Pleasantly surprised. Seems like a solid object so far. As Laptops and PC cases with space for an optical drive are becoming rarer, I bought this to use with my desktop PC and my laptop for those rare occasions I’ll need a DVD drive.
Small and easy to use
There isn’t much to say. The product does what it says on the tin. I connected it to the USB post of my laptop and have used it to play CD ROMs as my laptop (like the vast majority of recent models) doesn’t have a disk drive. It is straightforward to use and packs up neatly when not in use.

Portability and and easy to use for travel and home
I like simplicity and portability with this product
I have used to backup and store pictures and documents and watch films haven’t listened to music yet though.
The one issue i had was not to do with the dvd playe
My only issue was that my laptop hadn’t a dvd player app installed. Otherwise i would have saved a few seconds before watching The Godfather.
It looks as nice as on the images and is exactly what I was looking for.

Easy plug and play external CD DVD drive for Windows 10 laptop
Plugged into an Asus Zenbook, with USB-A ports, and the drive worked without additional drivers needing to be installed.
The CD/DVD drive is neat with a cable tidy in its base for the USB connectors.
Successfully tested DVD playback via VLC media player.

Nice design and perfect for the job
Bought this drive, as for the 1st time ever I did not want to add an internal drive to my new PC build. It performs perfectly and also has a nice design. Works on both standard USB2.0/3.* and USB-C, both cables can be seen on my photos.
I’ve also used this on my laptop and works perfectly on that platform as well.
Great item and with an 8x burn speed on DVD’s a great way to keep media that you don’t want to trust to a thumb drive (USB stick).

Does what it says on the ti
Bought a new TV – which doesn’t have a DVD player or a Scart socket. With several hundred DVDs the idea was to transfer them to an external hard drive and view the DVDs via the USB socket. The transfer has been flawless and at a very reasobale transfer rate. The drive certainly works as quickly as I want it to. My only criticism would be that I would have liked a slightly longer cable, but it isn’t too short, just me being picky.
Works fine reading and ripping CDs. Make sure you read the instructions to install and set up the right software to open and use. Also USB port at front of a desktop may not be suitable to hook this unit up to (mine wasn’t) – use port at rear of machine. This is also explained in the instructions.

DVD/CD Player that works on Windows & Mac
Got this for use on my MacBook Air (M1) and a HP Windows PC (devices don’t seem to have built in DVD drives these days). It works fine on both – simply used the DVD Player App on the MacBook. Worked first time on both machines, looks quite good – and the cable (has both USB and USB-C) tucks away neatly. Not especially quiet but I wouldn’t necessarily have expected that. Paid about 20 so was good value.
DVD worked eventually
Windows 10 took many reboots before the DVD writer could be found and remain found. The supplier would not email the link to the driver as promised. The USB cable is very short which is a problem if the PC is under a desk.

Bought for Dad to watch his dvds on when Mums watching Strictly. He loves it. Compatible with his laptop and very easy to use/set up. (he’s 71).
First impression was “oh nice”! Feels and looks high quality. Packaging was nice too. Already played few dvd concerts on this dvd player and still going
