Glad this battery is back on Amazon. Saw a vid review..wanted it…was no longer available on Amazon. After a few months…popped back into my Wish List. Really good product. Not sure how it feels w/the normal strap, but I use it w/a halo style headstrap & forget it’s there.

I like the large capacity this has!

It is a little annoying to deal with two separate pieces (I have enough trouble getting the headset on and off while holding the controllers, so trying to deal with a separate piece that has to be plugged in, too, is a bit of a juggle for me). But it is nice that it doesn’t add any weight to the headset.

It’s comfortable enough to wear, and easy to conform to whatever shape is most comfortable for you.

It can get a little uncomfortable if you’re hot and work up a sweat, but I suspect that is more a problem for people like me with long, *thick* hair than for the average person.

    Excellent Capacity

So far, the charge seems to hold and charges up my Oculus faster than the batteries that attach to the headset. I am very pleased with the purchase.

I am so happy with my purchase. I can now play for hours if I wanted. I tried one that is attached to your strap of the head band, not the best to use. I also had on the goes directly into the charging slot. It kept falling out. This is so easy to put on the plug in.

So far this battery is working well. I was able to get 1 to 1.5 hour or extra play time with this pack. I did turn off a few features in the headset to try and maximize the battery life but your mileage may vary. I like that the armature of the unit can be formed and stay that way rather than have it dangle around my neck. It certainly is a better solution than adding more weight to the headset. My concern is that when I turn my head quickly, I could feel the cable getting slightly yanked. While it hasn’t been a problem where the cable become unplugged, it’s something I’ll need to keep an eye on. I’ll update this review with more findings as I continue to use this battery pack.

This adds a significant amount of playtime to my Quest Pro. It’s well-designed and comfortable; I forget I’m wearing it. It coils up and fits in the accessory pocket of my Quest Pro carrying case.

The battery pack is lightweight and easy to wear around the neck, making it perfect for wearing while gaming, or for travel or outdoor activities. The 8000mAh capacity provides enough power to charge most smartphones multiple times, or to provide several additional hours of gaming time, on the Oculus.

The battery pack is easy to charge, via the USB-C connection, and comes with a USB cable for charging. However, it did not come with the power brick, so you will have to provide one — I used the one that charges my phone. The built-in LED indicators are also a nice touch, making it easy to know how much power is remaining.

Overall, this is an excellent battery pack, that is well worth considering, for anyone who needs a convenient and reliable way to keep their devices charged.

This is an awesome design. I usually use a battery back in a fanny pack around my waist. I have tried mounted battery banks but they were always too heavy. This AMVR battery pack is the best charging solution I have come across.

I’ve used this to extend the battery life and play time of my (gently aging) Quest 1.

    What I liked:
The battery pack is comfortable to wear; and once immersed in the middle of a game, you don’t notice it resting on your shoulders. It’s also preferable to adding battery weight to the headset which can cause neck fatigue sooner
Adds another 3ish hours playtime to a Quest device
LED lights on the pack display the remaining charge
This battery pack works with more than the Quest 2; it’s an 8000 mAh battery back with anything that can be charged by USB (with the right cable).

    What I didn’t like:
The USB cable to your device really needs a clip to keep it away from the field of vision – occasionally it can get annoying on the side of your face
Price is steep, when compared to a higher capacity battery pack that can be put in the back pocket instead

This is not bad. Very robust and extremely light to wear around the neck. Takes a couple of hours to charge and gives approximately another 3 – 4 hours play time on the VR. We have tried other battery packs and this is the lightest one. Price is just a little over compared to other battery packs but its lighter and feels comfortable so a few extra quid for comfort is worth it.

Well made, comfy on shoulder that you forget you have it on, runs my Pico 4 for ages.
    But….
My friend just purchased a larger capacity powerbank (10,000mAh) for a10, which he puts in his pocket, from Argos and a USB-C to USB-C lead for 4 on ebay and it does the same thing, for longer game time, for)half the price.

I got this fir my partner to expand the battery life of his VR set. There were many times he would want to keep playing but the battery would be running out. This has added extra play time without adding any weight or too much wiring. It is a must have accessory if you want to freely play for as long as you want.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis product simply rocks! I got my son an Oculus Quest2 for Christmas and noticed it only gave him two hours of play time. I purchased this as a back up and crossed my fingers that it would work. After receiving in fully charging this product, the longest he’s been on his Oculus, with it not dying, has been nearly 4 1/2 hours. Even after the 4 1/2 hrs, this product still had 2 lit lights and his oculus was nearly fully charged. I AM IMPRESSED!! This is definitely a great buy. This product is extremely comfortable to wear and extremely flexible. I am able to fold it and put it in his oculus to-go case. You will NOT be disappointed!

I’m really quite impressed with this battery pack. It’s a great solution for providing more power to my VR headset without adding extra weight to the headset itself. basically you have a neck band with a battery pack at each end, ensuring that the band is balanced and stays comfortably in place. A flying lead with a USB-C connector is attached at one end, with just enough cable so that it doesn’t restrict movement.

Overall it has worked well for me so far, I’m generally happy with this product.

This is a clever solution for adding battery life to your VR headset without adding weight to your head. It works well, is easy to use and isn’t too chunky to wear or store. I definitely prefer this to a battery that attaches to the headset and would recommend this.

When looking for an extra battery for my son for his Meta Quest 2, I did not like most of the options out there adding extra weight to the device itself did not seem like a good choices, then I saw this and decided to give it a try. This battery pack is perfect, my son doesn’t even notice it hanging around his neck no matter what games he is playing, he plugged the battery pack into a completely dead headset and was able to play no problem for 2 hours and then left the battery charging the headset when he was done and it charged it to 75% so plenty of life in the battery pack. The battery pack takes 2-4 hours to charge from dead depending on the type of charging block being used.

My son has an Oculus Quest 2, so we got this for him. Sometimes he forgets to charge the headset and doesn’t realize it until he wants to play with his friends. With this neck charger, he can throw it around his neck, plug it in and play. It will charge the headset while he plays. This works assuming he remembers to charge at least one of these items!

It has magnetic clips to ensure it doesn’t fall off your neck which were adequate enough. This is more comfortable than plopping a battery pack on the headset which adds unnecessary weight. He already looks like a total clown when he plays on the Oculus, so this charger around his neck isn’t going to look worse.

This can also be used to charge a phone in a bind.

This Quest 2 compatible battery pack is a novel idea and provides a longer period of battery life for extended playtime.

The battery pack for Quest 2 is rechargeable and contains an 8000mAh capacity. It weighs about 313g and has the same balance as the headsets. The package also includes a 90-degree USB-C charging cable and a user manual.

I was looking for a battery solution for my son’s Quest 2 since he wants to play a little longer which exceeds the usual capacity of the battery. We were elated when this one arrived and immediately tried them. Despite its weight, it is nice that this battery has a good balance which sits securely around the neck and isn’t overly heavy. After a while of using it, we get used to it and even forget it’s even on.

All in all, this is a very handy and good-quality battery pack.

I am so thankful for this battery pack, My son got a VR for Christmas but I under estimated how long the battery would last. After a few goes through the day he came to me saying the battery had died and he wanted to finish his game.

Thankfully I was able to pull this out the cupboard to connect up to his quest 2 which extended the amount of time he could play.

It was easy and simple enough to connect up and instantly started working, thanks to it resting over his shoulders the extra weight does no put any pressure on his neck or head.

Overall I am happy with this.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersQuest Pro has short battery life and there’s already a battery on the back of the head strap, so strapping another one on would mess up the balance horribly. This helps keep the Pro running longer and adds no additional weight to your head, so less neck strain. I ordered a second one so that I can just swap them out when one gets low.

My only really complaint is that I wish the cable they included was more flexible and maybe a half a foot or so longer, so there’s enough slack to tie it down to the headstrap above my ears, to help keep it back out of the way from my vision and tracking cameras. I just bought a 3ft braided cable and tied down the unwanted slack.

This is a great solution if your find the VR headset is too heavy with an aftermarket battery attached.

I have battery headset that gives me a headache after wearing for extended periods of play. The headset just becomes too heavy after wearing for more than 30 min. This is a great 8000mAH alternative that will go over the neck. After trying this as an alternative, it has alleviated the pressure in my head when playing for extended period. Now I always use this!

It is Type C chargeable but it does not come with its own charging block, so you will need to use your PC or a wall charger. It does come with a cable but the battery time is fantastic. I love the fact it is neck wearable.

It comes with a 12-month warranty so you know it is quality and I have no issue with this at all works great.

    Great Battery Alternative

I have only just received my new Quest 2 a few weeks ago as a Christmas present, and I am still getting used to how it all works.

I wanted to order this battery pack to help boost the battery if it was required/possible.

It certainly has improved the battery performance, but not by an amazing amount. Just enough to notice the difference and for it to be a great addition for those times when you need that little bit more juice to keep you going until the end of your session.

It’s easy to attach and it feels comfortable along the back of my neck. I don’t even notice it’s there now as I’ve got used to it.

If you do not mind something hanging off your neck while wearing the Oculus, this is a decent extra battery source. I did not notice something was around my neck for most of the time I was wearing it although this is only meant for more stationary viewing (like watching movies) rather than for active simulation. I have not yet tested to see how much longer of viewing time I can squeeze out of a fully-charged battery on top of my Oculus battery but this is sufficient coverage for most movies.

This battery pack was actually way better quality than I was expecting, I thought the part that goes around your neck would be thin and soft but it a chunky metal goose neck metal band that can be bent into any shape, it’s more like a good quality bike lock.
While there is a bit of weight to this item it is surprisingly comfortable to wear, in fact you don’t really notice it’s there when you have the headset on.
Provides a lot of extended play which if you are playing with all the family at Christmas is great.

When I spotted this I was intrigued as I’d never seen a battery for the Oculus like this before. I decided to get it for my son to try out and initially he said he didn’t think it was going to be for him as he wasn’t sure about having something around his neck whilst trying to play, but after trying it out, he was sold. Here’s what he said:

“I’m really impressed with this neck battery. I didn’t think it was going to be comfortable and maybe get annoying when playing but as it turns out, I hardly noticed it was there after a short while. I’ve got a head strap with a battery as well as a normal head strap, and compared to the one with the battery, this neck strap makes the headset a lot less heavy, which I prefer. My headset was fully charged when I tried this out, and I got hours and hours of play before I even had to think about recharging. I think this is a brilliant way to have an extra battery and is really awesome for me to take with me when having sleepovers at mates. I would highly recommend it”

These are a great backup when I’m using my Quest 2 but I have been able to use it for a whole lot more! There’s nothing that makes it strictly for the Quest 2 so it can be used with pretty much anything. Myself, I’ve used it to provide extra power for my video rig and it has been a lifesaver a couple of times already. Definitely worth the money to add to your mobile video setup or any situation where you need a good power source on the move.

    Power bank

This is power bank with a USB-C output you can wear round your neck, so great with VR headsets, but you could use it with headphones, head torch, heated jacket or anything else that has a USB-C power input. It comes with a 40cm USB-C to right angled USB-C lead.

The device has two oval batteries (9*5*2cm) connected by a permanent flexible band (1cm wide and 0.6cm thick). A short thinner magnetic link lets you separate the full loop to put on and off. Though its designed for your neck you could wear it over one shoulder – too small to go round the waist though. It not too heavy at 315g and claims 800 mAh.

One of the ovals has a on/off switch and the USB-C input/output, which is located near the thick band. It isn’t actually clear if both ovals actually contain a battery, or just one side but both ovals seems to weigh the same so its balanced. Pressing the on-off button shows the power level via 4 LEDS (though you will have trouble seeing it whilst wearing)

Arrives in a white branded cardboard box, with decent product information.

Good, flexible to wear and simple USB-C input/output - not just for VR

Really a huge hit at my house . My kid is wearing it in the pic . The battery packs have magnets that make a connection on the bottom so it stays in place and can be taken off fast in case you’re up playing with your oculus instead of sleeping like you’re supposed to . It’s nice to not have the battery pack weight on the head . I had been looking at the upgraded battery pack when I bought the quest but it was already a very expensive purchase and I needed something to bribe my tween with so I didn’t buy it . Technically I ordered this as a Christmas gift for my kid but I wanted to inspire him to do things beyond fighting with his sister and so far I think it’s worked . The only negative thing is that now Iv gotten one kid this I’m probably going to need to get the other kid this too . Sibling rivalry is just so (not)fun . Ok so yes it’s awesome , unless you’re trying to decrease oculus play time . It’s a great place to hold batteries instead of your head , unless you’re trying to buff up your neck muscles . If you want a buff neck then the battery you wear on your dome might be better . Let’s see how long it lasts , my kid breaks things . So far so good ,so that’s a positive sign . It’s very compatible with the quest .my kids love or hate things and this is a love . Overall it’s a great addition to the quest functionality. I’m pretty sure it’s a lot less expensive then the ORM upgraded head battery . It really extends the battery life . Before my kid was trying all kinds of goofy things to extend his battery life . Like trying to play while plugged in . He cut a hole in his shorts to run the power cord thru up to the quest . Yeah I had to talk to him about that not being a proper solution. So this is saving me from sewing up holes in my kids shorts . I have zero regrets about ordering this .

This neck hanging power bank is a novel idea but one that works quite well. It can extend playtime for up to 4 hours on the Oculus Quest thanks to the 8,000mAh battery, so you can carry on gaming without interruption for longer.

Traditional Oculus power banks will slot into the headset itself or be built in, which adds weight to the headset and in some cases makes it more uncomfortable, whereas this power bank hangs around your neck to avoid adding additional weight to the headset itself.

It sits securely around your neck and isn’t overly heavy at around 400 grams. After a while, you get used to it and forget it’s even on.

All in all, it’s a good power bank to extend playtime and a novel idea.

I have an Oculus Quest 2 and have to have it plugged into the mains when i have extended gaming sessions – the battery on the Quest is okay but demanding games can reduce it’s life substantially. Normally i result to sitting down and tethering myself to a plug socket which isn’t ideal.

This external battery pack is actually a really great idea. You hang it around your neck and use a short USB C cable to trickle charge the Quest whilst playing. The device does feel a little heavy when you first get it, but when hung around your neck i didn’t even really notice it was there – it is strangely comfortable! The battery pack has a really strong magnetic clasp to stop if falling off when playing active VR games. Having tested this extensively i love it!

The design is very good and the build quality feels very good too. It feels comfortable on my neck and makes it easier to have on. I struggled a little to find where the type c plug is because it blends in well but after I found it I could easily find it. The magnets work well to keep it closed and you can move around quite a bit easily. It also works better than a battery bank on the headset or other designs that I’ve seen and makes it so it doesn’t change the weight distribution much and it doesn’t put extra weight on your head but puts it on your shoulders. The build quality is great and the plastic feels and looks good as it goes Matt to glossy to Matt cable linking the batteries on both sides. The cable is stiff enough it will hold its shape but also be easily moved. Overall this is an excellent option to extend the battery life of your quest without limiting how much you can move your head.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI am an avid user of my Quest 2, but my biggest gripe has always been battery life. I’ve been looking for an external battery for a while, but I’ve been skeptical of anything that would increase the weight of the (already) heavy VR headset.

This battery pack ticks all the boxes for me. It charges relatively quick (I doubt I’ve had it plugged in longer than 3-4 hours before a full charge) and it easily doubles the battery life of my Quest. You wear it like a necklace, so after a while in VR I honestly forget it’s even there. The connector cord to the Quest is long enough to fit many different neck lengths, but it’s short enough that it doesn’t get in the way of anything. I highly recommend.

Easily doubles the length of a VR sessio

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersAMVR has been producing accessories for the Meta/Oculus line of VR products, since the “Go” days. The idea of wearing a battery pack around the neck is a unique solution. When wearing the headset, you can hardly feel its presence, save for the coldness of the strap against the back of your neck.

The “magnetic buckle” is a unique safety detail that ensures the battery pack does not fall off your neck. However, the abundant safety warnings, about not yanking the magnets apart; suggest AMVR could have done better, by just having the 2 battery pods stick to each other directly, rather than with the thin cord/magnet combo.

The other thing I like about this unit, is that it is small and flexible enough to fit into the “official” Quest Pro carrying case. I normally haven’t had VR sessions that seriously draw down the main battery; so for me, the AMVR battery pack is more of a “feel good” piece of insurance, as it allows me to keep the main battery fully charged longer.

Small enough to fit in "official" Quest Pro carrying case

It works well with the Oculus Quest 2 and the Meta Quest Pro and even my moble phone, but since it does not support PD it slow charges my Steam Deck.

The AMVR neck battery pack is a clever way to extend the runtime of your VR headset or other electronic devices. Its weight is noticeable, but not fatiguing. The neckband is comfortable during prolonged wear; it is articulated and retains its shape, rather than flopping around like a power cable.

If you’d like to use this to charge your phone, it will do the job, but I personally wouldn’t wear it in public. Its output rating is 5V/2.4A, so it won’t deliver the efficiency of the latest and greatest fast charging standards.

The neckband also makes it convenient to hang from a tripod or stand to extend the runtime of cameras or lights. It drapes nicely over the arm of a couch, which is convenient for charging your phone without having a power bank in your lap or being tethered to the wall.

This thing may be marketed for VR, but I’m still finding other ways to use it.

Pretty cool design for this battery pack having it around your neck vs. adding extra weight having it attached to the Quest 2 headset as I’ve seen with most other batteries. I gave it a pretty good test run playing Resident Evil 4 which has me moving around a fair amount. I hardly noticed I was wearing it and my Quest 2 barely dropped charge level after 1 hr of play time. Sometimes I get ready to play the Quest 2 and realize my battery isn’t charge, so this a good accessory to have in those instances. It seems well built and packs up nicely in my Quest 2 case making for a good travel companion. As others have mentioned, it did need to be charged up about 3 hrs before for first use.

Heard about short battery life from the native headset battery on the Quest Pro, so I ordered this to help.

I’ve only used it once, but it was a longer session and this battery kept the headset from depleting completely. The headset was down to about 30% while using. I removed the headset to do something else and when I returned a while later, the headset battery was up to 87% and the battery pack was down to one dot, from five.

The flexible shaft between the two packs is soft and pliable, allowing it to drape the neck and shoulders easily. Once in place, I forgot it was there until I went to remove the headset.

    Works as intended

If you don’t have a headset that’s meant to have an extra battery, like the Elite headstrap with battery or the Bobo VR, then you’re kinda stuck jerry-rigging a battery pack with velcro or cable ties. Which is a pain. But this is a very clever solution. It goes around your neck and sits on your shoulders and plugs into your headset. The weight is nicely distributed and it doesn’t slide or slip around, I barely noticed it was there. It’s bendable and keeps it’s shape once bent, so you can adjust it to fit most comfortably on your shoulders.

Of course, it’s a battery pack, so you can also use it to charge your phone or anything else if you need to.

I got this a week ago and I have been using it ever since – it has ended up being one of my favorite Oculus accessories. It is such a simple design and it works so well. Very easy to use – the neckpiece is very flexible and the magnetic clasp pretty much closes itself once you put it on. It is comfortable, and doesn’t swing around when I play like I was worried it might. You have to charge it for about 3 hours prior to using it for the first time because it is not fully charged when you get it – I used my Oculus charging cord as they recommend. It provides several additional hours of power before needing to recharge it – it actually provides more time than I have needed but it is good to know I could play longer if I wanted to. This is a great product!

So I saw this and I was fascinated by the concept. There are a lot of spare batteries out there for the Oculus and all I have seen are attached to the Oculus itself, usually on the front or the back. Front located batteries, tend to make the Oculus overly weighted to the front, back mounted can sometimes balance it out, but add to the weight on your head. This takes a whole new approach. It instead hangs around your neck. The part that goes around your neck is flexible/poseable metal wrapped in silicone. The batteries (assuming there are batteries in both sides) are plastic. There’s a button on one to check battery levels using 4 LEDs and one USB-C port used for both charging the batteries and charging the headset, tablet, phone, or any other USB-C device. It’s 8,000 mAh, so it can charge quite a bit. During my testing I found it was a noticeable weight. It wasn’t enough to be uncomfortable, but enough to notice. During more stationary purposes, it starts to get lost (you begin to forget its there). However during more active games, or activities, it can remind you. On thing I use my Oculus for pretty often is Supernatural. IT’s a workout/fitness app with two main types of movements. One is big arm movements called Flow with similarities to Beat Saber. During the flow movements, especially any cross body movements, I would often feel the battery pack(s) tap into each other and get pushed around a bit. Not enough to interfere, but it was definitely noticeable and brings in thoughts of durability. However, I found that boxing movements affected the placement a lot less and it didn’t move around much. The silicone on the neck portion would lead me to believe there’s at least some level of sweat resistance, but since the battery parts are just plastic, it’s possible that heavy sweat may eventually be a factor in longevity. I used it for about an hour of both movement and more stationary use and my battery count was down to about 97%. This means that unlike some of the other batteries that will keep the Oculus at 100%, this outputs power a little slower than the Oculus uses it. So if you’re starting fully charged on both the amount of time you’ll have will be massively extended. However, it may not work as well if you forget to charge your Oculus and are going to try to run it at low power levels to start, since this battery likely won’t charge it as you use it.

Overall I really like it and can see many uses for it as a backup for the Oculus as well as a spare charger for other devices.

Great spare battery for Oculus or anything that charges via USB-C

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI was looking for a battery solution for my Pico 4 headset. Given how well the headset is balanced I wanted to avoid strapping an additional battery on the back of it (which I did try). This solution works better that I thought.

The cable is just long enough to not restrict head movement in any way, but short enough to prevent it getting caught on controllers. The bit that goes over your neck is soft rubber and can be easily bent to shape.

When you have the battery pack in place, the magnetic clasp joined and the neck strap bent it’s surprising how little it moves around during a play session. That was my main concern. Obviously you do feel that you have something on your neck, but it doesn’t feel heavy.

The whole thing folds up pretty compact and can be stored fine in a VR headset case.

Would definitely recommend this for headsets that already have a back battery: Pico 4, Quest Pro, and probably many more to come.

    Great Idea!

I’ve been using this with the Quest Pro for the last three days. I used it for one three and half hour session and the Quest Pro battery was still at 70%, all the lights were out on the battery pack, but it said it was still charging. By far the most comfortable battery pack I’ve bought.

I was really impressed by this battery pack! I originally bought it to use when playing VR, but what I really like is its versatility. You can use it to charge just about anything! The neck support is easily bendable but stays firm when in position and even has a magnetic clip at the bottom to help keep it right where you want it. Its sleek, light and to top it off, its powerful. When using it with my Quest 2 (that thing can pull a lot of power, trust me lol) it provides at least 3 hours of extra playtime. But with anything else that isn’t a mobile gaming device like the Quest 2, it can provide power for much longer. All around, a great buy. Thinking about buying one for my parents as its perfect for travel trips or just use around the house.
