Good game
I bought this game as a Christmas present for my son and he enjoys playing i
Great but 30fps
Great title with fantastic art direction and strong narrative but disappointingly locked to 30 fps. Asobo Studio is a talented studio but must strive for a 60 fps minimum on their next-generation titles point blank period.
Great game
But it is very hard to get anywhere there are too many rats butt will get there in the end I have now finished it but will do it again as it is great graphics and game play
Good but not great, 6/10
I was a major fan of the prequel and first game, ‘innocence’ that game was a total masterpiece. I fell in love and have done multiple play throughs which is ultra rare for me, for me to play a game twice I have to really Enjoy it. Out of 10 games I will only achieve multiple play throughs on about two.
This game was good but not great, I wasn’t addicted and I was not bothered about booting up and playing, when on the first game I was very addicted it was in my mind constantly. Upon completing the original I was Googling a second game for many months untill this was announced.
Dislike:
Hugo is a very unlikeable he is constantly annoying to a stage where you wish he would shut up.
Game was quite clunky on release however an update may have settled this now.
It felt shorter than the original.
Advantages:
Stunning to look at one of the best graphical games I have played, I played on Samsungs flagship QN90B 55inch TV, HDR it’s their best QLED TV and best for gaming, was truly remarkable.
No spoilers – If you want to cry for a video game, we’ll then this is definitely for you. The music is amazing, the characters and the story keeps you on your toes because you just want to know what happens within the chapter, and certain events happen that keep you playing until the end.
Took me 2 weeks to recover from the ending.
Even though the camera movement was a bit slow on the ps5, even when changing settings, it still didn’t stop me from enjoying it.
Great!
Bought as a Christmas present for my father. Whilst he hasn’t seen or played it, I had inspected the case and disc etc., and it looks exactly as it should. Very pleased!
Bigger, better sequel
This is a very strong follow up to ‘A Plague Tale: Innocence’. Make sure you play that before you play this, though, as it is essential to know the story of the original game to get the full impact of the story in this.
The design of the world is a big step up from the original. In many places, the levels are more open allowing for various paths to the end goal. One area that stands out is a Wicker Man-sque open world island that is fully available to explore. The way locations change as the game (and the plague) progresses is impressive. The graphics are occasionally breathtaking and some of the set pieces, involving destruction cashed by many thousands of individually rendered rats, are the most impressive I have seen in any video game.
The real strong point is this game is the storytelling. The main characters are wonderfully written and voice acted and the game doesn’t leave you with many unanswered questions by the point of its finale.
The gameplay allows for more variety than the original game. If I had one criticism it is that the gameplay can occasionally be a bid fiddly. For example, if you are stood at the edge of an lighten area, the rats can grab your legs and kill you unfairly. Also, I found the opening few chapters some of the most difficult in the game. As you unlock more abilities, things get a lot easier.
A final shout-out to the soundtrack, which is the best I have heard in a game all year.
Overall, this is a superb story-driven game, and well worth your time and money.
Great game great story
Better than first game really enjoyed it great graphics and story
A real showcase for the PS5. Superb graphics, atmospheric soundtrack and a compelling story.
If you enjoyed the first Plague Tale then you’ll find this to be better in every way.
Combat and stealth are much improved, the graphics are excellent, with very convincing facial movement and the music (something I often turn off or turn right down in games) is an essential feature that really adds to the game experience.
The icing on the cake is the outstanding acting by the cast, which makes for a gripping and at times emotional journey by fully believable characters.
If this doesn’t win an award or two at the Game Awards this year then I’ll eat my PS5….!
Beautiful and sad
This isn’t a perfect game.
There are times when you feel that you’re playing a video game and you have to xyz. For example, here’s another stealth section. Here’s another hoard of rats to find your way past. The core gameplay mechanics are fine, but they do show their age.
But when the game flows, it’s really worth it. The voice acting, lush landscapes, and emotional impact are all best-in-class.
I’d urge you play this game. You’ll remember it unlike so many others.
Such a great game
If you have not played this game then play 1 before 2 as it follows such a good story. If you have played 1 then 100% get this game as its bigger and better then 1st. If you love The Last Of Us your love this game. A must buy for anyone.
eally good game, as good as the first one. It’s really pretty and sometimes scary. You get the choice to kill all enemies or just avoid them.
great game but significant fps drop on ps5
he game is really nice and looks beautiful. it also has a really great storyline in my opinion although it can get slightly repetitive with Amicias protective role of her brother. The one (MAJOR) problem is the significant drop in frames per second resulting in a rather frustrating experience when you’re in combat and trying to deal with it under timed pressure
This game is superb not as easy as the 1st game since getting away from all the rats is harder since there is a lot lot lot more. The puzzles are great as is the game and the music is superb . If you played the 1st game you need this in you in your life .
I wish I could play it again for the first time. I tried to slowly play through it but it was so compelling I ended up completing it more quickly than I would have liked. Amazing graphics, gripping story and great soundtrack/sound. Highly recommend! +++
This game is a step up from the first one “Innocence” (which itself was a brilliant game)
It is a very story driven game which is what makes this game for me. Combat has drastically improved since the last game and there are more options available on how to proceed in combat situations. For example, in the last game it was very stealth heavy but in Requiem there’s more choice on what you can do. Whether it’s stealth or engaging in direct combat. The added addition of a crossbow is also good.
I found that Requiem improved a lot on the gameplay from the first game.
The characters are still incredibly written and the voice acting blew me away. The music is also beautiful and adds so much to the game. I downloaded the soundtrack on Apple Music as soon as I started playing as I loved it so much.
Graphically this game is one of the best I’ve played on the PS5. Apparently this game only runs in 30 FPS but honestly I did not notice it or care as this game is stunning regardless and the story makes you want more as you play.
Highly recommend this game and the first one. I find it disappointing that some people are giving it low ratings due to the frame rate.
This has become one of my all time favourite games.
Absolutely phenomenal single player experience. Loved the first but this is even better! Loved it! Great story, music and the set pieces brilliant! If you liked the first, enjoy stealth games with a great story this one is for you. Only downside is the game runs 30-40fps and sometimes it feels as though it drops under 30. Not good for a “next gen” title. However graphics are very good. Hope you enjoy more than I did, 22 hours single player story didn’t drag at all. Enjoy.
Story, emotions, graphic, sound…. Everything in this game work together just right. One of the best ps5 title for sure
A beautiful game with improved gameplay and amazing graphics! An emotional journey with a sad ending 🙁
This game is just phenomenal, from the graphics to the gameplay and the story the game is in my opinion after playing the first a plague tale a 10/10 game, the developers listened to the communities comments on the first game and made the second game the game we all wanted I bought this on xbox, pc and ps5 just to have 3 different experiences, that’s how good this game is, highly recommended can’t praise this game enough.
Amazing game. Playing it on 4k 120 with vrr on is smooth. And with the dual sense features. It really adds that extra immersion. The devs really made a masterpiece. Definitely recommend. But play the first game
I have not yet played this however based of the previous “A Plague Tale” I am expecting this to be a phenomenal game.
