Golden Review Award: 3 From Our Usersgood power for the money
his is excellent and has exceded my expectations. very powerful blower, I’ve only used it this way as the leaves/debri have been wet. I don’t see the point of trying to suck up wet leaves when I can just blow them into a heap and shovel into bin.
I will use it on the suction when the material is dry and update my review if needed.

Good at blowing-not so good at hoovering
Really good for blowing leaves up and away. Not so good on hoovering up -especially if leaves damp. Overall recommend.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersNot as good as the previous model
I bought this to replace a previous Flymo Garden Vac I had for 26 years and used hundreds of times before the motor packed up. I decided to stick with Flymo as I expect the quality to be high (though probably not to last for 26 years!)

The previous one had a simple switch at the end of the nozzle to change from suck to blow so was very easy to use. The bag simply unclipped from the device and was easy to empty. It also had a very long lead (20m?) which allowed me to cover most of the garden.

This unit feels heavier, not as good quality and to switch from suck to blow you have to remove the bag and attach a cover over the shredder blades as well as fit a different nozzle. All this is relatively straight forward but a bit of a faff to switch over compared to the last one I had. Also, the lead is much shorter so I now have to unroll an extension lead each time I use it.

In order to empty the bag into our Green Wheelie Bin i had to remove it entirely from the device so unclip the hooks from the suction tube and remove the bag. I’ve now started to empty the bag into a trug which means I just have to unclip one hook and can leave the bag on the device. (I also suck the leaves out of the trug again which shreds them even finer and put them straight onto the garden).

I probably wont use the blower that often as its difficult to switch , I may even but just a blower.

In summary, it does what I need it for though not as easy to use, heavier and time will tell if its robust enough to last. My last Garden Vac didn’t have a shredder and this is a big plus.

Having said all this, all the other devices I considered seemed to have the same set up with regard to swapping from suck to blow.

Really pleased with this thing. I used to have a petrol version which was a pain to start and heavy to carry. This one is brilliant. The blower can be adjusted and on full power its amazingly strong. The sucker has worked great so far. I’m genuinely impressed with this and highly recommend.

    Very good value for money
The blowing power is incredible and can be increased. Easy to assemble and the suction function is also very good. There is a wide nozzle which can be a little clunky rather than a more focused, narrower nozzle. Again there are warning speeds. The power of the blower means once on, the handle doesn’t feel heavy as it neutralises the weight. Bag and strap a little fiddly to connect but not too difficult. Good munching into the bag and easily dispensable. Nice long lead attached as well. Overall 9/10 and highly recommend a purchase for a 2 in 1 blower/sucker.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThe operation of blowing and sucking requires disengaging the parts.
Remarkably powerful blower with funnelled air current which is able to blast between crevices as well as clear leaves.
Well balanced motor which is held at arm’s length with ease.
Unlike the more typical Flymos, the device cannot be converted from blow to suck with the use of a lever. The suction tube and collecting
bag can only be fitted when the blowing unit has been disconnected. I wasn’t aware of this but I have got used to it. It means that the operations
have to be carried out in two stages.

    Powerful and well made
This was a replacement for a garden vac/ blower that I’d had for 20+ years that had finally failed. This is a good product well made and easy to operate. Changing from blower to vac is a bit fiddly but can’t really fault the product.

    Impressed
This is my first leaf collector / mulcher and tried it out yesterday collecting the leaves from 3 trees to put on the compost heap. It was lightweight and easy to use. It’s pretty powerful it chopped up the odd twig on the leaf piles and has good safety cut outs. It only clogged when picking up wet leaves on the dry ones it worked a treat and was fun to use!

wish I had stuck to the old model
It does not cope with the stalks of Chestnut and Oak trees, or anything too long and fibrous the blade “cog” jams. It is not a 2 minute job to switch from blow to suck, you have to go back to the shed for the other parts and take it to bits. My last model was just a leaver to change…much easier. The bag is a fluffy fabric that makes the dried leaves stick. The zip is more like you would get on the back of a dress than a piece of garden machinery. It has to be hung up to empty. I would not buy again.

    I only paid £60
    It’s actually pretty good BUT..
Changing it from suck to blow is time consuming you have to unscrew the black pipe chamber to fit the other one on.
Would I buy it again ?
Yes however if they did one at 20 that was more simple to change between setting would I pay it ?
    Heck yes !!
It doesn’t like sucking up freshly cut grass.

    Decent uni
Decent lightweight unit woth good suction but suction pipe too long and end should be slanted/bevelled so it can be held at a practical, comfortable, angled height about the waist. I have to lift to chest height so end of pipe achieves good suction over/above debris.

    Good blower and suctio
My last one worked hard for many years, not sure this one will. My only criticism is I fear the zip on the bag will not last long, as it jams up with debris and is bit faffy.

    Picks up well.
I sued this in the autumn when the leaves were falling. It picks up well and did not get jammed at all. I don’t think I would risk using it when the leaves are wet as I am sure it would jam up.
The blower has a good strength to it.
Easy to use but can start to feel a little heavy after a bit- this would be no problem for you stronger guys!

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersWorks great but I wish it came with an Ox to pull i
I got this to pick up leaf debris from my artificial grass.

It is extremely easy to assemble and get it working. A few clicks here and there and everything is in place. The instruction manual is clear and simple, and there really isn’t much to figure out. I had it out of the box and turned on in around 5 minutes. The cable is far longer than most people could need.

The suction is great, it picks up everything from leaves to small twigs, but doesn’t try to suck up the artificial grass.

Its great that it shreds everything that it sucks up, turning all debris in to confetti pieces. This makes it really easy to empty in to the garden waste bin.

    I have only two gripes.

Firstly, a minor concern with the quality of the bag that everything is collected in to. It seemed to be poorly stitched together, with large amount of fraying around the edges. But nothing is ripped or coming undone, so for now it just seems like a cosmetic issue.

The larger issue is with the weight. Why does this not come with wheels? I know you can buy separately, but I can’t imagine anyone not needing them included from the start. I only have a tiny 25 square metre lawn, and I am a well built young guy, but after one session with this I felt like I had done a full workout. Definitely not suitable without wheels for most people.

    Difficult to disassemble.
Overall it’s not a bad product but it is extremely noisy and it is very difficult to disassemble when converting from suction to blowing; the main grey tube is almost welded tight to the motor unit and it requires two people to unscrew it. No a happy situation.

    Useful tool in the Autumn.
Suction power is just enough not to suck up any pebbles only leaves and small twigs. The blower is very powerful and ideal for blowing the leaves in one area to be collected or mulched with the suction tool. Changing from blower to suction or visa-versa is a little fiddly until you get used to it. The mulcher reduces the leaves to mulch considerably.

    Very noisy
I haven’t used the blower on this item as yet but found that the suction for picking up leaves was not that great even when turned up to full power. It does its job but I found that because it’s so noisy especially on high power you are rushing and want to turn it off. I don’t know if it’s that heavy or not. I don’t find it too bad, but possibly wheels might have been the answer. Would I recommend buying this Flymo. For the price Yes, but I think there are better ones out there. Of course that means paying a little extra.

Golden Review Award: 14 From Our UsersA great tool but not for the faint-hearted!
A really good product which does the job very well. It has more ‘blow’ than ‘suck’ but I guess that’s just a feature designed into it to stop it picking up pebbles, garden ornaments, small dogs etc and digesting them! It comes with a shoulder strap to help support its weight – be warned it’s not for the elderly or frail as it’s quite a chunky bit of kit. So far I’m pretty impressed but I would stress that it’s very early days as yet so can’t comment on its long-term durability.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our Usersgood but not variable speed
It works very well but does NOT have a variable speed option. The model with a V after the 3000 has a switchable speed option, which is not really variable and appears not to be available. I have a pea beach drive and sucking up the stones would ruin the impeller quickly. This is made of nylon rather than metal. To get round this I will have to blow the leaves etc onto grass before sucking it into the bag, which should be larger than it is. My old Flymo was fixed speed too but had a slower speed to avoid gravel pick up. It could also be switched between blow and suck with a simple switch. That is progess for you!

Cannot be used for clearing wet leaves.
I have only been able to use this garden powervac once as at this time of year there is a lot of damp weather, so I am still having to pick up the leaves with an old fashioned garden rake on the garden and brush them up on the paths. It is also very heavy and cumbersome to use when there is ideal weather conditions for it.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThe blower is really powerful
This can both blow and suck up leaves. The blower is really powerful and I tend to use this more than anything. It’s great, especially for getting leaves off the decking, even wet leaves. It even blasts the debris away from between the decking boards.
The leaf sucker is ok, but just not as good as an older version of the flymo leaf sucker I used to have (which didn’t blow leaves, it just sucked). This one does, however, mulch the leaves, which the old one didn’t.
I hear it’s a good idea to make sure mice don’t get to the (very expensive to replace) cloth collection bag. I keep mine in a mouse-proof container. Let’s hope they don’t chew the cord. There is plenty of cord and mine also came with an extension cable, so no problems getting to all parts of the garden.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersNot disappointed - great price and performance!
This is my first leaf blower and after doing a fair amount of research I decided on this model. I felt it hit the right balance between price and performance and I’m not disappointed.

After cutting back our wayward hedges, I’m always shocked at just how much clearing up there is. After picking up the larger pieces by hand I was able to blow the remaining cuttings VERY quickly into a manageable pile. It made such light work of it I’m actually looking forward to using it again.

The vacuum worked well enough and I was able to successfully deal with a large proportion of the leaves that were left. It grinds them into a fine powder and makes quite a mess – so think twice before using it in your best clothes and shoes. No tuxedos!

I’m happy to recommend this as it both sucks and blows superbly.
