works great for me
I used this on a recent solo camping trip to the Amazon rainforest, in total spending 5 nights in it. The first night was a bit uncomfortable as the gap I chose between trees was not large enough, so there ended up being a lot of curvature on the hang, which resulted in my back being sore (I’m in my fifties and often suffer from a bad back, so that’s not usual – 20 years ago I would probably been fine). My feet were also a bit sore due to pushing against the curvature of the hammock. After that night I made sure there was a good size gap between trees, so the hammock was almost at full stretch when hung, and my sleep was much more comfortable and I slept well. I still used two small pillows, the type they give you on planes, one for my back and one for my head, but I would probably have got by without them.
The suspension points for the bug net a a bit tricky to use. Make sure the hooks are well secured to the elasticated line – I ended up losing one of the hooks as it sprung off at great speed into the forest after it didn’t attach to the hammock properly.
One other thing, I soaked the whole hammock in a permithrin-based insecticide before my trip. I got no bites through the hammock floor, and any mosquitos entering the hammock immediately tried to escape and eventually died, rather than biting me. I’m not sure whether they would have been able to bite me through the hammock floor otherwise.
I’m sure you can get something a bit better if you spend more money. I’m also not sure how long lasting this hammock would be, as I’ve only used it for five nights, but it certainly worked for me, it’s lightweight and is great value for money.
Great value, a nice wee hammock
Perfect for Scouts – so much so I bought a second one for my daughter. Super easy to put up and the kids really like the fly net so the beasties can’t get in. Lightweight and packs really small too.
it is amazing
it was very comfortable i used it for camping a few times it was fun apart from the fact a fox touched my bum when i was sleeping on it and my mates were jealous because i had it then a few days later they brought one we all go caming with it now and thats all we take pretty much i would recomend its really good and small when it is all folded up
Perfect for the price just do not scratch it on a branch
or anything like that any small tear and it’s done also there are no ratchets with this so it’s quite easy for it to slip down a tree or a wooden pole unless you do a couple of clever knots always under not over or under over also works but you get the idea you get what you pay for yes it works just be careful
Absolutely love i
Got this thinking it won’t last long only time will tell but straight out the bag east to set up plenty of space bug net works perfectly straps are super long for ease took ten mins to put up in the garden then fell asleep for half an hour it’s great for what it is light easy clean and has a mesh pocket inside for phone etc would buy again !
GREAT VALUE FOR MONEY
Perfect for a camping weekend, really easy to set up and can handle two people comfortably.
Have had other hammocks from other suppliers previously but this one has to be the favourite so far!
Comfo
This hammock is easy to set up and comfortable. I use it with a sleep mat and would need to invest I an underquilt for winter camping. Ideal first hammock, I use this under my DD 3X3 tarp, perfec
Good quality
Tested in back garden, straps for hammock as good as my builders rachets straps. Main clips very strong easily unfolds and repacks. It is a light weight hammock so if you look after it will give you many lazy afternoons somewhere.
Good quality materials, easily set up
On the whole it’s very well made and the built-in mosquito net means it can be used inside a tarp tent, on a ground mat.
You can invert the hammock if you don’t need to use the net.
The straps are a very good length and the hammock can be attached at different points on each one, so it’s easy to get it exactly the right height off the ground.
The weight and pack size are pretty much perfect.
Would definitely buy this again.
Fabulous and a great purchase
Love these so much have bought 5! One for my husband, envied by my sons so got them each one for our wild camping sessions – then got two more for gifts for nephew and niece. Easy to use.
Surprisingly comfortable
Comfortable have to guage distance between trees we could of stayed in and slep
Love i
Didnt come with instructions but it only took me and a friend 2 mins to realize how to set it up. measure the distance between trees before you tie it up. Really comfy and sturdy, we are not heavy but it held the both of us (we both got in as a sturdiness test)
Great value for money
Light weight quick and easy
I have never left a review before but had to this time just how quick the hammock went up and came back down quite literally 2 mins and it’s up and just as quick to pack away I know a couple of people who are getting 1 of these for Christmas and for the price you can’t complai
I have it since august last year, it’s great! I wasn’t expecting it to be this good for the price. You get everything you need with it, has a mosquito net, and a little handy pocket on the inside. Great little hammock, used it quite a bit and it’s still in great condition.
Works well
Sturdy and comfortable as the other hammocks in this range. Hanging straps sturdy and easy to use and adjust. But more fiddling to secure mosquito net but once fixed and tensioned leaves plenty of room
Worth the money
Bought this as an update to my original Covacure hammock I have been using for several years. As was the original it is great value for money if your looking for a simple hammock for camping or just for the back garden. I havent had any issues with insects with the mesh however I havent had a chance to take it to the highlands yet. The new bungee cords with hooks are a great upgrade from the original attached to the top of the insect mesh and wrapped around tree slightly higher than slings keeps the mesh away from your face. Comes with tree straps with it ideal for using straight away.
Strong and value for money
This is my 2nd Covacure hammock, which I have bought for my son. The hammock is strong as I am no lightweight. Straps are durable with plenty of fixing points to get the right tension. The attached storage bag is a nice touch, I can’t tell you how time I’ve wasted looking for bags for other kit. The bag can be flipped into the hammock and used as storage. The new fixings for the mossie net is an improvement on the old design. The hammock is easy and quick to set up. Overall the hammock is excellent value for money and would suit a newbie or experienced hammocke
Practical and functional
These are great hammocks and the mosquito net adds additional useful functionality at a fraction of the price. We use these hammocks to backpack and camp.
Light weight and compac
Fabulous hammock. I love how it comes with a built in carry bag and light weight material. The surrounding net makes this the perfect hammock for wild camping. Love i
Ordered before noon was delivered same day ! Brilliant ! The hammock comes in a compact self attached bag which can be used for storage when the hammock is in use, also has a pocket inside for phone etc. It is lightweight, easy and quick to set up. There is a little video on purchasing page if you need a bit of help but it really is simple. Myself and my 9 year old daughter snuggled comfortably in it. My hubby who is 16 stone said he felt secure and comfortable in it. I have other hammocks but wanted one to purchase one with a net as my kids hate the creepy crawlies coming in and this really put their minds at rest as we were all zipped up and cosy. We are super happy with this and price is really competitive.
I spent 5 days in the Wicklow mountains and another 2 in Dublin sleeping in this every night. It amazed me how it held up to my 15stone moving about trying to get comfortable. I enjoyed sleeping in it so much I went to a local park to stay the night. The zips feel durable, too. The straps and clips (contrary to some reviewers) were absolutely fine-strong, durable and the straps didn’t stretch a bit.
The jury is out whether it will stand the test of time, but for the price it’s a good bit of kit for casual camping in the wild. My only complaint is the length of it. Anyone over 6 foot might find it hard to lie diagonally and be completely comfortable. 10/10 (for now)
Very good hammock + straps. Absolute bargain.
This product surprised me. Bought it not expecting much but I’ve slept in this on 4 different 3 night camps and so far no problems at all. Not even with the straps. I did buy replacements just in case but haven’t needed them. And I’m not light weighing in at 100kg. The hammock itself packs super small and light. Its comfortable once set up. The straps are strong and easily adjustable. A lot easier than my previous setup of whoopie slings. Will it last forever? probably not. But for the 20 odd I paid I’m very impressed. Will look out for other Covacure kit in future.
Ultralight Fast set-up
Honest opinion about the covacure Camping Hammock
the hammock is great comes in a small package that can fit tight/snug in ur backpack/bag it doesn’t take up much space about 18ish centimetre in length and like 12ish in width. comes with great tree huggers straps decently durable honestly a great hammock for all campers beginners-pros
Good quality for inexpensive produc
This hammock is inexpensive and does the job perfectly. It has ripstop which some more expensive hammocks don’t have. I’m happy with the quality and ease of putting it up. It is compact and lightweight. It is very comfortable. Great for having a cheeky nap on a hike. I wish there were more colours. I bought it with the net but not necessary for my use but net tucks to the side or use in reverse. I’ve bought 3 of these (2 as presents for my camping buddies) and we’re happy about upping our napping experience in the outdoors.
THERE'S NOTHING NOT TO LIKE ABOUT THIS, FIRST CLASS BUY, 5 STARS.
In my opinion there is nothing not to like about this, to be honest i’m asking myself why i didnt buy one years ago. First time i have ever set a hammock up and i did this in less than 5 minutes. As for stability again its 5 stars whether your sat on it or layed on it, its really comfy. Even the insect mesh seems to be quite sturdy. Yes i have to say a good buy and a good make.
Good
So bought a couple of covacure hammocks & I’ll say one thing… the pouch that it all folds into – the little pouch with the logo on the stitching always comes undone so annoying as it has happened to all3 of them , on this hammock literally used it twice before it started coming undone, I would give this item a full five stars if it wasn’t for this small but annoying problem, but over all bought 3 covacure hammocks and they’re always good apart from the pouch issue
Strong, Light and Very Easy to Set Up
It comes well packaged in a zip seal bag that has basic set up instructions printed on it. Further more the included printed instructions are comprehensive and easy to follow.
The hammock and contents are stored within the built in bag/stuff sack. It’s greatreat to have it all self contained and the pouch becomes handy storage when it is set up as a hammock. The bungees and pegs have their own little bag too which is a nice touch.
I had no previous experience with hammocks before receiving this but I had it set up indoors in a few minutes.
I removed it from the pouch, set up the two strong straps and clipped it on. As simple as that.
It feels well built and stitching looks strong. The two long straps have plenty of adjustment points on them.
The included bungee cords are very handy for spreading the hammock out. The built in fly sheet looks like it’ll be great for stopping midgies and it doesn’t smother your face either.
Overall a fantastic product and an even more fantastic price. Definitely recommend it.
Good durable hammock
Really good hammock . Good things:
With this lock down my little ones where missing out on spending more time outside in the garden in favour of being on their devices. Off course I could’ve purchased a conventional hammock or even better a swing bench but this hummock although it looks flimsy it is quite strong and the bugs net have encouraged my kids to spend more time in fresh air.
Advertised for 2 people , it is comfortable and has a mosquito net to protect you against the little vampires.
It is easy to erect and pack it up and doesn’t take much space.
Not the not so good things :
Even though it is for 2 people I would not trust to xx large individuals in the same time…
Also the mosquito net only protects you if your face is away from the net Or the underside material this being difficult if 2 people are on the same time. But good for spiders and all other crawling insects.
Acceptable price but I would we hope to have also included a rain cover when in use. It did came with some strong straps to go around small trees for easy hock up.
Overall good product. If out camping get a rain cover and a sleeping bag for extra comfort.
Very cheap but well built. Can easily hold two people but if you decide to sleep in it together you will be crushed together a little when laying down. Super easy setup, as you can see in the image I actually strapped one end to a motorcycle and the other to a small tree, while that’s probably not a good idea it does go to show how it can be set up anywhere. Durability seems good, I’ve used it a decent amount since recieving it and have not been gentle in the slightest. The only signs of use on it is a small hole where i accidentally burnt it with the cherry of a cigarette and the joint between the carry bag and the hammock itself is coming off. While the small hole scares me slightly as I like to put the hammock as high as possible, it hasn’t grown at all which is a good sign. The small rip in the carry bag joint is mostly my fault, I used it to hold shoes and drinks, which isn’t the lightest and caused it to tear, however I believe I can still put the hammock away after use even if not attached, it just means I have less storage when using it.
The pegs are of crappy quality and bent first time but i didn’t even need them for this hammock, you can always find rocks and trees to attach the lines to anyway.
So overall and excellent buy.
Easy to set up, strong and very comfortable. Worth the money.
Purchased last week so I could do a bit of tarp & hammock camping on private woodland. Very well made, easy to put up etc. Comes with adjustable tree straps which are easy to use.
Only negative/issue I have is how much everything stretches! Went to bed a good 1-2ft off of the ground. Woke up with my arse touching the dirt ( I am 5’10” and 15.5st ). Next time it will be secured even higher and a lot tighter. Other than that, really great bit of kit!
*Update* I’ve used the hammock on 3 seperate camping trips now. Sets up really easy, I’ve changed the carabiners to stronger ones (12kn) which was inexpensive and I use mini ratchet straps instead of the tree straps as it’s easier to adjust. I’ve also added a lightweight inflatable mat and an underquilt due to the temp change so I don’t get cold spots. Both work really well with my set-up. I also purchased a DD hammocks waterproof sleeve/sock to keep the hammock dry when setting up in the rain or when the ground is wet.
Dangerous be careful
The hammack was as described however as you can see from the picture attached an accident occured.
One of the pegs came out of the ground and because the sting for the mosquito is elastic it flew out of the ground and hurt my husband hand very badly. He was lucky it didn’t catch his eye. The sting needs to be change to cord of some sort.
Extremely dangerous.
I love this hammock to bits, for the price it’s brilliant. With so many to choose from I was nervous about getting it right but this hammock has been fantastic. Slept in it for 3 weeks in the Philippines where the mozz net was invaluable, nothing got to me and I’m a bug-magnet! Have since camped in it in France and Scotland. The 2 pockets are super handy. I love the uncomplicated system of this mozz net vs others. The only thing I would say is you can’t stretch the hammock out super tight as it is restricted by the size of the net but this really hasn’t been a problem so far. I like the additional option of the bungees to peg it out wide when need be.
Downsides: The tree huggers are not the best. This hammock would be perfect if it came with looped tree huggers. I’ve had to buy others seperately to ensure a good hang all the time. One of the small side loops that a bungee ties to has broken pretty quickly.
It feels quite big when packed and a lot of spare fabric when hanging but it is a double. Would love this in a single. On the whole I’d absolutely recommend this hammock. – The OneTigris underquilt fits it fantastically well also.
I brought these street reading the reviews and the information on the page. Was not disappointed! Or two strings up on two trees and join up the Hammocks carabiner to each and your done! If you’re not level or want to be higher just loop it around the tree again and put the carabiner back on and done!
In hammock one my friend read a book and found it easy to sit closer to the edge and read under the net and to hammock two I stared up at trees and listened to the wind and leaves till I almost fell asleep! If its a little chilly I definitely recommend that you have a blanket under you as well as over.
So comfy, couldn’t believe I haven’t owned one before!
You can really see it if the net and added bonus I couldn’t be seen very well by a squirrel through the net so I got to see him close up for ages!
Good quality for the price
Although I haven’t used this hammock for a long period, I have tried it out in the garden.
The quality is good. it has an access zip on one side to get inside the net. All the accessories are great. The only thing I have doubts about is the mosquito net doesn’t appear to have anything fitted to it to clip it up. I’m sure you can adapt something like a peg or clip but I would prefer it to have something attached. There is an elastic strap that I think is for the net but I’m not sure how it works. The tree straps are not the daisy chain type but are of good quality anyway. All in all good starters hammock and great value for money
Bought this new updated version as I already owned the previous green version. The previous version was brilliant for its price and was well used and this one is even better with additional guy lines at the sides making it bigger and more stable. Elasticated guy rope through the middle holding the net up is excellent making setup quicker and easier, there is an option to take the guy rope out if your not using the net by untying it but instead I have added a small key chain karabiner at one end to remove it easier. The overall length is longer than the previous model meaning more room. I have only used it in the garden so far(see pics) however I am looking forward to using it outdoor.
