Small yet powerful, does the job that it’s created for and connects fairly easy. In terms of sound….it could be better, calls sound a bit muffled but for the cost its ok.

    Small and compac

This bluetooth receiver is good for the price. It connects well and the sound quality is reasonable. Easy to use but a bit of an awkward shape, gets in the way a bit.

I wanted a way of charging my phone in my car at the same time as listening to music, or an audiobook, and this seems to solve the problem. I have an iPhone which only has one socket, so I can now use that socket for the charging lead at the same time as connecting the phone by bluetooth to the aux system in the car. It is very easy to set up so that the music comes through the car’s speakers. What I like about this one is that it has a button for switching to calls, which pauses the music while on the call. It has volume increase and decrease buttons on the unit so that you can use either that or the volume control on the car aux system itself. A very simple little gadget and reasonably priced.

Simplicity itself to pair, switch on if not already in pairing mode double press the centre on/off button so LED flashes red/blue and then search for SF-B1002 on chosen devices Bluetooth. I used this on my laptop to connect earphones the sound quality is good with plenty of volume available, watching YouTube video there was a small delay in the audio but not enough to be bothered about. You can have two devices connected at the same time but this will result in a significant audio delay. It has a built in microphone and the centre button allows you to answer and end calls when used as a hands-free for a phone, the unit auto offs after 5 mins of no use. Charging is via a USB C and lead is supplied. The led on the side indicates full charge via blue colour flashing red indicates charging is required, tested at 10 meters and there was no breaking up at all. Straightforward device that seems to do exactly what it says on the box.

Lovely little gadget that literally plugs and plays straight into my Aux in connection in my car. May need charging before use, make sure its already linked to mobile device via Bluetooth then plug it in and hold down middle button. Nice voice through speakers in car confirming its activated then you’re ready to go, I have been using Spotify without issue. My only issue may be the battery life but its still not bad.

    Works well

I have been using this in my car for around a week now, after a similar one I had just decided to stop working on me.

It’s working well enough, and the Bluetooth connection is strong. I haven’t had any problems connecting or disconnecting.

The fact that the 3.5mm jack goes into the left-hand side of the unit is very disappointing to me. It should have connected at the top. The reason I say this is because by having it where it is, it means the receiving unit itself is facing away from when it’s plugged into my car. This makes it harder to press the buttons whilst driving.

I don’t know if it’s because it’s an American design and they drive on the other side of the car, so for them it would be facing them as the driver. But here in England, it means my passenger gets a better feel for it than me.

Having the unit plugged in head on and not to the side would have meant it would universally fit both sides of the car. A missed opportunity, I think.

The battery life is decent and just falls short of lasting until Friday when I have been travelling to and from work each day, starting on the Monday.

Other than that, it allows me to play music from my mobile phone that I wouldn’t otherwise be able to play because I have an old stereo, and it doesn’t have Bluetooth capabilities. Although, and maybe it’s just me, I can’t control the volume using my mobile. I can only do it through the unit itself which can be frustrating, and it should be better designed to incorporate that. It’s easier for me to change the volume via the unit when I’m driving, but it would be nice to have the choice.

I’ve always found using aux cords so frustrating so being able to just connect to this in my car to play music has just made things so much easier for me!

The product came well packaged with instructions and charging cable. I got this to use in my VW UP because I either had to play music via aux or charge my phone – now I can do both! It’s very easy to use and pair with my iPhone, quick to recharge and my phone thinks it’s headphones, so it actually displays how much battery life is left on the device. If your phone doesn’t show that, the device alerts you when close to end of life. The only downside to that is that it repeats itself every 30 seconds or so until it dies, and it overrides the song you’re listening to. It works fine for phone calls too.
Overall really pleased with this and I’ve used it every day since getting it. At the time of review, product is priced at 12.99.

    Great quality

Sounded great, synced with my mobile quickly but it wasn’t the easiest to use. The volume controls don’t sync with your mobile device, you have the volume on to your mobile device and the volume on this attachment and they both work independently which is really odd. The benefit of this is you can get really really low volume if you desired.

A male to male attachment is included but I found it loose when plugging it into any of my devices (headphones, Nintendo Switch etc) so I needed to use my own male to male cable during testing. Other than those few issues this worked well and it does its job so I’ve only removed 1 star.

    Little fiddly

Our Motorhome currently has an old style head unit fitted and does not have bluetooth, just an auxiliary input so it is not possible to stream music from an iPhone without connecting directly with a cable. Therefore, the opportunity to try this bluetooth receiver was welcomed but, having tried other versions in an old car, I didn’t have much hope of it working very well.

Firstly, I like the lack of unnecessary packaging with this item, simply a box and instruction leaflet and none of that ridiculous plastic some manufacturers seem to deem necessary. Having plugged the receiver into a USB charger using the supplied cable, I left it for a number of hours to get a full initial battery charge before using it.

Simply plug the receiver into the head unit auxiliary input, press the power button and that’s all it took, the receiver even spoke through the motorhome speakers letting me know it was turned on, a really good additional feature I wasn’t expecting.

Pairing to my iPhone 11 was very quick and easy and then it was time to try out the sound quality and responsive nature. The sound reproduction was much better than expected and as with all of these bluetooth receivers, there is a slight delay between carrying out an action on the phone and it happening through the speakers. This receiver is no worse then more expensive versions I have tried previously and it does not cause an issue.

Overall, I’n very pleased with this bluetooth receiver and will continue to use it until the old head unit is replaced for a more modern version. Five out of five.

Its surprisingly small. The silver jack on the side is not a part of the black device, its a loose male male jack you can use to hold it as shown in a car. But if you want to bluetooth your phone to your old boombox under the TV, then you can use a cable with male jacks on both ends with the receiver in the front of the amplifier.
I cant use it in the car, its radio has neither a USB nor a jack connection but it was wired with a bluetooth device and has even a microphone at the sun shield. But that all has also no jack and its firmware is so outdated that it doesnt connect anymore (and cant be updated in this VW). So check first which connections your car radio of other devices have.
Assumed your radio has a jack and the receiver is plugged in and hanging there, at the dashboard. Now sitting in UK on the right side of the car, the buttons of the receiver are on the opposite side, not visible and tiny. How shall someone while driving use that switch in case of a call? Thats no easy use, dont try, too risky, maybe illegal. So this item is more for the passengers, not the driver.

This little adapter is really quite good, there is no noticeable reduction in audio quality when compared with the same song played through the same speaker using an AUX cable which was a pleasant surprise. It’s really compact and simple to use making it perfect for cars without bluetooth. My only complaint is I wish it would turn on automatically when it is on charge – this would mean you don’t have to switch it on every time you get in the car and could be tucked away discreetly. The advertised battery life of 16 hours is a little optimistic as mine lasts around 13 hours off a charge which still isn’t bad at all.

I think this is a good bit of kit and good value for money at 15.99.

I’m really pleased with this Bluetooth receiver. I got this product to convert my radio into Bluetooth as my radio has only got an aux input. The sound quality is so much better than being plugged into my phone. And it also gives me the freedom to keep my phone on me in my pocket whilst still playing music through my radio. It’s very simple to set up just plug it in, select the Bluetooth no password required. And your ready to go. Over all great product I highly recommend thanks!

I’ve got an old car, and as such and old car stereo, but a new phone. The two don’t work well together so I ordered this. Simply connect your phone to it via Bluetooth, which was easy to do, then plug this unit into your car and you’ve got a phone that works wirelessly with your stereo. Brilliant.

I have an old Bluetooth AUX unit which was outdated and often cut out and was frustrating. This SOOMFON Bluetooth AUX 5.0 feels well built and offers stellar performance. This Bluetooth AUX adapter is lightweight and has a plastic case and looks stylish design with large easy to press buttons. The unit has ports to plug in the decent length 3.5mm jack and USB cables. This means once I plug it into my stereos jack, I can adjust and stick the unit out of the way. It was a matter of plugging the USB-C end into the Bluetooth unit and the USB end into my stereo, to complete the install. It has inbuilt Bluetooth which has a fantastic range and plenty for car use let alone in a big room. The end of the unit has a USB port which the cable is durable and looks good and plugs in securely and snug. The USB and 3.5mm jack in my car are right next to each other and all I did was plug one to my phone and the other into the headunit. I had the stereo on and put it into AUX mode and chose the Bluetooth adapters name via my phones Bluetooth list and that’s it. It was very simple. Now I can play my phones music via this cable and through the speaker. The adapter has a bass boost but when I have it ON, the energetic vocals loose its shine and energy and the bass muddies things up and is more bassy. In non boost boost mode, the bass is awesome and the vocals are so energetic, clarity and great! The tunes sound great and good clarity and so far, connection was stable and didn’t cut out all night long. Make sure the adapters internal battery is fully charged before using it in the car. Once charged, anytime I get in and out of the car, the adapter will auto connect with my phone. This is awesome! As I don’t have to keep pressing the button to activate it with the phone. If im out of the car for hours, I’ll long press the power button to power it down to save battery. The music quality on my DSD music and hi quality FLAC was noticeably better than before and I can feel more bass and energy in the music. This was amazing as it exceeded my expectations. Each time I turn the engine on and within what seems like 2 seconds and it’s on and ready connected to my phone. Very good product with strong Bluetooth range. Very happy with the item and its well worth the money.
The unit did a good job and brought out the bit of bass that was lacking from my OEM speakers.
Very good value that made such a big difference.

Awesome 5.0 AUX Bluetooth music adapter with big BASS!

Had a few receivers and they’re all different in some way. This one is definitely the best so far!
It’s designed well and isn’t bulky at all! The sound quality is absolutely brilliant and doesn’t distort the sound! It’s also nice and load which is great.
Hold the middle button until it flashes to start pairing and then find it in your phone, Plug it into the AUX port in your car and you’re good to go!
Can also be used in any other device like radios as long as they have an AUX port which most do!
    So happy with this
