Nice quality, pace is good, markings are useful. Grey a nice option for where it lives, less offensive to non-golfers!
The putt-out ‘hole’ works well for feedback.
More fun to use than I thought it might be. Someone else said about it giving false confidence but I think it’s really useful for it to be straight and good roll etc, helps you identify your usual ‘miss’ without being able to blame other factors.
Feels will inevitably help holing out if can drill with this regularly. Try different grips, ball position etc without having other factors interfering.
Use this in my hallway on a hard floor type so don’t know how it performs if rolled on carpet. Top tipdon’t fold it up for a week at a time like I did, roll it up and use the packaging it come with.
Negatives:
The mat is flat so doesn’t help you in reading any breaks/borrow on a green
Positives:
Good quality, ball rolls true
Improved my putting stroke
Improved my alignment and weight
Improved my confidence
Definitely has reduced the number of 3 putts I make on the course, which directly translates to a lower score – Whats not to like 🙂
Glad I bought and would recommend
Great quality putting mat with a true and consistent roll.
Would have been 5 stars but seems a little expensive for what it is.
Solid and robust. Stays flat and does not slip. All needed to mimic the putting experince.
I can see my putting skills sharpen up as I use this great aid.
I use this for practice indoors (not tried it outside). It comes in a bag and is easy to roll up and store but I leave it out most of the time and have the occasional practice as I’m walking past it and the mood takes me. The mat lays flat without sliding about or curling at the corners and it seems well made and robust, but it’s very smooth and flat and of course it isn’t like playing on a real putting green – I never play that well in a real game!
Does what is is supposed to do. Help you improve you’re putting. Dont buy the 40 mirror, lots cheaper and just as good on Amazon.
Good practice for short, medium distance putts and for checking alignment and putting stroke
Great putting mat. Hopefully all my practice during lockdown will make me a great putter when back on the course.
Nice feel to a fast green and bumps and lumps of carpet floor come thru so putts are not just straight lines 😉
having already through the catcher this was a great addition, really good quality matt, packs away easily and nice simple variation of length and control drills that you can work with.
As a single figure handicap player who has often struggled with putting and having tried all sorts of different types of aids, this is the only one that has worked.
I recommend this aid to any golfer who genuinely wishes to improve their putting skill in spite of the price.
I liked the colours of the Blk/Blu matt, made it futuristic or game-like. It would be cool if the blue was luminescent and you could play at night!
A decent size (eventually, you should be 1-putting everything 6ft!). It is easy to use and hard wearing underneath.
For a gift I would get the traditional green.
Good quality PuttOut Matt however it is quite expensive for what it is
This is permanently in use our house in conjunction with the puttout mirror trainer and the puttout pressure putt trainer.
It comes with a thick cardboard tube for storage but it’s not been out away once and appears to be a permanent fixture in our house!
The mat is very thick and quite heavy so stays very flat.
Smelt quite a lot of rubber/plastic/solvent when first purchased.
Bought as a gift late last year with the recipient dropping from a 12 to a 9 handicap since buying… maybe not all to do with these training aids but they’ve certainly helped.
Excellent for putting practice. The paper cover does give you lots of ideas on games to help practice. Easy to roll up and put back in its carry bag to keep the other half happy.
Really high quality and smooth roll out mat. It’s also surprisingly easy to get back into its travel bag and store away neatly. Bought alongside the puttout itself. Helped with a consistent putting stroke.
Bought this mat to go with the PuttOUT pressure putt training aid. Also purchased the PuttOUT putting mirror. The mat is good quality and gives you plenty of practice options.
If you are looking for a putting mat, this is the one that you need. When combined with the pressure trainer, I cannot see how you can beat this for price and performance. This has definitely improved my putting and I actually enjoy the process. Too often in the past with indoor mats, it felt like a waste of time, that is not the case with this.
A putting stroke is a funny thing. If the putting surface is very pure (think PGA tour level) then you can have a questionable putting stroke and still make a lot of putts. Why? Very short grass (I.e. fast on the stimpmeter) and perfectly rolled means there is little grain or abnormalities on the surface. So a ball that hit with a slight sidespin will still go pretty straight. This Puttout mat is a bit like that. You can get away with a poor stroke and still make nearly every putt. I can make a 100 in a row to my artificial cup at about 7 foot. Now, on a normal golf club green the grass is longer and the surface is not nearly as pure. A purely struck putt where the ball goes end over end will have a good chance of going in on a 7 foot straight putt but any deviation from that and the long grass grabs the spinning ball and rips it sometimes nearly a foot away from the hole even when the putt was only 7 foot. Because the Puttout mat does not tell you if your stroke is flawed and actually gives you great results even for poor putts I cannot give it 5 stars. I would prefer a mat that has a bit of grain and that more closely resembles the typical greens we experience as amateurs. This is probably pretty hard to make to be fair but trust me, the pros would struggle on most normal greens that are slow and wobbly. If you want to feel what it is like to putt on pure greens like the PGA tour then the Puttout mat is great for that but don’t be fooled. Your stroke may be worse than you think and you find out pretty quick when you hit real world golf courses in the UK in middle of a long winter!
Putting mat is very useful and helpful when wanting to build up your confidence around the putting green. Guide markings on mat help you focus on your game which you store in your memory bank and take out on the course next time you play.
Great for sorting out my alignment issues!
Also really good for practicing those putts up to six foot…really glad I bought this and has taken 2 shots off my handicap…9 to 7…
I received the mat within a few days. It’s a gift so I haven’t opened it out but I can see through the plastic and it definitely is a quality mat. Going to have a happy man at Christmas! I did order the Puttout trainer as well but that is being sent separately.
Like it. It rolls out flat straight from the bag. If I had anything negative to say it would be that it would be nice to have the option to buy a longer mat. After hitting the same putt a few times it would be good to mix it up by hitting some longer putts.
Good speed to the putts, easy to use and the alignment lines help if you are struggling with your alignment and stroke.
Really has improved the aggressiveness of my putting. It may seem a tedious exercise but knocking 50balls into the putt out cup twice a week will really help you on the real dancefloo
Brilliant mat to help improve your putting on the course.Yes there is cheaper mats about, but not to this quality your buying a top product. It will dramatically/hopefully cut your putting strokes down to have a Brilliant score…Rolls out flat all the time and really like the strong sturdy cylindrical tube it comes in and handy to put away when you are finished
This thing is great, way better than the cheap PGA Tour mat I had before that basically was like a piece of felt compared to this.
This mat is really plush, with braided edges. It runs great on flooring or even on top of a shaggy rug. It may be pricey but you get what you pay for.
After buying the output putting trainer for my partner then thinking about the fact I actually don’t have any carpet downstairs, I decided to buy this aswell the two go hand in hand not a bad word to say about it.
It’s packaged lovely in a bag you can put on over your shoulder and take it anywhere.
Was kind of expecting it to have bumps when layed out as it is rolled up when in bag and had seen reviews from other putting matts but not one bump when layed down.
It’s lovely and soft and doesn’t slide around the floor.
My partner loved it on Christmas day, it was straight out amongst all the wrapping paper. Great gift idea to get that perfect putt. My partner definitely needs some more practice after watching him. Haa
The mat comes in it’s own bag which was the first positive I noted for storage purposes. The weight is quite substantial, but this only reflects the quality – which is great. It’s a sturdy, hard-wearing rubber with a texture atop which resembles that of a golf course putting green. All markers too (marked in white) serve a productive purpose. Coupled with the PuttOut Pressure Putting Golf Trainer (which I bought separately) this really allows you to gain an edge in your game. A mat such as this is ideal, if your carpet at home is too thick – or indeed, if you don’t have carpet. All in all, you get what you pay for and the mat, even though a matt, is one of the best quality putting mats I’ve bought. The ball travels nicely along the surface and the experience, all in all, is satisfying. Recommended!
