Got this as my headlamp usb port broke to charge the lithium battery. So instead of buying a new head lamp/touch I took out the battery and charged it in this. Worked a treat!

Good charger has indicator lights. However, doesn’t charge the 2/3 AAA in solar lights which is why I bought it.

I now have a collection of torches using either 18650 or the larger 26700 batteries so I wanted a smart charger to bring them up to full capacity because I am not convinced that charging them in the torches gives them a full charge (I was right about that).

The charger arrived in the usual outer Amazon packet but inside the charger box was protected by a layer of bubble film protecting the cardboard box – this was a good start with no excess packing materials. The box contained the charger, usb lead (type-B micro) and a very small and basic instruction leaflet.

The charger seems to be a well made unit with a straight forward design able to accommodate 4 x 18650 or 2 x 26700 or 1x 26700 and 2 x 18650. The slots for the batteries are all the same size but because the 26700 are a much bigger diameter than 18650 you cannot use the slot next to the 26700 – I think pretty much all chargers use the same layout unless you want to pay out a LOT more money!

The indicator lights really work very well in this unit. If you put in a half charged battery the bottom two lights will stay on permanently indicating half full while the 3rd and 4th lights continue flashing upwards until eventually the 3rd will remain lit while the 4th continues to flash. When all 4 lights are permanently lit the battery is fully charged. Each battery slot has its own set of lights. I found it very user friendly and easy to use.

I used it to charge up a 26700 battery from a high output Lumitact torch which I use for dog walking late at night and which has always impressed me with its output. I had alread charged the battery in the torch till it indicated it was fully charged before switching it to the charging unit which immediately indicated that it was only 3/4 charged. When the charger had finished I replaced the battery and switched the torch on – what a difference! I couldn’t believe how bright it was. I then tried the same with 4 x 18650 from different torches and in every case the result was the same!

The charger aslo allows you to select the ampage through a simple switch 0.5 / 1.0 or 2.0 amps.

All in all I am very pleased with this unit and I would certainly recommend it.
