I brought to attach to the rear usb port of an Android S8 Chinese VW Head Unit. I read reviews here that worried me, only worked for a week or 2 etc. Had me worried.
All I can say is I’ve had this for 2 months now. Setup and updated as per supplied instructions. Both my wife’s and my phone are paired to it and we’ve not had any problems with it working, dropping out or anything. It works fine for us.
One thing we are now careful of is we travel together then if we both have Bluetooth on when starting up then either could autolink. It is wireless after all. So we try to remember for one of us to turn Bluetooth off on our phone before starting the car, normally the passenger, so it auto connects to the driver’s phone as wanted.
So yes I did read all those reviews saying it fails, even after a short time, but I’m in my 3rd month now with no such issues. It works for me. My phone’s an S10+ if that is any consequence to its functionality.

Bought one of these after considering similar item from another company. This Carlinkit A2A device was available quicker and very slightly cheaper than the alternative.

The package was compact and well protected so no complaints there. The device itself is small and neat, easy to tuck away in a centre console or armrest if your usb ports are suitably located.

The setup of the device was pretty straightforward and worked without issue connected to my Google Pixel 6 Pro and then connected to my car with a Ford Sync 3 system.

In the time I’ve owned it, the device has only disconnected once, very briefly, and had the odd skip in music (maybe 2 or 3 times in total), but this could simply have been the car’s usb port, not the device itself. I’ve not noticed any excessive lag or delay when using the car’s screen or steering controls.

The only issue I had was getting to the settings of the device (to update the firmware) via its built in gateway page, similar to setting up or configuring a network router. It’s a bit hit and miss juggling with WiFi settings on your phone to get to the page, but suspect it would work better if you just plug the device into a power bank (so it gets power without it trying to connect to your car at the same time which is what was happening), then simply connecting to the device’s WiFi and setting page. Maybe I’ll do that next time, but overall the device is very good, it leaves my phone free at the drive through to pay for something without unplugging it as I had to with wired Android Auto.

So to sum up, it just works.
