Great battery life
An excellent product, looks very cool and nice. Cheap and cheerful, strong material, feels and looks much more expensive than it actually is. Strong and sturdy, makes an excellent gift for a loved one. Packed very well, lightweight and very effective. Definitely recommend. Perfect size and shape. Does not stain very easily, easy to put together and easy to clean, easily packed away for the next time its in use. Works very well, does what it states, no problems with it at all. Lots of great modes and great for the body, have not had any problems with skin or anything.
Really good epilato
This is a really good epilator. It reduces the pain considerably, and leaves your skin soft and smooth. I love the fact that I can also use it in the shower. Recommended.
Easy to use, plenty of features
This comprises a epilator, with a variety of head attachments so you can select the head most appropriate for the area being epilated. For those completely new to epilation – it is basically similar to waxing – i.e. the hairs are pulled out, which provides for smooth hair free legs for a much longer time compared to shaving – the amount of time you are hair free depends very much on your rate of hair growth – I can generally stay completely hair free for a full two weeks before I start to get some re-growth.
This product is really easy to use, and really does grab even the shortest of hairs – leaving my legs with a lovely smooth finish.
It also comes with a shaver attachment – for areas that are too sensitive to epilate. It also comes with a mini trimmer which is really handy for the more awkward, fiddly areas. It is cordless / rechargeable – and it had plenty of charge to epilate both my lower leg areas in one go, with charge to spare. Can be used wet or dry – personally I feel I get a better finish using it dry.
The cordless design is really handy. I have used epilators previously – my old one is now several years old, and I can really notice the difference with this one – it is much improved, and easier to clean.
Perfect what I needed
I got it in grey/silver. It is a braun silk epil 7 eplaitor set. It is a battery powered, so 1 AA battery is included in the trimmer. It is comfortable to use. It is painless. Easy to use. It can be used in wet or dry usage. It’s approximately takes 3- 4 weeks for regrowth hair. After using it, feel so smooth skin. It is 3 in 1, which is a shaver and trimmer and mini trimmer. It also got an epilator head, an extra skin contact cap, a small cleaning brush, a plastic head protector cap, 2 pin plug and braun charging cable. We need to buy a standard UK plug adapter. Also, instruction manual and grey drawstring bag for storage. White led display flashing while charging. When it is fully charged, it stops flashing. It approximately takes 1 hour to 1 hour and 30 mins. Also, it takes 40 mins to use. It also has a smart light. Works well. It is very pricey. Good quality.
Lightweight and easy to use.
Just to clarify, I am reviewing the Braun Silk-pil 7 SE7-210 which is the pink version.
This comes with a bikini shaver and various attachment along with a two-pin shaver plug and a drawstring bag to keep it all together. Luckily, we have a shaver plug in our bathroom, if you don’t you will need a plug adaptor to charge it up.
It’s a rechargeable epilator and something which I have been using for years so I’m used to the feeling of having your hair plucked out, it’s definitely something you get used to the more you do it.
This kit is great, the main epilator is nicely made and easy to hold, being quite lightweight in use and the fact it’s cordless in operations makes getting too hard-to-reach areas like behind the knees much easier to do.
It basically pulls out the hairs by the root like a dozen tweezers all working at once to get rid of unwanted hair. The bonus of this over shaving is that it takes much longer for the hairs to grow back and after many years of use should kill off the hair follicle entirely meaning you no longer need to use any kind of hair removal.
I tend to use an epilator during the summer months, this way I can forget about shaving and be happy in the knowledge that when I want to wear shorts or a skirt my legs are going to be smoother for longer periods.
The bikini shaver is a welcome addition to the bundle and it great for the obvious area, but also has attachments for eyebrows should you wish to give them a quick shape up.
It’s a fab upgrade to my old one and should provide years of use.
Braun quality and good results
This is the third epilator that my better half has owned and the first from Braun lasted a very long time (and is still used on occasions) but does not have the advantage of being cordless.
This arrived in their well branded box, making it a lovely gift for that someone special. It has the epilator and shaver head (wider version new to the epil 7) along with the smaller body trimmer. It also has the skin contact cap, Trimmer cap, a brush and pouch. So effectively, you are covered and it is small enough to take with you if you haven’t had a chance to use it pre-holiday.
All functions work well (and the light is handy) but being cordless, really does make the procedure that much easier without dangling wires. The battery lasts up to 40 minutes and it boasts 100% waterproofing for wet and dry use. Safety first: Never have anything plugged in whilst in the bath or shower. Braun suggest that less pain/more comfort is achieved when used with warm water in the bath or shower. The smaller body trimmer comes supplied with a branded AA battery.
The Epilator has two modes (normal and gentle mode) that is ideal for doing more sensitive bikini areas. The overall build is great (well it is German) and I can recommend this brand as we still own various shavers/epilators and have only update these for new features rather than breakdowns.
The initial price was quite high however, at the time of writing this review, there is a 50% off promotion making it much more affordable at 94.99 and in my opinion, a great buy.
My 3rd and favourite epilato
I got this half price so I was very happy about that. It makes epilating really easy and the fact it is rechargeable is a big plus. The charge lasts quite a while too. It’s been the best epilator I’ve had by far.
1st time user of an epilator!
Liked ease of use, relatively low level pain on first go (a bit like a tingle), so much less painful than waxing (!), shaver is good addition to the epilator for the really sensitive bits.
Would have preferred a docking station for charging it. Quite expensive.
WAYYY BETTER THEN A NORMAL RAZOR
This product is amazing!! of course the epilator is going to hurt to some extent but it’s more than worth it and works SO well. The razor is amazing, causes no pain whatsoever in contrast to the average razor even when used on the most sensitive areas. Would highly recommend!! The glove is brilliant for any moisturiser etc application, really helps it sink in and requires less of the desired product/applicator then by hand.
Good price
Very nice product you can buy seeing this brand BRAUN . It’s always good performance and easy to use and clean the machine and shaves very smoothly with our loud noise.
Good stuff
I love it .I had a older version of this one, I used it for nearly 18 years , and thought is time to upgrade this one is cordless and +has a ligh
Results are worth the (bit of) pai
Yes, it’s a bit painful – but ripping hair out of your legs en masse will be! It soon settles down and the results are decent – I let it grow out a fair bit to try to ensure I could get ’em all, and about three weeks later, only a few are sprouting back, most are struggling!
I also used this on my armpits. I would recommend using the cooling glove thingy the first time as this was properly painful – much cursing ensued… It was easier the next couple of times, though.
Suprised how good it is.
To start off if you don’t wax or already use one of these I would probably give it a miss.
This is my first epilator prior to this I use to have my legs waxed which I why I think the pain of using this is non existent for me where as my sister tried it out and couldn’t bare it at all and nearly threw the thing across the room. Everyone’s different but I’m really happy with the purchase and glad I made the move from waxing as I can now do this myself and will cost less in the long run. I’d say its the same if not better than waxing.
She has two now!
My wife has two now as the old one needed to be restored and she did not want to wait for it to happen, we got another as it is the best you can get now i restored the old one and she has two.
Very pleased I upgraded
I replaced my mains wired epilator with this one and was not disappointed… should have done it years ago!
It’s my first epilator ever. I didn’t want to buy a cheap one. This one is a fab little piece, my legs are not sensitive so it felt like scratching when removing the hair. I’m not ready to use it on my armpits yet! I used a shaver though, I was pleased with effect. The aftermath: legs were smooth for few weeks, I had to deal with ingrown hair because it’s soft and thin on that area of my body. Trimmer also works great. Easy to clean and charge. It would be awesome to have a travel pouch included.
You would have to be made of battleship material to use this…I’m pleased to say iam! Lol great hair removal & lasts way better than shaving!
I’ve had this brand for years, the shaver head eventually stops working after years of use and I can never get a replacement head so I end up buying a whole new device so pleased with this one so far.
Great replaceme
Bought this shaver to replace my older one of 10 years which had sadly given up. The newer model has lights which allow you to see underneath your legs and pleased to see technology has improved during this time as you can now decide which way you determine the razor to move to remove those awkward stubborn hairs. I’ve used for many years and have always used this brand. Its expensive as a one off purchase but hopefully this model will last just as long as my previous one did!
Fabulous epilato
Love it! Super easy to use, fast and painless . 100% happy
I have been interested in buying one for a while but was worried about how painful it may be. Pain isn’t so bad and gets easier the more you use it. Keeps my legs smoother for longer. I am very happy with it.
This is a great product, but don’t expect it to be pleasurable, especially on your nether regions. However, it is built really well and works very well. It’s got the weighty, solid feel of a quality product. I haven’t tried other epilators, so I can’t offer a comparison.
Nice, mode
Much nice than my old one. I love that you can use it any where as it doesn’t need to be changing while using.
I’ve been using this for a few weeks as an alternative to waxing. First few sessions and you know it’s doing its job, a slight pain sensation but nothing drastic. This stops after a while.
Good results, my legs were hair free and smooth for nearly 3 weeks.
I haven’t used it on my face so can’t comment on that but it does come with a guard for facial use.
The battery life is good, initial charge took about 2 hours but it lasted 4 sessions of about 40 mins each. It’s very easy to use and the instructions are clear. The accessories are good too.
If you want to be hair free and can take a little bit of discomfort this is worth trying.
Very uncomfortable/painful to use at first, but the more you use it the more accustomed you become. I’ve only used it for my lower legs, anywhere else is just way too painful to attempt desensitisation. Less time to wait between uses compared to waxing, and not as smooth as shaving but it gets a large majority of hairs out.
The trimmer that comes with it is lethal! So many pinched bits of skin that result in cuts, even from careful use – avoid bikini area!
I love the fact that this is cordless, so you can use anywhere and get the best light on the job. Works really well. You might miss a few bits, but I go over my legs once a week (takes 2 mins) and then you don’t miss much!
Was worried about the battery life as I remove hair on full leg area. No need it did the job admirably. This little machine was far more painless than my old one and pleasant (well as much as it can be) to use!
The new silk epil 9 claims to have a 40% wider head. This is it next to my silk epil 7 that just died. Not sure if a man did these measurements, but as you can see in the photo, it’s definitely not 40% bigger than previous models!
Works just as well as my old one, no complaints.
Great and mostly pain free too!!
Absolutely love this, so good. Fairly pain free too. Definitely better and will be cheaper than waxing long term! Couldn’t do under arms as too painful but perfect for my legs!
Oh my goodness...
I originally had the Braun Silk-pil 7 Epilator, which I have been using for a number of years now. As it still worked and did the job I thought there was no point in splashing out and buying a new one. Well recently on a whim I thought I would do just that and decided to get the newer version Braun Silk-pil 9 Epilator and oh my goodness I am so glad I did. It’s like someone re-invented the wheel! Whilst I had no problems with my old one this is so so much better, not only is it cordless but it seems faster, is more efficient with it’s larger head, so covers a bigger area and therefore takes less time. I could not be more impressed! My poor old epilator is now relegated to the bottom of the drawer and my new one takes pride of place in the top drawer.
I used to have epilators in the past but I guess the technology wasn’t as advanced as it took a long time to get the job done. With this one it’s so easy and it covers a larger area. It also pulls out shorter hair nicely. Really pleased. Highly recommend!
First time trying epilation. I’m already a fan after one use.
It can be a bit sore but the massage head defo lessened the pain while doing my legs.
I had to use the head that gets closer to the skin for under my arms and this experience was a lot more painful. I just had a few seconds break when it got to much to bare tho.
It’s a really fast and efficient way to get rid of unwanted hai
Well worth the price
Having previously tried an epilator several years ago, I never intended using one again because the pain was so bad. However, after waxing, I didn’t like having to wait for all the hair to grow back to remove it so I thought I’d try it again. I’m glad I did, because it has made hair removal a lot easier for me. I found it slightly painful on the thigh and bikini area but legs, arms and underarms didn’t really hurt at all.
The device charges quickly and is easy to use, although I had to buy a 2 pin to 3 pin adaptor to use in England. A single charge let me do both full legs, both full arms, underarms and bikini area. First time took about and hour and a half, subsequent times have taken about an hour to do the lot. I’ve been doing it weekly but I’ve heard the time between epilations increases and pain decreases as you use it, so I hope that’s the case. I can’t really compare to other modern epilators but I have been really impressed with this one and wouldn’t hesitate to buy again.
So having had my one and only silk epil from early 2000’s I had to buy a new one when it suddenly died. I bought this Braun silk epil 9 and OMG how much technology has changed compared to my old one. This is sooo good, they way the head moves around your leg and to be honest I can’t feel any pain because of so many tweezers! I haven’t used the shaver option yet but I am sure it will be good too! Recommend for an almost pain free, super smooth skin experience!
Works well, easy to use.
Product is easy to hold and easy to use. Good results on hair removal.
Worth the money
I don’t write many reviews but after reading A LOT about this before spending the money, because let’s be honest it’s not cheap! but ……..I do think its worth it. I’ve had braun 5 for a few years which always worked pretty well and i was generally pleased with it but this is something else, easy to hold and nice in the hand, with the larger head it covers a bigger area and I couldn’t believe how quick I was finished and without having to go over the same area several times like with my 5 meaning my facial skin was much less irritated. Overall very pleased with my purchase the only reason I haven’t given 5 stars is the heads that go over the tweezers, so you can do a smaller area only come in very narrow or quite wide, there doesn’t seem to be a medium one which is the one i used to do facial areas with my old epilater.
Better than shaving and paying for waxing, a bit time consuming
Like all other epilators, it takes a while to do. It may hurt the first time round but you get used to it. Hair regrowth takes longer than with shaving and unlike waxing it does not stretch your skin. This saves me a lot of money. Easy to hold. Usually you get about 95% of the hair.
I will say though that like all other epilators I’ve used, regardless of how much you clean it, hair will eventually gather inside and stop the head from turning and working. At this point you have to take it apart and de-hair it, which requires a screwdriver and some dexterity. If you don’t screw it back together properly it prevents you from using it with the head protector.
I am usually a shaving girl, waxing just didn’t cut it for me, decided to give this a go amd am really impressed, almost painless, really easy to use in shower, good battery life, light is really useful. I have very fine, light colored hair so not sure if it would be as easy with courser hair, but for my legs it was fab. Recommend.
Ow (updated)
Old review: Hurts a lot and kinda just isn’t worth the pain :(( leaves a lot of red dots where hairs were and and kinda caused a lot of ingrown hairs,, wasted money for me but I suppose for people with less sensitive skin it could be fiine hehe
Update:
Reused a couple times now and I’d say it’s actually quite good, but you have to be really patient when using for the first time (or at least in my case) appears to be significantly easier the more times you do it, however it does still hurt, a lot, and does leave the area a bit red/ sore after, however applying some aloe Vera gel on to it and making sure to exfoliate before seems to reduce this redness fairly quickly, only a few in grown hairs that I am attempting to treat with “tend skin”, which does appear to be working, plus around the times of not shaving, continuing to use moisturizers etc also does help. It isn’t perfect but then again there isn’t seemingly any hair removal method that is. I would recommend if you can bare some level of pain and also looking for something that leaves you with smooth skin for quite a while (after the initial uses of course).
I liked the end result that I achieved with this epilater, taking off all of my pubic hair in the bath, although a little discomfort was expected, I do now have a totally smooth pubic area, which will I hope will last a long time. The area is still smooth 5 days later, so pretty impressed. It may be aimed at women, but it did the trick for me, and it is recommended for men on youtube videos. It’s now 4 weeks since I used this, and my pubic area is still smooth, so much so, that I’m wondering if my pubic hair will ever grow back, which is a slight worry, so will update if it does. It is now April 25th 2022, and my pubic hair isn’t really growing back, as I thought it would, so still a little worried that it won’t grow back at all. I’ll add an update in a few more months, if I see any regrowth. Now May 18th 2022, and very fine hair starting to come back, although patchy, and not very manly to what it was, but partner not really bothered either way, but I had read similar stories before. Update 19th Jan 2023, my pubic hair is almost non-existant, with some areas really smooth, so I’m wondering if I should have done this, as it seems to be permanent. I must admit that I’m very happy with my pubic baldness, as long as my partner doesn’t mind, although she asked me only last week why I did it, but I didn’t dare to say that it’s a permanent situation now. I’ll update if anything changes, although I like the feel of it now, & hope she does.
I have been epilating since my sister bought me a Phillips epilator aged 16. I am 50 now and this week my Phillips sparked when I plugged it in and aged 34 it was consigned to the bin. I never shave anymore but I don’t epilate that regularly either, hiding my hairy legs in leggings and tights over winter…I know…attractive eh?! Over the years my leg hair growth has certainly become more sparse and the process less painful, although underarms are still a bit eye watering. So I read the reviews and decided to splash out on the silk Epil which is rechargeable, and comes with a sleek battery operated pen shaver for intimate areas. I bought the two pin adaptor at the same time. I charged it up for two hours and set to work, with very poor lighting as the sun was dropping…on my legs, which were last epilated around one month ago. I tried it on setting one and I noticed that there was no pain whatsoever, it felt like using an electric razor. It was quieter than my old model which made a fearsome sound akin to tractor mowing over metal. The light is a fabulous idea, and really allowed me to grab all the hairs. Old epilator didnt have a light, and I always missed some of the hairs that were growing in different directions. Old epilator was also a great deal more uncomfortable to use. I turned the power up a notch onto the second setting recommended for seasoned users and I could feel it this time, more like the discomfort of my old one, although not quite, and more than tolerable. I was left as always with legs that dont feel as silky smooth as a razor shave, but do feel a good deal smoother than old epilator offered and I definitely feel that the coverage was a good deal better. I turned next to my pits. Perhaps I should have taken advantage of the battery operated shaver that came as part of the package and trimmed my rather long sparse underarm hair before attempting to rip it out by the roots, but I didnt and accordingly it was rather unpleasant. I attached what I thought was the massage head, recommended for sensitive areas, but realised afterwards that I had used the facial hair head instead, which restricts the area of coverage, perhaps prolonging the agony. However, my pits are now hair free and they do feel smooth. I then turned to the hairs that have popped up on my upper lip…I really am not the hairy ogre that this review portrays, but want to tell it like it is…..so I used the facial hair attachment again and OOCH…..gosh this hurt, it is though the first time I have ever addressed facial hair with an epilator, hence I think this would get easier as it has with my legs for sure. Finally I had a quick whip around the bikini line with the pen razor….easy to use and very effective and it hasn’t irritated my skin at all. Job done in around 10 minutes. So all in all, I have to say I am very pleased with this product. I will probably use it more than my old one, on account of ease (no cords to get in the way), pain (certainly on the legs this felt much easier and on setting one, a walk in the park…… The lead with adaptor is slightly too bulky to fit in the bag with all the attachments etc which is a shame, but other than that I can’t fault it. I have purchased a loofah, because I feel this might bring the silkiness closer to a razor shave, as you can get bumps developing from ingrowing follicles if you don’t exfoliate and I havent really paid too much attention to this part of the regime as an infrequent exfoliator. I will be interested to see how long this session lasts for. Having applied some moisturiser to my legs, they do feel pretty smooth, and I think this product is well worth the money. I hope it lasts me another 34 years by which time I will have more hair on my lip than my head.
After nicking my leg badly yet again with a razor I thought I’d give an epilator a go
Braun epilators generally came out as the best available so tried to decide between the Silk-pil 7 or Silk-pil 9 but because the 9 has a larger/wider head I went with the 9 so it’s quicker to use
As soon as I received it I charged it up using the shaver socket in the bathroom and gave it a go on my legs thinking it was going to be very painful but to my surprise it wasn’t that bad at all and got used to the sensation really quickly
After my legs I tried it underarms but that was a little painful but I think that’s because I’d let the hair grow a bit too long so used the trimmer (supplied on the shaver head with the 9-890) to trim the hair shorter and tried again and that was much better
Tonight I thought I’d try it on the intimate area so I again trimmed the hair first (using the handy little bikini trimmer supplied with the 9-890) then used the epilator, it was a little bit painful at first but very soon got used to it and had no problems
I’ve only used it on dry skin but I’m sure it’d be even better, and gentler, if used wet in the bath or shower with warm water
The Silk-pil 9 seems to remove even the shortest hairs no problem, it’s supposed to pluck down to 0.5 mm
I wondered if I’d use all the attachments supplied with the 9-890 but I’ve already used most of them and next I’m going to try it on the face with the facial cap fitted
It’s worth noting that all the Silk-pil 9’s are all the same unit but just supplied with more or less attachments (same goes for the Silk-pil 5’s/7’s etc)
I’d highly recommend you give an epilator a go (especially the Braun’s) as it’s not nearly as bad a sensation as expected, but that might depend on your pain threshold I guess
The Silk-pil 9 was quite expensive (even on offer) but, for me, totally worth the initial outlay as this will get a lot of use
As my title states “I Should Have Purchased One Years Ago!!”
