Great lights
These lights look great. They work really well and have a wide sensor range. They really look like security cameras and flash red when they are not lit up. Moved to a new home last month so these are perfect to help light up the Garden in the night.
Pricey but quality dummies
The main body of these dummy cameras are made completely from strong metal, making them very difficult to “tamper” with – they are sturdy and difficult to break. Only the solar panel and the wireless antenna are plastic. They are a little heavy, but not overly.
They are easy to mount, they come with stickers marking where to drill to make installation easy, and also come with “24 hour surveillance” warning stickers to display on windows etc. as an added deterrent.
They function well as floodlights – they are brighter than I expected with a cool daylight tone, good motion detection and seem to have a pretty good battery as they are working quite effectively in the short winter daylight hours. They are very expensive but I’ve never seen dummy cameras that look so realistic (and function so well as a floodlight!)
Superb dummy cameras
These dummy cameras look the real deal and they feel top quality.
They are extremely easy to install.
The solar panel is a good size, and despite the UK weather they do seem to charge well.
The light is very bright and the camera flashes red intermittently to reflect a real camera recording.
As a deterrent these do a smashing job!!
Solar camera
Theft has been increasing in my city and I know that taking care of cameras and it’s cost is a lot so this was actually the perfect idea. It’s lights turn on when it senses movement close by and also works a flash light for our dark entrance. Overall a great product and looks just like a normal camera which is just great and you really can’t tell apart from a real camera.
It is also very nice that it works with solar batteries.
Good quality and very brigh
I real like how these security lights look. They have the appearance of real security cameras even down to the flashing red security light. They are well made and do not feel cheap.
I like that they are solar powered as this is far more convenient. The light is very bright and easily lights up my garden when triggered.
They are a little expensive, but it is a set of two and they work very well, so I feel it is justified.
They are also easy to install. The camera’s come with placement stickers and fixings which is useful.
I am happy with these security lights and would recommend them.
Provide a good amount of light and a deterre
This set of two solar lights that double as fake CCTV cameras are a good idea and work well.
They were very easy to secure to our walls with a few screws and a little drilling and they were ready to use straightaway.
The solar light aspect is very good, even at this time of year in January where there’s not much sunlight each day for the panels to store. The lights are bright and have good coverage. They always go off each time I walk past, without fail.
They are well made and have an expensive look to them, so they definitely have the look of something that’s more than just a solar light. They look the part of security cameras.
VALUE OF MONEY
Advantages
Deterrent effect: have the exact appearance of real cameras, making it difficult to tell the difference from the surface, it can be an effective deterrent against potential intruders or vandals, as they may believe they are being watched even if there is no live camera system in place.
Cost-effective: Its price is much lower than a real full-camera system
Easy to install: it’s very easy to install and does not require any wiring.
value of money: In everyday life when no threatening behaviour occurs It’s possible to use the 800-lumen motion-activated floodlights on a dummy camera as a type of motion-sensing solar-powered light, which can be a way to save on energy costs. When it is dark and someone or an animal passes within the detection range, the light will automatically turn on and continue to illuminate for 20 seconds. This is a useful feature for increasing visibility and security in outdoor areas
drawbacks: it does not record or transmit any footage, so it is not suitable for some important occasions,
One potential drawback of dummy cameras is that they do not have any wiring, which may make it easier for someone to realize that they are fake. However, dummy cameras are often designed to look like real cameras and can be mounted in the same way, so it may still be difficult for someone to tell the difference from a distance.
Great deterent fake security cams
Great easy to install solar powered lights/fake cameras. No need to worry about placement near a socket etc as solar powered. The floodlights are bright and are motion activated so great to deter criminals and alert you if anyone triggers i
Looks like a real CCTV but not a practical choice
This fake camera is meant to prevent unauthorised visitors and greatly reduce security costs, but it is not a sensible solution for home protection against intruders.
The Techage fake security cameras resemble actual cameras and can be put alongside or in place of live camera systems. It has a sensor range of 28-32 feet and can automatically activate a solar-powered nighttime red light and powerful 800-lumen motion-activated flood lights for 20 seconds. Installing is simple without the use of wires; only the attachment is made of metal screws and is installed using a template with surface mounting marks. Furthermore, this fake camera is IP66 waterproof and dustproof, and both the solar panel and the base can be easily changed to suit the best use and charging angle.
CCTV systems can be warned before a burglary occurs, but they are highly expensive and installation can be difficult. Techage fake cameras can not only startle burglars but also serve as a lighting tool for the backyard, front entrance, driveway, and other areas.
They’re a really good set of dummy cameras that seem like the genuine thing, and the floodlight is very brilliant when fully charged. But I’m not going to compromise my family’s safety when there are affordable and legitimate CCTV cameras with a simple installation that would be a perfect alternative to assure comfort in our own home.
Overall, this could serve as a temporary security solution, but I would rather invest in an actual security camera with my 63.98, if I were to choose.
Amazing build quality, great light outpu
Ok so the first thing I need to say about these is “WOW build quality!”, frankly these have better “bodies” and “auxiliaries” than most “actual cameras”.
These “Dummy Cameras” come in a pack of 2, and as we have trouble getting a Wi-Fi signal out the back of our property, actually connecting cameras is an issue unless I want to run dozens of metres of cables(I don’t), so the best option for us is to fit security lights “That look!” And “Act!” like real cameras, and these fit that bill perfectly.
The cameras have a “Very realistic” look, with all the options you’d expect to see on real cameras, I’d certainly believe these where real if I just saw them on a property, they have really nice rugged metal bodies, with “PIR” sensors that work great, with a red “LED” that blinks on the front of each camera, and then once triggered, a bank of “VERY bright” LEDs come on, just like a real security camera light would. The dome in the centre of the LEDs is designed to look like a camera dome, and I think it all looks totally realistic, and then you add, 2x (fake)Wi-Fi Aerials that attach to the side of each unit, an actual working solar panel on the top, both of which are manipulatable, so they can be positioned just like you would the real thing.
The install funnily enough is the same process as a “Real camera”, you even get a “drill template(see pic2), to guide you as to where the drill holes need to be, and they provide the required fixings to put them into place, which themselves are a decent quality.
I can honestly say all the way round the units, the quality of materials, and build, has surprised me, I genuinely didn’t expect them to look and feel so good. We’ve even had “smaller” members of our house dancing in front of them, because they think they are on camera, which made me laugh.
Really have given us a resolution to a problem I didn’t know how to solve without lots of messing about, so I’m very happy with them.
Great quality but not the cheapes
These cameras look and feel quality made. Super easy to install on any surface. I installed one on a brick wall and one on a fence. The motion detection is good and the light is nice and bright for a solar light. They may fool some into thinking it’s a camera but my main purpose is the light. It does make them expensive if you just need lights however. The red flashing light should stay on to be more realistic as real cctv they don’t flash.
Overall a nice quality security light that really could be mistaken for a camera.
A bit more expensive than other fake cameras but worth the price.
This set of 2 Techage solar battery powered fake security cameras arrived boxed with user guide and warning stickers.
I have them in black.
These dummy CCTV cameras look very realistic.
They are well made from a good quality metal and plastic.
They were easy to install.
Floodlights works well and are very bright.
They charge well during sunny and bright days.
Solar panels are adjustable, so can be directed in to the sun/light.
Motion sensor is sensitive and very reactive to movements, what is a big plus.
Excellent to deter unwanted visitors. Perfect to install in places where the real camera doesn’t have coverage.
A bit more expensive than other fake cameras I saw, but of and excellent quality and look very realistic, so I would happily recommend them.
Simple to use but 1 flaw
These lights are very strong and made from metal.
They look really good quality and work very well.
The solar panel keeps the large battery topped up and the movement sensor works very well.
The light stays on for 20 seconds before switching off.
The only downside is the ‘IR LEDs ‘ don’t look like IR LEDs as the red light blinks rather than stays on dimly.
Look The Real Deal
I have a few security cameras up now but there are areas of my property I can’t simply provide power to. I do have solar-powered ones but to be honest the wifi won’t reach. I just wanted something to deter people further so I thought some fake ones would work. Granted, these are slightly pricy for dummy cameras but they are of high quality and look like the real deal. As these don’t have many internal components they are extremely lightweight and in turn, are rather easy to mount on to any surface.
During the day it charges and at nighttime to motion-activated floodlights work wonders. There is an indicator light so people think that it’s the real thing. Even close-up, it is enough to make you question its legitimacy. The sensor works incredibly well to detect motion and when it does detect motion, it fires off a very bright light, somewhat like the flash/strobe on a real camera.
They were very easy to install and great value for your money. If you just need something to deter people, these are a perfect choice. The cheaper ones just don’t look real enough anymore. I do consider these highly-priced, but sometimes you have to spend a little more for peace of mind.
Hope this review helps.
Very good set of security lights replica cameras
Techage Solar Battery Powered Metal Fake Security Camera, Dummy CCTV Cameras, Motion-Activated Floodlights, Realistic Look, Easy to Install, IP66 Waterproof, Warning Sticker Included, Pack of 2(Black)
Nicely packaged in the box. In the box is 2 replica security cameras with solar panels. 2 sets of raw plugs and screws (8 raw plugs and 8 screws ) 2 security stickers. 2 screw templates. 4 screw attennas And 1 manual.
The manual gives good clear information on the set up and installation of the cameras. The cameras themselves looks very good quality an mimic real security cameras l. The solar light is plenty bright and the motion sensor works perfectly well. Good build quality and excellent replica cameras.
Look very real, even has twin aerials. Very bright lights.
We have woken up a couple of mornings this month to find the rear gate unlocked. The gate leads nowhere except to our garden. We have heating fuel etc there so want to secure it best we can. We have now added a large chain and pad lock and the addition of these security lights will make a big difference. The fact they have the dummy cameras means they will be a big deterrent. The motion sensor works well and lights up as soon as anyone walks in the vicinity alerting us to movement. We have one at the side of the house and one fixed to a hut that overlooks the side path, so all the back is covered. They are easy to fit, the screws are included. The solar panels are nice and big so are more efficient in getting enough light to work all night, because they aren’t permanently lit the battery life is good. Attention to detail is good as the cameras look real and look like they are powered up and ready to film, the dummy aerials make them look like Wi-Fi cameras that would upload images straight to the user’s phone or cloud. Good thing is you can even place these in places that you would not be permitted to film with a real camera.
Sad to say, a must have these days
These a a great addition to my security, a fit and forget device.
It gives says in the literature it gives an 800 lumen beam on detection, which is like a very powerful torch. This requires power, and as they are solar powered, they will need to be placed where they get some sun, and also adjusted so they are not pointing at an area where people are often walking past, as this will result in the internal battery going flat, how quickly will depend on the amount of sun they get during daylight hours.
Having written that, with sensible use, of these two lamps will no doubt deter would be robbers, as for all they know, there picture has been taken, plus any other options that apply to a real regular security camera, but at a significantly lower cost. It is also providing security by simply being on show, as prospective thieves often do checks on premises when deciding the easier targets, so even if the batteries do run down for any reason, they are still a deterrent.
They look a well made solid construction, and should last a long time.
A final note, please be sure to remove the small plastic film covering the detection lenses which were on the units I received, as they are there to protect the unit in transit.
Value for the price
Looks really like the real one, feels much solid unless those plastic one on the market. Quite decent amount of light intensity. Metal outter case, very well made as well and does worth the price.
Only few things that is not good enough,
1. There is no running red led flashing, is it just mine without the red led? Both of my light without that.
2. Can’t rotate the solar panel to get the light from the back side, I may try to flip the panel and hope it will work. Since the light is not placed directly facing the sunlight, and the solar panel can’t be rotated, only tilted.
Other than that I have no complain about it.
Good security lights that also act as a good deterre
These were easy to mount and look the absolute business, they light up areas well at 800 lumens and the motion sensors are great giving good accuracy with few false triggers, the big bonus of these is they look like a pair of very hi-tech security cameras which should keep any potential wrongdoers at bay and they do not need any holes for power as they run on a battery and solar panels, overall very good lights.
Good quality and believable dummy cameras
This pair of solar panelled dummy cameras are among the more believable ones I’ve seen and they’re certainly built to last!
To be honest, I’ll be using these as handy-dandy solar powered flood lights so that I don’t have to rely on a hand or head torch when I’m outside in the dark tending to my rabbits but they’ve definitely got the look of a witless CCTV camera and I’d certainly think twice about approaching a property with one or a pair of these installed.
The casings and mounts of these units are constructed of metal and they’ve got a real weight to them – and with that in mind – it’s definitely worth taking your time to mount/anchor these to your outside wall properly as they’re considerably heavier than my actual wireless cameras!
The solar panels are a good size and can be positioned easily to make sure they get as much sun light as possible (ha, difficult in the UK! Especially at the momentthere’s been major Silent Hill vibes here for the last few days).
I like the addition of the window sticker which indicates to people that you have CCTV installed and you’re also supplied with the fixtures and hole template for mounting the units to the wall.
The 8 LEDs that form the floodlight are super bright and are easily triggered by any movement (a potential downside vs actual cameras with variable motion detection as these activate when anything triggers the sensor.) within a 28-32ft range of the unit – it then remains on for 20 seconds once movement stops.
My only concern with this and actual solar powered CCTV cameras is that we probably have more dull days than we do bright, sunny days per year and as I find with my novelty outdoor lighting, unless it’s had many hours of full sun to charge, you’ll only get limited use at night.
I’ve had one of these cameras sitting outside all day (in a spot that normally gets all day sun) and because it’s been pretty rank here, the flood light was triggered once by me before running out of charge.
But overall, they’re a really decent set of dummy cameras that look like the real thing and the floodlight, when charged enough, is really bright and would definitely make someone think twice!
Built to very high standards
This is the second TechAge product that I have, and this is built to the exact high standards that my “real” camera and floodlight are built to. Both to look at and when touched it is indistinguishable from the camera version. It works extremely well as a motion-detecting floodlight, with the appearance of a camera that would be recording any movements. This makes it a very good alternative to the more expensive full devices for those wanting to have a deterrent but with a tight budget.
It is very easy to set up, with well-written and easy-to-follow instructions. Do think about where the sun is coming from to charge the battery but it appears to charge well during a winter’s day as long as it has a view of the sky.
The device comes with the same warning stickers regarding video surveillance that are on my camera. I would happily use this as a secondary system to that camera to light up some areas as well as as a video deterre
Convincing fake cameras
I am rather pleased with these. I do have internal cameras but the wiring involved in setting up external cameras has always put me off. These obviously don’t need any wiring. And they work well as PIR activated security lights which put out quite a good light. That draws attention which I think makes these look even more convincing.
