If you’ve ever tried the Syma S107 which was my very first R/C Helicopter, this is even better. Unlike the S107 which is 3.5Ch the S40 is 4.5Ch. This means the chopper will, for want for a better term strafe right and left – so fly directly left or right. The other great thing is the S40 comes with two batteries, so you can effectively double your flight time. One battery on full charge will easily last in excess of 7 mins, of course it goes without saying that obviously the batteries on this unit are removable unlike the S107 where they were soldered in, making changing the batteries more challenging.
This helicopter flies like a dream, it may look a little odd with the upward facing side propellers, but these allow you to fly directly to the left or right, which provide the extra controller channels.
There are two speeds as well, although I’ve not tried the faster speed as yet, but it flies fast enough on the default setting.
Overall a great item, and a decent step up from the S107 which is also a capable little chopper.
Very easy to fly, my 10 year loves this. It is certainly an improvement on cheaper options in terms of range and ease of flying.
The only slight disappointment is it needs to be very still to use it outside.

Easy to set up out of the box. Some brands are really difficult to fly and damage easily when you invariably crash them into various objects around the house. However, this one seems to be fairly robust, has a simple controller and is easy (even for relative novices like us) to fly and control. My son is very happy with this and will hopefully have hours of fun.
