Will not allow 4K SSD recording if buy 2K cloud by package. Everything defaults to 2K from 4K

Beware - granted access users cannot view local storage recordings
The ARLO cameras is good with cloud storage recordings. However, granted access users cannot view the local storage recordings. A big drawback in the features.
Added 2 More Camera
I added 2 further camera to my Arlo Ultra home security system. I now have an 8 camera system. I had to upgrade my subscription but the new subscription is actually better than what I had before. Very happy with my purchase.
Easy to set up and manage
So far so good. Images are clear. Set up is easy. Installation was easy. Settings via app are easy to use. Only had them a few weeks so too early to recommend . So far I am pleased
Fantastic super clear image
So happy I decided to buy this. Really cool features on the app. Easy to install and Day and Night it’s picture perfect. Also bought an Arlo Floodlight Camera for the other side of the house. Really happy.
Love this item
This is an amazing bit of kit… very expensive but they do a fantastic job.
The only down side is after 12 months you can subscribe to keep recordings going as if you don’t you loose the recordings!… I just run them on notifications.
The motion detection and object/person detection works well. The setup was very straightforward. The main thing to consider is where the cameras are mounted as the mountings are designed to make the cameras easy to remove for charging. If you mount them somewhere that is easy to reach, without a ladder or similar, they may be stolen/thrown away by someone.
Great pictures bu
The quality of the recordings are very good, but then they should be considering the enormous price of the equipment. The Cloud storage also appears to work well and the one year free subscription well appreciated given the overall expense! The brackets for mounting are good especially the magnetic one, providing it is well out of reach. Not too many problems with syncing cameras so far which is good because you have to go via the USA to get any support and then you are redirected to ‘Europe’ days later! Considering the price of the equipment you would think there would be stand alone charging dock. Unfortunately you only get a short USB charge lead and plug which means you have to remove the unit from its position to remove the battery from each unit to charge them or buy a 16 foot cable like I did. Even if you buy a spare battery you are not provided with the charger to charge it! Again had to purchase separately. Each additional camera is 180 and each additional battery is 40 so it soon adds up to being very expensive!
Piece of cake to set up and super quality
This is probably the easiest electronic gadget I have ever set up. No skills needed at all and it just worked! Quality is great too and the App is very easy to use. No quibbles at all!
We upgraded our previous Arlo camera with this one and weren’t disappointed. It’s fantastic with outstanding sound and picture quality.
It identifies whether person, animal, vehicle or package so there is option to cancel notifications for any of these. We live on farm so cancelled animal alerts!
If you are alerted, you can link straight to camera via smartphone app and watch and listen to everything with the option to speak via camera, set off alarm or call a friend.
We added our old camera to the new system easily so now have both in action.
A great investment and highly recommended.
Fantastic produc
Great product! Using in my office as an additional security device. Starts recording if anyone enters in the after hours and sends notifications to my mobile phone via app. Super high definition and colour night vision. Definitely recommended.
Guardedly Good (pun intended)
Lovely bit of kit but it should be for the price. Simple to set up, connect to internet & start using. However 4 stars cos battery for camera on front of the house lasts 2-3 days before needing a charge. I am close to a high street & despite my playing repeatedly with the motion areas it picks up everything. I have to turn it off during the day for the battery to last a week. Rear camera still going strong on first charge a month or so later. Picture quality, detection etc all brilliant but front camera battery life is a source of frustration.
A very reassuring, easy to set up and use, piece of security kit!
Excellent images, live streaming and 4G video clips of the surroundings of my property. Motion sensors pick up visitors and any large birds/animals that venture into the camera zones. Cameras work well at night though the visible distance is compromised unless you have additional motion-sensing PIR lighting. The audible alarm is not great but it would alert intruders to the fact that they are ‘on video’!
On the whole, excellent kit for the money that can be easily added to. Very reassuring to know that I can ‘see’ my property from wherever I might be via my smart phone.

Plenty of custom settings. Additional cameras can be added later. Alexa compatible (not tested yet; waiting for release of the new Show 10). One year Arlo Smart subscription included.
1920 frame width, 4K HD. Choice of full, wide and super-wide angles of view. Battery saver options. Spotlight and sound sliders etc. Activity zones can be made. There are triggering options for people, vehicles, animals etc. SD card files can be viewed on the phone app. Accessories available. A Pro 3 floodlight can be paired to the hub.
I’ve found these to be very reliable, even picking up a blue tit entering a nestbox on the same post. They’ll comfortably capture traffic up and down a garden in short clips of varying lengths. You can view each camera’s live-feed, manually take pictures, turn on the spotlight, intercom and siren. You can watch live-feed and record to the cloud in 4K but not record locally in that resolution.
What’s not so good is that 4K and continuous recording is not available with the included Smart trial (service bundles do vary). Both incur extra expense as upgrades. Without a plan you can stIll live stream and get notifications.
With just moderate traffic the batteries drain way faster than expected. I now use the outdoor cable and solar panel for charging. And the panels fail to charge sufficiently in a UK winter with moderate traffic.
Useful accessories like the long outdoor power supply cable are add ons. Only a short indoor charging cable is included.
The hub range is not as good as expected even with a Wi-Fi range extender. “Ultra 2” is now out in the US, and that promises better range together with dual band compatibility. Make sure to check which model you’re getting!
There still seems to be some quirks with the software. The mobile app will sometimes report that it can’t log you in because you’re not online but cameras will still be recording to the cloud. You can add friends to your account but you’ll find it won’t remember your PC as a trusted device for a quick login.
All in all though; a state-of-the-art wireless camera system but with the vagaries that come with such devices. Probably not for those who aren’t inclined to be tech-savvy and want something low maintenance.
Questionable value
Image quality is ok but not able to read car number plates at any useful distance, just about making out detail in my own cars on the driveway.
Battery life isn’t great, I seem to be up an down the ladder changing batteries more than I thought I would.
I bought the optional solar panels and I guess I don’t live close enough to the sun as they have made zero difference.
All in all it’s a good system, easy to set up and mostly good but with these issues I’d have gone for something cheaper in hindsight.

Bought this at a really good price which went up significantly 24 hours later. The cameras were easy to mount and set up. Night vision is OK but not brilliant. Easy to set up with the Alexa app so I get a alert on my echo dot and on my Fire HD8 when motion is detected. I can also request to see the live feed by asking Alexa

I upgraded to include the Ultra cameras with my previous Arlo cameras and the Ultra cameras have proven to be more responsive to movement and give a good clear picture, very pleased with them so far.

The door bell connects to wifi – but not the hub. It should – but it doesn’t. So compelled to use the cloud because the hub ssd card isn’t accessed

This camera kit is great I was sceptical as I am a teckny phob however this Arlo ultra seemed to set it self up well chuffed. Excellent day and night recordings will definitely recommend.
Replacement CCTV system
I recently purchased an upgrade to my existing Home CCTV system, I installed and came across no end of issues and sent it back to the seller for a full refund.
This time I did my research and came across the Arlo cameras. WOW, it arrived this morning it took approx. 30 minutes to set up the base station and 2 Arlo Ultra cameras, during that time I set up all the settings and allowed access for my wife.
If you are thinking about a CCTV system – I would highly recommend Arlo by far the best in its class and so easy to set up.
Well done Arlo for making it so user friendly.

Upgraded from Pro2
Upgraded from Pro2 – happy I did that, the new Ultra cameras seem to have more battery life and the night vision lamp that comes on is very useful security feature if camera is in an area that doesn’t have lighting. Still wasn’t blown away by 4K resolution, the difference compared to Pro2 appears minimal to me. Generally I like these cameras as they are simple to setup and use.

Superb and quality camera system

Easy to instal (thought that wall mounts provided were a bit fragile, so purchased some aluminium mounts to go with the high quality cameras). A great system for peace of mind
After being broken into a couple of years ago one of the first things we done was invest in a set of Arlo Pro 2 cameras. Whilst these cameras have been great the last couple of years, I wanted something with better night vision and the Arlo Ultras seem to deliver this! With both clearer black and white night vision images and the option for the built in light to turn on which offers colour night vision, these were the perfect upgrade. The wider field of view compared to the Arlo Pro 2 is quite noticeable and is useful. The extra resolution is not worlds apart from the Pro 2 but there is still an improvement. Overall I am happy with the upgrade and would recommend these cameras. Cameras are one of those things you buy after the event but really wish you had before the event!
Works great for me, but the price is a bit steep.
I bought the 3 camera set, love the design and the magnetic mounts (2 supplied). Installation was pretty easy a single screw for the magnetic mounts and 3 screws for the standard ‘fixed’ mount. Setting up the base station with the cameras was also easy; just follow the instructions. My furthest camera to the base station is about 10m (Garage) and the reception is good, so no problem with the wireless signals. Video quality is excellent, although i have yet to turn on the local 4k streaming. The spotlight is bright and helpful, but i also have other lighting so turned them off to save on the battery. The siren was not particularly loud, and not as easy to turn on as i would have like on the app, but the 2-way audio is good enough. For me the battery for all three of my cameras were down to around 50% after a month of use, which works out on average around 10 detection’s a day per camera. I used activity zones to minimise unwanted detection’s, but the zones need to be set smaller than required, got it right after a few days trying it out. I recharge the battery by removing the camera and charging it indoors for a few hour when i am at home, the magnetic mount were easy enough, and the ‘fixed’ mount just had to unscrew the thumb screw fixed at the back of the camera. The problem with this method of recharging is that the activity zones will most likely need to be reset and the camera needs to be easy to get to. Another way would be to attached the charging cable to a power-bank and leave it somewhere safe to charge (may need a longer cable). Camera detection is good, and within 2-3 secs I get a notification on my phone, it is also able to differentiate a person/car/animal 90% of the time. It has managed to capture deer, foxes and cats. Overall I am happy with the system, the app is pretty good but room for improvement, the speaker/siren needs to be louder and obviously the the price could be better.

I AM DISABLE and spend a lot off time in bed, and wanted to see who comes to front, and back doors these cameras are not made for this .
Easy to set up
Works right out the box. The camera on the front of the house runs out in about a week as is constantly triggered by passers by.
The back of the house works as advertised.
If your camera is set up in a busy place you might want to think about wiring it in.
Good camera
Great product, battery could be better. I get between 2 – 3 weeks on a single charge. They do charge quickly. Currently have an issue with the sound on the front camera. I get alot of static noise. This is being looked at by Arlo
Good security cameras but poor base station receptio
Careful placement of the base station is essential before deciding on final position of the cameras. Scaffolding, walls, trees, glass doors etc. all impede the signal which does not stretch too far, about 25 meters in my case. Luckily I have a MESH wi fi so was able to connect the base station to that by LAN cable. I could not get a signal to or from the cameras when it was connected directly to my super-fast cable router in a different room. Now they are up and running they work fine and give a clear picture. I found I had to move one camera off a wall pointing down the side passage because at night the light lit up the wall next to the camera so brightly it prevented the view from being seen clearly down the passage. Plants, animals, birds etc. All trigger the cameras so the batteries do not last anywhere as long as stated in the literature.
I’ve had the Arlo Ultra system running for about a month now (single camera, second camera will be added shortly). Set-up took a few attempts, the base unit didn’t identify the camera at first but having set up it’s worked fine without any problems. App on iphone is good, easy to use with quite a few custom options for the system. Have not had to re-charge the battery yet. Very good image quality, decent ‘night vision’ and detects cars/people/movement well. All in all does the job nicely.
Good quality recordings
Two Arlo Ultra, doorbell and chime. Took 3 attempts to get it all working. Easy to define activity zones, seems good so far except garden cam confuses parasol flapping in the wind for an animal.

I love everything about this kit. Easy and rapid installation, quality results, great features, simple to use. Batteries have been really good so far also, use about 5% a week but it is a low traffic installation so that may be helping. Very happy thus far, no complaints.

Hi, just a short review, great product, easy to set up with the app, good picture night or day, especially with the spotlight on it, there is a 10-20 second delay to watch them, depends on Wi-fi connection, the battery’s was 50% charged out of box , I charged 1 to 100% to see battery life, after 2 day 50% went to 10% and the 100% went down to 90%, but all mine are now powered by adapters bought on Amazon , my only grumble is the fittings for a 900 system are cheap tat, not impressed at all and I have bought better off Amazon than what Arlo supply.
Good but needs work
I bought the ultra 4k cameras and have the solar panels to charge them and they seem to be keeping the cameras at 100% but unfortunately when setting motion detect area it seems to ignore the box you made and just do the whole picture instead. On average though a good camera and easy to setup and install.
I recently decided to upgrade my camera system and after some research via YouTube i picked the Arlo Ultra 2 camera package as i am familiar with their products having already owned the first generation Arlo Pro system which did the job for me for a good few years.
However i must say the Arlo Ultra system completely blows that away!
I had heard there were a few bugs inherent in this product upon initial release but as of 3 days of ownership i have yet to come across any myself.
Aesthetically the cameras and base station are nice although i did take the liberty to airbrush my outdoor cameras black for better camouflage.
The battery life is very good, and both settings and scheduling is simple enough if you know what you are doing.
I have had some great fun with the 2-way audio and my cats, you must try this if you own pets! I’m sure that’s not what it is intended for but nevertheless it’s amusing.
There is one downside and that is lagging. If your Wi-Fi connection isn’t great you might be put off with this but i get by just fine paired up to my smartphone.
The field of vision and night vision is much improved using a wider lens and bright white LED respectively.
Motion detection is superb and can be set to a desired sensitivity.
You do get a 1 year free subscription to Arlo’s online storage and you can also store your videos via a micro SD card inserted into the base station.
Overall i am extremely happy with this product even though its on the expensive side. Give it a try for yourself if you are serious about home protection, you can always return it if you are not happy.
