I kinda balked at the price but it’s totally worth it. Easy to install (didn’t have a 10mm drill but but just picked something slightly smaller than the bolt). Works great.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis is a well-designed mount that s very sturdy and versatile. I love the way the bikes will pivot when they are hanging to be able to get at them or things next to them easily. The only reason they don’t get 5 stars is that the instructions say to use a 10mm drill bit for mounting. This is necessary if mounting into masonry as that is the size needed for the inserts. I suppose you can use the inserts if you’re mounting into a stud or timber, but it weakens the wood and the holding power compared with using a smaller drill bit (5.5mm or 7/32) for the lag screw to go directly into the wood.

Once you figure out the height you want them at it isn’t bad to hang the racks. I decided to use 2×6 boards for the big bracket and 2×4 for the bottom tire mount. Should have used 2×6 for tire bracket also because the screws are spaced apart and close to the edge of the board. Since used 2×6’s I went and bought 16 lag screws that are 1.5 inches long and put one in each hole for extra measure instead of using just 2 that they recommend.

Here are a couple things to look out for when hanging the brackets.

    1) I am gonna swing my bikes to the left and you will see in one of my pics where I used my multi tool to cut 1 inch off the left side of that bottom tire bracket. So when you swing the bikes as far as they can go that plastic piece that sticks out hits your spokes. I didn’t want to risk bending spokes by the bikes getting bumped into or anything. Cutting the one side off does not hurt anything. If you cut both sides it may not secure the wheel as well is my guess.

Update: I spoke with Steady Rack and they said the bottom wheel is suppose to rest on the outside of the cup. So if your gonna swing your bike to the left then you would take the bottom wheel and place it on the left side outside of the cup and vise versa if you swing the bike to the right. So your wheel will be resting against the wall and the side of the plastic cup. This way nothing can touch your spokes. If you want to keep the wheel off of your wall then you could cut down the one side like I did to keep it in the cup so you don’t mar up your wall.

    2) I had the bikes spaced 3 feet apart at first. Measuring from the top center hole on one rack to the other rack in the top center hole. The handlebars of the bike on the right would hit the other bike’s rim. They are now spaced 43 inches apart and do not hit as you can see in the pic.

    3) The plastic pieces are finicky to get on. If you can get one side and the the middle 2 clips in lightly bump the other side with the bottom of a hammer handle to get it in. Little bit bit of a pain but they do go on.

I originally ordered the racks with fenders and sent them back. The front piece that holds the tire in is plastic versus metal like on the mountain bike racks. Seemed like a breaking point for me. So I ordered the mountain bike ones and I am removing the fenders from the bike. I noticed you have to be super careful not to scratch the rear wheel fender by putting the bike in and removing it. My back fender hit the concrete several times. So you will scrape it up.

The racks are pretty easy to get the bikes in and out of once mounted. They do swivel nice and easy. A few quirks I think but I do recommend the racks.

Nice racks but could use a couple tweaks.

Perfect solution to store our bikes and create more space in our garage. Fairly simple installation; the covers that go over the bolts were a bit tricky to snap in place, but otherwise easy to install. We like that they swivel so you can tuck them closer to the wall. Sturdy material. Highly recommend.

100% happy with purchasing these. If you just watch the installation video that comes on a QR code in the instructions, it’s not that technical or difficult to install and use these. Just plan and measure ahead and you’ll be fine. Definitely got our money’s worth. Highly recommend these bike wall racks, especially for the pivot feature.

Wir haben etwas gesucht, dass platzsparend ist. So sind wir hier drauf gestoen. Gute Verarbeitung.

    Richtig gut!

I have several bikes that were in the way in the garage. The Steady Rack is a great way to store bikes out of the way and use space efficiently. They are easy to assemble and built well and very easy to use. In anticipation of getting my son an adult size bike, I installed an extra mount and currently store his size 20 bike on a MTB Steady Rack.

A bit of a challenge to get it at the right height. Once done easy to use if you can pull your bike up onto the back wheel only. Pivots so the bikes won’t stick out as far from the wall. You do generally have to move a couple of bikes if they are against the wall but a small price to pay for more room.

Easy to install and the pivot feature is a huge differentiator. However, followed the instructions perfectly and the bracket for the rear tire just doesn’t make any sense when you swing the bike to the side as the tire will not say in the block.

A great rack for our E Bikes. Mounted a 2X12 to the studs and attached the rack to that. Measured so that when the bike is vertical we only had to lift them 1-2 inches to get them on the rack. Works like a champ! A little pricey ut you get what you pay for. Highly recommended.

I bought 4 of these racks, 2 of the larger ones for full suspension mountain bikes and 2 of the smaller racks for road bikes. I have a single car garage and needed to get the bikes out of the way in order to park the car in the garage. Easy to install overall, I just mounted 2×4″ studs to the wall then mounted these directly to the rack. Very easy to get the bikes in and swing it to the side. Pricey but it was well worth it.

Bought these along with another set for beach cruisers with fenders. The Mt. Bike version is definitely heavy duty and fits my 2.4″ knobby tires well without any hang ups that others mentioned. My installation varied a little from the instructions, but overall it was straight forward and should be easy for anyone with experience mounting heavy things to walls. I had to use 2×4’s to bridge the gap between two studs where I wanted to attach the rack. Overall it took about 30 minutes. Very happy with the design and function of these racks. They may be expensive, but they work great and nobody else sells anything like these.

Happy so far. Very simple idea to make bike mount rotatable, but for some reason not many manufacturers are using this idea. This mount works as advertised. It easily holds my road bike. Installation instructions are very clear, it took me 15 minutes to install it. The construction looks reliable, all parts that hold the bike weight are metal.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersWe bought two of these mountain bike racks to install in our garage about a month ago and installed them quickly thereafter. It took some time to configure how we wanted to store our two mountain bikes alongside our two road bikes (for which we bought the classic road bike version of this same rack). And then it took a learning curve to figure out how to install them, but once we got the first one installed, the other three were much faster to install.

We were so excited to hang up our bikes and see how easy it was to get our bikes off them! Road bikes had no problem and worked like a dream coming in and out of the rack and swiveling to the sides. Mountain bikes went IN and swiveled to the sides like a dream, but as soon as we tried to pull our mountain bikes OFF the rack – as if we were taking them to go for a ride, we could not budge them! We discovered the metal-loop-rack-tire-rest-thing was getting lodged in between the knobs of the tread on our mountain bike tires! It took one person pushing up on the tire and another person at the handlebars to get the bike off the rack! (By the way, the tires getting stuck were the Maxxis Minion DHF 29X2.50WT and Maxxis Dissector 29X2.40WT. So well within the parameters marketed by the company: Designed for bikes with: Wheel Diameter: 20” — 29”; Tire Width: 2.1”– 2.8”.) So we emailed the company directly and they had no immediate solution ideas for us.

We were bummed for a little bit until we came up with a DIY solution that kind of helped. We bought some half-inch funny pipe in the sprinkler-irrigation section of our local hardware store. Cut it down to size, split it open, and pried it onto the metal-loop-rack-tire-rest-thing (see pictures). That mostly solved it. The Maxxis Minion DHF 29X2.50WT still gets wedged on it, but we found if we just grab the tire and rim and pull, then it will roll off easily enough. Luckily, it seems to have fully solved the problem for the Maxxis Dissector 29X2.40WT wherein we can grab the handlebars and the tire rolls off easily enough.

So yeah, nice sturdy racks, little learning curve to install, little on the expensive side, had to solve a problem on our own, but overall we’re very happy with the racks compared to the bike organization we had before (which was just piling them up against each other against a wall. Boo.). We hope someone else finds this information helpful! Good luck.

Let me start by saying I want more of these, but my wallet has frozen my bank accounts (and reminds me I want to build bikes too…). Alas. For my other 4 bikes in my garage I use the hoists and they’re fine (just slower and a bit inconvenient… but they’re $5 each.)

They’re well built. I’ve only folded them to the wall a handful of times because they’re almost always in use. Most of the time I just let them stay extended so I can roll my bike straight back in. You can stagger them to move them closer which is nice but you’ll still have to fight with some handlebars if you do that. Tilting is my favorite feature and lets me tilt the bikes to look at them quick for reference or to slide out of the way for me to access something nearby.

These racks are well made from heavy duty materials, would be a 5 star rating BUT a mountain bike tire with aggressive side knobs (e.g. Specialised Butcher 29 x 2.30 that is well within the published width limits for this rack) gets stuck and makes rolling the bike out next to impossible without an awkward lift and pull (largely defeating the purpose of the rack!). The space between each side knob slots into the stainless steel rods and holds the wheel in place a little too snugly making a difficult lift and pull. I solved the problem by making a wooden form that fits into the bottom of the Vee (actually more of a U) which holds the bike a couple of inches higher in the rack and the knobs clear of the rods (see photo). The wooden form is double sided and sandwiches a piece of plywood in the middle. I’m very happy with the subsequent function of this rack.

I got these racks when I moved to a house with a smaller garage. In the past I’d used the simple wall hooks. Simply put, these are the best out there. My wife was thrilled to be able to just roll her bike onto the rack and the ability to pivot them allowed me to rotate them into a corner and keep them out of the way until we needed them. The installation was very straightforward and all needed hardware is included. They aren’t inexpensive, but they are more than worth the price. We love them!

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersMy husband and I are in our 60s. We had purchased e-bikes and we wanted them as out of the way as possible when not in use. Our search for something that met our garage space issues didn’t go well. First we tried ceiling hooks but discovered our bikes were too heavy to be lifting them up that high. Then we bought an inexpensive double bike rack that attached to the wall. It was a bear to install but once done looked like it was just the ticketuntil we realized it was designed to accommodate “male” bikes only. Our bikes are step through.
But when I found these on Amazon I thought “this looks pretty good”. The racks themselves are very low profile. To load a bike we just set the height (per instructions) so we could leave the back tire on the floor and just roll the bike up onto the rack. No lifting!
The best part, though, is once you load it the bike swivels to the wall (either direction) and keeps it out of your way. Genius!

    We’ll worth the investme

The rack was pretty easy to install. I used a studfinder to ensure it was going into solid wood. It would be helpful if they told you what size drill bit to use, rather than having to guess. I didn’t have a socket wrench so went to buy one. The directions say the bolts are 1/2″, but it takes a 13 mm socket.
My husband has an ebike and cannot get the bike unto the rack with the battery on it (too heavy). With the battery out, he is able to put it in the rack, but not easily. Hopefully, it’ll get easier with some practice.

Very simple install. Would strongly recommend a hammer drill which will make quicker work of driving the lag screws into studs without much fuss. You’ll also want a good quality stud finder that will help you find the center of the studs. Only thing I could have done better is to vary the mount height a little more to allow the bikes to fold together a bit more when pivoting them to the wall. If you don’t stagger the mount height enough the handle bars will be aligned and prevent the bikes from folding quite as well. Otherwise these things are built like a tank and are easy to mount/in mount the bikes. Bout five of them and was able to mount on five consecutive studs. Takes up much less space in the garage. Very pleased.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersWe ordered these bike racks from Cape Town, South Africa as there is nothing similar available here.
We are really pressed for space in our garage and so these are definitely the answer. To be honest, putting them up at just the right height was not as simple a task as described in the instructions or as seen in the video!! We employed a handy man to put them up and the first attempt was not correct as they were too high to just wheel the bike into the racks. We have ebikes which are heavy … We had them reinstalled and, although we can wheel the bikes into them, now the tyres rest on the floor and so it is difficult to angle the bikes and keep the tyre in the wall holder.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our Usersit was very easy to install. But… there is a learning curve to loading your bike on it. But once you get the hang of it it’s very easy. I’m female, 5’4″ and only 100 lbs. I struggled the first time I tried to load my bike on the rack. But I learned that when you tip your bike up on the back tire you have to hold the back brake. Once you get the bike raised up on the back tire then let go of the brake and roll the bike right onto the rack. And when you remove the bike from the rack hold the back brake again. Once the bike rolls off the rack then you let go of the brake, roll the bike back, hold the brake again and lower the front tire down. Now that I know that it’s a piece of cake. I love how the bike is off the ground and I can swing it out of the way and still get the car in the garage.

Very solid mount, it even holds my heavy as a tank eMTB with 2.8″ wide tires with no discernible deflection. The tire does wedge itself in there a bit and takes a little more effort to pull the bike down but it is at the max width this mount is designed for. The narrower tire on my jump bike doesn’t have any problem. Now I need them to make a fat bike version for my Ice Cream Truck.

So far works well with my 2 e-bikes. Very well constructed product. Since both bikes weigh in excess of 50 lbs., be sure to locate and mount on wood beams behind my garage dry wall. Each back is securely supported. Although it works best with fender less front tire, I’m still able to mount even with my “fendered” front. I’ve been sure avoid damage to my fender.

We have 24″ to 29″ six mountain bikes. I grabbed 6 of these racks and have loved the ease of use. My 10 yr old can easily load/unload his bike, as can the rest of us.

Product is so worth it and is a huge space saver. Just find a stud and it is so simple.
I love how the bike can swivel from left to right taking up even less space. Great product!

This rack is pricey, yes, but imo is the best wall mount bike storage solution on the market.

Easy install, solid construction, fully functional, easy to use.

If you have a limited amount of space, being able to stagger, and angle the bikes makes storing them a piece of cake.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI had a very small space to work with to store my and my husband’s MTBs in our condo’s coat closet. I opted for these racks because of the great reviews and ease of installation.

Pros: super sturdy, good swivel, great resources on their website to help you decide how to hang them (I had to stagger because of the narrow space).

Cons: the anchors they include for the 1/2″ bolts to use in sheet rock or masonry are not great. I went ahead and used them because I was able to have at least one bolt screwed into the wood on top and bottom. If you pull the rack away from the wall (some resistance whenever you’re offloading your bike), the bolts come out of the wall slightly. I didn’t have much choice on where I mounted these (if I couldn’t line it up with a stud, I had to deal with sheet rock because of the small space to work with). But, I highly recommend you either 1) get your own wall anchors OR 2) Mount these where you can line them up with a stud. The actual construction of the rack is phenomenal, so if you can get the attachment to the wall tightly secured, you’re good as gold.

    Overall, I recommend these racks.

Great racks, but difficulties w/ mounting through sheet rock

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersThese are awesome! I spaced them 32″ apart and mounted on every other stud so my 3 bikes can lay as flat as possible against the wall. I varied the mounting height of each unit just a bit so the handle bars can touch the wall. If they were all mounted at the same height, bars and seats would’ve collided. Recommend getting a second person to help install to maximize handle bar clearance and space savings if that’s a concern. I had mine in a pretty narrow room where floor space was at a premium.

Good racks but not economical. For the price should have a cable lock included.

Hubby got two of these for the garage and we love them! So easy to install and takes zero effort to get your bike up onto the rack. Great value.

I got these after trying some cheaper ones that costed about half of what these cost. Just get these, don’t waste your time on some other garbage. Bikes cost thousands of dollars, invest a decent rack that will cost a fraction of your bike.

I have a plus tire enduro/trail bike with 27.5 x 2.8 , fit no problem. Very pleased with this purchase.

Great to keep bikes in small space, very easy to get the (mountain) bikes in and out. Very happy so far.

These racks are so, so nice. I’m loving them, and regretting that I didn’t get them earlier. Only downside is my son’s small BMX bike (20″ wheels) doesn’t really fit–it works, but not as well as the rest of our bikes.

I bought this thinking I would receive the Classic Rack, but got the MTB rack instead. Luckily still fits my bikes.

Installation takes a bit of work but is not terrible. Does allow for compact storage of bikes and are well made. Best rack I have found.

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersInstalled all three in about an hour. I do recommend a good stud finder to help center the fasteners to the studs. I offset the racks and installed them sixteen inches on center. Still pretty easy to install. Will take time to get use to removing and installing the bikes. If you are looking for the bikes to be flush you will need to remove a pedal and loosen the handle bars. The way I have them installed and leaving everything alone, the bikes stick out thirty six inches from the wall and sixty eight inches along the wall. Both mountain bikes have twenty nine inch rims.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersI did a lot of shopping around and chose steadyrack- great choice.
Don’t waste time looking at other options. They are a little expensive, I bought 4, but if you have limited space and want to be able to fold them against a wall for even more space- buy these.

I had no choice but to mount in drywall so I used lag bolts and they worked great.

    Steadyrack is all you need
