I am on to my second unit of these, I love it.
It is not ideal it has some issues that may be worth knowing before you purchase it.
I have grown chili plants and it was very good to get them going, due to being new to this the plants started to wilt and I learned that PH and Nutrient balance is critical in the plants you are growing, so pick up a PH meter and EC/TDS meter. These will help you monitor the water levels and keep your plants in the mix they love and thrive in.

It grows plants so quickly its amazing…

    Ok.. ISSUES!
1: Changing water – The top piece that has all the sponges in lifts off easy enough, and when the plants are self supporting its easy to move to a bowl or sink where you can sit it while you deal with water and cleaning. Its reccomended to do this every 2 weeks… now the sponges mean that plants tilt and move easily, so when they are taller and heavier, they can fall when you’re moving them and easily get damaged. So plan your move ahead.
2: Do not get water into the machine, when cleaning it do NOT sit the whole unit in the sink, water will seep into the circuitry, same for the light, where it slots into the base it can get water in, this will then corrode quickly. You will find symptoms like the light flickers or needs waggling to come on, and then eventually it stops working. Im trying to source replacement boards as they are fairly easy to service IF you can get the bits.

So in conclusion, I really like the unit, but have learned the hard way of the slight weaknesses of it. The unit comes with ties for tieing the plants to the lights to support them, this is great until you need to clean the unit, then you have to untie all the plants, and support them during the move as the foam planters at the bottom of the plants moves and is loose… so the plants tip and tilt.

I am still very much learning my way around this product and how to get the best from it, but I do like it.
And hopefully from my initial learnings I can grow more chili plants successfully.

This is a nice system for boosting plant growth with water oxygen and light. The light brightness settings are adjustable easily and it is fairly simple to setup the timer function. Not quite silent but works as expected.

No mould like you can get with soil. Seedlings appeared within 3 days, and in a few weeks had great growth. The app is good, but be wary of running software updates – it reset the app to defaults so I had to reprogram timers and seed locations.
I would love for a product like this to add a camera to take stop motion photos.

This model is called lite however it is the most basic model and does not use an app etc.
It is well made and although there are a lot of pieces the assembly is easy and the instructions to assemble and use are straight forward.
As a trial I have planted tomatoes, lettuce and peppers, for anything like tomatoes or peppers get the varieties that don’t grow too high, unless you are going to plant them out later, as although the lamp height is adjustable it only goes up to 30cms.
Once assembled you fill it up with water to the max level, there is also a large LED display that shows the water level.
Put the “Grow sponges” into the holes after having presoaked them, put one/two seeds into the centre of the grow sponges. There are tweezers supplied to help position the seeds.
Put the “Grow domes”, like a mini cloche, over each grow sponge.
Turn it on set the lighting to “Vegetable” and the “Lighting Time” to 16H-24H as the plants grow you change the lighting mode and lighting time and add plant food.
All so well and good After 3 days the lettuce started to sprout followed two days later by the peppers and a bit later the tomatoes.

This is as far as I have got, hopefully they will continue to grow and I will get a crop I can use.
    BUT
This is where I get confused there is no information as to how long the light stays on, I also thought that the light was not needed until seeds germinate as normally they do it in the dark.
The initial recommended light setting is 16H-24H but this is quite meaningless as there are 16, 12, 8 and 4H settings. On starting up the light comes on and sometime over night it turned off and I saw it come back on fairly early in the morning. I thought that perhaps 16H-24H meant 16H out of 24H, but it can’t be that as the instructions say 8H-18H while the plants are growing. Until the seeds started sprouting I turned the light off.
    IN SUMMARY
A good start to “Hydroponics” I just wish there was more information. If I was going to buy one I would get the top of the range as although I can see little advantage in an app to control it a heater would be very useful.

Delivery as expected. Set up very easy good quality compact build. App and Wi-Fi easy to set up following instructions. Planting instructions easy to follow. Pump quiet no louder than a fish tank when on. Like the fact you can set a custom run time so it turns off at bed time and comes on in the morning. Lamp glow can be adjusted to enhance which ever room you place it in. All planted and set up with a mix of pepper, chillis salad veg and some herbs. Will be interested to to see results hence only 4 stars.

    All good so far.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersSaw this and thought I’d give it a go.
It’s a reasonably sized indoor hydroponic growing system.
It arrives really well packaged so no damage and there are basically 3 parts to put together.
The base that houses the pump & gets filled with water.
The upright stand that connects the base to the light unit.
    The light unit itself.
The upright is height adjustable so you can raise & lower the light unit as required.
This is the GS1 Lite model and there’s a good booklet explaining how to put everything together & how to set it up.
    The package also includes
Growing baskets (that the sponges fit into)
Grow sponges that you put the seeds in
Grow domes that are like little clear lids to cover the seeds.
Dust covers for any unused pods.
A bottle of nutrient solution for the water (plant food)
A roll of support line that can be tied to hooks on the lid.
A pair of plastic tweezers to help handling & setting the seeds.
There is a float level sensor in the base that a) ensures there’s liquid in so the pump can run & also turns off the lights if too low.
    There’s a timer for 4 / 8 / 12 or 16Hr operation.
Power comes from a 24V 1.5A mains transformer adapter UK plug with a cable length of approx 1.5m
Power usage is LED and a small pump so will be relatively low.
It’s bigger than I originally thought but not massive.
There are 3 lighting options that can be cycled between what the system calls vegetable mode, herb mode and finally flower/fruit mode.
I think it’s a reasonable price for what it does if you fancy a small indoor garden and have little outside space or simply want to set some plants / herbs off early.
Really need to give this a few months to see what it’s really like but has plenty features to get started with.
Seeds etc are not included but I’m sure the type of seeds you try will also be a factor – some will work better than others – but that’s the same in an outside garden too.

Indoor garden with 3 light modes & programmeable water pump.

This is going to be brilliant for getting a head start on my crops. Very easy to assemble and come with tiny cloches, soil substitute and nutrient.
I’m not so keen on the growing medium it’s supplied with, but it will take whatever your preference is.

This is a good device. There are some caveats though. I don’t think there’s much difference between the diff cycles and support for the app is unresponsive when contacted. It’s early days, but looks like it’s working. Fairly easy to connect to the app and yhe pump is quiet. I will update the review once I have actual plants.

This has only just been delivered so I haven’t seen the plants grow yet but…. Compared to my 2 year old aerogarden this is much bigger with brighter led lights, it’s much taller and comes with little hooks to attach twine to support the plants, came with everything except seeds. The app is great and allows me to control everything without messing with the buttons. So far so good. I can’t wait for the next model with the auto nutrients and water level.
    And I just bought a second one….

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI have to admit that I’m a beyond rubbish gardener, but want to get the kids into gardening so this was the most perfect item to come across- it’s gone down so well in our house.

We’ve decided to start easy (we hope) and have gone with planting different herbs in this that we can use when cooking. The set comes with absolutely everything you could need and set up is, surprisingly, very clear/easy.

I’m leaving the kids in charge of this and so far it seems a really great project for them to get involved with. We probably spent more time trying out the different bits and bobs then the actual planting- it truly is a smart device that has thought of everything.

I imagine this would be perfect for people who either have a small garden or live in an apartment/flat as you still get to garden from the comfort of your own home. Equally it requires far less work than gardening. We’re hoping to try out flowers after we finish with the herbs.

Surprisingly has plenty of space for everything, considering the device itself doesn’t take up loads of room.

I’ve had a quick google search for price comparisons and this seems on par with other similar options.

Overall we’ve been thrilled and would be happy to recommend.

This machine helps to grow plants, herbs and fruit in your own home.

I have always been interested in gardening but I have never been any good at it. I always struggle so I wanted to give this a try.

The machine has 12 pods you you can grow multiple of the same thing or even try to grow different plants.

There is a display screen on the front that shows you information about the plants. The kit comes with everything you need besides the seeds as that is your choice.

The machine doesn’t take up to much room and it has given our family a new hobby. We can’t wait to see what we can grow with this machines help.

    Interesting machine
