Amazing customer service.
After using for twelve and a half months the straighteners broke. I contacted ghd through contact seller on amazon and they sent me all return information immediately. I returned them and had no contact from them for 3 weeks, so wasn’t hopeful of the outcome. I emailed, and the reply was the straighteners were being processed and I would hear in due course. A few days later I received a tracking email and then a brand new pair of straighteners arrived, thanks to Emily, Ghd, who kept me informed following my email.
Fantastic little straightene
After using these for a couple of months now I can honestly say I am very impressed with these. They come with a heat protective cover which I think is brilliant because they won’t burn your surface as they’re cooling down. They don’t snag or pull your hair which is obviously a deal breaker for straighteners. My only one negative comment is that you can’t adjust the heat setting so if you already have damaged hair I probably wouldn’t recommend them for that reason. Personally I think they would make a great back up straightener or even a first pair of straighteners for a teenager. Overall I highly recommend these.
Long hair's new best friend
For those with long, rebellious hair, this straightener is a revelation. Its wider plates ensure that larger sections can be styled at once, cutting my styling time significantly. The promise of sleek and straight hair in half the time is not an exaggeration. Each pass leaves my hair looking shinier and feeling softer. While it’s a blessing for longer hair types, those with shorter hair might find the wide plates a bit challenging.
Lovely
I’ve been an avid GHD uses for years. Anything else I’ve tried has either lasted 5 minutes or completely ruined my hair. After my first set I never looked back so when I saw these I ordered them to use on my family members that have longer/thicker hair than I do. The quality stands up to the GHD name. They feel strong and sturdy and I have no doubt they’ll last just as well as my other ones (almost 10 years old now and still going strong). My niece had VERY thick and long hair and these go through it like butter and make he hair super straight and smooth without damaging it.
The operation is nice and simple as always with GHD. Just use the single button provided to turn on and off.
The set also comes with a silicone sleeve to cover the plated end so you can transport them without burning anything quite soon after use.
I removed a star because the price seems to be higher these days even though there are no major improvements in the technology (not that there needs to be), and you don’t get a case or bag of any sort with them so all you have is the silicone sleeve.

Great hair straighteners with great results

The live up to the usual GHD reputation. They heat up fast and perform very well leaving a great finish on my hair. Compared to my old GHD straighteners, these seems to give a good result in much less time which cuts down on getting ready. They do what they say on the tin and do it well. My only slight niggles are that the plastic used for the shell doesn’t feel that great for the high 200 asking price. As they are new, I’d wait for the price to drop lowe
Smooth sleek stying
Always been a fan of Ghd. These in particular had my hair done so much quicker with the wider plates. It has a swivel cord so you don’t get all tangled for ease of use. They heat up almost instantly when switched on, I don’t think I’ve had a styler heat up so quickly before. Achieved nice curls and frizz free straight hair. I have attached a before and after photo.
The plates when hot did have some kind of factory smell which I hope will eventually go away. Very strange to have a straighener that doesn’t have a temperature gauge. There is only an on and off button on these. Has a safety auto shut down when not in use for 30 minutes! Overall they are really nice straighteners, just not sure about not being able to change the temperature settings.

I have medium length hair for which I straighten each time I wash it. These straighteners take less time than the slimmer version but they are harder to use to get the small / straggly pieces of hair.
When curling my hair, these create bigger curls but ultimately I prefer the slimmer/classic version.

Perfect for my Thick Hai
There was a fault with the 1st pair, my husband contacted the seller and they were replaced immediately, so 10/10 for customer service ! Straighteners themselves are excellent, I’ve thick, wavy, long hair and these have cut my straightening time in half and no more aching arms ! Plus the end result is perfectly straight and shiny.
Easy to use but over priced
I have long thick hair and ordered these as my original slim plate GHD’s are 15 yrs old (still work) and snagging. Also takes me 25 mins to straighten my hair. These new wide plates are easy to use and prob took 15 mins. Hair looks much more straight and has lasted a few days. However still not gliding through my hair in one go and is still snagging. Totally over priced at 150

Good hair straightene
Do love my GHDs for some reason they don’t appear as good as my originals, which broke after many years of weekly use. These are still good / worth paying a bit more for quality as cheaper alternative damaged my hair.

I purchased these as an upgrade to my 8 year old small plate GHD straighteners as my friend had said how amazing they were.
They did not disappoint!!
I have shoulder length hair which is very thick so I absolutely need a good straightener to keep my tresses under control. My old GHD’S have served me well and are still in perfect working order. However these Max straighteners are a total game changer!
With my old GHD’s I would always experience some element of frizzing the minute I stepped outside in any sort of weather. This is simply not the case with the Max pair. I could straighteners my hair with these and then stand in a steamy shower and my hair would still be as sleek and smooth as when I straightened it.
In my opinion these are worth the money and more besides as I’m now saving on all the expensive hair products I used to have to buy. Amazing product!
Hair straighteners that work.
I was dubious that these would actually do the job, my hair is very thick and a mixture of fizzy and unruly. But these actually worked and I am delighted with the outcome, and worth the investment.
OMG these are life changing!
My hair is really thick and long – it was taking me 40 mins with my old standard size GHDs, but it’s 10 mins or so with these, and it stays straight!! I am now thinking maybe I don’t have to have layers to keep my hair under control, it’s so silky and straight now! Totally worth the money when you think of energy bills and time.
Expensive but worth i
My wife finally conceded it was time to replace her 20 year old GHD with these new, wider ones. She seems very happy with them and is able to do her her in less than half the time.

Tried many different hair straighteners, including GHD, and these seem to be the best so far. Turn on in seconds and ready to use.
Hair stays straighter for longer, although you do feel the heat when using them. Very easy to use, even on shorter hair like mine
