Very impressed so far, I haven’t tried jump starting anything yet so can’t comment on that part but the cigarette lighter works as it should and the USB C is a quick charger and the light is very bright on its full setting. I’m looking forward to using it while on our camps this year.
This Outsunny power bank is excellent. Lifepo batteries, 153wh, jump start, high speed usb charging, 12v outlet and light, for 65ish.
The quality is excelent, I was very surprised when I openedthepackage. I haven’t tested the jump start function yet and hope I never will, but I am confidant that it will work when needed.
I wanted to add a short review of this here because I honestly think the one star review is a bit harsh – also lacking in detail.
Full Disclosure – To be strictly honest I bought my unit on ebay rather than Amazon, because I got offered a generous seasonal discount, but interestingly it was still delivered by Amazon, and in Amazon packaging! I was a bit apprehensive because of the one star review here – but it turns out that I needn’t have worried. It is indeed a bit harsh. Let me explain…
Ok so what is good – well for a start the unit is pretty compact, and much cheaper than some. Also the main inverter that turns the 12v output into 230v is a separate plug in unit. Now some may wonder why this is a plus – the answer is that this way the inverter can also be used separately when out on road trips in the car…
The other big bonus is that the battery pack, besides working as a halfway decent emergency backup power supply, can also double as a jump start for a flat car battery. Just saving one mechanic call out will easily pay back the purchase! This has already proved very useful today.
Ok so what is not so good, and why perhaps did someone rate it so low. Well for one thing I am not yet entirely convinced that the battery capacity is quite as large as claimed, but it is enough if you just want something to keep your mobile, and laptop running during a blackout. This will do that trick nicely – but dont go expecting it to run kettles, fridges or and sort of heating because the inverter can only provide 150w MAXIMUM – and the battery won’t last long enough if you draw more than about 45w from it.
So yes – it is LIMITED – as you should rightly expect from a cheaper device – but as long as you manage your expectations correctly – it IS a good device, and certainly worth the price. – It WILL at very least allow you to keep yourself amused if we get the promised rolling 4hr power cuts later on in the winter.
Add to that the bonus ability to rescue a car that had gone very dead after the big freeze – and I am already well pleased with this purchase.
