This was my first cine lens purchase. I wanted to explore using cinema lenses, but not break the bank in doing so. This lens accomplished both of those tasks.

Well built, sturdy, and nicely weighted. I also purchase a protective filter to go along with it – fits like a charm.

The footage looks pretty darned good right out of the camera I’m running a Canon C70, and so the native RF mount is an added bonus.

I was on the fence for the longest time about these lens. Didn’t regret it!

Well built and wery good quality considering the price. It is a pity that the 35mm had a strong green tint, so I sent it back. I am considering to buy the 85mm.

i now have all 3 of these spectrum range cine lenses from 7artisans, having bought the 85mm second hand originally from ebay and completed it with buying the 35mm directly from the company in china. these are simply fantastic lenses, don’t be put off by the low price. smooth action, no play that moves the lens of its fittings during focus racking, great colour matching among all 3.

great lens, far better than expected, well worth buying

This lens has the characteristics of vintage lenses (easy flaring and aberrations), along with more modern sharpness. I used it on my Sigma FP.

Pros: affordable price. Robust housing. Many native mounting options available. Very good sharpness. Low T-stop.

Cons: color rendition is not neutral (correctable in post), flares and aberrations give it more vintage vibes.

Full disclosure: I’m a lens enthusiast and own Nikkor and Vivitar lenses which I use for video. I also own 5 of the legendary Lomo Oks 1-xx-1 Cine lenses (comparable to Zeiss and Cooke optics). Many of the vintage lenses outperform this one and give a more interesting and balanced image. In terms of image quality, the optics here are comparable to Nikkor (AI) photo lenses.

All in all, a nice lens to own but I won’t be building out a full set.
