The battery life is excellent would need to purchase some quality blades for best results, it’s powerful but accuracy is more of a challenge as holding trigger on slow is very difficult and the saw tends to run out off control unless you keep all your wits about you.

Bought this to use for a decking area in back garden to be tidied up. Got that finished in about half hour. Still plenty battery life in it. Decided to chop some bush stumps that were needing something done to them. No problem with them. Absolutely great item. Also used it on metal as two different saws in box. Again no problem. Only thing now. Have to keep telling myself. ” walk away from the saw, nothing needing sawed down at moment, keep it in the box”

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI had a decking project and was reluctant to buy a reciprocating saw with battery as thought it would not be powerful enough, Due to the amount of wood i had to cut I decided to try the Sorako saw with a 18V battery, I also bought some spare blades as the saw came with 1 wood and 1 steel blade, i was very surprised at both the power of the saw and the length of battery life between charges, the spare blades were not required as the wood blade is still sharp after a weekend of sawing wood. Very surprised and very pleased with this tool and will be looking at other Soroko tools that take the same battery to build a collection,The guide shoe swivels which is a handy feature i found for angle cuts i made and also the ease to load and change a blade if you need to that is. All in all a very good saw and very good price.

Was looking for a basic cheap cordless saw for reducing pallet wood to kindling, was surprised by the weight and power of this beast.
Very nearly returned it due to vibration in use( you really need to clamp wood in a vice or work bench), however after an hour use, very impressed with cutting ability and battery life,at 50 delivered what’s not to like!

This has turned out to be a sweet little recip saw. I’m used to big heavy Milwaukee saws, so this was really a pleasure to pick up and handle in comparison. The blade changing was really easy, and the controls operated well. Truth be told, I’ve gotten some rather uninspiring tools though Vine, but this one wound up being a winner.

I purchased this saw to remove some branches off my fruit trees and also some wooden panels.
I was really surprised at just how powerful it was for what it is. It gets the job done with ease and it comes with strong blades too. The battery seems to last a long time too and I manage to use it for the day on and off and it didn’t need to recharge until I finished,

    I can highly recommend this.

Decent electric saw, bought it to cut up some wood before taking to the tip and to cut some quite thick branches. I’ve used it quite a bit on one charge and the battery only went down by one line. Its pretty powerful and decent for the money.

What a great machine. It’s not too heavy and comes in a nice box. Unfortunately, no carry case. The battery is reliable and the saw works great! Absolutely brilliant!

This works great for all things garden, it is almost identical to one I borrowed which was a big brand and this is only different in that it doesn’t have the quality rubber on the handles or the body to grip with but the performance is on par.
It’s easy to put the blades in by pulling back the release catch and taking the blade in and out then releasing the catch. It fits my standard reciprocating blades as well, don’t know the name for the type but it has the hole in the end that latches in.
The motion is good and it’s not too loud, it easily destroyed some old trellis, and lower branches of a 20 foot fur tree.
The motor didn’t strain on the thicker cuts, you don’t need much pressure when cutting through a branch but I’ve always found rocking the angle of the blade back and forth helps a lot in speed.
The battery lasted a day of gardening then I charged it overnight and it’s been very easy to use.
I’m impressed by this and the price isn’t too bad, it sits about 10-20 pounds under the next level in quality so it would be better being a bit cheaper instead of being so close but either way it’s a solid workhorse.

    SORAKO 18V Cordless Reciprocating Saw

I’ve wanted a reciprocating saw for a little while now and since ordered this it’s saved me so much time. In the box, you get the saw, a 4Ah battery, charger and two saw blades. I am impressed that a 4Ah battery is included at this price but slightly disappointed that it doesn’t come with a carrying case but again at this price point it’s not that surprising.

I am very impressed with the battery life; I have used it a few times since I received it and only had to charge it once. When I did charge it with the included charger it was very quick to charge and has indicator lights to let you know when it’s fully charged.

So far, I have only used the wood blade to cut through timber which it had no problem doing. Very impressed with the amount of power it produces. I was able to cut through the timber in seconds. With one hand on the grip and trigger and the other hand supporting the body, I was confident with manoeuvring it into tight spaces. Like with all tools it’s important to pay attention but even when I experience a minor kickback the grip allowed me to have a firm grasp on it.

Overall it’s an extremely useful tool and I am very impressed with the amount of power it produces and the battery life. Absolutely no problem with it so would definitely recommend it for a DIY’er.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI have been in the market for a good reciprocating saw to manage my big garden. There are lots of tree trunks and suburbs that are not manageable from a traditional chain saw. Hence I need something that is easy to handle, lightweight and have sharp blades to do the job quickly.

I came across this brand couple of months ago where i bought a hedge trimmer, so I am glad that I managed to find a reciprocating saw from Sorako as I want the battery to be replaced with both devices and dont want to have the clutter of two different chargers.

I am really happy with my purchase as this have made my life alot easier. So far i have used it for shrubs and tree trunks and it manages to cut them like a cake. There are two that it comes with but I only manage to use one blade. I am still survived on the single charge so i guess the battery gives you almost an 40-50mins usage on a single charge.

The only feedback I have is that it should come with more blades, but I can easily buy them separately.

Overall I am a happy customer.

I’ve been using this to make some kindling from scrap wood and have found it easy to use and control. The battery didn’t take long to charge, although it adds significant weight to the tool, it was still fairly easy to control with it being cordless. After reading the instructions, I felt quite safe; it has safety nets like a double activation trigger so you can’t accidentally set it off with a trigger finger. There is guard at the front, which can be flexed as flush as it can be against the item you’re cutting. This helps to stabilise the tool as it does vibrate a fair bit when in use. You can steady the tool at the front as there is a lip to stop your finger slipping. Handy on the go tool to make light work of cutting. Comes with two blades, one for metal and the other for softer materials like wood or plastic.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersAs ever one has to take into consideration the cost of the tool when reviewing it. Some tools of course are poor value no matter how cheap but this isn’t that. It firmly falls into the ‘Cost effective, fit for purpose’ area.

It’s not going to be able to compete with the high end brands for robustness and power for sure, but the price at around fifty five quid is very good value for money and a quick check through the Amazon site shows various versions of this sold at the same or similar price. Pick your colour and name basically.

However, if you need occasional reciprocating saw use in a DIY environment then this may well be a perfect solution unless you already are into a battery system such as the Ryobi 1+.

The quality of manufacture is fair and it’s lightweight in hand. That being said, a bit of weight helps dampen down vibes and in reality once you have engaged the cut all the mass is no longer a problem because it’s move to the cutting edge.

Battery is apparently 4Ah. Not sure I believe that to be honest as it’s a lot lighter than my other name brand 4Ah batteries and mass = metals used in batteries. It was sufficient for reasonable use though and I used it to cut some test wood and then some branches outside without a problem.

The charging of the battery is a cap that slides over the battery not a base unit. That’s fair enough as the low price does come with some fiscal realities.

Overall, if you want a cheap, effective cordless reciprocating saw for light use then this may well be a good option.

Really thought these types of saw were just for pruning things around the garden, my opinion has changed considerably, since this arrived.
Opening the box, the colouring of the tool made it look like a child’s toy gun, but picking it up felt reassuringly weighty… Top tip, don’t let the kids play with this!!
Was looking at this to help bring an unruly hedge under control, but I’d underestimated how effective this would be!! For rough cutting, this is excellent, ended up using it for trimming some attic floorboards, just 18mm chipboard, but sliced through with no fuss, did then test it on a piece that was 4″ by 4″, gave a very respectable performance!! Easy change on the blades, it comes with a wood & a metal blade, only trialled on wood/timber so far & that’s all I’m likely to use it for!!
A case would have been nice & definitely a proper charger, this one works fine, but it’s one of those transformer plugs, a thin D. C. wire, then a clip on charging block, rather than a proper charging base. Speaking of charging, there’s a 4.0 amp/hr battery, so for a tool that’s not aimed at the professional market, it’s a decent size, but running this motor will be thirsty.
Overall, a really good piece of kit.

    SORAKO 18V Cordless Reciprocating Saw
I had a hazel tree in my front garden felled a while back and I kept some of the thicker branches for future projects. The wood has dried nicely and is ready for use so I decided this was an excellent opportunity to try out the SORAKO saw. I wanted some pieces from a branch about 5 inches in diameter and from some large and very thick cardboard tube so I bought some longer J blades so they would be good for the jobs.
I put the SORAKO battery on charge overnight to make sure it would be okay and the longer blades arrived from Amazon the next day ready for the try-out.
The quick-change blade chuck made it very quick and easy to install the blade which is held securely. The battery indicator read fully charged so off we went.
I first used the SORAKO saw to cut some lengths of the cardboard tube. Until now I have held the tube up to my Bandsaw which limits the cut length to about 13 inches and it is very awkward supporting the long tube out to the right of the table. Using the SORAKO saw meant I could just clamp the tube in the vice. After I had accustomed myself to using the variable speed trigger, the saw went through the tube like butter. Turning my attention to the wood, I cut some lengths off with equally little effort and I soon had a stack of pieces ready for use.
One small criticism I have about the SORAKO saw is the trigger. Whilst it does give some variable speed of the motor, the variable part of the travel seems to be all in the first few millimetres of travel, after which it is at full speed. It is handy to start at a slow speed when beginning a cut, to get it placed right. It can be a bit tricky to get the SORAKO saw’s trigger to start the machine as slow as I would like. This may be just me and I may get used to it after more use and it doesn’t stop the SORAKO saw from being a very capable tool.
In use the SORAKO saw is not too heavy, quite well balanced and doesn’t vibrate very much.
The safety lock on the trigger prevents you from turning it on accidentally.

Changing blades is quick and easy.

The 4.0Ah Li-Ion Battery allows long use

The battery can be recharged easily with the provided fast charger.

This Reciprocating Saw is supplied in a branded box along with a high capacity 4Ah battery and charger, two saw blades, and instructions. This is a medium sized cordless 18volt saw about 360mm long and around 2.5kg with the battery. It takes standard reciprocating saw blades and is supplied with two, one for cutting wood and one for metal

The battery has to be removed to fit in the charger. It charges quickly with the red light on the charger turning green when it’s charged. The blades are simple to install by turning the collar at the end of the saw, and pushing the blade into place. It is compatible with standard blades for other brands such as DeWalt, Bosch and Makita.

It has a sturdy handle and acceleration trigger at the top which cannot be operated without a safety switch first which is an important feature. The safety switch can be operated both left and right handed which is sometimes missed. Speed is controlled by the trigger only and it has a maximum speed of 3000 strokes per minute which should be enough.

Although cordless it feels very powerful and cuts cleanly and quickly. It is a little noisy and needs to be set up carefully before being used as you control the cut. It is a handy tool and compliments a jigsaw and a circular saw offering greater flexibility although sacrificing some of the precision. It also almost replaces my handsaw and is useful in the garden for lopping branches.

This is a convenient and handy tool to use and is very versatile. This model is competitively priced and uses a large battery that lasts a long time. The ability to use standard blades from other brands enhances its usefulness and it offers the flexibility of cordless working without obviously sacrificing power.

The Reciprocating Saw works well and my only fear is if you ever need another battery which do not seem to be available anywhere your tool may become useless. Search for SBP40E1 and you may find one match at Amazon Spain saying “Not available at the moment.”

Other than the risk of not getting another battery the saw seems to work fine and I got some extra blades “Amazon Brand — Umi Reciprocating Saw Blade Set 10-Piece, Metal and Wood Cutting Saw Blades, Pruner Saw Blades with Organizer” which fit the saw.

Only used it on timber so far and other than making my arm ache for a while it has been fine.

A very sturdy and well balanced saw. As you can see in the pictures I tried it on some 10mm mild steel flat bar, which it cut through with ease. So the block of wood I also tried was like cutting paper.
Blades are easy to install with the “no tool” chuck. Has a nice variable speed trigger (with safety lock)
The battery is quite heavy duty so you get a decent amount of work time in one charge.

This Lightweight Reciprocating Saw from SORAKO is a great tool at a very reasonable price. With a 4.0Ah Li-Ion Battery should give you a long running time, however recharge is fast via the 1.6A Fast Charger.

Comes with two blades The maximum depth of cut is wood: 30cm, PVC: 30cm, soft metal tube: 15cm (saw blade is 30cm); metal plate: 15mm. Blades are very easy to change.

Vibration is minim with the copper motor doing its job, overall weight is not too heavy, but the battery does add more weight than a corded saw would feel so factor this in on your decision when deciding between cord or cordless.

Overall, very impressed, not a brand I knew but impressed with this product and the build quality.

    Standard reciprocal saw blade fitting

I got this saw to replace my wired reciprocating saw that recently went Kapput. It comes with one charger, a battery, one wooden saw attachment and one metal saw attachment. The battery is pretty hefty and since it’s so big, the charger basically clips onto the top of it rather than the charger being larger than the battery which seems to be more common. The saw has a quick release mechanism which is far better than my older saw which required a hex key to change blades. Just turn the locking mechanism at the front of the saw, insert the blade and lock it again and it sits firmly in.
So far I’ve used it to dismantle a wooden pallet board and there is power left in the battery still. There are 3 LED’s on the battery to allow you to test how much juice is left. It works much better than my older saw however this could simply be down to the blade being better but it cut through the nails very easily. The speed of the saw blade is directly related to the amount of pressure you put on the trigger (i.e. pulling the trigger in completely = full speed) which allows a decent amount of control when in use.
This saw is cheaper than something like a Bosch and seems to be on the higher end of a search for cordless reciprocal saws. It’s a shame that only 2 blades are supplied and given the price tag, I think 2 of each saw blade type would have been expected.

Works really well - the battery is rather hefty

A nice tool for a reasonable price. This is a good entry-level device and can be used for a variety of tasks. My only problem is that all my power tools are made by a different manufacturer so the batteries are interchangeable but this saw is on its own. However, that just means being aware when a recharge is required and plugging it in. The saw itself works well. We’ve used it for pallet destruction and fixing some fencing. I’m sure lots more tasks are waiting in the wings. The tool itself is sturdy with a good handholds and it’s easy to grip and control. It comes with both wood and metal blades and it certainly does the task well. I have no complaints.

This is a really useful tool for anyh DIY enthusiast. It makes such light work of cutting through timber and metal compared to a manual saw. Battery power is a more than ample 18v 4aH but it would have been nice to have 2 batteries included so you can continue working when one runs out. It is very comfortable to hold during use (I have another branded reciprocating saw that is not so good after just 10 minutes use) and is lightweight and easy to get into awkward spaces.

This is a nice sized 18volt reciprocating saw, being about 360mm long and 160mm tall, 210mm with the battery slid in place. With its widest part around the handle being 80mm.
It is quite heavy, just shy of 2.6kg with battery slid in place, 1.5kg without.
The blades which comes with this are 130mm long and slot into the jaws of this with ease. All you do is turn the nut at the end of this saw, then slide the blade in place and finally release the nut which will twist into place on its own. Now you’re done.
The trigger sits at the top of the handle and the safety switch rides just above that. You have to push in the safety button on either side to be able to pull the trigger.
The handle is easy to grip and keep hold of as you manoeuvre the blade through whatever you’re cutting. With the front chunky grip helping keep control of the saw itself.
It is a little noisy. Not excessively, but don’t use it a night, in a library or a court room. The vibration isn’t too bad either, making it easy to hold for longer periods of use.
The 4.0Ah Li-ion charges in no time, the little red light on the charger unit turning green when it’s charged. With lights on the battery itself telling you how much power’s left.
The two blades you get with this are pretty strong and have handles cutting through wooden fence posts like a hot knife through butter.
In all, even though I had never heard of the Sorako brand I am impressed with this cracking tool which will really come in handy many, many times.

…is a pleasure to use. As I get older I begin to appreciate any help with my D.I.Y., especially in the area of tools. A reciprocating saw like this is a no-brainer as it is almost the best thing since sliced bread – in the D.I.Y. department that is.

This saw is light weight and yet strongly built. Blade changing is simple, very simple indeed. In use you can decide on the speed you need by using the trigger – the more you pull it in the faster the speed – and it soon makes cutting, especially in awkward places, a doddle.

Like all electric tools, you have to get used to using it and surprisingly this took very little time to become second nature in use. It came with a couple of blades, but I bought a good selection beforehand, so now I have most eventualities covered.

In short this is a well made tool with great battery life, well balanced, feels right in the hands and even looks good – lovely blue colour. What’s not to like.

While the name may not be familiar this is a great all round saw, with blades which are standard fitting so are easily obtainable when replacements are required.

It’s battery powered with a decent 4000 mAh 18V battery and charger. Two blades are supplied — one course toothed for tree wood and the other fine toothed for general materials (metal, plastic etc).

The blades are easily fitted, with just a quick quarter turn to lock. The hand grip is positive and comfortable with some soft plastic to aid grip. Using the saw is easy and it makes light work of jobs which would otherwise require hand sawing.

    Good quality and works well.

  45. PaulaToRot says:

A reciprocating saw is a bit of a halfway point between a circular saw and a jigsaw – you don’t get quite the same neatness of cut as with a circular saw, but you have a bit more flexibility in how you use it.

This rechargeable saw feels reasonably well built – not up to the standard of Bosch Professional, but it doesn’t feel as if it will fall apart after a few uses. With the battery fitted, it is quite heavy, but it is well-balanced and not tiring to hold, with useful padding on the shaft to make it more comfortable in use.

A battery, charger and two blades (one fine tooth, one coarse tooth) are included. The blade chuck is spring-loaded, making blade swaps easy, and the safety interlock is easy to use for both left and right handed users.

I tried it on the remaining stump of last year’s Christmas tree with the coarse blade, and it went through it in 20 seconds or so with little difficulty.

If you are going to be using a saw on a daily basis, you’d be wise to spend a bit more on something from a reputable brand, but for occasional DIY use, this is fine.

I received this item through the Amazon Vine programme.
This is a lightweight reciprocating saw, much lighter than my corded one, and easier to use: it has a variable speed trigger as opposed to a separate speed dial and that works well once you get used to it.
I don’t think it’s as powerful as a corded saw, but that’s true of most cordless vs corded tools. It’s effective nonetheless, and well formed, comfortable to hold and use.
It comes with a 4 amp/hr battery which is an improvement over a lot of the similar items I have seen that only offer a 2 amp/hr battery. It’s a feature worth bearing in mind considering you only get one battery supplied.
The charger is basic: red light when charging, green when charged.
Two blades are supplied (wood & metal), the fitting of the blades is the standard reciprocal saw fitting that is virtually universal.
Being cordless it excellent when working in the garden, no trailing extension leads.
Retailing at 69.99 it’s around market average, but bearing in mind you get a decent size battery with this one I think it’s decent value for money.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersAfter using either a jigsaw or circle saw to cut everything from pallets to ply to holes in wood panel, this is exactly what I needed that works as a tool between those
Cuts through wood faster than jigsaw but with more precision and ability to get in tighter spots than a circle saw
The blade fitting is a regular style so easy to get compatible blades as well as different sizes
Although I mainly bought for wood and use an angle grinder for metal, found this a nice tool to grab for a couple of small bits of pipe I’ve needed to cu

Great peice of kit. Comes with a large capacity 4.0mah battery which should last for most jobs you will be doing with this tool. It also comes with 2 different blades. One is for wood and it cuts smooth and nice. The other is metal and cuts as expected nice for sheet metal and small metal bars up to specification in the manual. Worth it if you are on a budget decent budget tool.

Golden Review Award: 12 From Our UsersVery small and powerful with a huge battery life and it’s not for easy use, I was using it to replace my whole fence 50m of fence so I needed to cut wood the entire day, the blades that came up with they were useless with low to none quality so I had to buy some Bosch ones but I paid for the tool not for the blades, I expected blades to be just a bonus, overall this saw made my life easier to cut anything in the yard.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersSo we had a large tree stump that needed to be removed, we were struggling with the roots underneath. This was amazing, stick it in the soil and cut! Probably not what your supposed to do with it but worked a treat!

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis is a great saw, and it made my job real easy and effortless when I used it to cut loads of branches that were overhanging into my garden. What makes this great value for money is that it comes with a really powerful battery that lasted me ages, a charger, and spare blades with a real easy to change blade system. I must have been gardening for over an hour and this didn’t run out on me so I’ve not had to charge it again yet.

As this isn’t one of the well known brands, before purchasing this I contacted the seller first to ensure that this took blades from other manufacturers and they confirmed they that it does and that is why I brought it. The seller also confirmed that they will be selling spare batteries separately as well soon so you have piece of mind that if the battery goes or you need more blades then you can always get hold of them.

I’m really happy with this saw as it’ also has a safety lock feature, which is really important to me as I have had an accident in the past with one that didn’t have a safety lock. Normally the more expensive ones have this feature so I was so glad this came with it as it makes a really big difference in safety, which people don’t realise until an accident happens unfortunately.

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersVery happy. Cuts like butter and perfect for cutting up loads of pallets we have on site. Doing building work and also make cabins so always need a good reciprocating saw on hand. Nice size, good hand grip and weights balanced well. Comes with a wood blade plus a metal blade which have not needed yet. Pretty powerful but doesn’t feel like it’s going to run away from you. One battery and charger which seem small initially but so far it’s lasted really well so very happy with it. Absolutely a time saver if you need the saw out constantly for ‘small’ jobs. Love it. I have had several of these now and they eventually die as I’m a heavy user but this one feels the nicest to use, def recommend it and good price, cheers
