The recharge time for Makita batteries is amazing. The shutdown load from a pair is not equal.
The recharge time for Makita batteries is amazing. The remaining capacity of a pair is not equal, one can have 2 lights out of 4 remaining, the latter none out of 4. Competing brands/products seem to have a similar mismatch problem.
Different batteries need a separate charge
I dislike having to buy different chargers for different batteries ?
I’ve tried the rest…..Just stick to the best!
I don’t like the price, but I’ve tried at least 2 different (5A) versions of the fakes and after a relatively short time they won’t charge, whereas my two original (5 year veterans) are still going strong
Probably not Genuine
So there’s a 4-LED battery level indicator at the bottom of each. I have checked that a genuine one shows battery level & all 4 come on, when fully charged, but the lights on these have never come on and they still don’t.
Powered a Makita Hedge Trimmer with ease
It was a judgment call to order a Makita Hedge Trimmer as the batteries are shockingly expensive, as is the battery charger. But first cut and I think it was worth it. The batteries unleashed a lot of power and stayed that way for quite some time.

Very good battery life, used 1 all day in my grinder, when usually would use 2 or 3 batteries and all week long in my impact.
Good battery life
Bought a pair of these to use with the Makita rechargeable chain saw. 50 minutes of battery use is adequate when just lopping off a few branches.
It doesn’t take too long to recharge them.

Only Buy Genuine Makita. I have bought a number of non-Makita clones or fakes and none work as well as the genuine article. These are expensive but superb.

They arrived a day early so that was great, they are genuine makita Batteries 5ah 2 number and fit all my tools so I am happy and satisfied.
These 5.0Ah batteries are a perfect balance between capacity and size/weight. Worth noting that I bought mine directly from Amazon, not from a marketplace seller – I did buy two from the latter, but they turned out to be fakes. No such trouble with these Amazon-supplied batteries. Recommended.

Bought lookalike they broke 3 months. I still have a genuine makita 3 amp 5 years old still going. Pay for what you get hence I purchased these hopefully same quality and longevity as old one. Worth the extra money

Although these batteries come in a unbranded box, I can confirm they are Genuine makita 5ah batteries, and work perfect. I’ve really worked them over the last few days and they’ve not skipped a beat.
I purchased these as a gift for my dad, they are heavy but very long lasting for his Makita tools.
He is a trades person so likes quality products and was very happy with the gif

Great batteries, shame about the price but you get what you pay for. I’ve been using them with the circular saw mostly cutting 18mm ply and they last between breaks. So I’ve been really impressed so far, had them for about a month so it’s still early days
Excellent life on them and reassuring to have the test button on the back to know roughly how much charge they have in them before you start a job. Iv not timed them but they do seem to take longer to fill than lesser amp hour ones. But they run longer and that test button is an excellent addition.
