Great bit of kit.
I was well impressed when I tried these out. I thought these would be another piece of expensive plyers from Knipex. When I tried these out, I was well impressed. Stripping cable, cutting it and general use of this item was such ease, I would buy another pair of these as they are quality that’s to be expected from Knipex but they are good. Bit wired to use because I normally use side cutters but I would deffently recommend these and I would be buying another just in case I loose the one pair I have.
A pro tool
A professional tool. Quality is top notch as it is expected from Knipex.
BRILLIANT!
Wasn’t sure about these new style Knipex pliers/cutters but they’re great. Didn’t take long to get used to them. Carry them in my pocket with a couple of screwdrivers all of the time. I wouldn’t say that they replace normal cutters and pliers all of the time though but they have a definite place in my tool kit.
Awesome
Excellent tool. I’ve owned these 6 months. I do really like these. They are that one tool that you need for wiring. Only complaint is the shears aren’t razor sharp. However they are very good at cutting cable. really sweet and the strippers are first class . no knicks or chatter on the Cu.
The crimps are limited to fine work and would be better with a screws cropper like the USA model. But overall excellent tool.
Buy it!!!
One of the best tools you’ll ever buy! Just try it and you’ll know its good!
You need these!
Unbelievable quality and so handy. Now that I have one I couldn’t be without it. I got one for every bag, VDE and the blue and red comfort grip. Can’t recommend highly enough
Quality product.
Started a new job, and these were advised by others.
So glad I took their advice. Quality product and easy to use.
Let’s be clear: there are plenty of cheaper tools that are similar. But the differences are what make the difference, here. I buy lots of tools. I do a lot of electrical work in my professional and home life. And I wish I’d bought these (expensive) pliers years ago! Why? Firstly, they’re sharp. Really, really sharp: which makes cutting insulation and wire absolutely fine. For context, I’ve cut through 16mm2 cable with ease. Disturbing ease! It makes such light work of insulation that it turns an otherwise fiddly job into one which is a delight.
This isn’t a “perfect” tool, though: perhaps just the way I use it, but if you’re not careful you could catch a flap of skin – so be careful! But other than that one incredibly minor ‘flaw’ (unfair to call it that), then it’s worth every penny.
Feels sturdy, I’m sure time will tell.
I’m not sponsored by Knipex.
Amazing bit of kit worth every penny
Saves alot of time and a must for a electrician, knipex are the best pliers by a landslide.
KNIPEX Pliers for Electrical Installation 1000V-insulated (200 mm)
Amazing set of pliers, best piece of kit I have ever bough
Really good piece of ki
A really versatile tool. Great for lightweight wiring jobs and safe on higher voltage work
Very pleased with the quality
5.0 out of 5 stars Another great tool from the KNIPEX range
Great tool, great quality. Wouldn’t expect anything else from KNIPEX.
Good quality
Bought these for my boyfriend and he loves them. Very good quality although a little expensive for what they are.
Excellent tool
Almost the only tool I use for first and second fix T&E. Shears and strippers are excellent, and the pliers are very useful. Can be tricky to use the shears to remove deeply stripped sheath in shallow backboxes / patresses but it can be done, and this one-tool-for-all gets used all the time, every day.
Quality and Sturdiness at a decent price
Bought my first pair this week.
They are such a useful and dynamic tool, with a lovely quality feel about them.
5.0 out of 5 stars Well made
Very convenient , save a lot of weight carrying various tools
Becoming tool of choice
Initially I did not like these as they seemed bulky and unwieldy with the two plier ends before the cutters. After a short time of using they have become tool of choice, only needing to carry one tool a bonus. Cutters are sharp.
Usual kniplex industrial quality. I am retired and only use these for DIY, but they are mean. Super sharp cable cutter upto 16mm strips flat and earth ends in 1mm to 2.5mm a try multitool. Grips cables without damage to pull them into a box. The nose is a bit squared off and is good for cleaning out plastic knockouts. Feels nice for balance and grip. 4 stars because of the price
5.0 out of 5 stars Quality produc
Fantastic product, lovely feel, and cuts and strip with ease
5.0 out of 5 stars Well worth the money
A must have great tool for any electrician. Cuts through tails like butter! Don’t be fooled by cheaper versions.
Wouldn’t buy for domestic electrical work
Not suitable for a domestic electrician as difficult and slow to strip Twin and earth cable but good product overall
Work in the bms industry. Great piece of kit to have around. Couldn’t recommend more to have in you pocket at all times to do this small odd jobs that would require 4/5 different tools to complete. Yes individual tools would likely work better but as a all rounder for an on-the-go bms spark I think they are brillia
Great pliers
I do a lot of shower rewires and this cuts through 10mm LSF like butter. Only downside I’ve found is trying to cut the outer sheath of twin and earth in boxes can be tricky with the length of them. But other than that they’re grea
The pliers are very well made 50 is a lot for pliers but the multifunction ones really speed up installation. Especially if your doing a large number of repetitive tasks such as fitting sockets. I have used then twice so far and I am impressed with the sharpness.
These are not spring loaded. You want Knipex code 13 96 200. Also on Amazon.
Update 9/02/19.
I have used the pliers in anger today and one thing thats apparent is that the cutters are located in the wrong spot for trimming off outer sheathing on twin and earth cable inside a back box as the plier tips hit the box walls. They are very sharp though. Impressed.
Good
This pliers are so amazing for instalation works my favorite tool since i bought but i recomend you buy the ones with spring instaled much easier to use becouse when need cut cable handles need open very wide so not comfortable with no spring in i
Quality pliers a little smaller than I thought.
If you like knipex,it’s the way to go. The stripper and shears work well draper version was worn out in less than 18 months (I had two and won’t be buying those again)knipex tools always lasted for me.
By comparison i prefer one with spring loaded mechanism because if you have loads of cables to strip then it is much better whe
Newest tool in my toolbox.
I bought one with spring loaded mechanism. And one without it.
By comparison i prefer one with spring loaded mechanism because if you have loads of cables to strip then it is much better when you have to press and not worry about release.
And if you are a person who installs control units, panels then it is must have tool. Cutting, cleaning, striping, crabbing the crimp and crimping with just one tool is awesome and makes things a lot faster. Apart from that you don’t have to carry lot of tools in your pockets.
Overall look and feel of the tool it is nice and handles are quite comfortable for 1000 V tool.
One thing i do not like it is slight movement between 2 parts when it comes out of the box. It is not nothing big but i would expect more from that brand.
Have used that about about one month now and it has already become the most used tool in my toolbox.
A fantastic tool which can replace several tools in the toolbox. VDE approved so also a “safe” tool. Maybe even a life saving tool.
This model doesn’t feature the latch of the ’96’ model though some of the product thumbnails show the latch. I also have the latch model, a little damaged through cutting a live cable, but hey that’s the value of the VDE handles. Occasional electricians or competent DIY’ers will probably find the non-latch model much more convenient because the opening can be controlled with a finger between the handles.
