Tried to find a smaller diameter cover without any luck so took a chance. There is a lot of spare material and I would have to make a couple of holes if I wanted the infill and overflow pipes to fit through the net. Looks reasonably OK but not as close-fitting and neat as I would have liked.
It’s does exactly what it says it does, only loses a star because it doesn’t exactly stay on tightly when the toggles are drawn so I hold mine down with bricks to be on the safe side. Had an unexpected bonus effect of trapping all the midges under it too.
The problem I found is that it fits over my water butt, but when I tightened the string, it would slip up and pop off. Had it been able to hang further down, then this wouldn’t be a problem. So to get around this, I wrapped duct tape around i
Easy to fit and keeps out any debris. I’ve put mine over a large bin to catch the rain so the net is easy to adjust. Highly recommended.
A really good idea and very helpful in preventing the water butts getting clogged up with leaves and such. Very pleased.
