This is perfect as an emergency shelter paired with a tarp. Check out Corporals Corner youtube channel for a good product video. Packs small and is very light. Not sure about durability but I think it is better used for emergency situations, almost like a reflective blanke

The bugnet seems to be well-made, but I had a question if they had a repair/patch kit. Onewind has a chat function on their website, but it seems no one is ever available. Never got responses for my inquiries.

Setting these things up is not exactly intuitive at first- then it gets easy. Look at the pictures up top to see how things are oriented.
Seems reasonably durable. I can get a lot of use out if it no matter what fails.
This company seems to have what a lot of outdoorsy people are looking for: nicely designed, affordable, lightweight, reasonably durable gear.
    I’ll be back.

    I like it.

I got this as a “test” for handing out to some of my areas homeless population when other options were unavailable. Setup was easy and I left this out for a few days of bad weather with some “dry gear” to see how it faired. When setup the right way (facing away from the wind, etc.) this was very helpful. Provides a good wind break and decent dry space. Easy to setup and take down. Shake it off and stores quickly. Got a few and gave them out to folks for emergency situations and the feedback was all positive.

Great emergency shelter while out in the outdoors. Easy to set up and tear down. Small package, light weight, and comes with everything you need. Material is strong and looks to last a long time. Great value for your money

For years, we travelled Canada’s far north, helping develop recreational potential of rarely-travelled rivers.
Essential to this extreme remote travel was a protective shelter we called The DryFly ~ Many, many times, it sheltered up to five people and gear from cold, wet, snow, or with a smudge fire in front, as a place to dispell the odd bug. As an expedition-grade product the DryFly is far heavier (3lbs.) than the Onewind camping shelter…but we never left home without it.
So it is with great interest that we set up the super-lightweight Onewind tarp in the glade below our cabin (photo). Yes, it’s small; but large enough…to accomodate a two people, and maybe with some gear as well. It packs almost tiny, and is easy to erect between two trees. The Onewind lean-to sets up as a shallow or deep shelter, depending on need or preference. The material seems very durable, and far lighter than the coated ripstop nylon we knew. It re-packs easily in the bags provided. The pins, lines, and loop attachments are well chosen and well made. As a constructive suggestion, we suggest adding an attachment point to both sides of the center of the rear sloping wall – to be able to pull the wall out and back for a bit more room behind the occupant(s)? All in all – a very worthwhile product. ~ The Duffian
Another clever camping accessory from Onewind: A small magnetic hanger (2nd photo). Place the eye and base magnet anywhere in the tent, with the other magnet opposite and voila! a place to hang ‘most anything – up to about six pounds! ~ The Duffia

It is very light weight and I like the color. The stakes are surprisingly robust. This would be good in an emergency or if you *are* backpacking and can set it up in some trees. I look at it as more of a windbreak (which is what I got it for) than an actual shelter, but if you are in the right area, it would function fine.

Really, there is room in the pack for this item and it fits right alongside other emergency gear. I plan to use this on day hikes as an emergency item, just in case. Easy setup, good decent size, multiple uses.

Pay attention to the pictures. This isn’t a full tent. It’s great to provide some rain and some protection assuming you have places to fasten the cords. The front part is uncovered but can afford good warmth from a fire in front of you. Material feels fine…I’ve had thicker but it does compact and travel nicely.

I ordered this primarily to put up over my hammock that is strung in a copse of trees in my yard, and it’s working perfectly. Live directly next to a blueberry farm and have been menaced mercilessly by the birds and squirrels. I love sitting in my hammock and relaxing, but recently the wildlife has made that difficult to enjoy. Between feces and intentional drops my sanctuary has become a firing zone. I put this up using a combination of the existing trees and the included stakes. It’s working perfectly, and when blueberry season ends I look forward to taking it out and using it for camping. Overall it’s getting very high marks in my book for ease of installation, build quality, inclusion of all necessary items in the kit, and flexibility of use. I love that when the wildlife does decide to pelt it with blueberries I can simply house it off and go about my day.

Onewind Camping Shelter, Tent Emergency Survival Shelter, Lightweight, Reusable, Rainproof Windproof with Stakes and Guyline for Camping, Hiking and Backpacking, OD Green

This is a great little shelter, good for an emergency bug out bag, emergency shelter to keep in a vehicle or a bushcrafter, stealth camper.

It is lightweight and comes folded in a very small size. Everything (tarp in tarp bag, pegs & guylines in peg bag) weighed in at 510gms.

The tarp by itself in its bag weighed in at 276 gms on my kitchen scale.

The pegs look like your traditional steel hook tent pegs, however these are aluminum so they are lighter than their steel counterpart. Each one weighs 16gms. Because they are aluminum they are thicker for strength and octagonal in profile rather than round so perhaps the angular corners will give more grip.

The tarp itself is seamless. On the outside front corners are stitched these external pockets. I am assuming they just wanted to stitch a panel on for the brand logo but also were smart enough to stitch it along the top to create a seam which may leak. Although I am not sure these pockets will fill with water.

Thank you for reading my review and looking at my photos of this product. I hope you found it helpful!

REVIEW PHILOSOPHY: I only review a product if it is something I am capable of critically evaluating through comparison, testing and use. This means I have experience of using similar items; or that I have equipment or tools that I can test it with; or that I have an upcoming need so I can actually use. I am as selective about getting an item to review as I would be about purchasing that same item, so yes, I expect it to be a good product. My reviews are NOT based on packaging or if it was delivered timely.

    Very lightweight well made shelter.

I wanted this for our bug out bag. I never heard of one until this year. This is a bag that you keep in your car or somewhere easily accessible in your home. If there is a fire or some type of emergency, you grab that bag and go. I think this makes an excellent temporary shelter in case of an emergency and is worthy to have on hand.

    This emergency camping shelter is a great thing to have in an emergency. It is very small and takes up very little room in your backpack. I tested this out and I was able to set up a shelter in under three minutes. The pros of this shelter are;
    1) It is lightweight and takes up little room
    2) It comes with the things needed to use it as a shelter (rope, stakes, etc.)
The negative points of using this shelter are:
    1) it is very thin and not very tough and will tear up easily in high winds
    2) It is barely big enough to shelter one person and is way too small for more than 1 person.
Personally, I was hoping that this would be thicker and large enough for two. people to use comfortably.

    Onewind Camping Shelter Review

I’ve been using the Onewind Camping Shelter for a few months now, and I’m really impressed with it. It’s lightweight, compact, and easy to set up, making it a great option for camping, hiking, and backpacking.

The shelter is made from high-quality, water-resistant ripstop nylon, so you can be sure it will keep you dry in the rain. It also has a windproof design, so you can use it in windy conditions.

The shelter is very easy to set up. It takes just a few minutes to attach the poles and stake it down. Once it’s set up, it’s very spacious and comfortable. There’s plenty of room for two people to sleep, and there’s also a vestibule where you can store gear.

I’ve used the shelter in a variety of weather conditions, and it’s always performed well. It’s kept me dry in the rain, and it’s kept me warm in the wind. I’m really happy with my purchase, and I would definitely recommend the Onewind Camping Shelter to others.

    Pros:

    Lightweight and compact
    Easy to set up
    Water-resistant and windproof
    Spacious and comfortable
    Durable construction
    Cons:

    None that I’ve found
    Overall:

I highly recommend the Onewind Camping Shelter. It’s a great option for camping, hiking, and backpacking. It’s lightweight, compact, easy to set up, and it will keep you dry and warm in all weather conditions.

I was mainly interested in this for it’s compact size when rolled.
Its alot nicer than I had thought it would be. I expected a flimsy ripstop tarp of a thin material.
Its a heavy duty durable nylon setup.

It comes with everything needed for a basic shelter/lean to. It allows for plenty of configurations. It can be tied to a tree for overhead rain or sun cover.
It can be ground staked for sleep shelter.

But I got it for an odd use, a camping outhouse!
Its PERFECT for blocking view for bathroom use.
Our camp group has a few ladies and they feel more comfortable camping when the bathroom area is private.
This sets up off to the side and blocks view perfectly from 2 sides (3 if you wrap it around).

This is a great tent to quickly put up and it comes with basically everything you need including the stakes, the fabric tent, bag storage, and pre-cut paracord. It also comes with a paper with suggested shelter ideas. The stitching is what makes this tent stand out; its well made. It’s been outside all day in high winds without any tearing. I like that the paracord is bright orange so you can’t lose it AND you won’t trip on it. The stakes are good too though a few bent a little because off the force applied into the rocky soil. It all fits into two tiny bags. Great Pack and go shelter!

This is a decent product, but unless you already have prior knowledge of the product, everything that is included in the package and how to use it, don’t expect your 1st time setup to go well. Aside from the fact that there’s more information on the Amazon website about this then there is included in the instructions, this really is something that you should get used to setting up before you actually need to use it. And set it up in various conditions as well.
I really wish the ridge line was one continuous line rather than 5 smaller lines, but I understand that it is more versatile as 5 smaller lines.
While the fabric is definitely ultralight, I don’t really consider the system to be ultralight because the tent stakes are rather heavy. I will be swapping those out with titanium stakes for the long hikes.
While I’m sure some die hard bushcrafters or even some homeless folks would use this as their shelter, it’s my intention to use it as a backup or more likely, when I just want to take a quick break to get a nap in.
Overall, it’s a good buy, but there’s a learning curve to use it efficiently.

Good product, but instructions are lacking.

This is a great lightweight shelter for minimalist camping or emergency use. It is similar in shape to a “Whelen shelter” without the front awning. It’s light & small enough to easily fit in a daypack with other gear for a day hike, hunting, fishing, or wandering in the woods. If you plan to use this a lot, consider replacing the aluminum stakes with titanium stakes. The included instructions are brief but adequate if you have ever experimented with a tarp. There is something included that another reviewer called a “magnetic tent hook”. There are no instructions for the use of this item, perhaps it is to attach the shelter to the (not included) footprint, bug net, or awning tarp.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis packs down very small and weighs just 17.6 oz, making it perfect for my get home bag, where the goal is to travel fast and light. The tarp feels sturdy for how thin it is, and the included lines and stakes make setting this up pretty easy, quicker than rigging a shelter using my poncho, and I’ll have the option to use the poncho to further enclose my sleeping space if desired. Overall, this is a nice addition to my cover options, but not necessarily something I’d jump to buy at full price.

I needed something for day trips that I could toss in a smaller pack as a just in case. To be honest, I wish I had this out there on the Appalachian trail. It’s light, repels water, it’s well made, and adaptable. Compared to other ultra light options it’s a score! I’m not worried it’s going to rip and can easily be strung up from a couple trees in a heavy storm. Could be used as a ground cloth for shelter sleepers, or as an emergency item without being too bulky. It folds into the sack well. Ditch the stakes. The line is decent.

This thing would be a great emergency shelter. It’s very light but fells very well made. I wish it had a stuff sack to put everything in because it comes in a clear plastic bag with a draw string and the bag already had a hole in it when delivered. I read a review that said there were no instructions and they couldn’t figure it out. I would like to say it’s a very simple setup. You run a ridge line and stake out the corners. There is pictures on a small card with it but anyone that is familiar with a tarp setup will have no problem. If you pair this with a rain fly you would have a complete lightweight shelter much like a tent or use it like it is for a well made lean too. I would recommend to anyone who goes in the outdoors just in case you must stay the night or get in a bad storm that you need to ride out.

I’m a big fan of minimalist camping had had been using an old US military, canvas, half-shelter for protection from the elements. I loved its design but the canvas weighed a ton. This is rip-proof, waterproof tarp has the same shape but packs done much smaller and weighs much less.
The tarp fabric, lines, and stakes all seem to be made of quality materials. The orange guy lines have a reflective strip woven into them which is nice at night. The steel stakes are probably overkill for me and will be replaced with lighter aluminum ones.
The tarp is trapezoidal-shaped with a number of tie-downs along its edge. This allows it to be pitched in a number of different ways. It comes with a guidesheet that shows you exactly how to pitch it depending on what you are trying to hide from – rain, cold, eyes, etc… This is nice for people just starting out in camping under tarps rather than full tents.
    I’m very please with it.

I’ve done a lot of hiking and backpacking… and I’ve shifted over to bushcraft for some solo camping events. There’s a hybrid world out there where packing a tarp like this is OK and the rest is up to bushcraft. I am firmly in that camp.

I set this up in my back yard as a test. My Cub Scout and Boy Scout sons had no issues figuring this thing out. You can, indeed, setup in a few configurations – all of which will serve to keep one adult-sized camper warm and dry. (2, if you really stretch it and are GOOD friends. LOL)

So, I next took it camping. It was great… we had rain overnight, but other than the peaceful sound of the rain, I didn’t even notice. I was kept dry and warm. It’s a proper shelter, if you know what you are doing.

It packs light and small and does what is promised!

So, the only real complaint I have here is that it should have one bag to hold everything. It comes in a plastic drawstring bag that holds a bag for the actual tarp/tent and then one for the cordage and stakes. The plastic bag is definitely cheap, so I’ve already done away with it, but it would be nice to have a nylon bag for everything to fit in.

Outside of that, so long as you know what you’re doing, you’re golden! This tarp/tent is great as a small bushcraft/minimalist tent, but also works fantastic as a wind blocker or just a regular tarp for shade.

This is basically a lean to. that means it is open on one side. Wind driven rain from that side may get you wet. On the other hand, if it is facing your campfire, the heat will flow right in. It does not keep insects out. It is fairly easy to set up, and extremely light weight. Well made. It will hold up well. We like it.

Seems fine. Good construction, lightweight and packs small. Not tested it out yet. The only thing I’ve seen so far that may be a little design fault is with the little pouches on the bottom portion, I presume they are to add some sort of ballast for on soft ground like sand, personally I would have sewn them inside rather than outside, I say this because I think they’ll collect water being on the outside. I’ve not tested this yet so it may not be an issue, this is just my first observation and only slight gripe. Overall I’m pleased with this product and look forward to trying it ou

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI’ve used this shelter on multiple Bushcraft camping trips in the Appalachian/Blueridge mountains. Its handled heavy rains and winds with no issue what so ever. It only takes a few minutes to setup and comes with more guy lines and stakes than necessary. Not to mention the quality of the stakes are superior to most of the $200 tents I’ve purchased. If you want to see this thing put to the test or want to see how to set it up I have a YouTube channel with multiple videos using this shelter. My YouTube Handle is: ProCaliber HQ
