These walkie talkies arrived boxed and ready to charge. They are easy to set up and use. We tested them by taking one off a drive and having the other at home. The signal was lost under mile away from home. The destination was within 3 miles but we couldn’t communicate. The Charing time is quick and the clarity in close proximity is fine. Just not the very best for the price.

This pair of walkie talkies comes with rechargeable batteries, which is great for home use but it may be limited to using it outdoor when you have no means of recharging them.

The walkie talkie’s are quite small, reasonably made with 3.5mm headphone socket. There is a large PTT button on the side, very easy to push-to-talk.

There are quite a lot of configurations you can play around with, such as: sensitivity, volume, transmission strength, squelch, VOX and different ringtones. It also comes with 16 channels to choose from with 121 interference eliminators, this is way more than I need, you bound to find a channel that is not clashing with any otehr radio signal in the house.

I have been using this with my young son, he absolutely loves it and I do too, no need to shout to get him down anymore. It is quite fun and for that reason he seems to response to my commends more than when I was shouting downstairs.

The reception is clear any in the house from corner to corner even when I am in the garage.

Battery life is good, it will last a day or two of light usage if switched on continuously.

This is currently selling at 22 with vouchers, I think it is a very good price for a good performance walkie talkie. By no means this is professional but not just toys either, I’m impressed.

    Better than toys

These work really well, the sound is clear and strong, come with lots of different channels to get away from others / interference. Range seems great too I haven’t actually been able to get these out of range of each other. Good for anyone from kids to professionals. They feel good quality in the hand too.

These walkie talkies are so much fun to use and super easy too!
My 6yo and 4yo struggled a little knowing when go hold the button to speak, but with some practice they soon got used to it.
Nice colours and design, and very lightweight with a handy clip for attaching to clothing whilst walking around.
Myself and my husband use these to communicate from different parts of the house without having to shout.
Very good quality sound too, just give yourself a second before you start speaking as there is a tiny delay after pushing the talk button, so often if you speak as you press the other person misses half of what you say.
You can also charge both handsets at the same with the same wire and plug which I think is very handy!

A fairly well-made pair of walkie-talkies. Obviously, we are not talking HAM radio level but they feel solid enough. They are small units, smaller than I thought they would be. Approx 10 cm tall by 5 cm wide and 3 cm deep. So they fit easily in the palm of your hand. They are also very lightweight coming in at just 114g.

As with all PMR radios they have 16 channels, which is usually more than enough as the likelihood of anyone else being on air and using the same channel as you, within your area is slim, to say the least. Well, it is around here anyway.

All the usual controls are available including setting the transmit power Hi/Lo, squelch, scanning, monitoring etc. You can also set 121 privacy codes. This is is a bit of a misnomer because it has nothing to do with privacy at all. It is really just a means to let you only hear communications from someone who has that same code. If you don’t use a privacy code, you hear everything.

The range is good when you are in an open area. We use them on the beach and I reckon we get 2 miles easily. In built-up areas, this is reduced considerably depending on how many tall buildings are around you but for most, they will work fairly well.

One nice touch. Even though these units are rechargeable via a USB C port on the top. You can also remove the battery. Very handy if you need to replace one.

I tested those during a rainy day on a mushroom foray into the woods with my wife! The sound was clear and loud enough!
Once you have selected your channel it saves for the next use, making it really easy to use, just press a button!
Great piece of kit, easy to use, great battery life, can’t complain.
Seems sturdy enough to last for many years to come.

    Clear Audio

This brings back memories of before phones were widely available, every kid had a set of these

I and my boys have built a tree house in the woods, these will be ideal for communication ‘Old School’

The range on these is amazing, I have tested at least a mile and a half and was clear as day.

The walkie talkies are compact, easy to carry and the screen is clear and easy to read.

    Very happy with these

Very pleased with these! Gave them a charge and tested the range! Worked very well and sound quality was decent! Easy to charge up and very handy to keep around. Simple to charge too and they’re really good quality! Very happy

Absolutely loving these walkie talkies. They are compact, easy to set up and operate which is a plus in my opinion. The units I received were already fully charged out of the box. To charge the 1200mAh battery, just use the included USB type-C cables. To power on press the rubberised button on the front of the unit, then with each press of the menu button, also located on the front just follow the instruction booklet to get the best possible reception for the desired location you are in. You have 10 different ring tones to choose from, and these walkie talkies are great whether out and about camping etc, or if you are in a working environment or just plane fun with the family.

Great sound clarity and ease of use.

Got this for us when we go walking and in case we get lost

The default channel is clear, and this is easy to use

kids love the bright colours and they find it fun talking to each other.

It’s good that it can be worn like a watch so it cannot be dropped.

It’s pretty quick to charge and the LED is kids friendly.

These are a great set of walkie talkies that are well made and easy to use. The audio is high quality, they have headphone output and also have a great range. I stood on a hill and was easily able to keep in contact with my brother who was 3 Km away. They would be good for a more serious use as well, such as keeping in touch with another group on a hike or a trip in locations with poor mobile signal.

    Highly recommended!

We have used it in the park and the voice was checked for at least a few km and it didn’t let us know. The best part is this comes with rechargeable batteries which is a great cost saver as compared to the one with AAA batteries I already have.

This walkie-talkie has a very impressive range and the voice quality is loud and clear. Easy to follow and use for my kids who love this walkie-talkie.

This is very handy as I was able to leave my kids in the play area with the walkie talkie and I can go for a walk with peace of mind and can check back with them on the walkie-talkie. Also as this has multiple channels I can link them with my other pair of walkie-talkies and now we have 4 sets that are connected through the same channel frequency.

Great fun for kids and a must-have gift.

I do hope this review helped you.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersBearing in mind these are relatively inexpensive, and suited for kids as well as general adult use, they perform reasonably well. Obviously they are not aimed at professional users (nor are they suitable for), where the cost of suitable kit is quite high by comparison, but good all-round nonetheless. They’re a little bit of a step up (but not by much) from just a cheapo product for kids, but still with limited range, though decent, clear audio. There is a good range of features.

Being quite inexpensive, you won’t worry too much about your children playing with them (they will surely want to). These are great for around the house, and garden (our plot is around half an acre), but little more, so great for us, and a bit of fun for the grandchildren! I’ve tested these at various locations a couple of minutes’ walk ‘up the road’ (fairly open, small village), the other handset with my wife in in the study in our house, and reception was good and clear, but beyond which it started to break up. This is fairly similar to other products of this type I’ve tried, so they’re fine for areas very close by, maybe a couple of hundred metres at most (a bit more if both outside, and fairly open). As to range being up to 3 miles communication range in open areas, and 1.2 miles in cities or towns, yeah, right (as he picks himself up from the floor laughing).

The instructions are exceptionally good, which makes a really nice change. They’re good and clear, with colour photos, and in a nice glossy pamphlet format – makes all the difference. Feature levels are excellent, but obviously don’t compensate for very limited range. These (license-free) PMR radios are quite well-constructed, and feel reasonably rugged, and not flimsy or delicate feeling. Display is quite small, as you’d expect, but perfectly usable, and there is a backlight. The PTT (push to talk) button is on side, so a convenient position (some are on the front, not quite so). The other buttons are on the front, but it’s very difficult to see what they are, fine though once you get used to them.

A really good feature is that they have rechargeable (Li-ion) battery packs, instead of the usual pile of AA batteries. The packs are removable, 3.7V, but unfortunately it doesn’t appear that you can buy spares / replacements, which is a real shame. You can use with a powerbank, which is good if you’re using out and about, and run low on charge. The battery compartment appears to be able to be used with 3 x ‘ordinary’ batteries (in place of the rechargeable unit), but goodness knows what — bigger than AAA, but smaller than AA, so no idea.!! They are very easy to use. There is an earphone jack although I can’t realistically see it being used, but maybe some will appreciate it.

All in all, these are reasonable (license-free) PMR’s. Good performance and quality, but limited range. USB rechargeable a bonus, but non-availability of additional battery packs a downside. If you look at these as being little more than toys, you won’t be disappointed. If you are looking for proper PMR range, look elsewhere. These are out of range almost before out of view..

I hope that you have found this helpful.

    They’re okay.

It’s been a while since I’ve used a walkie-talkie, so I was pleasantly impressed with how many features these units offer. You can set things like the channel, privacy codes, “squelching” filters, transmission power, always-listening, etc.

(Admittedly, it’s a bit easier to do all of the above with the manual close to hand, since the LCD screen isn’t the most informative in the world. But it’s still a pretty nice range of options to have!)

It’s also nice to see that these can be charged from a USB-C cable (rather than the older micro-USB format), and that the rechargeable batteries can be removed. Even if a quick internet search didn’t throw up any obvious sources for purchasing spares!

In addition, they come with a headphone socket, albeit a 2.5mm one rather than the more standard 3.5mm one used for most modern devices. But then, 2.5mm earpieces seem pretty popular for professional uses, so there’s plenty of choice out there!

One thing they don’t seem to have is any sort of “ping” or ringtone, which is something potentially useful if you’re in a noisy environment.

But other than that, they seem to be pretty robust and the audio quality is more than good enough.

    Push to talk...

I cannot confess to having had to use every aspect of these walkie talkies; this is the first time I have owned any. I don’t yet know what things like squelch are, other than the sound an overripe peach makes if you stand on it .

However, upon receiving them I turned them both on to the default channel and passed one to my wife in the house, whilst I walked out of the house to the bottom of the garden, I used the ring button to call my wife’s handset, then the talk button followed by a very 1980s CB radio style Roger, Over … she heard everything very clearly, she then responded, and likewise the voice was crystal clear.

I have as yet to try them over a long distance, but I am guessing there will be no problem, it is supposed to do up to 3 miles in the open, so if it does half that it should be perfect for my needs.

The handsets resemble a 1990s Nokia 5110 mobile phone, but is a nice manageable size, and light. I wanted these so that when we are out and about abroad we can contact each other, perfect for when I am down on the beach at 06:00 in the morning taking photos, and my wife is still in bed (where most normal people are).

The batteries came fully charged, and it is nice that the batteries can be easily replaced, they are not sealed in. There is one USB cable to two USB C plugs to charge them both at the same time, but no charging plug.

In the box you get the following items:
    2 x AWANFI walkie talkies
    2 x Li-ion battery (already fitted)
2 x Belt clips (already fitted)
    1 x Charging cable; USB to 2 x USB C plugs
    1 x User Manual

    Good Walkie Talkies, Great Sound

These are great to be used properly or just for play with kids. The units themselves are really easy to use and setup out of the box, give the batteries an initial charge via the included cable into the units and you are away. Theres a lot of channels, each with privacy layers, so if you like there’s 100’s of different frequencies so you can have privacy and uninterrupted use. The range is pretty good, but remember, thick concrete and steel or dense woodland etc will decrease range so consider that. The battery life seems awesome and we were messing with them for hours and it hardly dented the battery. Incredible value for money really and I might even give them a try on the slopes later in the year.

I got these for the kids playing in the forest together and they absolutely love them. Super easy to set up. Charge, power on, set the channel on both units to same number and just push to talk. The unit bleeps when the other person lets go and lets you know you can talk, that part takes the kids a little time to get used to as they keep trying to talk over each other but slowly they are getting used to it now. The range seems pretty good for such small little devices and the volume is more than loud enough for them. The kids really love them but I’m Sure there are plenty of other uses for them. They charge via usb cable provided and you can also plug in headphones to them. The quality is very good, they are well made and good value for money. Very happy with these.

    Kids love these

These are great for kids and adults alike.

These walkie talkies are equipped with a 1200mAh rechargeable lithium-ion battery.
This gives 3-4 days standby time after being fully charged.

The included 2 in 1 USB-C cable enables both walkie talkies to recharge simultaneously.

The range can differ depending on where you are but we used them between one end of our village to the other which is roughly a mile and a half without difficulty. The sound was clear and we found it easy to use and great fun.

It does say they can reach up to 3 miles in open areas dependant on things like weather conditions as you might expect.

It’s very compact and feels well made and durable.
It has a belt clip which might be nice for adults to use.

They have a nice built-in large LCD screen with backlight and offer lots of features such as Auto squelch, Auto memory, Auto scan, Auto power saving, Low battery alert, Keypad lock(Channel-lock), etc.

I would imagine these would be great to use during outdoor activities, or camping.
Even between two children who live on neighbouring streets.

    Great value and well made.
    I would definitely recommend.

    Great value.

They are easy to use straight out of the box.
If you had one of these before then you know what to expect from the item, seems appropriate for expeditions works on rigs/big building sites treks etc.

If you are a beginner I would read the manual it’s quite self-explanatory and quite an easy read only takes about 5 min whilst trying the equipment out.

Saying it’s not a toy because it renders itself to high frequencies as you would expect from a walkie-talkie/station, you can choose on the level of the frequency low/hi depending on needs.

The sound is ok, not the clearest but not the worst either.

I would say its good value for the money

    Brilliant walkie talkie

I was initially shocked as I have another pair of walkie talkies from the same brand, turns out you can program them into the same channel and now you have more radios to use for more people!
I found this to be a decent size device! It looks like an old fashioned 90s phone but modernised by using a Type C charging port making it very versatile to use!

My purpose for these are I keep them in my car, when in convoy with a group of other friends in their cars for long distance driving, we now have one each some with their passengers they work without any interference at 60mph circa 1-2 mile away as well! Properly tested it this time and yes they are good especially in a semi-open environment such as a motorway!

100% recommended to have as it can be useful for various situations!
