I bought this as a surprise Christmas present for my wife. One feature that I knew she would want is the ability to select individual tracks at will. I hunted high and low and eventually found this unit. Lovely styling, excellent sound quality and now wall-mounted. The result – one very happy wife! It doesn’t get better than that.

I’m pleased with my Oakcastle CD player. I just wanted a CD player to play music in the house. This is perfect for me as I like to have some background music. It is slim and unobtrusive. I didn’t want to spend lots of money on a more sophisticated system. So if you want a simple CD player that is inexpensive this CD player is perfect.

4.0 out of 5 stars CD player.

I bought the item to replace one that was no longer working. The player was well packaged, arrived on time and was easy to fix to the wall. The sound quality is excellent and the product well made.

My new Oakcastle HiFi100 music player arrived yesterday from Amazon and on first impression it looked like a quality piece of modern audio equipment. I unboxed it from the sturdy packaging and I found the power adaptor, the remote and the instructions plus the music player. I set it up on my mantlepiece and turned it on. As it was asking me to pair something, I paired my phone with ease and I started to play some tunes, and the first thing I noticed was the quality sound which impressed me. Next I found a few of my mp3 discs and I started to listen to these and I found the file system easy to navigate and the quality of the sound was brilliant. I found myself listening to track after track and hearing these with what felt like fresh ears. I heard the music with a quality that I had never heard before. I heard all the instruments as clear and crisp as the musician intended and I sat enthralled by what I was hearing. I listened to CD after CD and after about three hours I decided to get up and do something else. The FM radio works just fine as long as the aerial is up and can get good signals but it’s the CD player with its 40 watt sound that I’ll be using mainly because of it’s quality sound. The radio has 20 presets which are easy to load and use, but in my region there probably isn’t 20 good FM stations. The Oakcastle CD radio also has a 3.5 mm auxiliary input at the rear for connection by other music players. The remote control is a quality handset and it can control everything that the music player does. For those who use it as a bedside radio / CD player there is a sleep function which will turn the music off after a designated time plus it has an alarm function with a snooze function. The sleep and alarm are operated by the remote only, but that’s what I would use instead of reaching out to the machine. Another good thing about this quality music player is that it can be mounted on a wall due to its slim profile and I’ll probably mount it somewhere. I suspect that Cambridge Audio have played their part in this brilliant sounding music player and I get the impression that my Oakcastle HiFi100 slim CD music system will keep me entertained for a long time to come.

A Top Quality CD player & Radio.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI received this compact music system a couple of days ago. I am so delighted with it. Obviously sound was of most importance to me and I had to go by previous reviews. I can attest that the sound quality is excellent for such a streamlined Hifi CD system. I have a larger Sony system which has quality sound and this Oakcastle competes well with it. I have not wall mounted it but that is a plus for small spaces. It is an aesthetically pleasing product. I found it very easy to set up, and the remote is well laid out. Pairing to my phone (Android) was simple. I would like to do the same for my wireless headphones, but I do not think that is possible. There are only 5 presets but they are more than sufficient for most needs. The X-Bass is more subtle that some may want. I have found I do not need to use it. All told great product and good value for money.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersI had been looking for a compact hi fi system that would ideally suit my home office. The Oakcastle Hifi 100 just suited this requirement it will fit easily on a shelf in my crowded office and with the remote control supplied I rarely have to get up from my desk to work it.
I think we all have many CDs in our collections that have rarely been played due to the hi fi system being in the lounge and the easy option of simply streaming our music. It comes as a pleasant surprise to realise the fantastic audio quality of the CD that we have sometimes been missing. This unit also plays all formats of the CD system CD-R and CD-RW are all catered for. The audio quality of this compact system is superb. 40 watts being perfectly adequate and powerful enough for all tastes. I particularly like the vertical loading of the CD mechanism with the soft close door securing the disc whilst playing.
The remote control is compact and easy to use featuring the standard control icons that we are all used to these days. It also comes complete with batteries, (not all systems do)
The unit also come with Bluetooth capabilities so I can play my other devices through the unit at any time. It is also compatible with CD MP3 an Aux functions.
I also like the weight of this unit and its slim design that enables its easy movement around the house with just one cable to connect to start the system without having to move heavy boxes around.
The LCD display is very clear and straight forward and is easily viewable from a distance when using the remote control. The clock feature is handy too, complete with an alarm function that is very handy. The FM radio works well, it comes with the wire aerial cable to enhance reception in all areas. A small portion of Blue Tack is all I need to secure the end to any available surface for maximum clear FM reception the station pre-sets are very useful if like me you have your favourite stations that you listen to every day.
Another two handy features are available the sleep and snooze options, some of us are quite familiar with these features as we use them quite often on our phones to start and complete our busy days, these are both activated by the remote control pad. I was also reassured that the unit comes with a full 12 month warranty extendable by another 24 months warranty free of charge again not very often offered these days. A support team is also on hand for giving help and advice on the system simply by contacting the web site. [email protected]
As mentioned the sound quality on this system is superb, there are a couple of extra features that deserve a mention, the four EQ modes that are selectable to suit the style of music you prefer and the X-Bass feature to give that extra enhancement to the bass sounds. Both of these functions are available only on the remote control pad giving you even more time in your favourite seat in the lounge or office or anywhere there is a plug in your home.
Finally a note on the instruction guide let’s face it most of these consist of lots of pages and are heavy going particularly when you are racing to open the parcel and get started. This one is concise and easy to understand and you will be making some sounds within a few minutes of opening the box.
So to sum up this is a very desirable Hi Fi system that is great value for money, slim, compact powerful and feature laden that will please all ages and needs. That is easy to use and enjoy and comes with a peace of mind warranty that will appeal to all.

    great value
