I used this small, very cool drill for hanging expensive paintings in my den. I have about 18 paintings by a very popular artist and I get them all on canvas stretched on wooden boards. This makes the job that is my part (applying special hardware) quite simple. I was very impressed with the ease that this small drill made for me that I just ordered the special ‘large’ one with a miniature drill press. This is great for hobbies, jewelry making, and anything that you may have that demands a very small and easy to operate drill. It comes all packed up in a small aluminum case that can easily be carried in your pocket! A great gift too! Thanks for reading my review.

Really wanted to love this little drill – it’s quite well built and aesthetically designed. However, it does not seem to have enough strength to cut through what I needed – specifically, 1.4mm dual-sided copper clad FR4 material.

After about 2 minutes of firm pressing I was able to penetrate the first layer and drill a .6mm hole through almost to the other end, but it did not seem to be able to get through the second layer. Unfortunately this makes it essentially useless for me, though it does look nice on the desk.

Giving four stars as it never really claimed to be able to cut through copper. Sadly, I’ll be returning mine for a more robust small form factor drill press. I’m sure this would do well for other (softer) materials, though.

This drill is not bad. The quality on this was not bad but it is not meant to be super powerful. I really like how this particular drill is great for small projects. I work on model kits and this works pretty well for that when I need to do some custom work. This is a good drill if you are looking for something drill small holes into dry wall pr plastic or some wood. It is not powerful enough to push through concrete. With this kind of drill, I will say to take it slow when starting just to get what works with this material. Also you are able to see how it feels in your hand. This feels like a thick pen and it is pretty easy to handle. This one came with several drill bits of small size. To installed the drill bit, you just need to loosen the neck, slide the drill bit in, and lock. It holds the drill head in place pretty well without much issue. It does not fall off or anything. It does come with only on battery and it is not fully charge when it arrived. I had to recharge it after the first use. The initial power that was in the battery lasted about two hours before needing to recharge (I had held the button down to drain the power). If you are just using this from time to time, I expect the battery will take some time to drain. There is a charging cable to charge your battery. You can plug the battery in and it takes about three hours to fully charge. The material is not too smooth and it is fairly easy to grip. The drill does a good job drilling for my small projects. I can 3d print things and drill some small holes if I need to mount something. It may take some effort and do hold the button too much if you feel a ton of resistance because you could damage the motor if not careful. Overall this is a good small drill to have if you are looking something basic for small projects. It can do most of my hobby drilling as needed. It does vibrate a little bit and does have a good amount of power. The battery last for quite sometime and you can use it while it is being charged. All the drill bits are very sturdy and do not show any cracks or breaks. It does come with a nice case so you can easily take this on the go safely. The case is known for getting scratched though.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI am a model builder and hobbyist. I think this is one of the best purchases I’ve made in a long time. I have been looking for a small cordless drill that I can get into tight spaces when drilling tiny tiny holes. Easy to hold in your hand and maneuver where you need it.

    Pros
    Size.
    Holds a good charge.
Doesn’t bog down when drilling holes.
Feels good, and not too bulky in your hand.
Comes with a good variety of drill bits.

    Cons
    None.

Fantastic jewlery drill! This is a small but super powerful little drill. It comes in a metal carrying case and is very easy to use and to charge. There are several different drill bits. I have used it for a few projects and it has been super easy, safe, and efficient. I also used it to hang some small things and it worked great for that as well. Would be a great gift for a mini tool kit.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis is NOT a high power drill. Usable for drilling out gun barrels is space marine figures or maaaybe marking where you want to pound a nail for pictures. More of a light duty craft drill.

Ok, I was somewhat skeptical about this when I ordered it, and as expected, it is very light duty making it only suitable for very specific jobs where control is more important than speed. However, while I mentally scoffed at the “smart motion control” in the listing, using it was a pleasant surprise. Frankly I’m impressed that it even works, but the whole mechanism is incredibly intuitive and I was suitably impressed. Just twist your hand/wrist in the direction you want it to go and that’s what it does. Pretty neat. No fumbling for a button to control and distracting from placement of the tip of the drill. You do really need the manual to figure out the cryptic settings on the LCD, but even that is pretty impressive that they have that much information in so small a space.

This certainly isn’t going to replace my Dremel tool, electric screwdriver, or Dewalt drill, but for some of the fine stuff I’ve done where those have been too much for a task without risking damage, I can see this little guy being quite handy. I haven’t gotten back to the sort of thing where I’d use this lately, but I look forward to the opportunity when I do.

The drill is pretty cool. It has the light in the front to help you see what you are drilling, a dozen or so drill bits, a nice LED indicator for the battery life, a simple three press button system, and a nice charging port (usb-c). The drill bits magnetically go into the hole of the drill and the case that holds them, but the downside is that it’s not that strong of a traction to keep it centered so when you’re drilling it kind of just spins in place. It’s nice for getting a hole started or for thin surfaces but I wouldn’t recommend on a harder thicker surface like wood or walls. Using it on a painted wood cabinet didn’t really make a dent, I was able to get more of a hole started by pressing a screw with my fingers than what I managed with the drill. The case of the drill is really nice and it is incredibly small so it won’t take up much space in a tool drawer, but this might be something to use solely on delicate, light projects needing a hole drilled.

If you work on smaller electronics, models, or other small hobbies, you can’t go wrong with this little drill. It’s a terrific little package that comes in a convenient hard case that holds the drill handle and all the tiny bits. The drill charges up through a USB-C connection, and it charges pretty quickly, but the battery lasts quite a while – I’ve only charged it once since I got it, and I use it pretty heavily. There are some small LEDs that give you an idea of how much juice you’ve got left. The bits are well-made and I haven’t had any issues using them to drill into plastic, carbon fiber, and wood (no metal yet). There is literally one button on the drill, and when you press it once, the drill spins clockwise, press it again and it spins counterclockwise, and on the third press, the drill turns off. This sounds awkward, but it’s really not once you’ve used it a few times.

I hope this was helpful – I’d been looking for a smaller drill for quite some time before I stumbled on this one, and it’s turned out to be perfect for what I use it for.

The drive unit itself is nicely finished and has a sense of solidity to it. It holds nicely in the hand for drilling very small holes in soft materials, such as plastic and wood. It lack both speed and torque for handling harder metals like stainless steel. It makes a secure grip to its bits, but the bits themselves are not top quality and not readily available. Let’s face it, tiny bits such as these have a very short lifespan–either from dulling or breaking. To be able to readily and cheaply have multiple replacements on hand is necessary to be able to rely on this drill for serious work, but i find replacements to be anything but available and cheap.

When compared to a Dremel or an air powered miniature die grinder, one quickly begins to recognize how very limited this is in function, compared to more serious alternatives. Still, not everyone will have or can use the size of air compressor required to drive an air powered die grinder. This unit will interest some, especially as a gift that looks impressive on presentation. I’m still giving this four stars, as I realize it may have appeal for some who will use it for less extended and serious use. But for me and my desired use of it, the alternatives provide a better fit.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersSo, working on installing lighting in models and working in very tight spaces, as well as the scale of the models being worked on, I ordered a tradition pin vise and was very frustrated at the manual-ness of it. I looked at several of the cordless options out there and figured I would give this one a shot due to reviews.

Was not disappointed. This is SO much easier drilling out pinholes (0.5mm and larger) and even scoring surfaces than the manually operated one. The adjustable speeds and the reverse features also a bonus. It’s light-weight and fits nicely in my fingers (and I have small girly hands) and the included lighting at the tip helps me to really see into and focus on the areas I am working in.

The ONLY downside – and thus the 4 star rating – is that, as a rechargeable device, it would have been nice to have a cable come with it. I searched everywhere and couldn’t find one, but not worried as I have many USB-C charged devices around I can easily plug into. Still…for the price, you would think that a cord would come with it.

    Excellent tool though!

    Fantastic little tool!

This is a nice set of bits that fills the gaps in-between the bits that come with the drill. The case that holds the bits is also nice… it’s not aluminum, just a hard plastic case but wasn’t expecting that so was a plus.

So, this is a good little crafting drill and something that I’m going to use often. I do a lot of dev board style PC projects with 3D printing and need something to work with these plastics. I have a few cordless rotary tools, some that cost twist what this did, but they are much larger and don’t come with enough drill sizes for these projects. As well, they are often too fast for small boards or plastics. That’s where the ARROWMAX Mini really shines. It is more precise and easier to work with these style projects.

All-in-all, the ARROWMAX Mini is a great mini drill. Luckily, ARROWMAX sells a replacement 10 bits for this on Amazon for under $20.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI have made several pairs of earrings in home made molds (from earrings I love) and of course, they need a hole for dangles – I’ve also made “matching” bracelets with fine leather cord threaded through holes on either side of the “bead.” This is perfect for that though I can’t think of many other items that would be suitable for using this tiny drill. They do show someone drilling through a seashell in the posting and that would make sense, plus you might use this drill to widen holes in ready made beads that are too small. I guess, for my own use, this drill is fine though I think it’s a bit pricey for what you get.

The Arrowmax Mini Electric Drill kit is a must have for anyone that works on projects or crafts with small parts! I am a technophile and have a large number of electronic devices, components and gadgets, including more than a half dozen 3d printers so I am always working on one project or another. My daughter will be going to college next year for Engineering, so she is always working on one project or another as well. Unfortunately, trying to use a full-size drill in confined spaces on small parts can be anywhere from an inconvenience to a major hindrance. Having a small, powerful mini drill is a game changer.

I already have the Arrowmax mini electric screwdriver, which I love and use all the time, so I was so glad that I discovered that Arrowmax made a mini electric drill as well. The first thing I noticed when I opened it was that the drill, case, and drill bits all look very high quality. Personally, I love the look and aesthetics of it as well as the form and function of the drill and the case. It is very nice that the case is made of aluminum alloy and not plastic (the inner tray that the drill and drill bits sit in is plastic but not a cheap looking, flimsy plastic). Everything about this just says high quality!

The case has rounded corners and a window that shows the drill and pushes open from the side. It is a magnetically held tray that you simply push slightly, it pops open, and you slide the tray out. The drill bits are held in place with magnets.

The drill itself is small and lightweight which makes it great for getting into small spaces. The body is square with large curved and rounded edges and is very comfortable to use. Its use is very simple and straightforward, there is one button, you push it once for forward and then push it again for reverse, a third push of the button will turn it off. There are 4 small but bright, LEDs surrounding the chuck and a small, 4 LED power indicator with nice, bright blue LEDs. Many new electronic devices are coming with the USB-C port, which is a better and easier port to use, so it is great that this uses a USB-C charging port.

It comes with 10 different sizes of drill bits, from 0.6mm to 2.2mm (0.6, 0.8, 1.0, 1.2, 1.4, 1.5, 1.6, 1.8, 2.0 & 2.2mm) which will come in handy when working on computers (especially laptops), RC vehicles, 3d printers, Arduino and Raspberry Pi projects, and anything else that needs small holes! So far, I have only used a couple of different bits, but I am certain that I will end up using them at some point. The battery life on it is great, and you will get quite a lot of use out it before you must charge it again. If you want or need a small, cordless precision electric drill, then look no further and get this one. I can and do, highly recommend it!

Another ArrowMax hit for me. This uses the same identical body and drive mechanism as their premium electric mini screwdriver. The battery life is excellent and the case is nicely designed to securely house all the components, but this needs a 3mm bit! I need to really source another set of bits and see if anyone else makes a 3mm bit that will fit.

This is great for RC, 3D printing, and crafting, amongst my many hobby uses and feels very premium, along with excellent speed control settings with the gyroscopic motion switch that detects angles and adjusts speeds accordingly as one of the switch functions.

Press the power button once to turn the drill on and go one direction, press the power button again, and the drill bit reverses direction. A third press will turn it off again. There is a LED light where the bit is to help illuminate where you are drilling. Not for drilling big holes, but for fine craft or hobby work, this is awesome!

I 3D print miniatures as a hobby and build and paint them, mainly dragon stuff, and find that I’ve stuck with using a small drill vise to drill pinning holes. I decided to try this out because using a pin vise is sooooo tedious. Once I got this, I tried it out on one of the harder resin materials I use and while it did take a while to get deep into it, it did take far less time to do so than using a pin vise, which is a drastic improvement for my situation. The plastic for miniatures is far easier to get through, and metal miniatures takes about the same amount of effort as the resin. While I know I could use a dremel tool for this, it’s a bit overkill, and can be pretty hard to control, and having a small pen sized tool is easier on the hands and far easier to control. It could use a little bit more power, as using a dremel would be FAR quicker getting through the material, although I’m not entirely certain if it’s a power issue or the drill bits are low quality (could be either, really). I will get a lot of use out of this, I think, and I really do like the storage for it and the bits. Last thing I was surprised about is that it didn’t come with a USB-C cable.

Arrowmax products continue to impress. This low speed tiny drill is great for projects where you need tiny holes, drilled cleanly. The drill and the bits come in a delightful press-to-open case that reveals a tray with the drill and the assorted bits. The tray is magnetized and the bits fit snuggly and securely in their individual positions. There is a collar attached to each bit, showing you the size. The collar also serves as a stop when mounting the bits onto the drill, to make sure you put it in just the right amount.

Changing bits is easy, the thumb-tightener grips snuggly and I haven’t experienced any bits slipping while drilling though a variety of materials. I would only ever use this on ‘soft’ materials, as there doesn’t appear to be any way to replace these bits once they become worn. Drilling cardboard, paper, low density plastic, softwood, and even PCB electronics board would all be fine. Anything harder than that, you’re going to wear out the bit. The drill doesn’t have very high rpm, so you will in fact be restricted to drilling the softer objects I just described.

The single function button drills forward and back on each alternating press. The four lights blink in order of the direction that the drill is going: lights blink in order from charging end to drill tip is drilling in, and vice-versa. Charging is done by USB-C connection. The lights blink when it is charging as well.

Arrowmax makes quality product and this mini-drill is no exception. It is useful for a huge number of craft and maker related tasks. If you need something small and portable, you can’t go wrong with this kit.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersOpening up the box, you get an attractive looking case. You then slide the unit out and get all the bits and drill. The case is sleek and bits magnetically stick to it, making it easy to keep everything together. The only thing not included is a USB-C charging cable, but they are plentiful nowadays, so not a big problem. Powering up the unit, you get bright LED lights and an extremely powerful motor.

The reason for this mini drill was due to having a screw head come off on an appliance, and I ended to drill it out. This little machine was powerful enough to drill through hard plastic and I was able to get the screw out. The bits are strong and you get a variety of sizes. I did not have to charge the unit and battery held up nicely. Highly recommended!

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersIt’s a cute little drill and I appreciate that they took the time to make it nice looking solid and compact.
The case is made out of metal and the magnetic holders for the 10 included drill bits is really good at holding them in place. Overall 5 stars for look, feel and construction.

Unfortunately there are some downsides. First is that it cannot drill through anything other than soft wood or very thin plastic. It actually stalled on me going through 1/8″ plastic with the battery at about 50%.

The second issue is battery life or in this case I am not sure if it battery or a large capacitor inside. In any case I can get about 2-3 minutes out of the Drill on a full charge before it needs to be charged again. It does charge quickly, it only takes about 4 minutes but this can become very tedious if your not near a USB port.

The Third issue is that the bit holder is not very good at getting the bit perfectly straight. You will see a slight wobble in the drill bit tip unless you spend some extra time making sure it is straight while tightening the collar.

On the bright side, the drill will operate with the USB cord plugged in. So if you are in a situation where you can keep it plugged in it should run continuously.

As for replacement bit I have no idea how you get them but it is unlikely that you will break any while drilling soft material.

the downside is, power, but that is to be expected for a battery operated device….
chuck is simple to use finger tighten only….
the applicaiton here is the ability to drill a few holes in light weight materials, prob. not much more than alum., and its a must have when needed…not for heavy duty use of course….so, considering its uniqueness and ability to drill such small diam holes, I still have to give it 4 stars
