    Leider falsche Wickelrichtung

I purchased this to add a bit of flair (stylistic choice) to my gaming setup. The usb C portion plugged directly into my 60% keyboard with no issues. The metal parts on the connections which join the two pieces (USB – USB C) do look a little on the cheaper side. The cabling itself seems sturdy enough, the only way it would’ve received a higher rating is if the cable was braided. I fully understand that for the price I paid for this, I can’t complain. Others on the market are the same quality yet double the price. To conclude, it’s perfect and functions as it should, but it’s still on the cheaper end of the scale in regards to this style of cable. Time will tell how durable it is, but I currently have no worries about any splits or cracks developing on the housing

I’ve got a hyper x 60%. I like keyboards but I’m no enthusiast, so I couldnt justify 40-50 on one of these cables. These sort of budget aviator cables must be new as I had never seen any in my budget before.
Cheaply packaged but luckily mine had no bends of anything. Decently quality for the money as well.
Only problem is the spiral of the look starts at the top and exits at the top, instead of the bottom like the picture.
Overall I would recommend if you want a fancy keyboard cable at a budget.

    My thoughts,
Very responsive and aesthetically pleasing. No problems so far, great quality and easy to use.

    Highly recommend.

The cable itself is of good quality and works as expected. However since coiled cables are an aesthetic consideration the main concern of this review is does it look good. The answer to that is a strong yes.

Could it be better? Also yes, but we are talking about a 11.99 cable, this is a fully 1/5 of the cheapest custom mech cable out there.

Excellent value for the frugal mechanical keyboard enthusiast.

Aviator cables usually come with braided sleeving, and are made to be fully customisable by the user in term of coil positioning. This one is just a one size fits all approach and to be fair, it does add to your mechanical keyboard setup quite a lot.

The rubber cable is alright and for the price this is definitely worth it if you dont want to spend the money that a custom aviator cable costs.

The coiled cable makes a nice change and is nice to look at, it sits nicely on my desk and fits my keyboard. The cable itself is a great length

This is a decent cable that is aesthetically pleasing.

It works as it should,it’s durable and made well.

It has a Detachable Metal Aviation Connector and a nice coil which is very nice to have.

I think it would be a little nicer if it was a sleeved cable though.

Overall for the price I think this is fantastic value and I am happy with it.

    I would recommend.

Nice little cable for the price.

Overall the cable is of great quality, it feels firm, flexible and durable. This is my first time using one of these custom keyboard cables and I’m very impressed with it although using it for purely aesthetic reasons there are a few snags but functionally it is perfect.

    Positives:
    – Thick, firm but flexible cable
    – USB C connector fits firmly into the socket(had problems with loose ones before)
    – It’s a cable and it works
    – Looks a lot more tidy than a regular cable

    Negative:
    – the coil is not straight and has a bend in it
    – The aviator connectors do not perfectly match

At the current price this is at which is 11 it’s the best deal on Amazon for a cable of this kind however because of one of the main features the coil being wonky I would have properly returned for it for a new one, but I might have just been unlucky

    Good, with a few snags

This cable is really just for aesthetic reasons, it makes your desk setup a lot cooler. You can use it to charge or connect your keyboard to the computer. You can use it for any other device but it is not as practical since the curly cable is quite weighty, for example, it gets troublesome if you use it to charge your phone and want to use it at the same time.

    Pros:
    – makes your desk setup look nicer.
    – well-built cable.
    – can charge/connect your keyboard or other devices.

    Cons:
    – if you like to move your keyboard often it gets annoying when it is connected.
    – not braided.

    Very aesthetic

As with all my Vine reviews, the program does not affect my thoughts on this product. I am usually more harsh on Vine received products because of the program. I absolutely have use for the items I review or may be in search for an upgrade to something I already had. Like this cable. It is being tested with my Ikki68 Aurora keyboard.

So I was curious as to whether this would power the keyboard as I do have other USB C cables that don’t power one of my keyboards. It absolutely powers correctly though. Now I am typing on the keyboard one of my other cables does not power. The Keychron K3 V1. I have no doubts this should power your keyboard.

It feels sturdy and well made but I will be honest, I haven’t paid 80 for a custom cable or used something with these connectors before. I do plan on getting round to it when I have the spare money so will update this review when that happens. The coil is tight for sure.

All-in-all, I have no real issues other than two… As others have said, the packaging is lacking. if it was kept long instead of square, the coil itself may be straighter. Time will tell if this evens out and if it does I will update.
The other issue is the fact that the coil seems to enter and exit in the same direction. Well as you can see from the photo that it tries to pull the opposite way. This is because it exits the same way it enters from the keyboard, at least when removing from packaging it was. This may be because of the way it is packaged though as you can straighten it out the opposite way. I haven’t gotten it straightened out properly but I want to see what happens over time to update this review later. Although for the price, it would be obvious that it would be lacking somewhere. It’s not got any braid or casing other than the cable itself. But considering those cables that have the upmost care taken and are hand made are often 7-10x the price of this one I wouldn’t say it’s a smear on this cable that’s obviously produced for mass market. They

So that brings us to stars.
I generally have 3 main criteria; price, quality and fit for use.

4 stars overall because of the packaging and the wrong orientation of coil exit.

2 for price – considering customs are considerably more, it gets an extra star for price here.

1 for quality – the issue of coil exit and lacking in braiding and other casing brings it down from 2 stars to 1 but this is where the price is bumped up due to the competitive nature of the price 9.59 as of writing is a bargain for a coiled cable..

1 for fit for use – again, the coil exit makes it finicky and requiring time to mould to the use case but it is absolutely fit for use and should power you keyboard unless you have something I’m unaware of while writing this review.

Definitely good for price, that I can say. Longer than the one that came with my keyboard so it gives me leeway when switching to my 40% keyboard to game or when I need to sit further back.
I can definitely recommend it but you will have to fiddle with rotation and ideally have it clipped to somewhere to get it to mould itself to your use. I drilled a hole in the desk and have a cable tidy hole to keep the desk tidy, that holds it steady too.

    MONTH LATER EDIT:
So, the cable still hasn’t flattened out anymore and putting some weight on top flattened it for a bit but it’s not really great. Still, as long as it doesn’t go up in price too much it’s still reasonable considering the expensive hand made braided options you can get. Although the expensive ones are superior.

    Two issues

The cable is good quality and works well with my budget Mechanical Keyboard, simple plug and play setup with USB C. The cable is thick and the locking mechanism feels well made. The only criticism i would have of this product is that the cable could be slightly longer but this is simply preference. The cable works really well.

I have two mechanical keyboards, a mambasnake keyboard, and an ajazz keyboard with a usb-c port that is recessed, and one with a regular usb-c port. This cable did not fit my Ajazz keyboard with the recessed usb-c port.

If you have bought keyboards from Mambasnake themselves, or your keyboard has just a basic usb-c port, this cable will work.

If your usb-c port sits in the middle of the keyboard, this will sit ever so slightly off center, but it is still a very pretty cable and far better then a generic usb-c you will cram down the back of your desk and forget about. It is purely vanity, and the aviator connector, although aesthetically pleasing, offers no upgrade to a regular usb-c cable.

My only complaint about this is that the coiled part of the cable could sit slightly closer to the usb-c end, as theres an awkward space between my keyboard and the coil.

Overall, it’s a very pretty piece of eyecandy to add to my desk, but it is in fact, just that, eye candy. A regular usb-c cable would do the job just fine, this is just for those of us who enjoy our desks looking appealing to the eye.

Works as long as your keyboard doesn’t have a recessed usbc po

At the time of writing this review, the price for this coiled keyboard cable is 11.99.

The keyboard coiled cable comes in two parts – the coiled part and the straight part. The coiled cable section is attached to the keyboard and it works with straight USB type-c insert. If you get a right angle type-c connection, this cable may not work as well. The two cables can be connected together with lock-in type connector. The quality of the cables are very good – thick but not too stiff. For any mechanical keyboard beginners, the cables can serve as a great starting kit.

MAMBASNAKE Coiled Keyboard Cable, Pro Custom USB-C Aviator Cable for Mechanical Keyboard, Type-C to USB-A, TPU Spring Cable with Detachable Metal Aviation Connector for PC Gaming Accessories-White
    Brand: MAMBASNAKE

    *The good*
    Price
    Quality feel

    *The not so good*
    Nothing of note

    *Price as tested*
    11.99

This keyboard cable comes in a variety of colours and feels really nice in the hand. It is quite heavy whish for me is a plus point, and has a standard USB-A cable at one end to connect to your PC or Mac and a standard USB-C the other end that plugs into your keyboard.

There are several advantages to these cables; they looking attractive and also making your desktop tidy. You can disconnect the cable by just unscrewing the ‘aviation’ style connector. Yes you could unplug the USB-C connector but that’s not always what you want to do, especially if it is clipped into cable routing under the keyboard. It also saves on wear of the USB-C port as it’s cheaper to change the cable than the keyboard.

The cable lies neatly on your desktop and the coiled section also stays tangle and twisty free so should stay that way.

I really like this cable, especially at this price for this feel of quality.

Thank you for reading my review

This is a decent coiled cable for mechanical keyboards.

It has the aviator connection mid way and this is strong and secure once tightened. The only thing I don’t like too much is that it is not a sleeved cable.

It looks good from a distance but would be so much nicer up close if this was sleeved.

Saying that, it is a good cable, no problems with connection and built well

You his cable is good, there is no debate there.
It’s very well made, looks a good, has a good connection speed and it works.
The only issue I have is that it’s a very thick cable and the connectors are big and this makes it very heavy indeed. However, as the cable shouldn’t be moving anywhere I guess this is actually good.
This is a great coiled cable for showing off that you are into your mechs on Reddit.

For this low price, this is everything I wanted from a keyboard cable like the one’s you see everywhere on YouTube tech channels!

While I prefer a wireless keyboard, there are times a wire is still the best means for charging and gaming, where this more stylish cable comes in handy. The cable is split into two, with one end being the USB-A connection and the other being the USB-C connection to you keyboard. Why have a dangling trail of wires when you can a coil? This design is so much neater as shown, adding a cute expression to desk setups, especially if you were to get a coloured one.

So far, I have no complaints with the cable working just as expected.

    Clean, tidy coil keyboard cable

This USB-C cable is designed for use with mechanical keyboards but functions the same way as any other USB-C to USB-A cable. What makes it different is the design.

The cable comes in two sections, which connect together securely with an aviation connector. The USB-C section is coiled. This is the section that connects into the back of the keyboard – it’s relatively stretchy but retains its shape so looks nice and tidy and doesn’t get tangled. The USB-A section is a regular cable – this is the end that connects into your laptop or PC (assuming you have a USB-A port). By unscrewing the aviation connector you can remove your keyboard without having to disconnect the USB ends.

Build quality seems to be very good, the cable feels strong and durable. The cord is thick and rubbery, with good bend protection at the joins onto the connectors, which are housed in metal. The overall length of the cable is perfect for connecting my keyboard to my laptop without having a lot of loose cable left over and connections are firm at both ends.

Performance is excellent. The cable works perfectly with both my mechanical keyboards and also supports fast charging. It’s a great cable with a real premium feel to it and I am very happy to have it.

Excellent coiled USB-C to USB-A keyboard cable

Coiled keyboard cables are tied to the past for me, like the debate if a Mac SE should have the straight bit down the side so the coil is in front (but keyboard won’t sit flush pushed back) or the other way around for neat storage. So adding a coiled cable to an existing keyboard is great – and the Mambasnake is not much more expensive than a regular high-quality USB cable.

The metal four-pin Aviation connectors make a great deal of sense with a hardwired lead and big beast PCs or servers – robust and secure, they don’t just look good, they’re a practical solution to grubbing about behind a machine trying to orient a 5 pin DIN or PS/2 connector, making swapping keyboards easy.

Colourful USB versions are often expensive keyboard-geek trinkets – permanently-wired options for the most customisable decks; this cable gives you that aesthetic, but otherwise it’s just a USB A to C cable for keyboards, controllers (I didn’t want to try it for data but might at some point).

It’s not braided, it’s thick PVC in a bright, saturated green, with silver plugs. The screw-fit aviation connector is metal, well-finished and locks together nicely, and the overall length of cable is generous.

Originally I went to use it with a Wooting on my main machine but that’s micro USB, so it’s rather aptly gone in the retro computer corner with a Raspberry Pi and Durgod Fusion keyboard. On that setup the Pi is on a shelf above a pull-out drawer for keyboards and mice, and the straight half of the Mambasnake cable is ideal for attaching to the drawer’s cable clip, leaving the full coiled part on one surface and able to stretch.

Thanks to a secure USB-C plug you can stretch the coils a remarkable amount without the cable popping out – ideal for messing with more than one machine at once and bringing the keyboard with you (what? Yes, I know it’s wireless as well. Shush) and at least for a few tries, it returns to a neat coil – though I’m hoping the kink in the spiral from packing sorts itself out.

While this lead is more about looks than problem solving, in the case of my Pi install it has actually proved useful and a practical upgrade over the standard lead.

I’m particularly impressed that I can now pull the keyboard for lap use for awkward games, but not end up with a tangled mess behind the machine. I’d love cables like this for synths, especially USB-capable keytars, as the intermediate connector is very robust and stage friendly. Sadly all my music gear is also not USB-C, otherwise I’d have tried it out.

Should you buy it? Definitely, it’s cool looking and gets the keyboard-warrior/gamer look down for more affordable mechanical keyboards, but it’s genuinely useful as a coiled lead that gives a lot of reach without mess, and it’s nicely made.

The Aviation connector – that’s a bit of a gimmick unless you genuinely need to leave a flying lead for a USB cable and regular extensions aren’t cool enough; and the one question I’d have is “are these standardised and does it adhere to that standard” for users with hardwired keyboards.

I don’t have one to compare, so I’m treating this cable as a standalone item, and if you do want to leave the coiled part attached to a couple of keyboards and the extensions attached to a couple of hosts, just make sure your leads are from the same manufacturer? These are cheap enough to buy several for different keyboards and only use the coiled part, after all.

That aside, as a whole it’s great – if there are braided and micro USB options offered I’ll be buying a couple more because necessary or not, I think it looks cool.

Geek chic for a mainstream price, handy for keyboard drawers

    I absolutely love this cable.

I have to admit that I have been looking with a great deal of envy at the keyboard users with the coiled keyboard cables. When I spotted this item, I had to get it!

To cover the basics, the cable itself is a USB 2 spec USB C cable with a coiled section, and a “aviation” style connector between the coiled section and the remainder of the cable. The cable length overall is plenty for me, and would easily reach the back of my base unit under my desk. The cable itself is much thicker and sturdy than the supplied one with my keyboard, and I have not seen any difference in performance between cables.

In terms of using the cable, I have found that the coiled section does a great job of keeping the cable organised and tidy on my desk while making adjusting the position of my keyboard just as easy. If anything, its improved things because the cable does a much better job of keeping out of my way as I move my keyboard round.

Overall, the cable works well, and looks fantastic. I would have liked a couple more colour options (here’s hoping black and purple make it into the colour range of the product). However, the cable is a perfect accessory to making your keyboard look that bit more premium, or making a premium keyboard look that bit better.
