Best socks I've ever had..
I’m a size 12 shoe, so these socks were fairly tight first time on.
After a couple of times of wearing them there perfect.
They are ‘uniform’ from top to toe..
What do I mean? ..thin, ‘dress’ socks are uniform in thickness from top to toe, thick ‘house’ socks are uniform from top to toe..
Most other socks have a foot part and a thicker or thinner, tighter or looser ankel part..
These socks are a dense, uniform build from top to toe.
Perfect thickness and support in my opinion. (This is the second lot I’ve bought, so I now have 4 pairs which I wear most of the time.)
I even wear them scrunched up round my ankles while wearing shorts..
**..bear in mind I’m at the top of the size range!!.. smaller feet/people may have a slightly different experience.**
**Possibly a better experience?**
Anyway, I’m glad I went for them. Now theresno going back to sports type socks for me.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
Comfortable to wear - washes well
Comfortable to wear.
Enough compression to remain up without slipping down towards the ankles but at the same time not at all restrictive around calf muscles etc.
These wash well with no signs of colour bleeding or loss of shape or softness.
No issues to report these are decent socks for winter dog walks and for our gardening. These were warm but didn’t find these materially any warmer than normal socks but lengths makes them good for wellies and keeping feet and lower legs warm.
Warm, comfortable and good value
These socks fit very snugly, so that they don’t look obvious through trousers or jeans, but don’t feel tight. The elasticated feet and calves make them fit perfectly and stay in place. I wore a pair only briefly, as the weather’s still very mild, but my feet and legs warmed up very quickly; the socks will be excellent if it’s a cold winter. Although the material is so warm, the socks aren’t thick, and they are very comfortable to wear. They feel as if they will last a long time.
Excellent value for two pairs.
hick and very warm
These knee high socks are super comfortable to wear, they aren’t too tight and don’t cut into your calf, have a great stretch in them and aren’t itchy either.
They are very thick so keep you very warm, they are ideal for the upcoming winter months, for outdoor walks and hikes, or I wore them to an outdoor rugby game to keep my feet and legs nice and toasty. They’re made out of 80% cotton, 17% polyamide, 3% spandex and are comfortable when on even for long periods of time.
Great winter socks.
Having various hobbies and work that involves me spending inordinate amounts of time being cold and/or wet I’m quite fussy when it comes to warm socks. And I like these. Nice and warm and cosy without being bulky and they feel very nice against the skin. The stitching is good, especially around the toes, with no raised seams or anything to rub. The eleastic is good enough to keep them hitched up on you legs with no sensation that your bloodflow is about to be cut off, but not so loose that you have to pull them up every ten minutes.
Great socks and good value too, excellent.
Good warm socks
These are lovely thick warm socks and ideal for winter wear .
They are perfect for wearing with wellies as wellies offer very little warmth and these also add some softness and comfort.
My son-in-law is a farmer and spends much of his time outside. I gave him these to wear in his work boots and he was delighted.
He says they are really comfortable and keep his feet nice and cosy.
My daughter has washed them in a normal wash and they look as good as before so they are very pleased with them.
Long, Thick and Very Warm
A very nice pair of walking socks. They are very long. The material is soft, thick and warm, and you’ll need roomy boots if you’re to have room for your feet inside these. Nice looking, too, so they’ll look good worn on the outside of your trousers. Very happy with them.
Snug fit but effective
As we’re all looking for warm cosy clothes to wear, these are an excellent choice. Knee high socks to prevent that gapping you get with ankle or trainer socks – and these have a good thermal composition too, to really keep your calves and feet snug. My calves are a little bit chunky (as is the rest of me) so I stretched these out on boot stretchers first, but now I’m used to wearing them they fit like a glove. If you have wide calves or thicker legs, you may find they dig in though, particularly at the top as they sit just under the knee. With a mostly cotton composition (80%), I’m surprised how warm these are, but I think the added polyamide and elastane (or spandex) helps them keep their shape and keep them close to your skin, trapping air in for extra warmth.
Be aware they need a cool wash, to ensure they keep their elasticity which is fair enough. They dry quickly though on an airer which is a plus. Excellent value for two pairs and although they’re not jazzy colours, they’re effective which is what counts.
I’m a sock kinda guy – it’s a weird “thing” I have. I really like socks. I have about 150 pairs of socks in fact, from cheap socks to 30 a pair socks I like socks. When most people want to treat themselves they’ll go buy a coffee or have a massage or something – I buy a pair of socks. I like socks and I know a good pair from a bad pair – these are a good pair.
I’m a size 11 and these socks fitted snugly – they weren’t too tight when pulled up to just below knee height (I’m 6ft) – and the stitching on the socks looks and feels adequate.
A pet hate of mine with socks is the internal stitching around the toe area – I hate feeling pressure on my toes from where the stitching meets, particularly around my little toe – it feels like you have something in your shoe. Thankfully there’s none of that with these sock and the stitching doesn’t bug me.
These socks are comfortable and warm. The elasticated rim of the sock will ensure a nice grip around the top of your calf – should you choose to pull them up.
The design is nice – not too garish – and the socks are reasonably well priced when compared to others.
I can see no real issues with these items and I would happily buy more if needed.
I hope you found my review helpful
Soft and thick
Wow, these socks are lovely and soft, and nice and thick. They are going to be perfect for standing around the football pitch in the winter. They’d be good with wellies too.
Nice and thick
We don’t ski but, we do get cold. These socks will keep my tootsies and legs nice and toasty in the winter while we all sit in the house with no heating on, shivering but our feet will be hot!
This is a public service announcement lol.
In all honesty, they will be so helpful when the temperature drops or snow comes. I look forward to the smugness while I’m looking at the family shivering.
Get these and save on heating bills
Well made, comfortable and warm
Thermal Socks – XL (9-12)
The socks are very long and warm and a good fit (I’m a size 9 and they have a bit of give in them). They reach up to your knees and stay in place with the elasticated top. They aren’t too garish with orange or green boxes and writing on the toe.
Single sock weighs in at 80g, and they seem well made with a clear heel and extra padding on the foot.
The two pairs arrive in a zip-lock bag. This has a sticker with the composition – 80% cotton, 17% polyamide, 3% spandex. No washing information is provided but as predominantly cotton I will risk them in a a machine wash.
Tight fitting but comfortable socks
These are very good quality, long thick socks, but could be tight for anyone with stouter legs .
Having said that , these 4-7 size ,although bought for my wife, a 5’1″ with fairly skinny legs , I managed to get them on too (a 5’10” male with average calves and size 10 shoes) , though they were tightish on me.
I doubt my wife , being 72 , will now ever be taking up any skiing but she will wear these under long boots in the coming winter . Should keep her warm and toasty .
So for me, unfortunately, these socks are unwearable and just more wasted cash – a shame really, because , as stated, the quality is quite good….
EDIT: For anybody else finding these too tight I find that stretching them over a 2lt drinks bottle when they’re still damp from the washing machine and then letting them dry like this makes them a much more comfortable fit.
Warm and comfortable
Well fitting socks, including the toes, which are well finished and for once are designed for normal feet. They have a good length and are comfortable to wear, and should prove warm in cold weather. Better than several other brands of ski socks I’ve tried, where often the toes are bulky and apparently meant for those with square toes.
Superb quality, good stretch for thicker calves.
These are fantastic socks. They are really well made, no rough seams, and the heals and toes are perfect. I have quite a wide calf (well two to be exact) and they stretch to fit without them cutting in at all. I do a lot of walking, all year round with my border collie, we live in a high ground rural village that gets extreme weather so keeping my feet warm is a must. I tried a pair today with my regular walking boots and my feet were really warm, once the snow is on the ground I will be wearing my winter boots, these socks do not slip down in the legs or feet. The arch support is really good, I suffer from plantar fasciitis, so I really appreciate that. These are great value too.
