Effective in showing direction of strike
It works well but I have larger heads on my clubs and they make a very mark on the mat. The direction is still very clear. The mat is well constructed and robust.

I have now hit 500 shots off the mat which is standing up really well to use–as a tip I glued mine to a thin board which provides a much better stability when hitting off grass
