I didn’t even think you could buy personal CD players anymore, with the massive adoption of Bluetooth audio from phones. However, this one seems just fine and the sound quality is very acceptable, if a touch bass focussed.

Regretting my choice of the clear one as it’s very hard to see the button functions and after 5 mins the novelty of it being clear wears off.

Couldn’t get the bluetooth to work so used the cable to my Sennheiser bluetooth headphones and it sounded fine, even the supplied super basic buds were fine really.

Bounced it about a bit and it didn’t skip. I think it buffers to internal memory and plays from there as the CD stops spinning from time to time, conserving battery life.

50 feels a touch pricey from an unknown brand but the unit itself seems like good quality. Recommended.

It’s absolutely brilliant! Got this as a gift for my boyfriend as he loves collecting CD’s. It’s brilliant, but he says there’s a tiny ticking sound when nothing is playing but the CD is spinning. Not sure if it’s to do with the CD player itself or his bluetooth headphones? It’s not his CD’s because they’re brand new!! But otherwise he absolutely loves it <3

Nowadays not even the newest cars come with a cd player and that annoys me a little because I’m a lover of my old cds, this is a great option to put in speakers or in the car so I can continue listening to my cds. very simple to use!

    Great choice

I’m of that generation that still buys and uses cd’s, so this is a great product and takes me back to my youth! This looks good and is easy to use, although it does come with an instruction manual if required. There is a pair of corded headphones plus a usb cable for charging and also a lead to attach it to a speaker. I used it in connection with my Bluetooth speaker and it sounded great. Would recommend.

I received this CD player for free as part of the Amazon Vine Programme.

This is so much fun! I love music but in the age of streaming my CD’s have become a little bit redundant. It was so nice getting to rediscover them again and use them all! This player was easy to set up and has a great sound! I love that I can connect my Bluetooth headphones to them too!

    ice old-school CD player.
the build quality of this specific CD player is adequate and in places superior to its predecessors from the past 🙂
this can be a great surprise present if you ever hit the wall and want to gift a present from a recent past, then this is one of them, for sure.

We have a vast collection of music and audio book CDs and no machine on which to play them, so this neat and attractive portable player was just what we needed.

We are impressed. It is easy to set up, taking only a couple of hours to fully charge via the provided cable.

The sound quality from the earbuds with the player was good but when tuned into Bluetooth headphones it was even better.

The instruction booklet is clear and easy to follow and pairing with the Bluetooth headphones was simplicity itself.

The player is light, yet robustly constructed, in a pleasing shade of blue. It comes with aux cable, charging cable, remote control and headphones.

It produced good quality sound with no glitches from a number of oldish CDs, instrumemental, vocal and orchestral.

Highly recommendable and a bargain at the current 49.95.

    Easy operation, good quality sound

I got this because I have a huge CD collection…..and after 2 years of owning a PS5, I found out it cannot play any of them (haha…doh!). I was sorting through my CD’s and thought I’d play one – and couldn’t! So when I saw this, I thought perfect! It looks cool, I love transparent cases on electronics. Sound quality is decent, considering the price point, it’s very good in fact. I tried it as a portable unit with the included headphones too, and found the headphones to be very good quality too. It’s easy to use. I’m very happy with this, and can recommend it for sure!

    I love the see-through look!

I had a cd player many years ago and had forgotten just how brilliant it was. This one is even better because it had a built in rechargeable battery, so no electrical connection required when in use.
Very simple to operate with minimal controls explained in the small manual enclosed.
Sound reproduction is good either through the ear phones or through a separate speaker.
I’ve recently inherited a cd collection so am looking forward to enjoying the music with my new cd player.
    Thank you

This is bringing a bit of retro memories back.

This came well packaged and has a lovely smooth blue finish to it. It is small and light enough to carry around in your hands or bag.

Really like the fact you can connect to Bluetooth. My car doesn’t have a cd player which is a shame as I have lots of old ones and by connecting to Bluetooth I can now listen to them

    Overall very happy.

I like that this CD payer is portable and can be used with modern Bluetooth functions as well as regular Cd discs. This has opened up a new word to me, As i am now able to listen to all the CD’s i packed away since i had nothing to play it on. The Bluetooth has no issues with disconnections, And the CD player is table and does not skip or scratch when moving.

The only negative i could find is that recharging takes quite awhile before it’s ready to use again, But that could be due to the low energy output of my sockets. I have really enjoyed listening to my music again and would recommend it.

    So far, So good.

Unboxing and getting started took no time and was hassle free. Put an old Tom Robinson cd and the sound, using the wired headphones provided, was clear and distortion free.
You can switch between playback effects, e.g. jazz, classical etc, which adjusts bass and treble and so on.
You can also connect to external speakers through wired connection or Bluetooth. You can connect to Bluetooth headphones in the same way.
For those like myself with redundant cd collection this is an enjoyable and fun piece of retro tech kitsch.

I don’t do streaming as my internet connection is very slow out in the sticks.
I do have a large collection of CDs though.

I also have a car with a CD player which does not read MP3 CDs, and a bluetooth adapter. I’m hoping to bring a little MP3 goodness to me car with this.

The unit is very nicely styled, hardly any bigger round than a CD. It has controls spread over the front and edges. In hindsight I would have gone for a solid colour over the clear version as, although it does look cool, it is hard to make out the various buttons.

The player contains it’s own battery and can be charged via a micro USB port. Would much rather have seen a USB C port here. Much more convenient for portable devices.
I also find the open slider a bit fiddly to find and use.

One other odd thing given it is a portable CD player is the lack of any provision to add a carry strap, belt clip etc. However it does have rubber fit to sit flat on a surface.. odd in my opinion.

That said it plays well, and the sound quality is good. Obviously if you play through a speaker that will enhance or make the sound worse.

As purely a portable player though it is great.
A special mention needs to be made for including instructions which are actually quite good.

One of my reasons for choosing this player is that it’s developed by a British company based in Cambridge. I liked the company credentials and they seem confident of their products as they offer a three year warranty if you register the player online.

It’s beautifully presented in quality packaging and the player is really elegant. The controls are easy to use and the sound is perfect. I’m about to change my vehicle and the replacement doesn’t have a built in CD player. I have playlists but I also have a number of cds that I burned years ago with tracks that aren’t available in the UK. This little unit will resolve the lack of CD player issue; I can connect the unit by Bluetooth to the car speakers and it plays perfectly. It can also be charged in car via the usb hub, so I’m absolutely thrilled.

The build quality is outstanding, the sound quality is excellent and it’s a very neat and tactile unit. Even supplied with headphones and they’re not bad! This player is tops all round and I’ve no hesitation in recommending it.

I remember the days when these portable CD players replaced the tape recorder, But the problem is the skipping was awful. My husband said that there’s no way that this newer model would not skip like the others, But i reassured him that tech had come along way, And it was possible that those issues were now fixed.

Well after myself and hubby both tried jogging on the spot, Waving it around and doing our best to make it skip, It worked like a charm with NO skipping whatsoever and a pretty decent sound with good bass. I was very pleased with it, And hubby had to eat his words, But he was also very happy with this player. It’s great quality and plays smoothly even when running around. Ideal for adults and kids as it can handle a lot of stress.

I have a huge collection of CDs which rarely see daylight these days. Everything is streamed now but, I did have a hankering to get the old collection out and start going through them. However, I wanted a CD player that could connect to a Bluetooth speaker and hence the Oakcastle CD100 caught my eye.

I went for the clear version, which in retrospect was probably not a good idea as it makes the controls difficult to see. But I can live with it.

The player is rechargeable so no need to have it plugged into anything. It came almost fully charged but it only takes around 3 hours to charge from flat to full. And you can use it whilst charging.

The unit comes with a micro USB charge lead ( I really wish they had gone with USB C), a 3.5mm to 3.5mm line-out lead, and a set of wired earbuds with volume control. I didn’t bother with these and just connected via Bluetooth to my Echo 5 speaker. This was really easy to do and the instructions for that are in the included manual. There is no remote control but as you don’t need to be tethered to a power supply you can keep the unit next to you.

The sound quality is great and so far the unit has worked faultlessly. Oh, it does play MP3 cd’s too by the way. So if you are into a bit of retro audio, you really can’t go wrong with the Oakcastle CD100.

This is definitely a must for those who enjoy playing their music in retro style. I fell in love the moment I saw this clear cd player. I’m sure I desperately wanted something similar in the 90’s!

As much as I love this, I ordered it for my daughter. She’s been wanting a portable cd player since her birthday, when she was gifted a number of Wrong Direction CDs *ppffftt*. We don’t all appreciate having to share in her music tastes, so now thankfully, she’s able to keep them to herself.

The player comes with a USB charging cable, an AUX cable, and headphones ( with inline controls ). My daughter paired up her wireless headphones without any problems, although she also loves the wired pair of earbuds included with the player.

The sound is pretty good and I’m quite impressed with how good the quality is. We haven’t tried it through speakers, as I don’t think I can bear to listen to my daughters cd collection anymore. As far as playing music through headphones goes though, it’s fantastic.

The player charges in around a couple of hours, displaying a red light whilst changing and provides up to 12 hours of play. There’s a nice backlit panel displaying track number and length of track. The buttons at the front allow you to play, pause and skip tracks plus you can shuffle and repeat tracks as desired.

The player itself is nice and sturdy and looks pretty awesome. The front opens easily by sliding a button located at the side of the player, and closes securely after inserting a cd.

It’s a fabulous little player all round – my daughter is thrilled with it. The transparent design is definitely one for retro fans!

    Retro style portable CD playe

I received this Bluetooth CD Player from Amazon Vine Program, item arrived on time. This is classic, stylish, compact and well made Bluetooth CD player. I can confirm that it works flawlessly, without any issues. I easily connected it to my Bluetooth Speaker (Amazon Echo Plus) to do that, just press down the mode button for awhile until you see Bluetooth logo, and try to find out CD Player (Bluetooth name) and connect.

This transparent (clear) design is so cool. Item comes with aux cable, micro usb charger cable, earphones and headset control unit. If you register your product a the manufacturer’s web page, your device warranty will be activated 3 years. You can find a qr code on user manual to register this product. A few of big companies offer 3 and more years of warranty because they are behind their products. I am thinking of it would be great if the micro usb port would was type C port. Exactly it’s not important point when you compare the existing specs of the system. When you take into account all, you will get a decent sound quality

    Overall,
I am extremely impressed with the quality and performance of the Bluetooth CD player.

    Thank you very much.

Perfect design, premium quality and performance.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI had a great time with this. It’s not particularly sturdy looking, if I’m being super honest, it looks a bit cheap and from the year 2000.. but I think that’s the point. Who buys a CD player in 2022?? Im guessing people who are tapping into that retro experience.

And although this plastic player looks a little flimsy, it’s quite tough. I gave this a hell of a shake and it did not skip/jump or drop a beat!

The Bluetooth transmitter is very handy to connect to your speaker system. I went through my Samsung Tv and from there onto my Sonos speakers. It was pretty straightforward.

(Watch the video) Apologies if you’re not an Eagles fan. I wanted to demonstrate the surprisingly stable nature of this little player. You can see in the video I shook the heck out of the player. Very impressed with that.

It’s arguably a niche market, selling a CD player in 2022 but I had a blast (from the past) playing with this and I’m heading into the loft to grab some CDs
