In most other barefoot/minimal shoe brands I wear a size 10. Vivobarefoot 10s are a bit bigger but wearable with socks. Without socks they feel a bit too loose. In reality, a size 9.5 would probably be perfect. I ended up buying a second pair of size 9s and removing the insole to wear without socks. A little tight in terms of toe splay, but doable!

If you wear a half size and sometimes wear socks then 2 pairs might be the way to go.

On a good note, that means they’ll wear half as fast!

Overall great shoe. The rubber they use can be very slippery on flatter rocks when wet, so be careful.

I love my cheaper barefoot shoes and have now got to a stage that I run. I wanted some Vivo’s but wrestled with the price, these refurbished ones came up, tried them and I love them. Really comfy, zero drop and huge toe box which is great for my wide feet. I was nervous about buying refurbished but that had been replaced with happiness. I would recommend them 100%

5.0 out of 5 stars Refurbished vivo's, love em

This is my fourth pair of the trail fg.
First of all, the dark blue color is full of shiny points, I don’t find it fashionable. Laces- I usually replace since it’s too long. Sizing- I find the toe box narrower then previous models and an overall more stiff. I’m not sure they’ll keep on being my 3 season go to as in the last 4 years.

    Less comfortable then previous years

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersPros: I really like these shoes. They they look great, are light, have a great barefoot ground feel, and our extremely breathable. The traction feels solid, as does the shoe.

Cons: I’m really not sure what Vivobarefoot was thinking with these laces. The laces that come on the shoes are extremely thin, and ribbed. The ribbing prevents the laces from properly moving and makes it hard to get a comfortable, tight fit. The narrow diameter causes them to cut into my feet when tightened enough to make the shoe feel secure. I almost returned the shoes because of the laces. I ended up swapping the laces with a thicker no-tie elastic lace (see photo). It makes the shoes much more comfortable, and the elastic nature adjusts with movement so they don’t cut into me.

Also: I wish they had half sizes, because the pair I have are slightly longer than I would prefer but the next size down jams my toes.

    Great shoes, terrible laces

Just ordered my 2nd pair after wearing the last ones for over 2 years across the city, mountains and beaches. They are really built to last and I’m heavily footed. Normally go through shoes every 4 months. As with all barefoot shoes there’s an adjustment period. I’m never going back to regular shoes again. Unlike some other barefoot shoe companies which have quality and fit issues, VIVO have nailed it with this design.

Im very much a “one shoe to rule them all” type and these have held up very well. I run in them, use them as water shoes, mow in them, work in them, everything. Not to say they’re great for all these things, but they don’t even really show any signs of wear besides being a bit more flexible. They have tough soles to protect against sharp rocks without being too stiff and they secure nicely at the ankle to stop slipping and blisters. Only personal issue I had was the shoes not having in-between sizes, as one of my toes on the right foot is a bit longer than the others, thus causing minor blisters on that one toe. I removed the insoles and it created enough space to not be an issue.

    “Perfekte Allrounder”

    Klare Empfehlung!

vivobarefoot footwear are excellent super comfy and have greatly reduced pain in my big toes caused by years of wearing other none foot shaped shoes and trainers however i felt the need to write this review as a previous review laid claims to them being german made which is not the case vivobarefoot are in the process of if not already done moving there main production lines from China to Vietnam. they also have offices in Ethiopia and Portugal too but can find no mention of them ever being produced in Germany but they do have retail outlets there
