I have had 2 of the Samsung T5 500GB drives for over 2 years now and they have been great.
Very reliable and had no problems reading on multiple devices and OS platforms.
Recently I purchased the newer T7500GB model which is little larger but is even quicker.
So far there have been no issues – so I have to assume that it is just as good.
I would recommend the Samsung as I have friends who have used other manufacturers products and had issues with compatibility across different systems and devices when you just need it to work!
Amazing that such a small devise has so much storage. I record music and our sound engineer recommended this for moving large music files around..
Does the job really well
The hard drive on my Mac was filling up, largely because of photos, so I bought this to free up some space and keep the photos stored externally. The first time I plugged the T7 into my Mac, I formatted to MAC OS extended journal. I then copied the photo library onto it and made this the system library. It works a treat and you wouldn’t know there was an external SSD in use. It’s smooth and fast. Using the correct format has improved functionality too, particularly iCloud back up and sharing photos, which were lost when using the pre-installed ex-fat format. Very highly recommended.
I the T7 as part of my iPhone 15 Pro Max SmallRig phone rig, as iOS allows you to record directly to an SSD. Combined with the Blackmagic Camera app, you have a fantastic means of content creation. No Airdrop required, just plug the SSD in and start editing.
Excellent, quick, and small hard drive when on the move.
The Samsung T7 is an excellent, quick, and small hard drive when on the move.
I shoot many photos in a day when out on shoots and need to back them up quickly on site via my Macbook. The T7 does this very well. Being so small it also packs into my camera bag taking up little space.
I’ve found the Samsung drives to be reliable and haven’t had a problem with the ones I own.
Top quality, sturdy and speedy
If you want a USB drive that feels well protected and can sit nicely in most small spaces without sliding (thanks to rubber exterior) then this model is just the job. Getting data on and off it is reasonably nippy, and it works well as a virtual server. I currently have one of these attached directly to the USB input of my FritzBox router, where it serves my large digital music collection wirelessly to my iPad which I use to send to my Sonos Amp. So far, it is flawless.
My old iMac is now blistering fast.
I purchased this drive to act as an external Hard Drive on my iMac which had become a bit ponderous to say the least. I decided to go down the external route it was easy and I am no nurd I am 88 years old and I did the whole thing in about 3 hours. My iMac is now faster than it was when new in 2013.
Can’t comment on reliability as I’ve not owned it for long enough, but for all the other reasons (size – both physical and storage, price), would highly recommend this device. Suddenly, I need to throw away all of those humming HDs!
Compact & Quick Storage
I use these for video stuff (amateur level editing)…. it runs a little hot when editing video clips together but I’m told this is normal. I’ve got three of them and they all do the same and all do the job well.
Great quality produc
I was pleasantly surprised when I saw that size as fits in my hand and has an impressive capacity. Fast, compact and comes with two cables. Looks smooth and sleek.
The bes
This is the best external hard drive I’ve used with incredible speeds, good case protection and it’s also amazingly lightweight. A 4TB SSD which runs from USB C power has been a game-changer for me. Definitely worth it and 200 on Black Friday made it even better.
It does what it is supposed to do.
I have used this as storage for a research project which requires it to hold millions of text files downloaded at at speeds. And it has done exactly what I wanted it to do. It is priced reasonably and is very small and easily portable. So far, so good.
Got a new Mac and needed a small but reliable SSD that was 100% compatible. This is one of the best on the market, sturdy ( really tough) and small and lightweight. Speed is good as I’m using it as second hard drive with different softwares installed. Not five stars only for the cable, could be longer and more flexible.
Obviously a brand name product, so you would expect something that works well.
This does.
Used as an external backup for an Apple computer: The first time it was plugged in “the system” saw it, the automatic on-screen instructions were crystal clear and easy to follow, and both the disk and computer “knew” this was to be used for backups.
Now it is on my desk, taking up no space, always plugged in, automatically taking backups.
The built in starting option to require a password to use the disk again made life so easy setting this up.
If I do need another of these, I will definitely be buying this again.
I bought this SSD during a prime day event so it represented amazing value for 4TB of SSD storage from a reputable brand. Like other Samsung T5/T7 drives it is impressive how small and slim these devices are. Using it with an Apple iMac M1 and USB-C, I get around 800MBs write speeds and 760MBs read speeds using a high speed USB-C cable and with the drive encrypted under APFS. Whilst that doesn’t compare to the built-in SSD of the Apple computer, it’s definitely an improvement over an external mechanical harddrive and of course completely silent. Very impressive for the price! The drive comes with a rather short high speed USB-C to USB-C cable and a USB-3 (A) to USB-C cable. You can of course use it on a PC, Mac, and it even works on my iPad and iPhone with USB-C.
I’m a video editor by trade so I rely on my drives, I have 4 of the T7’s and (touch wood) they’ve been amazing. I usually edit straight off the drive and they’re fast enough to keep up with me, which is impressive seeing as I’m often editing 4K video clips at about 4 or 5GB in size each. They’re absolutely tiny so don’t take up much desk space. A friend of mine does data recovery for a living and says Samsung are the brand he sees the least (ie they fail less than other brands). Great drives and worth the money – picked mine up in a Black Friday offer so keep an eye on deals. Pick up a case if you plan on leaving the house with them, the size means they’re not exactly rugged.
Got one of these as I was still using an old 1TB hardrive for the Macbook TimeMachine backups.
The speed on this is miles faster and I can get a full backup down within 45-60 minutes. That is of a 1TB machine btw, so really happy with the results.
love everything about it, its so small yet it holds so much media and although its not the fastest Samsung drive i really don’t think it matters it is absolutely rapid. i love i
The Samsung T7 Portable SSD in 1 TB is a true game-changer. This tiny powerhouse delivers lightning-fast data transfer speeds and the ultimate portability. This SSD works seamlessly with a wide range of devices, from PCs and Macs to gaming consoles and Android devices. The USB-C to USB-C and USB-C to USB-A cables included in the box mean you’re ready to connect to almost anything.
I love the sleek tiny form of this Samsung 2tb memory. It comes with a short and very chunky USB c to USB c cable which allows it to transfer data fast. I used my phone’s standard cable and the transfer rate was less than half the rate when using the proper cable.
Large files like mp4 and mkv are transfered in seconds. With the huge 2tb capacity I won’t be out of space for a while.
It’s a great device and I love it.
Many of you will be wondering if editing is doable on these. I can tell you that using internal drives with operating systems can be slow but have found creating video files on this hard drive perfect for my needs.
I save my editing and videos to the drive so I can plug into a number of machines and pick up where I left off (if set up right). Really useful and have found the compact size a great added bonus.
Just right for iPhone 15 Pro Max video
I bought the shield version as it offered good protection and was surprisingly cheaper than the non shield version. According to my iPhone this 1 Tb drive offers the following recording times:
4K @ 60 fps = 69 minutes
4K @ 30 fps = 139 minutes
4K @ 25 fps = 166 minutes
4K @ 24 fps = 173 minutes
It works perfectly and is very well made with good transfer rates as expected.
Fast transfer from a iMac with Thunderbolt 3
Fast transfer of data being backed up using the enclosed USB C to C cable and the Thunderbolt 3 socket
3/4 mins to transfer 256gb of music photos videos and documents
Runs hot but as it’s only on for 5 mins it’s fine.
Price varies widely on Amazon UK – I bought the bigger size in the US for 2/3rd of UK price for my M2 Mac Mini there.
It too runs hot but maybe faster to transfer 150gb back up.
I also bought a case for travelling.
Very Durable!
I have been using this as a backup drive for important files regularly now for quite a while. I’ve had no problems with it! Due to its external rubber coating it’s very durable. I have dropped it multiple times and have had no issues! It looks very smart and another bonus is that due to the rubber coating it doesn’t move about on my desk like ones of a similar size would due to their weight!
Technology moves on, doesn't it?
My old external backup HDD started making worrying noises so it was time to replace before it inevitably failed on the same day as my actual computer decided to have an issue. A tiny solid state (and therefore no moving parts) HDD which draws power via USB has twice the capacity of the legacy backup drive.
The Samsung Portable SSD T7 (MU-PC1T0T/WW) is hands down the best hard drive I have ever had the pleasure of using.
First and foremost, the speed of this SSD is mind-blowing. With read speeds of up to 1050 MB/s and write speeds of up to 1000 MB/s, it delivers lightning-fast data transfers and significantly reduces waiting time. It has revolutionized the way I work with large files and has made data backup a breeze.
The compact and sleek design is not only aesthetically pleasing but also incredibly portable. It fits comfortably in my pocket, making it the ideal companion for on-the-go professionals and creative individuals.
The build quality is exceptional, as expected from Samsung. It feels solid and durable, giving me confidence in its reliability for long-term use.
Compatibility with USB 3.2 Gen.2 ensures versatility and fast connections with various devices. Whether I’m working on my laptop, transferring files to my desktop, or even using it with my gaming console, the Samsung T7 performs flawlessly.
In summary, the Samsung Portable SSD T7 is a game-changer in the world of storage solutions. It’s the epitome of speed, portability, and reliability, making it an absolute must-have for anyone in need of high-performance storage. Without a doubt, a well-deserved 5-star rating for this exceptional hard drive!
Exactly what I needed
Very small and portable, plenty of storage, and my machine can read and write to it very rapidly with no frustrating delays. I can watch video files straight from this hard drive without any lagging. Exactly what I wanted. I might buy two.
Love this portable hard drive
I needed a high capacity external hard drive that was small enough to transport and light weight too.
This was a perfect choice and hasn’t let me down.
Read and Write speeds are fast. The item is small and lightweight which is great for travelling with if you need to backup large files out and about.
I would recommend this product.
Smashing storage device, running games of it perfectly.
Bought a PC with a rather small 180gb SSD in it. Bought this to actually install games, and they are all running like a charm. Comes with a USB-A to USB-C adapter so no worries there, installed GTA V on it straight out the box and couldn’t be happier.
Great product!!
I love this thing, tiny, lovely looking ( I have the red one and yes I know looks don’t matter with this type of product but it just looks great!). Normally I have an NVME drive in a separate USB 3 or TB enclosure and run it through TB as I have a Macstudio, but I also have Windows laptops that don’t have superspeed connections that I use the drives with so I thought this time I would give one of these a go. I also bought the little groovy case for protection. It’s still super small (did I mention that?) so not much more to it than one of the USBC NVME enclosures, feels a little sturdier and I get decent speeds. I know that the price of storage has fallen but as of this review on 14th Sept it’s 65.99 for the 1 TB, that’s madness compared to where we have been before and actually not that far removed from the price of making one yourself. Ok, so the downside compared to making one yourself is it seems to be so well made you can’t swap it out for another drive yourself. There may be a way but it doesn’t seem obvious to me, but that is the only downside. I imagine that’s for protection because it feels sturdy as heck, and literally fits in the palm of my hand. The question is if I had the same need would I buy one again or do as I usually do and put one together myself? Well unless you have TB speeds or 3.2×2 where you would feel the benefit from making a faster drive this would do you more than fine. It reached the advertised speeds, is super sturdy, super small, lovely looking and tactile with a marginal price difference between it and making one yourself with the same speed. So, unless you need to swap out the disks then go for it, If you do then think for a minute and decide if the many plus points outweigh the need. I have no regrets about buying this but then it is for a particular use case.
Great drive, great size, great value
I used this to breath life into an older iMac. I installed the Mac OS on this drive, and it’s transformed the Mac from an almost unusable machine to something that is a pleasure to use.
The fact that it came with both USB-A and USB-C was superb too.
So much better than expected
I was trying to decide which portable SSD to buy for my MacBook M1, and like I usually do I research things until I’m blue in the face. This is an amazing bit of kit, transfer speeds are very fast. I film a lot of 4k video and shoot 60mp raw files, so fast transfer speeds and reliability are my top criteria, and I wasn’t disappointed. Also liked the rubber casing, which is an added bonus for the extra bit of protection. Highly recommended and wouldn’t hesitate to buy again. Infact I’ll be ordering another for a back up. 10/10 Samsung.
Impressive!
Great speed, works with other C type cables if you are me and forget where you placed the original ones (make sure it’s at least one of the thicker kind of cables) and the original cables do have ridiculous transfer speed. It does get a bit warm when I send 50GB at once and it handles it very steadily and fast, so hey, it is a mini portable device, not a space rocket :)) Highly recommended!
I decided to recover some much needed space on my computer which meant transferring 260gb+ of photos, videos, music and random other files back into my daughter possession.
Her birthday was approaching, when I saw this on Amazon, and the price at the time was excellent.
This drive gets five stars all day long from me.
File transfer speed is rapid, item is very much pocket size and all in a really quite attractive anodized aluminium outer shell. It comes complete with C type to C type data cable, and I was more than happy to give it as a present.
And more to the point will be more than happy to buy again.
I already owned 1 of these, and it’s time to get a second. I literally just plug n play them into a spare USB slot, and keep them in there. They show up as a removable drive, but keep their letter, so I use them in cahoots with OBS to record my live stream in both 1440p and 4K.
Depending on my mood, I either upload the video file in 1, directly to the usual social places, or edit it, and upload that – the point being these drives are yet to let me down at all, and together with OBS, have yet to skip a beat (my settings are 16-24mbps on 1440, and 32-40mbps on 4K – both 60fps). Literally not 1 dropped frame in many hundreds of hours of content.
I can highly recommend them for anyone else too lazy to open up their computer case, and upgrade their internal drives (that’s my excuse anyway, due to all the rigmarole that it entails, with reformatting and reinstalling stuff..)
What’s also great, I can use one of these to very quickly transfer large video files to take on visits and showcase my work, and again, I use 2 of these, together with 1 older model, side by side, to give 3 high speed drives on the end of USB cables.
It obviously goes without saying to ensure your computer’s USB connectors are up to date and not ancient, or these things will not work very well, like with anything.

I recently went on a holiday to the Philippines and I used the Samsung T7 SSD to back up all of my GoPro and drone footage. I was really impressed with the performance of the SSD. It was able to transfer my footage quickly and easily, and it was also very durable. I was able to take the SSD with me on all of my adventures, and I never had to worry about it getting damaged.
The Samsung T7 SSD is a great choice for anyone who needs a reliable and portable way to store their data. It’s small and lightweight, so it’s easy to take with you wherever you go, and it’s fast enough to transfer large files quickly. I would definitely recommend the Samsung T7 SSD to anyone who is looking for a great way to back up their data.
Here are some of the pros and cons of the Samsung T7 SSD:
Pros:
Fast transfer speeds
Durable
Small and lightweight
Password-protected
Available in a variety of colors
Cons:
Can be expensive
Not water-resistant
Not shockproof
Overall, I am very happy with the Samsung T7 SSD. It is a great way to back up my data and it has performed flawlessly
I HAVE SEVERAL OF THESE FOR ALL MY VIDEOS AND PHOTOS NOT HAD A PROBLEM WITH ANY OF THEM TO DATE FAST TRANSFER WHEN MOVING FROM ONE TO ANOTHER
With most software now being optimised for SSD, this has filled a gap for me adding to normal hard disks I use externally.
Adding such easy access solid state storage to my Asus laptop has been a great boon to me. By contemporary standards 1TB of data is not a great deal, but this is more than compensated for by its speed.
Thoroughly satisfied with the drive – I may save up for another.
Own several of these. Have never let me down!
Super fast and great alternative to upgrading expensive internal Storage on laptops.
Used for photo and video storage to free up space on mobile phone.
Easy to use, lightweight Tec
Works perfectly with my MacBook as a time machine backup drive.
A bit slow to start transferring big folders but after that ok.easy to set up files and folders structure even if you have 5k of them ,Like i
Works Well with the PS5 Great Transfer Speeds From Internal To External and Vice Versa
Brilliant............
Having had to return a non-branded SSD because copied files were corrupted/unreadable I was nervous that the same would happen with this item. But my fears were utterly unfounded.
I could copy across at 55mb/s, which was about right for my ancient NAS drive. So 500gb of data went onto this Samsung T7 really quickly and without any problems – I’ve only dip tested about 20 of the several hundred mp4 files, but no issues identified.
It’s a very lightweight unit, about the size of a credit card – a couple of mm taller and thicker if you’re that worried about size.
Could not recommend more.
Good
There is only one disadavantage of using this ssd, Im not sure if it is my computers problem but if the ssd it too close to the computer it will interfere with the wifi connections, so just make sure you place the ssd a bit futher to your computer or laptop. Other than that, its all very good, very fast, it transfered a 15GB file in under a minute for me and its super lightweigh
Compact and lightweight, 1TB and the SSD really shows its speed especially if your pc has a usb-c po
This drive was recommended to me by a major manufacturer of professional audio equipment.
It is an excellent SSD drive. Plug and forget. It’s also incredibly small and compact so doesn’t take up lots of desk space. I liked it so much I immediately bought another (the cool colours also help you identify it when tucked away near the computer). Oh, and I managed to drop it with no ill effects so it’s pretty robust too (thank goodness).
Great, I bought it for the PS4 as a fast SSD. The ps4 only accepts 500 and bigger so this was best option for value for money. I haven’t run out of room and happy with it being easily hidden. This one is good for ps4 playing final fantasy 14 and other games that need fast response load times
Bought this to add some much-needed storage to my PS5. Works a treat.
My old iMac was becoming too slow to use, so purchased this to use as a replacement external HDD (used CarbonCopy to copy old hard drive to SDD first). The difference is incredible and it now runs like a brand model. Drive is silent, fast, stays cool and can easily be attached to the supporting leg of the iMac. Have since bought another for another old iMac.
using this as a external drive on my PC via a usb 2 port, its just dangling there, so light, small and fast. connect and forget, job done.
I bought this for the Mrs for Christmas to work with the Apple I-Pad air. Very impressed with the size and the capacity. Only one issue though. If you put a password on it, the I-Pad will not recognize it. When it arrived the instructions state you can add a password but this would need doing on an android device. No problem, but when you connect up to the I-Pad, it just sits there doing nothing. I eventually got round to thinking that I needed to remove the password and hey presto it works!
Let’s start with the negatives. It only goes up to 2TB and the price per TB is higher than other drives.
Having got that out of the way, my god it’s fast. Fast and stays fast. I had 5TB Segate USB 3 drive which I bought because it was quicker than my last solid state hard drive which lasted all of 38 seconds when connected to Mac Studio when it fried. Although the Segate was reliable the time it took for searches became a joke, as well as the time it took to save large files. Whereas the Mac would save at a blink of an eye, the Segate would generate the busy bar or pizza wheel. But this SAMSUNG T7 is as fast as the Mac solid state drive. There is absolutely no loss of speed. It sleeps instantly when task is finished at starts within a mili second. When I need more storage I will certainly buy another one.
Amazing SSD
I had the older T7 ( which I believe this is the same with extra protection).
Works great, nice rubber texture. It would definitely can take a good fall without damage.
Absolutely recommend this drive.
Perfect for our needs as it is very small as we live in van several months in a year and space it everything. Always use Samsung HD in past our old one is still going, but bought this as SSD are more reliable, better to buy now than wait till our old ones dies.
This 2TB external hard drive is small and compact, making it a great option for those who need a lot of storage but don’t have much space.
The read and write performance is impressive, with average speeds of 869 MB/s for writes and 881.40 MB/s for reads when connected via USB-C.
These speeds are much faster than my previous external hard drive, which uses older 2.5 hard disk technology. While I haven’t checked the exact speeds, I’m happy as long as the drive is able to quickly transfer my backup files from my MacBook and has enough space for them.
I bought this SSD to improve the usability of my Photos Library on my MacBook M1, and it works well with Apple M1 and M2 products. While it’s too early to tell how reliable the drive will be, I’m confident in its quality since it’s a Samsung product.
Samsung drive has won numerious yearly awards for performance, price and size.
One potential downside is that the drive doesn’t come with any protective cover or case, so you might want to consider buying a travel case if you plan to take it on the go.
Additionally, the software that Samsung provides with the drive isn’t very useful and isn’t supported on Macs, although it does work well on Windows.
Overall, this is a great external hard drive and I believe it’s worth the price I paid (just over 142 on Amazon during a promotion).
Small and compact. Looks nice in blue and the price paid good for a branded 500 GB SSD. Transfer speeds seem brilliant in comparison to my last external hard drive which is old technology 2.5 hard disk, however, I have not looked at the exact speeds as it really does not matter that much to me. What’s important to me is that is really quick to transfer back up files from my MacBook and that it has the space i need to do so. One star off for the pretty useless software that Samsung provide to use with this as its really pointless and that it does not come with any form of protective cover/case. For the price it should in my opinion, however, I am still pleased and purchased a protective case separately from Amazon.
Works as intended, neat little bundle with two cables supplied, pleasant soft grip touch to the SSD.
If you concidering buying a external hdd drive because of price and storage then i recommend you try this ssd storage device, it’s tiny, portable. rugged and superfast. It’s able to store all you movies, photos and play them directly off the drive just like the older hdd do but the new solid state drives has faster transfer speed and will last even longer because of no moving parts. This particular model and brand is top of the range and even though its more expensive cheap isn’t always good and good ain’t cheap. The Samsung T7 sheild is the best choice for an external drive.
Small and compact for a 2TB Drive, not sure if the price is worth (but that’s just me). I paid just over 140 after getting a 5 off promotion offer from Amazon.
My drive is almost full and the read and write performance is great. I’m getting on average 869 MB/s Write and 881.40 MB/s Read which is connected by USB-C.
I purchased the SSD as I wanted better usability for my Photos Library on my MacBook Pro, as I was running a 1.9TB Photos Library from a HDD …which was not really useable.
Time will tell on its reliability, but with it being Samsung branded I have very little concerns it will fail anytime soon…however I have it backed up just in case anything does goes wrong.
Four stars just because I’m not getting the speed they say I could get with this SSD drive on a Mac mini M1 but I’m still happy because for a backup drive works perfectly.
Fast speeds from 250MB/s to 350MB/s. For anyone who is unsure or has read comments about slow speeds, if the speed indicated is 30-35MB/s that is because the port in which the usb T7 shield is connected to is not a usb 3 port. In order to have maximum transfer speeds you must connect to a usb 3 port to utilize the technology of usb 3. You can connect the T7 shield to a usb 2 port and the transfer speed will be the normal speed of usb 2 which is 30-35 MB/s. If you are unsure of your port you can always use something like “USB Device Tree Viewer” that will tell you which port you have.
I’ve had the Samsung T7 (2Tb) for 2 years now. I love that it’s so small and lightweight, the dimension of a credit card but ~6x thicker. The data transfer is very fast. The touch security is not only great to have on the drive, but should should anyone try and use it / plug it in without the security, it appears to be empty. The downside, and the reason I’m writing this review so late, is that I’ve been having issues with what looking like battery acid crystallisation. Pictured here is the cable, my drive rack the drive has been sitting in, and the crystallisation. Great drive, but be sure your data is backed up elsewhere, too. Just in case.
I have this permanently hooked up to the back of my Desktop PC, and use it to run and store all my PC Games. I have played World of Warcraft, & Halo Infinite quite a lot from it, and use it for my main Steam Library. I have found it to be easily fast enough with hardly any load times.
If you do this, you need to go into “Device Manager” find the USB 3 Hub and under “Power Management” untick “Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power”. Also under “Power Options” in settings ” Change advanced power settings” set “USB settings” “USB selective suspend setting” to “Disabled”. I also in my High Performance plan set the Hard Disk setting to turn off after 0 mins = never.
Size, weight, and capacity of drive is remarkable. Optimum portability and suitability for intended task.
Can seem expensive, but actually cheaper than the same capacity of USB memory sticks, whether 1, 2, or 4. Surely also faster and more stable.
Obviously metal casing makes the T7 SSD Drive more solid too. And although small, less likely to be misplaced than memory stickS.
Overall, so far a good purchase. Time will tell, but promising.
Firstly, when I received this ssd, I immediately encountered a problem: the packaging had two cardboard compartments, and when trying to access the 2 usb cables the compartment containing the actual ssd opened unexpectedly. I narrowly avoided dropping the ssd. The drive itself is small and totally portable. The drive comes in exFAT format, I wanted to format it to FAT32. Problem number 2: Windows won’t format 2 terabytes in FAT32. Neither using the properties function, or via command prompt could I format it, I was getting an error message, volume too large. So, I went on a 2-hour search online to find software that would format the drive in FAT32. But, once I got past all that, I watched the drive soak up data. The read and write speeds are definitely impressive. Another advantage: it’s powered by USB, unlike mechanical hard disk drives, which need a plug. I’ve only had the drive a few hours, but already I’m very happy. I paid 186 euros, as there was a temporary deal, once the price comes down I’ll buy up another, the same model and capacity.
I’ve used many standard HD drives and USB sticks for external storage but never used an SSD drive due to there cost. Having started video production on my iMac I have found I run out of space extremely quickly. This is not from the source files but mostly the render and production files produced.
I tried the Samsung T7 drive to see if I could store my source files and render/production files on whilst using FCPX to edit videos and was delighted with the speed. I now have two drives, a 1TB and 2TB. The 1TB I use as a substitute internal drive due to it’s speed and use it as the source and destination location during the production of the video making and it’s made a huge difference to my workflow. I use the 2TB drive to store the library files and a complete copy of my source files so that should I ever return to the project everything is there and ready to go (except the render files which are huge and deleted).
I thoroughly recommend this drive for more than simple storage needs but, due to it’s speed, production files which need constant read and writing.
