replaced the broken camera with a new one within days. Excellent after sales service and also a very good buy easy to set up and get running and very good results from the camera onto my mobile phone.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersI bought this to use so I can watch the birds at our bird house in the garden and I’m amazed. This camera does almost everything another security camera I have does, which cost more than twice as much.

The motion detection works great, and on the highest setting even detected a spider running over the bird house! And the video quality is great too.

The only thing I could fault it on is the way to get video onto your phone. It’s clunky – rather than just saving a video to your phone, you have to play the video and ‘record’ it …then that creates a file you can there share, and then finally get it on your phone! Pretty convoluted…

But you can still remove the sd card and save the videos manually from that so it’s not so bad.

Overall, I’m delighted with this camera. I’m planning to buy another one soon so I can monitor our bat-box next!

This security camera set comes in a plain white cardboard box and inside you’ll find 2x cameras, quick user guide, security sticker, wall fixings, Micro-USB power cable, and a drill guide sticker.

The camera itself is made from plastic and has a gloss white finish. It can be charged with a Micro-USB, which is supplied, top charge up the internal battery and this can last nearly two months on one charge depending on how many times the camera is activated in that period. The more times it is activated to record, the less time it will have before needing a full charge. Underneath the camera is a rubber cap which seals the camera from the rain. Pulling out this cap reveals the Power button, Micro-USB port, SD card slot, and the reset button.

Installation is simple as you only need to charge it up and press the power button and the camera will automatically turn on. You need a 6mm drill bit to for the screw holes to setup the camera, you need to install the CloudEdge app from the Playstore/App Store, and then add a new device from within the app. Follow the easy-to-follow instructions via the app and It’ll then ask for your Wi-Fi password and after inputting it, the camera will automatically connect to your router, and you can control it via the app. This camera automatically connected to my 2.4ghz channel, so I didn’t have to faff about disabling channels like cheaper cameras, this connected straight away. The app offers a few features like Live view, history, and you can directly control the pan and tilt with a simple D-Pad style control via the app. The app is simple to use

The night vision mode worked well and gave me a crisp and clear picture in the dark. I could choose what resolution to see the live view with which was Standard Definition or Full-HD. The higher the resolution you chose, the sharper the image got, and I’m quite impressed with the picture quality. The camera can alert you, with a message on your phone, if it detects movement which you can turn on or off. It’ll even alert you if it hears something too which again, you can turn on or off. You can manage your recordings on either full day recording or record on events.

You can also install a memory card into the camera which enables the camera to be able to record any footage it detects straight on to it. The camera doesn’t come with one though so you will have to provide your own. This makes it a completely wireless solution as it is self-powered and records its own footage after you install and SD card. You can add a solar panel to this for free power from the sun or you can power it with a USB adapter and hardwire it straight into the camera for a more permanent power solution. The cap underneath the camera is made from rubber and there is a smaller rubber cap in the middle of that. If you pull out the smaller cap, it reveals the Micro-USB charging port, and you can plug your cable directly into it which will still keep the rain out of the internals of the camera.

In conclusion, home cameras have improved a lot in recent years and have become cheaper. This 1080p resolution camera is amazing at the price point of 40 each and the fact it can store footage locally negates any need for a subscription service. Also being wireless makes it a quick to install them as you only need to drill four holes and screw it into place without worrying about feeding wires through. One confusing thing though is the plain white box they come in say they are internal cameras, but they are being sold as outdoor cameras. I would say the build quality suggests they would be ok as outdoor cameras but the packaging is confusing.

Easy to install since you don't need any wires...

I recently received the DEKCO Security Camera Outdoor Battery Operated, Wireless CCTV Camera and have been extremely impressed with its performance. The installation was a breeze and the wireless connectivity has been consistently strong. The video quality is excellent and the night vision feature is impressive.

I also appreciate the flexibility of the battery-operated design. It allows me to position the camera in any location without worrying about access to a power outlet. The battery life is impressive and only requires occasional charging.

The accompanying app is user-friendly and allows me to easily view live footage and access recorded footage. The motion detection feature is highly accurate and sends timely notifications to my phone.

Overall, I am extremely satisfied with this security camera and would highly recommend it to others. It provides peace of mind and adds an extra layer of security to my home.

Good set of cameras that give a really good video picture in 1080p and seem very high quality. Quite easy to set up although instructions not the best.

Need a good charge when opened and good to go. They are motion detection cameras and work very well!

This is a 2 pack of wireless security cameras. They;re sold as outdoor cameras, but the box arriving says indoor cameras. This was initially a concern, but having installed one outside and having survived torrential rain for a few nights, I can safely say these things are weather proof.
The cloudedge app I already had installed seemed to work fine with it which is good since it makes life easier.
In terms of battery life, it’s been running abotu a week and just fine. I’d anticipate perhaps needing to charge the battery every couple of months which can be done via microusb. You could alternatively buy a solar panel, which would then pretty much remove your need to charge it at all.

At 80 for two of these cameras I feel that’s great value for money!

Very good value, truly wireless cameras

I love this camera. It was very simple to connect on the app and set up. Installing the camera is also so simple. It comes with the mounting materials, just pick a spot and put it up. There are no wires to hook-up so you can mount it anywhere. The camera quality is also great both night and day. I love being able to pull up the app and check on things at my home any time while I am away. It picks up movement very well and sends me notification. Battery life so far is beyond great.

After trying the PTZ Camera from Dekco and being quite impressed I thought I’d give their fixed, battery powered outdoor cameras a try.

Once out of the box the cameras were a doddle to setup much like the previous one I ordered, you just flip the little waterproof cover open, press the power button for a few seconds and connect it using the Cloudedge app which takes minutes once it’s all opened up. There’s a very handy feature while installing the cameras that allows you to see WiFi signal strength in real time where your phone is to assess suitable placement for the cameras without wasting time attaching them in a WiFi dead spot. The app itself is very user friendly and plays a big part in making these cameras so useful with plenty of features included like motion detection alerts, camera strobe and alarm if motion is detected to deter intruders, the ability to manually turn on the camera light or sound a very loud siren to deter intruders that haven’t been detected or just to raise the alarm in general, battery level and charging status, it’s a fairly comprehensive little package and all of this is without needing to pay for a monthly subscription unlike some others.

The picture quality is pretty decent in both day and night modes, the delay between camera and what’s on screen was about a second which is acceptable for a WiFi camera. You have the ability to fit a 128gb micro SD card for around a week’s recording and review of footage in app which is pretty standard on these type of cameras.

If you have Alexa powered display devices you can link these to your app and bring up camera feeds by voice command which seemed to work pretty well when tested, as long as you give the cameras easy to understand names it should work fine.

For the time being I will probably recharge these as and when they need it but I will most likely install a solar panel to top them up negating the need to manually recharge them, which is a handy feature to have for permanent free power for the cameras especially if they’re mounted far from a fixed power supply (garden outbuildings etc.) The little cover on the bottom has 2 parts allowing just the center to be opened for connecting a micro USB from a solar panel without compromising the waterproof seal, the soft silicon moulds around the connector keeping things nice and dry.

If you’re looking for a standalone outdoor security camera that doesn’t need a wired power supply and you don’t want a monthly bill for using it, these little cameras from Dekco pack lots of useful features at a reasonable price, definitely a brand to keep an eye on in future if this is anything to go by.

Good quality and convenient power supply

Very good peace of mind having these installed. Some drilling is required, but not much. Solid when fixed up on the wall, and they cover a wide area. The picture quality is fantastic too. I like that they’re weatherproof if you decide to have them in place outdoors. Very good.

I have tried a few different wireless security cameras and I have to say this is definitely in my top 3 – especially at the price (37.39 October 2022).

Extremely well built – feels solid and has a decent weight to it
The base is strong and holds the camera in position (obviously when tightened)
Although battery powered, it can have the power cable connected and the connection port is well protected and gives a good snug fit to the cable
Very well printed and easy to read instruction manual – although I didn’t need to read or use it to set up the camera
Very easy to use Cloudedge App – very simple to install the camera and very easy to use interface… didn’t even need to refer to the camera manual
    The picture quality is great
The 2 way audio is excellent – the best I have come across, when I tested this I could easily hold a 2-way conversation
Night pictures are good quality – can set for B&W, full colour or auto
Easy to set up a very granular motion detection zone – based on the area being split into a grid of squares and you just select the squares in the grid you want to be active
    Can schedule the motion detection
The siren works well and is LOUD
There is a selectable small light on the front that can be switched on/off
Alerts to the app work very well
A very important feature (to me) – can easily share the camera with others (if they are registered) – this is extremely important for me as we (our family), use these cameras to look over our mum – so we can all keep an eye on her

    Couple of design suggestions:
Would have been nice to have the newer USB-U charging interface instead of the older micro-USB port
Would have been nice to have a 1/4″ thread in the bottom of the camera – this would allow the use of a tripod and position the camera inside a window on a small tripod.

Overall, at (37.39 October 2022), I would say that is absolutely cracking value for this camera – extremely well made, well featured and easy to use – no hesitation at all in rating 5

Cannot fault - brilliant wireless camera 🎦👏👍

Build quality is top notch. It feels hard-wearing and has handled sunny, windy, and rainy days over the past month without problems.

The app is easy to navigate and works as it should. I already had it installed and set up for another Dekco camera, so it didn’t take long to get this one running.

The two way audio works well with only minor static, and the motion detection instantly sends notification alerts to my phone.

Image quality is great, with sharp enough night vision to clearly make out anyone passing by.

So far works as it should so I’d be happy to recommend.

This security camera arrived quick and it was very well packed. I really really am very happy with this outdoor camera. I want to point out a couple of features that this security camera has that for me was an absolutely game changer from what i had previously owned.

    1. It has an upgraded PIR sensor that can analyse motion detection and do only humanoid detection which is an absolutely amazing feature because it will significantly reduce all the false alerts and i can have peace of mind knowing that if i do get an alert something is really happening.
As a little side note you do have to insert an SD card which is not included…because when the humanoid detection is alerted it will record the whole incident and it needs a place to be stored…you will still receive an app alert in the meantime.

    2. No power cord or network cable needed. 100% Wireless. It can go from 30 to 60 days with a full charge of the battery. It can also be connected to a solar panel (not included) so you can have an unlimited power supply. It’s a good thing because you can easily install it anywhere you’d want and you don’t have to worry about not having a power supply close by.

    3. 1080P FHD Clear Video and Colour Night Vision for images and videos also. The full-colour mode can be set on camera settings, then the camera will trigger a strobe light to take a full-colour vision video. It is an really important feature to have for an outdoor camera…because it having a good quality video and image it is very helpful for me and any owner to have all the details just in front of you without having to worry that the image is not clear enough to identify a person or a plate number or anything like that.

    4. Another important feature is the sound and light alarms .When detected a humanoid motion, the camera will automatically trigger an audio and strobe light alarm to scare off the intruder. In some cases i’d say maybe 80% of the time this can be a very efficient way to keep your house safe…because if someone is trying to enter your house randomly they will definitely be scared of and also it will attract the neighbours attention or any other people in the street. It a really nice thing to have with a security camera…it’s like another layer of protection.

    5. It requires 1 AAA battery which is included. The measurement of the camera are 9.65 x 15.24 x 10.16 cm. It weighs 330 grams. It can easily be mounted on the wall.

I am happily recommending this outdoor security camera to anyone. It can easily be mounted at the front door, in the back garden, in the shed or on the corners of the house. It an amazing product. Very sturdy and easy to use. Great value for money. Good quality. Totally worth the price.

Prior to being offered this item for review under the Vine program, I’d purchased a Blink outdoor myself. The Blink was returned within the week, as the limitations of PIR-based motion detection (vs image processing) became clear, and made it unsuitable for the application intended. More details are available in my review of the Blink but be aware that this unit uses the same method and is subject to the same *serious* limitations (much lower detection range and poor detection of motion directly towards the lens).

This does mean I’m very familiar with the performance and capabilities of the Blink and I think that’s relevant to this device – with a month of testing under my belt, I find it in every way to be as performant as the Blink was, and probably better in regards of picture quality and motion detection. If your use-case means that PIR detection can meet your requirements, then I think this would make a good alternative, at a lower purchase price.

Having a new outbuilding and a hence new monitoring requirement which can be met with PIR detection (and where mains power would have been a pain to provide), I was ok with giving the DEKCO unit a chance and in that application, I am very happy with its performance.

One thing to note: Unless you plan to store your recording on an SD card fitted within the device itself (which you need to supply separately) you should factor in that cloud-based storage from the accompanying CloudEdge software runs at $3 (USD) at the time of writing. This is on par with what Amazon are charging for Blink storage.

This camera comes boxed with instructions and accessories including mounting screws and USB charging cable. Build quality seems decent, with a thick rubber tab providing some waterproofing for the ports at the bottom. There doesn’t seem to be any waterproofing for the speaker on the back though. The camera is designed to be mounted, so won’t stand up on its own unsupported.

The camera settings are all managed by the CloudEdge app, which I downloaded, installed and linked to my wi-fi with no issues. Like most wi-fi cameras, this one is only compatible with 2.4GHz networks. The app offers a good range of customisation for motion detection, alarms, notifications etc. Recording can be local on a micro-SD card (not included) or on the cloud if you want to pay for cloud storage. Picture and sound quality are decent, with night vision working well. Motion detection is a bit hit and miss but the sensitivity can be reduced if you get too many false alarms. I’m still getting more false alarms than I’d like, but for live monitoring it’s fine.

Battery life seems pretty good so far, I charged it up on first use and it’s been doing well though constant use will run it down quicker of course. However, recharging it will be a bit of a nuisance if the camera is mounted in a hard-to-reach location. Conversely, if the camera is mounted in an easy to reach location then it can be interfered with, so there’s a balance to be found there.

Overall I’m fairly satisfied with this wi-fi camera. It doesn’t have anything other than basic functionality but that’s all I need. Most importantly, it operates wirelessly and has a good HD picture.

What I love most about this camera is it is really quick to get it up and running. Not having any major constraints in terms to needing to be in direct sun or requiring a power supply means you can put this practically anywhere, just keep in mind that you’ll still need wifi signal if you want to view the camera remotely from your phone.

I’ve fitted this just under my bedroom window to allow me easy access to it when I need to charge the battery without having to get the ladders out.

The image quality is good and being able to record footage on to an SD card is something a lot of the more expensive cameras are missing and forcing you to subscribe to their cloud service like my ring cameras do.

For a single LED the light emitted by the camera is really bright and lights up a fairly large area, even when it’s high up. Without the light the night vision is pretty impressive, it’s clear enough to make out a cars registration depending on the distance of course.

Overall good quality and a good buy for the price.

This is a nice-sized security camera that doesn’t need professional installation. The camera is simple to mount and you need to download the app to access the settings.

This is a camera that is responsive and works well day or night.
It can be stood on a window sill or mounted outside.
It has a base that can be screwed in, therefore easy to remove as well.

The app is ok, easy to download and also use. I got fed up with the notifications so these were soon muted. The app is basic and does give you some options.

Overall a handy little security camera that can be set up to see what is going on around the home. The picture is clear and I am quite happy with this and would recommend it.

The camera is charged using the supplied USB cable. The camera has a micro SD card slot that will take a card up to 128GB in size for video/image storage or it will support cloud storage. The camerais easy to set up – simply download the app and follow the instructions. It is paired by scanning a QR code displayed on the phone app. Once installed you can use the app to show the video feed from the camera and configure it. It is powered by a rechargeable battery so doesn’t need any wires

Through the app it also possible to set up motion detection which will send an alert when someone is detected near the camera and attach a snapshot. The motion detection can be adjusted. The camera can be set to show HD quality and is also good in the dark, thanks to IR imagery.

The camera talks to its own app (CloudEdge) and doesn’t have any connection to third party apps such as Smart Life or Alexa.

  38. JanineWoore says:

The camera is well made and works really well. The app is OK and fairly easy to navigate. I used an SD card to save the images. Night image quality about what you’d expect.

Setup was OK – on 2.4ghz band – easy if you can temporarily turn off 5ghz. The issue I had was that my WiFi password was too long. Really, what rubbish is this – this is only the second device to claim such a thing (the other was another ‘cheap’ camera). I’ve got lots of devices and smart things connected – not even my light bulbs complain about the password. I wasn’t about to reconnect everything else so I could make this camera happy. I sorted it by setting up another network. But it does make you think that it’s not been fully thought through or tested.

The second reservation is battery life which I’m estimating on current use (indoors in the warm) to be about 5-6 weeks. Just wondering where to place the camera if I need to charge it frequently….

Camera arrived nicely packed in branded box.
Little leaflet tells step by step which app to install (CloudEdge). App have few options to go through and set the camera up to the way we need. Through the app we can hear sounds from outside and see what’s going on in real time. If sensor detects movements it automatically records videos. Speaking of sensor…it even start recording when bus passes and flash the lights. Some sounds also activates camera..loud passing car for example..so I have quite few recordings “for no reason” which, end of the day, takes space on my memory card I bought for this camera and drains the rechargeable battery.

Positive things about the camera is
    – it’s small size,
-it’s easy to set up and pair with the app
    – it’s really wireless, but occasionally needs charging (battery level is shown on the app)
-its connected to home wi-fi so better speed, is more beneficial
-It requires popular app CloudEdge which I already have for my other camera
-the app stores videos and images on memory card of any movement recorded. We have access to it through the app.
    – quality of picture is very good, even night vision is impressive
    – sensor is very sensitive
-it helps keep track what’s going on on front of the place where camera is installed
-we can buy solar panel to power this camera but its an additional cost after all.

    A bit downsides are:
    -no memory card included
-camera easily can be stolen as it is just screwed in to the holder (if installed within reach of the hand)
-battery life depends on usage.. it says 30-60 days but in reality it could be less
-often get notification that camera detected movement, even if there is no person on front of the door, just a bird activated the sensor.

All to all, it’s good camera for the price, can be kept at home (on window) or outside. Picture is clear and I’m happy with it.
I muted the annoying notification so I only use the app when want it myself.

Setup is relatively straight forward, with an app needed to monitor the camera. All you need is a 2.4ghz WiFi network, which I believe most WiFi networks cover (ours are 2.4 and 5ghz networks) so check your own network before buying.

Once connected to the WiFi and the camera is installed, you simply fire up the app to watch in real time. With the camera running, you can pinch/zoom the image to zoom in (note this is only the picture zooming, not the camera as that is fixed).

The app has settings for taking screenshots and recording the stream, turning the motion detection on and off, turning the light o n and off, blasting an alarm/siren and also using the speaker to speak like an intercom mode. You also have the ability to switch the night visions modes from full colour, to black and white, with an intelligent option.
Once you have the app setup how you like, you will start to receive notifications through when the camera is triggered, and clicking the notification takes you to the image that has been snapped.
There is a marked difference in quality between day mode and night mode, with night mode pictures being quite washed out (see attached images) however that may have been the position we had the camera at, and a higher angle may be better (ours was hidden down low).

You have the options of inserting a Micro SD card (not included) or subscribing to a cloud service which would be a monthly subscription to factor in as well.

Battery life: we had ours outside for about 18 hours to try and that used 1% of the battery (using only motion detection, and no light turned on) which in an ideal situation would be around 75 days charge (but if there are lots of activations that time would drop).
One thing I did like was the ability to remove the camera from the mounting bracket which will allow you to charge the camera (You could potentially link a solar charger to the camera so there is no need to keep charging manually).
Overall this is a well built, high quality camera that could take better night vision shots.

Great Camera, easy to set up, night vision so so

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis security camera runs with an app which is great as it links in with all my other security cameras. The camera arrives with fixing attachment and screws, plus charging lead. The camera needs to charge for 12 hours before use but should then last for approx 3 months.
It connected to my wifi straight away and has a good camera. You can also attach a solar panel to charge the battery.
45.99 at the time of writing is a fair price for this rechargeable camera

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersBox came well packaged with all parts present.

In the box you get the camera unit, usb, cable , instruction manual and best of all a nice self adhesive template for mounting with provided fixings. All in a nice case.

I have this positioned at the front of my house in conjunction with my ring doorbell to give me total coverage of the area.

Picture quality is good and clear images can be made out from the camera. I would suggest inserting an SD card to save any moments or events that occur.

Set up is easy to your wifi network but you will need to download the cloudedge app to access the information.

Motion detection works well and can be adjusted in settings for sensitivity and from other reviews I have seen and online research the battery life seems to be very reasonable ( only had up 2 days so far so hard to gauge)

Picture quality at night is also good, good enough to make out what’s happening anyway. The camera looks stylish and to be honest looks and feels more expensive.

For around 50 you can’t go wrong as a first security camera or indeed incorporating it as part of other cameras you may have.

Set up is easy, operation is easy and installation is easy.

Nothing really to hate about the product. Very good set up DecKo

This is a nice, discreet little wireless security camera, the image is not brilliant but as a ‘front door’ cam it’s certainly as good quality as you get from a ring doorbell.

The integrated battery should last quite a while if used only when motion is detected otherwise.

Everything is included except for the USB charging cable and plug.

There is a nice self-adhesive drilling template supplied along with screws and plugs that should suit most surfaces.

Camera was easy to set up
The picture could be better as it’s not the most crisp picture I’ve seen, but I got this to spy on the dog when I am out and it’s fine for that
Great for that added bit of security in the house
You can also purchase a memory card to go inside
Also doesn’t come with a plug but most electronics these days don’t so not an issue for me
