possibly a bit pricey
hese are a wonderful idea for any nature lover. we’ve planted a few of each into a bunch of pots in the hopes of making the garden a bit more lively for the kids. and can safely say were seeing growth. ok so we planted some a bit later than advised on the packs, but hey ho its worth a go. my fingers are not very green at all, and so far have killed off more plants than grown apart from weeds. so with these starting to sprout up now I’m keen to see how we do. the pack designs are bright an lively, and there’s plenty of info on the packs to guide you. these would make a very nice gift for anyone outdoorsy/green fingered. i can imagine my dad now just lobbing seeds onto random grass verges and smiling about it like some sort of activis
Looks grea
I hadn’t tried seed balls before, so I was intrigued by this product.
* The branding is appealing and adds a touch of charm.
* The concept of having wildflowers in our garden is very exciting
I haven’t planted them yet, as I am waiting for the perfect weather conditions to ensure the best results. Overall, I’m looking forward to seeing the beautiful wildflowers bloom and will update my review once they start growing. For now, the product looks promising and well-presented.
Beautiful wild flowers
I wanted a month to review these as I wanted them the germinate and see what the results are like. For under 30 you’ll receive 5 seedball varieties of wild flowers (Poppy, Cornflower, Oxeye Daisy, Red Campion, and Forget-Me-Not seeds). Now that they’ve germinated, they look absolutely stunning. There are 30 seeds per ball, so you get hundreds of flowers in this one pack.
Thank you for reading.
Easy and fun gardening
These seedball wildflower tubes are a delight to use. Just scatter them in the garden, and with minimal effort, beautiful wildflowers start to grow. They attract bees and butterflies, adding vibrant life to my garden. The packaging is attractive, making them a great gift for gardening enthusiasts. It’s an easy and eco-friendly way to enhance any outdoor space.
Pretty
An attractive looking set and would be an ideal gift , the seeds come in 5 different tubes all of which are ascetically pleasing. Open opening you can see there aren’t a great deal of seeds. I’m not going to comment on the growth as I received these at the wrong time of the year for germination.
Ideal present for the gardener friend or yourself
This pack of five attractive tubes contain the seeds for poppies, forget-me-nots, cornflowers, red campion and oxeye daisies. These native wildflowers are ideal to bring a little bee and insect joy to a part of the garden.
Each tube contains 20 specially created seedballs. Each clay seedball is packed with seeds and chilli to battle the garden slugs and snails. The 20 seedballs should be enough to plant a 1m x 1m plot.
Planting can be done in the spring or the autumn, so I’ve missed the spring season and flowers for this year but come the autumn I’ll be preparing for a display of wildflowers next summer.
Bee / environment friendly seed balls
Got a garden? Need some seeds?
These are the SEEDBALL Wildflower Tubes, Set Of 5 x Tubes.
These wildflower seeds are great you get 5 tubes of seed balls containing forget-me-nots, cornflower, common poppy, daisy and red campion. The great thing about these is the seeds are surrounded by small compost balls with added chilli powder to deter slugs, genius. It suggests you put in the fridge a couple of weeks prior to planting.
Overall I’d recommend these seed balls, but they are very pricy. So do shop around.
Lovely set but pricey
These SEEDBALL Wildflower Tubes look amazing and would make a lovely gift. They are however not great value for money and you could buy the seeds much cheaper. The packaging and seed balls are good quality and they are very easy to plant. It’s hard to rate growth success this year as it has been the worst year for germination that I’ve ever known and I’ve had issues with many seeds this year that normally germinate fine. So if you don’t mind the price these are a nice product but there are cheaper ways to get these native wildflowers.
Great way to introduce your little ones to the garde
These look easy to plant and generate a good selection of flowers in the garden. They seem to be balls of seeds rather than the individual seeds. I think this would make it more interesting for our kids to start getting into garden life and watch and see how plants grow. Given these flowers will form a meadow then this would further attract kind and interesting insects to the garden which will further keep the kids interested and fascinated about the garden.
There is a selection of 5 different tubes of wild flowers and each one contains 20 seed balls. We are not expert gardeners so these are super easy to deploy, according to the instructions. It is basically drop and leave. Well, drop leave and water.
Seems reasonable value for the selection that you get but will update once we have our meadow!
Very nice.
This is a pack of 5 tubes of seedballs, which come packed in a sturdy outer box. The seedballs contain different varieties of wild flowers and seem to be organic. That’s great, but although there are plenty of the balls, I thought it a bit expensive for what they were, hence I deducted a star. I have planted some and in spite of the unseasonably weather, I do have shoots coming up so fingers crossed I will have wild flowers before long. This would make a good gift for any gardener.
Beautifully packaged
These are a really nice set of seedballs in cardboard tubes. A pretty package.
They’d make a lovely gift for someone.
I’ve wanted to put a bee friendly section in the garden for a while and these make it easy. There’s instructions in the packet and with 20 balls in each tube there’s plenty of chances to get it right.
Hopefully they’ll take and I’ll have a nice Bee friendly garden next year.
You can go on a secret support the bees growing mission. First...
Open these tubes away from your face and possibly outside.
Took a whole lot of the dust directly into my lungs and made me cough hard!
To be sown during spring time (missed) or autumn (next opportunity).
Or try the fridge idea for a few weeks…
I’ll update this review, with the result.
(If I remember and can get to where they’re planted)
Tubes smaller than I was expecting.
29.99 at order time.
A great way to sow wildflowers
To help bees and wildlife I have already planted wildflowers in about a third of my garden. They have been so successful at attracting bees, butterflies and other wildlife that I have decided to increase the size of my wild garden so I was happy to try these seed balls.
In the set you get 5 cardboard tubes of different wild flowers (cornflower, red campion, poppy, forget me knot and oxeye daisy) all of which contain 20 seed balls. The seed balls are made up of the seeds, compost to nourish the seeds, clay to protect them and some. chilli powder to stop slugs eating them.
You scatter the balls around the garden in areas you want them to grow in then make sure they are watered as you would any seeds. You can scatter the balls in spring or autumn so that they grow at the correct time.
From experience I have found that it takes a couple of years for wildflowers to take over an area to give a great display that go on to self seed themselves so the results won’t be instant.
We all need to do more more to encourage pollinators so by just scatter a few seed balls in a small area and nurturing them to grow you will be doing your bit.
These seed balls are easy to use and allow you to pick the area for seeding at at 29.99 for all five tubes they would make a perfect gift for anyone with a garden and loves wildlife.
Super gift and a lovely ide - just need to wait now!
These are lovely gift to receive or to give to someone, especially someone that loves gardening or just wants easy gardening! You can see the size of each container in my pictures, rather just smaller than my hand, and these just look and feel awesome – very eco and good quality. I can’t wait to see the cornflowers especially grow as I love those, but the rest are such a good selection too for our wild area. Lovely lovely product.
Five tubes of careful selection of wildflower seed balls
This is a set of 5 Seed Ball Varieties kept in beautifully Illustrated tubes. Inside the cardboard box, I found five tubes of careful selection of British wildlife-friendly wildflower seeds. They are Forget-me-not, Poppy, Oxeye Daisy, Red Campion and Cornflower respectively.
Each tube contains 20 seed balls. They’re easy to plant. Simply place the whole balls into the soil, leaving them 10cm apart; cover them with a thin layer soil; give them watering and let the nature do the rest. When the colourful flowers grow up, I am sure that they will be attractive to bees, butterfly and other garden wildlife. It’s recommended to plant the seed balls at spring or autumn time. I have missed the chance to plant them in spring, so will plant the in autumn instead.
Gorgeous gift and fun for kids
You could buy this pack as individual gifts – a lovely idea, very easy to sew. But expensive. Much cheaper to buy small seed packets. However, a wonderful way to introduce kids to growing their own plants.
Nice idea, too early to know the results
A great gift idea, as this box comes with 5x cardboard tubes of seed balls. Gift as a pack or split into 5 smaller gifts.
Each of the tubes contains 20x balls (about 1cm across), and each tube covers about 1m2 with diffywild flowers, although there are different numbers of seeds per pack / flower type.
The instructions mention they’re best scattered in spring or autumn, although you can also try late spring/summer if you put them in the fridge first for a couple of weeks (never knew that!).
Seem very easy to use and scatter.
The only criticism is they seem quite expensive for what you get.
Good idea if they work!?
SEEDBALL Wildflower Tubes. Set of 5 Seed Ball Varieties in Beautifully Illustrated Tubes. British Wild Flower Seeds, Eco Friendly Garden Gifts. Seed Bombs for Bees & Butterflies
Current price 29.99.
A very nice set of Seed Balls. Good mixture of seeds to attract wildlife (Butterflies / Bees etc).
Ordered these with a view to scattering them on the Side of the road / Dyke bank outside my house. Thought they would brighten up the area a bit. A good mixed variety.
Forget Me Not 20 balls 1000 seeds. Red Campion 20 balls 600 seeds. Common Poppy 20 balls 2000 seeds. Cornflower 20 balls 200 seeds. Oxeye Daisy 20 balls 600 seeds.
Not sure these are a scatter and watch them grow type thing. There are some “Tips” in the pack. They like plenty of water. Initially like a cold spell etc etc. Ideal for a British Summer then!! I will scatter these come Autumn and take my chance for next year.
If the Banks in bloom I’ll be back with a suitable Photo! Fingers crossed!!
Nicely package seed bombs
I ordered these in high summer, so it’s too late (and too early) to plant these spring and autumn sowing plants, but I honestly can’t imagine why – if they are seeds – they won’t grow if planted in the correct location.
There is a nice range of flowers in the package, and the package is attractive, so they would make a lovely gift.
I have what is currently a deep shade woodland area in my garden, that will soon have very large trees removed, allowing more light into the area, and I intend to scatter them there in autumn and look forward to some colourful flowers near year before i work out what to do with that area on a more permanent basis.
Lovely idea for a gift or to use yourself
The packaging is beautiful for these wildflower seeds making term ideal for a gift. There is an instruction leaflet detailing when and how to plant. I was amazed by the size of the seeds thinking that’s not many but as each one contains between 10 and 100 seeds dependant on type I’m sure they’ll be sufficient! I cannot comment on growth as i will be scattering them in the autumn but I’m sure they will flourish
Perfect stocking fillers, love the design!
I was looking for something nature-friendly I could get for my friends this Christmas. This set is perfect for that. I like the fact that each tube has a different seed type in it, which means that I can give out 5 unique gifts. The packaging, the design and colours are even better than in the product photos. I had a quick peek inside the tubes and they were generously filled with nice, round seedballs.
Definitely worth buying!
I’m thinking of getting some more just for myself to try out in a few pots on my balcony 🙂
