Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersBought for the wife and her crafts. It is nice and easy to use but does depend on your hand strength. There is no ratcheting to it and the leverage is minimal. It is not designed to cut heavy stuff but has cut material she was interested in so far.

So I got this for a specific purpose to see how it got on. I had some moulding to put around a newel post. These were oak so would be a real test. However they did ok, it was hard to cut through the oak but softer moulding would have been easy enough, but it did the job as you can see from the picture. I would probably just use a saw if doing oak again, but for softer wood then it’s actually quick and worked alright. The blade was sharp and comes with 2 other blades. Happy with it and good one to have in the toolbox.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good for mouldings

I was a bit sceptical to be honest, I got these with a job in mind. Not having a suitable mitre saw, I got these to trim lengths of laminate flooring edging and make 45 degree cuts. For that purpose they worked brilliantly, producing nice clean cuts, though care has to be taken to get the cut in the right place. I was impressed. The blade is very sharp. They cut paper and cardboard, they cut small tree branches, they make a lovey job of cutting garden hose leaving a nice clean square end to attach fittings to. The only issue I had was the blade wasn’t closing at the end of the anvil. The anvil angle is adjustable and I had it sorted out in a couple of minutes. Useful addition to the toolbox.

5.0 out of 5 stars I like These, Suprisingly Useful

Good, sturdy and well-made. These will cut through cables, wooden beading and plastic with ease. Great for snipping edges. Mainly for light work but will cut thin metals, although I found them handy for electrical and arial cabling. They come with 2 extra blades as well as a safety. The blades are very sharp so be careful with them.

    Overall a good buy!

So far, I have only used these as secateurs to give a good pre winter trim to some large roses & a patio tree. They cut well & are sharp. Having read other reviews, I am concerned that changing the blade when the tim comes may prove difficult. I am used to sharpening my gardening tools, but the plate on these for getting an angle cut would mean I won’t be able to do that on these. I just hope when the time comes that I am able to change the blade.

    The blade is sufficiently sharp.
It comes with spare blades , but no instructions are included (I haven’t tried to change a blade yet) .

Good grip to allow you to exert pressure without hurting your hand

These were listed in Garden and Hand tools. The title stated they were mitre shears. Unfortunately I didn’t see the qualifier that they were for Vinyl and Molding trim.
I have tried to cut some thin pieces of wood with these shears, there is no mechanical increase in force on them. I could just about cut a 1cm thick piece of pine.

The shears may not be the sharpest, but they are solidly made. If you have enough strength then they can probably be used to cut significant amounts of wood, however they would be better used for thinner plastics or veneers

I recently had new flooring installed throughout my first floor. There are some spots that need some shoe mounding that I told my nephew who did the floor that I would install. My original plan was to use my circular saw like they did but then I started looking for easier, cleaner cut methods. I found this tool and looked through many reviews of different brands. This one, while a little more in price, seemed to be the best choice. I just tried it on a scrap piece of shoe mounding and it cut like butter! The cut was clean and way better than the cut that was done with the circular saw! I was even able to round out the end for a corner for a clean professional finish! Now I’m in my 40s with severe arthritis in both my hands and I had no issues with the cutting. I have the pvc mounding since wood was twice the cost but I think it would be just as easy to cut. This tool is game changer for me since I have a small project that needs moulding. No instructions on how to change blades but that’s what YouTube is for! Can’t wait to get started on my projects now that I have this handy guy!!

I received the shears today. They appear to be of decent quality but have clearly been used and returned, so I am disappointed that they were sold as new. All of the parts are present, and I needed them this week, so I do not plan to return them. I hope to have a better idea of the true quality and usability soon.

For the price and ease these are great. Used to cut quarter round for laminate we got put in. The cut is sometimes as good exact as a saw but it’s easy to clean up with caulk. Wasn’t too rough on the hands. We use it after the fact to trim branches outside too. We did two large rooms with awkward corners. Never changed the blade. TOTALLY worth it.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI used this to cut 1/2″ polystyrene quarter round. It did a lot of crushing instead of cutting where I had to clean up the ends. It worked good enough to get the job done.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThese were great, overall. They made my trim work very easy and smooth. My only complaint is that trying to cut through 3/4″ quarter-round trim (pine) was not easy. Sometimes it would cut fairly easy, other times I would have to remove the shears and start sawing a pilot cut for them.

Golden Review Award: 39 From Our UsersI bought these shears a year ago and they have been absolutely wonderful. I had tried other brands that just did not hold up or cut straight and I’ve had a lot of success with these. However, I recently went to change the blade and quickly discovered that it was impossible to do so. The shears come with extra blades so I thought that this was a fluke. After removing the screw and separating the handles, there is a hollow ring and a square pin (pictured) that both need to be removed in order to change the blade. These would not come out for anything! I assumed this was a manufacturing issue and contacted the company who was absolutely wonderful. They responded to my messages within 24 hours and once they realized that I was doing exactly what they were telling me to do, they went ahead and sent me a new set of shears at no cost. Within a week of discovering the issue, I had a replacement set in hand. Amazing customer service! Unfortunately, when I detach the handle from the new shears to ensure that I could replace the blade, the square pin fell out without a problem, but that stupid hollow ring will still not come out and release the blade. The new set arrived oiled, but I tried a few others of my own just to be sure and even tried a couple hand tools in an attempt to push it through but it will not budge. Not a deal breaker for me because the shears are really sturdy and the blades are heavy enough that I can sharpen the one installed. However, it is a glaring flaw in the manufacturing process. If you search online, you’ll find that this is a common problem with this brand. If you use them all the time and you need to be able to pop the blades in and out then you are going to want to look elsewhere. But they work for me for now.

This miter shear was a time saver to say the least, and it comes with 2 extra blades and is packed very nice. I replaced wood quarter round in an entire home without having to get out my chop saw and running up and down stairs!! Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersLoved how it cut through quarter round molding with “almost” ease.
I made 10 or so cuts through quarter round molding with a single blade, and I’m sure it could do more.

The longer the piece of wood the harder it was to get a straight cut, but I was able to make a presentable corner with some wood filler.

    Highly recommend for the DIY’er!

Golden Review Award: 16 From Our UsersHold your board tight to the guide and clamp the shears down sturdy and true. Don’t hesitate. Clean cut every single time. I am very happy with this purchase I have around 75 boards to cut for this project, so this is nice to have instead of using my huge miter saw and 150 trips back and forth to the garage or patio.
Trim we chose is 1″x 96″ and painted in Sherwin Williams: Extra White
(Our walls are SW: Collonade Gray for reference)
No paint issues with cutting using these shears. Will have zero touch-ups except for nail holes. If you have a project that’s like this, I would highly recommend these.

Fr meine Zwecke jedoch vollkommen ausreichend.

I read a review on the same product but from a different brand which said the platform was bended. I immediatly thought i should buy from another brand with good reviews.

I bought this one but it was bended too. I almost wanted to send this back but then my colleague said it was probably meant to be like that so the material could bend a little bit too to make place for the knife to go through. So think of this before sending it back

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersIt’s a nice cutter but I find that it “slides” off at the very bottom of the cut and so I have to turn it around and trim off the part that was inaccurate. I’m using it for working on my miniature dollhouse, so I use it quite a bit. After 4 weeks, I had to replace the blade (no instructions but I figured it out). So now there is one new blade left. I don’t know how long they should last but it just seems like it should have done better than 4 weeks. In fact, I’ve been using it well past the dull phase so maybe it was more like 3 weeks.

I’ve been wanting this tool for quite some time. So excited when it arrived on my doorstep. I’ve used it a few times for crafting — cutting thin pieces of wood. Love that it can cut angles!! It does a terrific job. But it does take some strength in your hands to squeeze it. That’s the reason for only 4 stars. I would not recommend this for someone with arthritic hands or just doesn’t strength in their hands.

I used this for cutting trim and other woodwork for my dollhouses. It is very user friendly and offers a wide array of angle options. I am pleased that it came with extra blades, as I can see it dulling somewhat quickly. Definitely a good started tool for someone who doesn’t want to invest in an electronic miter saw, which I have already ordered. 🙂

These things are great. Easy to use and accurate, even for a complete noob like me.

I saw a couple of reviews complaining that they would not open. There is a safety catch that holds the shears closed when not in use. It looks like a small orange cylinder with a philips head screw in the top (one the left just below the mitering surface.) Swing this outward from the top (philips head) and the shears will open; swing it back to hold them closed. Took me a second to get it open too–a small printout with a picture would save everyone a bit of trouble.

It is not easy to use. I wanted to cut some large craft sticks- not thick at all. All I can get is a partial cut, then flip it over and cut the rest of the way. My husband couldn’t cut with one cut either. That being said, we do both have arthritis in our hands, but I expected it to be sharper than this. And another negative is that there are no instructions.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThe blade broke! I was cutting pine shoe noukding and the blade broke. I thought to myself OK I’ll just replace the blade but there are no instructions to replace the blade. I unscrewed the nut and I had to dislodge a circular cylinder and I still couldn’t take off the old blade and on top of that the handles are tension loaded by a strip of metal and as you can see in the picture the metal piece that holds the tension bent. Very bad craftsmanship. Update. I emailed the company who sold the miter shears and they walked me through on how to replace the blade. I was able to change the blade. They also offered me to refund my money. I declined the refund since l was able to replace the blade. Very good customer service. They responded to my emails quickly and offered me a refund which I politely declined.

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersI don’t write many reviews but dang I like this thing. Just got it out of the box and wanted to try it out. I got it for crafting out of popsicle sticks because cutting them is a pain and getting a good angle is even harder! So I figured I’d give this a shot and I’m glad I did! As you can see from my pics it cuts really easy on the normal small sticks a little harder on the larger craft shifts but still easy and when doings 45 to make “picture frame” corners I can’t honestly believe how easy it was! This is going to save so much in scarps and sand time! Any DIY crafter who works with craft sticks should own one. For bigger stuff like many of the other reviews are from people doing trim and such I have no idea I guess if it was thin enough board it would work but for crafting this is a must have so glad I found it!

I found this one with good reviews, and this one is just rock solid, very good quality, fits great in my hand and little to not stress in cutting where the blades are sharp. I originally gave this item 1 star because the item broke the day I used it. As a product it is amazing! Until it broke it was the perfect tool for cutting quarter round. I contacted the company the day it broke and immediately had a response. After sending pics of the broken product they quickly shipped me a new tool. Customer service was friendly, helpful and on the spot!

Bottom line – this thing is a game changer for quarter round. I highly recommend it. Because if the quick response and friendliness I am changing my review to 5 stars…

I am giving this one star because it broke the first day I have used it. If customer service gets back to me I’ll upgrade the review.

Until the toggle broke this thing was fantastic! I figured out that you must cut the quarter round from the back each time. It just doesn’t cut straight from the beveled edge. Once I realized this I corrected and have had no issues.

This is WAY better that going outside for each cut using a mitre saw. I highly recommend it for cutting quarter round! I hope customer service handles their business in a timely manner! Once that happens I’ll post again

Bottom line: as long as yours doesn’t break it’s so much easier than a chop saw outside!!

    Best tool for quarter round!
