Well pleased with Game Sound n Play Thank You..
Good Sound Quality ,Well pleased with the Game Thank You..
Staggeringly good!
I bought this for my (admittedly Sonic mad) 10 year old son for Christmas. He wasn’t expecting it. When he opened it, well… I will be repairing the ceiling now.
The game itself is MASSIVE. He’s been playing it for hours and simply loves it. The environment is so deep and distant, and the graphics are so smooth. Audio is immersive too, with some tremendous weather foley.
I’ve not played it, probably won’t get the chance – unless I prise the controller from his hands. If I did I’m sure I’d enjoy it as much.
Definitely a winner in my book.
The best 3D Sonic has been in a decade
-Spoiler Free Review-
It was such a breath of fresh air after a whole decade of not particularly enjoying any of the games and as a lore advocate I very much enjoy how well written and how impactful the story actually is. The way I felt when I heard characters that I’ve known for so long and have disliked their representations recently finally be who I fell in love with made me feel like a kid again.
Gameplay wise the open zone is the best part of the game and I’m glad it is ’cause it’s the biggest chunk of your playtime and the boss battles are impeccable, truly the best. Now for the cyberspace levels that had been teased as special stages, I don’t particularly like them but I don’t dislike them? Maybe it’s just because it’s reused level design and aesthetics even though it’s explained by the story. Good thing those levels are mostly optional so by the end of the game I ended up ignoring them even though their music slapped, which brings me to my next point.
THE OST IS SO GOOD, though not as good as my favourites (Unleashed/SA2) it’s still definitely up there, then again Sonic music has always been great.
Overall I’d give it a 8 out of 10, it’s a great step forward and I hope they keep this formula while also polishing it. Sonic does feel better to control compared to past titles but it’s still not perfect.
During the cyberspace levels which are technically Forces style boost levels (though improved) he still feels weird to control and not as flowy as Unleashed or Generations, Colours even. In the open zone though? No problems, he controls just fine plus the combat.
Bonus point – I think the enjoyment of this game scales higher if you know the whole lore of the series, when you play the game you’ll know why I’m saying this.
Absolutely wonderful game, but product arrived damaged
I’m not gonna go in depth into the game itself, more just the product I received. This isn’t a game review website, after all. I will say this: Sonic fans, this is an absolute must. For the general public, its a bit harder to sell as it heavily relies on past lore from games upwards of 30 years old now, but its a fun romp that’ll give you or your family or your friends something to entertain yourselves with.
As for what I received. The package was generally speedy, being delivered 2 days after purchace. However, after opening, I noticed the case itself had a slash on the back that went through the plastic, but not the cover itself. I have to wonder if this is an issue with the retailer it came from or during the shipping process, but either way I’m a bit dissapointed this was allowed to slide from either party. Every other part of the package was undamaged and perfectly fine. I guess I’ll either swap the case out for a new one or live with this permament scar on the case.
Great game. Not perfect but a really enjoyable experience and a good step in the right direction for this franchise. Solid 7/10. Highlight is definitely the bosses. The soundtracks are awesome and really showcase super sonics power. Would recommend
Whilst I didn’t order my copy from Amazon, I just wanted to write a review on this game as it truly made me the happiest Sonic Fan in a LONG time.
There’s so much to do, exploring the islands and uncovering the mysteries of the islands, but the main star of the show would be the Titans… I TELL YOU NOW, GO INTO THIS GAME BLIND, DON’T LOOK AT THE SPOILERS…. I got actual goosebumps the moment I began fighting the first titan, The Music, The Action, they’re truly flawless, it’s just a shame there’s no way of replaying them,
Knowing this game is a jumping off point for the new direction of the series it’s absolutely fantastic, whilst it does suffer from pop in and maybe some weird physics in Cyberspace, you soon adjust and you’ll be happy you played this classic.
Also the PS4 version runs at 30fps, whilst that doesn’t bother me as i’ve played and Platinumed this game on the PS4, for some it may, so If you have a PS5, either get the PS4 version and get the free upgrade to PS5 or get a PS5 copy
2022 is the Year for Sonic
This is the best sonic game in years.
You will love the exploration, combat & sense of speed.
