Bought to go in my mountain climbing bag as an an emergency tool. Have used it a little bit round the house, it seems to do the job properly although not very sharp. Haven’t used it an emergency situation yet hopefully will not need to.
Excellent piece of kit for when working off ladders. Opens easily with right hand, not so much with left due to the placing of the clip. But it’s got to go somewhere and in itself is also especially useful. Only downside is I do have to keep sharpening it but that may be due to the abuse I put it through.
Perfect size for pocket. Sturdy and well balanced, with a robust locking mechanism.
Had is a while now. It’s true you can’t carry this around in the UK without a legitimate reason as it can lock properly. I suggest you keep a piece of wood with you and say you’re whittling. Obviously, if you take this up in the mountains / forests, it’s a given why you’d need it.
The lock is good; easy to open it. The knife is easy to sharpen with a ceramic sharpener. I have no regrets buying it.
Looks nice. But little fiddly to get the knife in and out.
loved this product, got it to replace my work knife i’d had for many years. small, lightweight and razor sharp excectly what i needed…
Maybe small, but very sharp i use it for cutting steak into strips when making a beef curry.
What’s not to like! Quality always shows through, from the satin finished frame and blade to the sturdy yet easy locking blade. Wish I’d bought one ages ago. I use it all day at work and as yet I’ve no need to sharpen the blade. It looks nice and fits nicely in my tool pocket. BUY ONE NOW!
The knife came in a really nice box, it’s a little too big for the knife but it looks good, far better than the blister pack I’ve seen them in. I am impressed with the way it looks & feels, the weight is light but it feels well made & sturdy. I don’t know how it would hold up for camping & survival type activities but for the types of tasks I have won’t be too taxing on the knife. The knife opens smoothly & closes the same, downside is that Gerber use NASTY PLASTIC WASHES between the blade & frame on this knife! The price is very good, at 19.99 I can’t complain (only about the NASTY PLASTIC WASHES). I gave it a 4 star rating because I don’t know over a long period how it will hold up; to be honest I can see this lasting me for years & I really hope it does, it’s a great looking knife. It fits in the pocket well, not that I will be carrying this outside of the house, it isn’t UK legal to carry, KEEP THIS IN MIND! It fits in the hand nicely, it isn’t too big or too small. Part of the handle locks the blade & it does a great job. You push that part of the handle outwards to fold the blade back in (you can see this on the video). No concerns as yet, hopefully won’t be any. Checkout My photos & video of the product.
I had this before and lost it. I was impressed by build quality so I bought it again. Great pocket knife for its price range.
Needs a knife that was quality and easy to open. Having lost the tips of my fingers and not having any nails can’t open a conventional knife.
Fantastic all round
Great little knife I find it easy enough to open and close one handed. sharpe stright from box. Nice and light and thin. fits in my work trouser pockets perfectly, belt clip is strong and holds knife in place.
NOT LEGAL IN UK for EDC unless you can justify for work reasons as the blade locks when open.
Great quality reasonable price
I really tried to find a fault with this Beautiful Knife but I failed,it is QUALITY every little thing,I love it.
Good cheap knife useful around the house and in the toolbox. It’s a locking knife so not legal to casually carry around but if you have one in your toolbox it will not be an issue, and useful quality tool to have!
Shame it doesn’t mention that these knives are illegal in public places in UK due to locking blade
Bought this as always used Opinel but wanted something sleeker. Its a superb knife – sturdy and has held its edge very well. Easily used with one hand too. Love it.
Bought this to take camping, great light but string knife.
Rating the seller – not the knife itself. As it’s a genuine Geber (plenty of replicas being sold) I have no complaints.
Mildly annoying. The reason I didn’t give it a 5 was the locking bar. When closed it is part of the frame and as such it fits well, when it crosses over to lock the blade it leaves a sharp little point that I find I catch with the tip of my thumb.
I’ve only had it a day so other than a little play around and sharpness tests I can’t really determine it’s reliability long term, but I’m hopeful.
It tends to go blunt quick just from light tasks like cutting tape (i use it most days so it may just be me) but all in all its a good knife if you sharpen i
I always research the best value for price before buying anything.
I did, got this, and it is.
Sharp, simple, elegant, perfect for out door activities or EDC.
FYI: These are not UK legal.
I got this as a general purpose handy knife which is what it is. The blade is razor sharp and the knife is of solid construction. It locks out and the release mechanism is sturdy and requires a decent amount of pressure before allowing the blade to fold. It can be opened and closed with one hand but not too easily which is what I would expect. For the price it’s a good pocket knife I would buy it again. I wouldnt expect anything less from Gerber.
Build well, lightweight and easy to open. Good value for money compared to some other brands.
Great knife, the skeleton gram is comfortable, blade is sturdy. The lock mechanism is a touch stiff, but that adds to the sturdiness.
The blade is beautifully sharp and holds an edge really well, as you would expect from Gerber.
