Needed a card reader for an old laptop which didn’t have a USB-C. Ordered this little gadget and am well impressed. It has two ends, both a USBC for newer devices but also standard USB. Takes SD or microSD cards, transfer rate is good and it has a keyring so you can keep it handy.

    Brilliant little thing.

I remember when computers had everything you needed to read all types of cards and sticks and now there is none on most computers and this brings that back in one device well worth it even if your not going to use it right now your going to need it in the future

I use micro and mini sd cards for files , video, drone footage etc. The transfer rate is good. It reads all my cards, I use it to transfer to my laptop. ZENBOOK and phone. Zee fold 4. No problems transferring to or from either….
The keyring attachment means I can attach it to my keys and carry it around with me, very useful.

This has to be the most compact SD reader I have used (though not the shortest). I like the dual USB interface USB type C and USB type A. I cannot see the difference in terms of speed between this and the inbuilt SD reader on my Laptop. I am using this on a PC that doesn’t have an inbuilt SD reader.

I am very happy with the USB C Card Reader. It is a great way to transfer photos and videos from my camera to my phone without the need to carry my laptop. The card reader is also very fast, so I can get my photos and videos transferred quickly.

I already have an SD/Micro SD card reader, but this is much better. The other has a lead on it that dangles about, this is a self contained unit and a nicely made one at that. For 8 you can’t go wrong, particularly when you take into account that it’s got both USB-A and C connectors.

One thing to consider, and to be fair it’s no different to any other at this price (and higher), is that you can’t copy files to both cards at the same time and expect to get full speed from each. The speed will be halved. So if you’re thinking that it’s a good way to create two identical cards in half the time, forget it. It’s still very convenient though, because you can copy from one card to another (using an adapter if necessary).

It’s the kind of item that is cheap enough to have in your accessory box “just in case”.

I have card readers everywhere. But I can never find the right one I need when I need it. Is it SD? Micro SD? Will it do XC? USB C? OTG? Super annoying.
This does it all. Plug into an older computer, or TV, or anything that supports Mass Storage via a USB A port, no problem
Plug into a newer machine with USB C ? Also no problem. Attaches to a keyring? Yup! Supports every SD-based card I’ve thrown at it (except obvious non-functional fakes)? Sure does!
End of the day this is the perfect all-in-one SD card reader that you can use on almost anything with a USB socket. Ideal. Colour is nice too. Delighted.

I like this small device . I used it for reading my CCTV memory card reading . It has made my work easy and saved my money . I do not need to buy a recording device separately. As my mother passed away , her house was abundant . I put cctv cameras with memory cards . I visit that abundant house weekly and check all the recordings with the help of this memory card reader . And delete all the previous memory . This card is a handy tool for me . I can read micro memory cards and larger one as well . It is value for money . I am happy with my purchase . I like it .

This was needed for a few reasons.

Firstly, my daughters camera had a micro SD which held photographs she wanted onto her laptop.
Her laptop doesn’t have a Micro SD card reader, and she didn’t have an SD card adapter.

This holds the micro SD which placed into the laptop by the USB-A connection and she was able to transfer the photographs onto the laptop and clear the Micro SD memory.

I’ve also used this similarly to free up space on a Micro SD which was full from recording clips on the CCTV.

    Handy little adapter.

Love this portable gadget, with its 2 ports at each end, usbc and usb, I can plug this straight into my phone socket and watch content stored on memory cards eg on a plane, where I’m saving my valuable phone memory for holiday snaps.
I’ve also used this handy unit when in the car to check dashcam footage on my phone from the micro sd card stored in the dashcam, saves me from having to remove the sd and bring home to a laptop to be viewed. Am really pleased with this, great compact size, lightweight can be taken anywhere.

What a great little device! It love its flexibility between USB-C, USB 3.0 and both SD cards and TF cards. It makes for a super versatile device that’s compact and easy to use. Added bonus of a keyring so that it doesn’t get lost, as well as caps to protect the ends 🙂 Looks fantastic with its colouring and smart housing!

Absolutely no complaints! Extremely handy to have, particularly when dealing with things like cameras and phones.

This is a brilliant invention! At work we have an office laptop and the memory card reader is worn and loose because of the high number of staff taking memory cards in and out. This adapter solves that problem, which means less wear and tear on your computer.
The laptop recognises this device no problem, and it can plug into either the standard USB or a smaller USB port. I cannot recommend this enough, particularly if you are hammering your built-in card reader on a daily basis!

I carry a usb C memory card reader with my drone sonindontnhave to rely on the slow transfer speed.
This tiny usb reader isn’t the fastest but it is certainly the smallest version I have.
My old reader was usb 3.1 and would transfer at around 90mb/s, this one is around 50mb/s but is still much much faster than the wireless so this is my new drone video copying tool.

I have to be honest, I already have a Beikell card reader, it is the VCR-740 model, and the B6311 model I am reviewing now is more flexible and seems to have a better finish to the product, both are from Amazon.

The B6311 comes with both USB-A 3.0 and USB-C, which provides the additional flexibility, the ring on the product suggests portability to me, though I’m not sure how long it will be before I manage to lose one end or both that cover the USB plugs.

Extra points from me for the little blue LED, excellent little card reader and very good value at 7.99.

This is a neat little card reader which are being necessary with certain laptops today but having them built in as seemed to be the case for a while. This gives you both options to plug in, old school USB and nice new school USBC. Usbc is so much better the connector is more robust and of course you can’t get it the wrong way, still feels annoying today the old school USB! Of course once connected you can insert your memory card, it accepts all the modern most popular cards and they’re very easy to insert. The reader with a card in was recognised immediately by my laptop and it was also easy to access to transfer pictures and videos. The speed seemed reasonable enough and there were no faults transferring a large amount of files. You can’t go wrong if you require a reader this is good quality and good value. Recommended.

Being in the IT field this is a very handy item to keep on the keychain. Dual USB connections give versatility to use on both laptops, desktops or mobile devices (with a USB-C port). Metal alloy body feels solid and will hold up to life daily knocks, end caps are secure and solid fitting, which is always a worry with keychain adapters as once you lose the cap your connectors are at the mercy of the elementsbe it your pockets or bag.

No issues using under MacOS Ventura, Windows 11 or on Android when transferring off some digital camera photos stored to a U3 class 10 SD card. Speeds were on par with my 7-in-1 full size USB-C hub, with 60MBs write speed and 79MBs read speeds on average.

I have a few card readers now but this Beikell USB C Card Reader has been the fastest and easiest for my needs.

The reader comes with a standard USB 3.0 on one end and a fast USB C on the other, making it easy to use in most computers, tablets and Steam Deck. I’ve used this on a PC, Apple iPad Air 5 and Steam Deck and each one read the card without issue.

The USB C read and write speed is pretty good, it beats out my previous card reader so this has become my new favourite. It also has a handy keyring so I can stick this on my keys for when I need to read an SD card.

So this is a simple card reader, but!, what about the quality?.
So this is primarily made from an aluminium body, which has a nice kind of “Gun metal” finish, and has the branding on the front in dark grey lettering, and on the back is the CE and relevant model & usb information.
The 2 ends have covers made from a strong translucent plastic, which are end specific, they can not be swapped around.
There is a small, strong nylon twine, with a split keyring ring on, so you can attach it to whatever you need/want to.
This Supports SD/Micro SD/MMC/SDXC/SDHC/Micro SDHC, and has “USB” & “USB C” connections on either end, with which to transfer.
The quality and build of this are very good, the materials are clearly good, and all the seams are straight and well done, no uneven gaps, chips, or anything that would suggest it was anything other than well made.
    So my final thoughts on the “Beikell USB C Card Reader Mini USB 3.0 Memory Card Adapter”;

Quality. =Very Good (The build and materials seem high quality)
Aesthetic. =Nice (Looks sleek and subtle)
Utility. =Good (Supports a variety of cards SD/Micro SD/MMC/SDXC/SDHC/Micro SDHC)
Value. =Good (I’ve had several of this type of pocket reader and they often break, but this one seems very sturdy)

Would I recommend the “Beikell USB C Card Reader Mini USB 3.0 Memory Card Adapter”?, I would “Yes”, this is clearly a good quality item. So “Yes” from me.

    Great little additio

This feels sturdily built, with a compact metal body, and plastic caps covering the USB ends (it’s nice to have the choice of A or C connectors). It’s only a pity it doesn’t have any kind of cover for the actual card slots, so dust and fluff can easily get in them if you plan to put it on your keychain. As a device for use at home, however, it’s perfect.

I have to say that I was totally impressed by this little piece of tech when I opened the box. Tightly fitted inside its box to protect it in transit, it looks and felt far more expensive than it actually is.

Not all computers have a memory card slot – my desktop doesn’t, my gaming laptop does but it is tucked out of the way and impossible to get at easily – enter this functional card reader from Beikell.

The body is made of an aluminium alloy and feels good in the hand. The dark grey makes it look rather attractive. On the one side are the two card slots, one for micro cards, the other for standard size. In their display pictures the seller gives images of memory cards that should fit and work, including SD/Micro, SD/TF/SDHC/SDXC/Micro, SDHC/Micro and SDXC/MMC. In fact, it does appear this card reader will accept most models generally used.

The ends of the card reader are covered with plastic caps. Remove these and you find a standard USB C plug and a USB 3 plug – meaning this can be plugged into a wide range of products such as laptops, desktops, smart phones, tablets, televisions and so forth. It will also run under a wide ranger of operating systems including Android, Mac OS, Chrome OS, Windows 10/ 8.1/ 8/ XP and Linux. Additionally, being able to plug a memory card into the adapter really is far easier than trying to manipulate it into an almost hidden socket on a laptop. The seller also gives a large list of devices that should be compatible with this little unit.

In use, I couldn’t fault it. Plug and play on a Windows 10 desktop, easy to locate the files, impressively fast to read and transfer. I couldn’t ask for any more than that and this reader will sure make my life easier in the future. Indeed, people using digital cameras will find it so much more convenient to take out their memory card and plug it into here rather than hunting for the USB cable and plugging the whole camera into a computer. A total time-saver and an essential addition to most modern tech.

Priced at 11.99 at the time of this review, I was impressed by the build quality and the performance, and the time it can save users will more than make up for this small price. A definite recommendation for this product and one I am happy to add to my tech.

This review is for the SD Card Reader, Beikell USB C Card Reader Mini USB 3.0 Memory Card Adapter – Supports SD/Micro SD/MMC/SDXC/SDHC/Micro SDHC Compatible with MacBook Pro Air, iPad Pro Air, Galaxy S21, S22 etc.

11.99 at the time of review.

It has end caps and a keychain ring on it as well, but the real beauty of this card reader is that it fits USB A and USB C ports so can be read by the widest range of computers/devices.

It is small and compact with a little blue LED and the aluminium body speaks quality. Transfer speeds are up to USB 3 standards (which depend on devices/data sizes etc.) and I was really happy with the results.

This card reader is a thing of beauty, small and portable and is a bargain at this price. I see nothing bad to say about it so 5 stars from me and go and buy it before it goes out of stock. The end caps are easy to replace if you lose them so don’t worry about that in the slightest.

I bought this as my laptops sd reader won’t install drivers so it’s basically dead, I thought its cheap and it may work once and that’s it, I was wrong! I am using this on a daily basis, granted I had a spare micro sd card (they’re cheap anyway second hand or you may find them in old phones/game consoles you have) I’m either putting photos or moving mp3 files from my phone to a pc or to my friends phones (using that spare micro sd) also, if you are an avid DSLR enthusiast/hobbiest, you can take the sd card and pop it into this device, then pop this into your android phone/ tablet, edit your photos in Adobe lightroom then upload online. No more faffing about with laptops, you just need a phone or tablet.

The only issue I had was my stock android file explorer was not letting me move items, so I recommend getting cx file explorer on your phone.

The Beikell USB C Card Reader is a great addition to any kit bag, amateur or professional in my opinion.

I love photography, and when I am on holiday I often take way too many photos (according to my wife ). I have a compact camera, my DSLR, and my phone, and all get used depending on where I am and what I am doing.

The purpose of this device is simple, it allows you to copy or move your photos from one place to another, or to view them on a different device (including your TV via the USB port).

This little device has a USB-C end and a USB-A end, so it covers most bases, both have protective end caps. It is well made with the shell being aluminium, it feels very solid, additionally it has a keyring loop on.

When will this come in useful? For me, this will be for sending photos that I have taken on my camera via Whatsapp or by message to friends and family using my phone, it will save taking the same photo on the phone in order to send it.

The other event when this will be useful is if I fill up my SD card and need to offload the photos to my phone or tablet; this is less likely with me as I do have several SD cards as spares.

For just 11.99, I think this is a perfect item to give as a gift if you are looking for a stocking filler or a gift for a photography enthusiast in your family.

    Perfect Item for Photographers

The Beikell USB card reader has a metal shell with plastic end caps, it supports both micro SD and SD cards plus it has both USB type C and USB 3.0 type A connections which makes it very versatile.

I connected the card reader to the USB-C port on a multimedia PC, I then performed a few read speed tests, changing the orientation of the plug during testing. Both cards were recognised by my multimedia PC.
I achieved peak read speeds of around 80MB/s and average read speeds of around 64-69MB/s from both of the cards. Considering that the cards I used have a maximum read speed of 100MB/s and my multimedia PC is not the fastest, this is a satisfactory result .
I would point out though, that in one orientation of the plug, I was not getting an option to safely remove the card reader although the cards were always accessible.

I then tried the card reader in my Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, this only showed one card connected and I was getting an error message about a USB device requiring to be fixed. The video content on the recognised card was playable though.
I then changed the format of the SD cards from exFAT to NTFS and both cards became discoverable but my phone told me that it would only read from NTFS formatted cards and sure enough, you will find the “copy here” button greyed out if you try it.
The average read speed from either SD card to my phone was around 62MB/s which is not a bad result.

I then connected the card reader to my desktop PC using the USB 3.0 port, again both cards were recognised without issue, read speeds peaked at around 92 – 96 MB/s and the average speed was around 75MB/s.

Apart from the orientation problem with the USB-C connector, this card reader performed really well and produced very good read speeds, plus the price isn’t too bad for such a versatile card reader.

Before we begin, I got this item at zero cost through the Vine programme, that doesn’t mean it gets a positive review though. User reviews are important, they’re genuinely useful to buyers and we should use them, so here comes an honest one.

    In the box …
… you get the memory card reader with a lanyard keyring and some printed instructions … which I forgot to snap a photo of.

    Build quality …
… is better than usual. The body is metallic, although the detachable end caps are plastic. Have a few adapter and devices by this manufacturer and they usually are well made to be fair, similar to UGREEN in that sense, that’s no bad thing.

    In use …
… it works well. Attaches to both USB-A and USB-C interfaces easily. It recognises as a USB 3.0 device and driverless install under Windows 7,10 and 11. Under Android it’s picked up as an OTG device.

Transfer speeds are more limited by the specifications of the memory card you are using. I saw no noticeable drop when using this and the memory cards manufacturers adapter.

    Overall impressions …
    small.
    good build quality.
handy for transferring between somewhat older and more modern devices.

the end caps don’t attach to each other, some when you remove one end cap it’s just left on your desk until reattached. It means they might get lost or misplaced quite easily.
    a little pricey.

    Capable, portable, well made.

Nice build quality and especially handy for phone transfers.

This Beikell USB card reader came well packaged in a small white Beikell branded box.

This card reader has an all aluminium outer casing for the good heat dissipation. This is far better quality than the plastic ones out there.
The overall build quality is fantastic with all ports, and slots lined up properly.

It has plastic end caps, to keep the dust and fluff out of the ports when you or not using the card reader.
I like the indicator light on the reader when it’s accessing and transferring files.

This is such a great product that always comes in handy if you are regularly filling up the sd card in your phone, or your camera.

And the transfer speed is great.

A very useful product. Highly recommended.

The reader ships in a simple little box. The reader is supported inside by card to protect it in transit. All of the packaging appears to be recyclable. The card reader resembles a USB stick. One one end there is an A plug, and the other a C type. Both have a little dust cover to protect them. On the side is the slot for the cards. The body of the reader is made of a nicely finished alloy. There is also a link for a key chain.

Slotting in a card and plugging it into a USB port is simple. The PC instantly recognised the card and I was able to transfer photos fairly quickly. Plugging it into a phone or tablet will depend on the compatibility of your device. But again no issues of note. I have two minor gripes. One is the placement of the card slots. On a device this small it’s inevitable but full sized SD cards can be quite vulnerable. Depending on your port layout it can restrict which you use, and it’s possible to accidently dislodge the card. Second are the dust covers. They are so easily lost. Ultimately neither are those are major issues and easily avoided with care.

This is a nice little card reader that can fit on a keychain. You do need to be careful with full sized cards and the dust covers are easily lost. But that doesn’t detract from a useful little device.
