GHD rules
I got these on Prime day and thought they would make a good present for my daughter’s birthday but she eyeballed them through my account as soon as I ordered them! GHD products have never left me down.

I read some reviews saying that people did not think this was a Genuine ghd product, I brought them on prime day and checked the order was fulfilled by amazon, on ghd’s official website they are a official stockists on receiving them I went to ghd’s official website and registered for my warranty you enter what they call the date code that is on the hair straighter that’s it , then they email you back confirming your warranty and they include the code that is on your hologram label just check it’s correct this is the exact procedure as when you buy direct from ghd themselves. Good straighteners with the handy cut off after 30 minutes
GHD's what's not to like
Great product from GHD, does not dry your hair out, leaves it lovely and smooth, after suffering frozen shoulder for the past two years and unable to lift my arms up I bought them to make it easier for my husband to style my hair for me.
Recently purchased these with the Amazon Prime sale offer. Was worried with the reviews of them being fake but mine was original and have registered them with GHD for the warranty. The straighteners were new and boxed properly, did have some marks on the straighteners though but for the price a slight scratch mark is nothing to worry about. So far have worked fine and straightened my hair lovely and made it feel a lot more silkier and glossy. Very happy with them.

Genuine and quality GHDs
Product is genuine (checked the number on the label on the GHD website), bought to replace my existing GHDs which were over ten years old. Love that they turn off after 30 mins for peace of mind. I think we’ve all had that moment when we panic that we didn’t turn the straighteners off!!
Straightens and smooths my thick hair quickly and heats up quickly too. I like the sound it makes to let you know its reached its temperature as well as the flashing LED.

Probably better product available
I ordered the same GHD to replace the model I have had for about 5 years as I felt they were not heating as well as they used to.
The new ones don’t really seem any better.
I don’t have very long hair and I don’t like it poker straight so they are enough to iron any kinks out. Probably should have stuck with my old ones and saved some money

Does the job
Bought these to replace my old ones which had broke. They heat up in 30 seconds and beep when ready.
The heat output is 185c, which is less than my originals which were 200c but still do a good job.

The ceramic plates eventually chipped on the edges but that’s due to me dropping them on my hard floor.

These are absolutely brilliant straighteners. Just had to replace them after 10 years of daily use! Great quality for the price. I have taken them on my travels everywhere in my suitcase. Highly recommend them.
I got this during prime day and was a small bit concerned by some reviews that its a fake? well maybe an older model or something but is a genuine GHD that I was able to register on the GHD site. so no complaints there.
As for the effectiveness of this straightener- GHD is simply the best brand of hair straighter. I have been using them pretty much every day for 15 years and this is my third one- so they last for ages. and even if they break there are places to get them repaired. so i have one that i leave at the gym too. I can do curls and flicks etc but it has my medium length hair straightened quickly with minimal flyaways and frizz. a heat protect spray is a must and any heat damage to my hair is my own fault for using them too much! 🙂

I only read the reviews after I had ordered this item, there were a lot of negative comments, some stating fake and reconditioned!! therefore I was understandably worried. I today collected my straighteners from pick up point I had ordered them less than 24hours ago, well pleased! They are in excellent new condition, work well AND I have registered them on the official GHD website with no problem. Please don’t take heed of the negative comments on here. Excellent service!!!
By far the best straighteners I’ve ever used. Had these for years, took good care of them and treated then as my most prized possession, was gutted when they were robbed in a house burglarly and ended up using some cheapy ones for a while, really came to appreciate what I had.
Finally got the money together to get another pair and I’ve fell in love all over again, would not buy any other straighteners, my mum has the more glossy version (the latest I forgot what it’s called) of GHDe but I don’t find them working as well as these for curling!
My first pair lasted me for 8 years and were still going strong when I lost them, would recommend to anyone looking for curly/wavy hair styles!
Great item - works really well
Bought as a present for my sister on the recommendation of professional hairdresser. Worlds apart from the cheaper stylers she was using before that took ages to not do a good job. Her hair is naturally very wavy/curly and these straighten it out very easily and quickly and do no damage to her hair. Would buy again.
Having used ghd straighteners for the past 8 years I can confirm that these are the genuine article (contrary to what some reviewers are claiming that they aren’t). The ghd straighteners all come with a holographic label on the cord with details of how to register your product with ghd and a unique serial number for your item.
As instructed by my hairdresser, I use my straighteners for two years and then replace them. Yes the ghd straighteners last far longer than that (I have a pair I use when I travel which I’ve had about 5 years now) however they are electrical items and I’m not going to iron my hair regularly with an old electrical appliance.
I bought these during the Black Friday sales so was very happy with the price saving. I have no complaints with these straighteners. They heat up quickly and the red light flashes continuously when they’re ready to use. I appreciate this flashing light as it’s a good visual reminder to switch them off when I’m finished using them. They are great for straightening or creating curls and easy to use. Never had a problem with ghd straighteners. Yes they’re more pricey than other brands however I’m willing to pay for a quality brand.
I purchased these after my previous pair of straighteners broke before Christmas. I had been happy with my previous pair (Nicky Clarke) but as soon as I used my new GHD straighteners I realised what I had been missing! The ghd straighteners warm up really quickly and work like a dream. Not only do they straighten my hair really quickly, meaning less contact with heat for my hair, they also work so much better. After using them my hair is smooth, shiny and beautifully straight .I have read some comments on amazon about fake ghd s being sold . Well, these are far too good to be fakes and anyway I registered them on the ghd website with absolutely no problems using the details on the label. Would highly recommend these straighteners, I am certainly really pleased I chose them.

I’m very late to the party with these, and actually bought them for my daughters birthday(who has very long untamable curls) , and now we both use them-never believed they could be this good. Best straightens you'll ever ow
GHD classic. You cannot go wrong. I have had a couple of pairs of the more recent (5th) generation but I personally believe that this pair is the best. They do the job fantastically and speaking from experience they last for years. Maybe a little pricey but you definitely won’t find a better pair than this!
Classy Straightners
I have never owned a pair of GHD’s before. A friend told me they are worth the money and are better than most other straighteners. I was doubtful but have to say I’m so glad I bought them. They heat up really quickly, glide through your hair and my hair really does stay straighter for longer. With a 2 year guarantee you can’t go wrong

I bought these based on a recommendation from a friend. I was sick of other straighteners that just didn’t do the job and/of would break after a short while.
These straighten my hair so quickly (I have a blunt Bob haircut) and leave it looking perfectly smooth and silky.
Was hesitant to order – have been managing just fine with a different brand for the past 5 years since my last GHD’S broke…..or so I thought! Thrilled to have the real deal again, they definitely live up to the hype. I didn’t use them for a few days after they arrived as I was so nervous incase they let me down!! But I finally took the plunge and woohoo, all is well!! Takes about a quarter of the time and the results last until next hair wash, fab. Genuine article. Chose to order from Amazon due to great returns policy. However, return service not required, will be keeping and am happy to have GHD’s back in my life! But come on GHD, do the decent thing and throw in a free mat – 5 stars if you do!!

As far as the ghd being genuine and effective, it seems to be working well and is definitely genuine. My last ghd (which I was given as a birthday in Australia) gave in after 11 years, so I just hope it lasts as long….time will tell!
As for the price, I think Amazon have a terrible price ethic. It was supposedly reduced originally from 109 to “99” but as of now I can see it has been reduced again to 84. This I found cheated by as I have literally just bought it.

Firstly if anyone has any doubts from all the negative reviews about authenticity they need not worry. These GHD stylers are 100% authentic bought from amazon. I have registered today with Ghd with no issues what so ever. This is the 3rd time I have bought Ghd products from Amazon (straighteners,hairdryer and curlers) and all the products are genuine and brand new. I love ghd products and personally think they are the best on the market, these came boxed and in perfect condition. Safe to say I love my new straighteners
This is my second straighteners from GHD.
My last pair lasted 10 years, and broke when dropped (the clip for the plate broke and so the plat dangled out of the straighteners).
This model is nicer and easier to hold. Slightly better straightening (noticed they straighten quicker but not sure if that’s because the others were old and these are new or due to being a different model).
My only issue is the plug, it’s a slimmer version which makes it difficult to grip to unplug from the wall.
Had a pair of these for over 10 years until they finally just switched off for good. I didn’t see the point in buying the super duper version as I don’t curl (although these do curl quite well) and I don’t do fancy stuff with my hair, it just needs to be straight. These were reduced on Prime Day so it seemed perfect timing to solve my dilemma of frizzy hair and no straighteners. They work as well as, if not better than, the old ones and heat up very quickly, hair is smooth again in no time.
I use this straightener for some time now and I think it’s high time to share my excitement . My hair is extremely long, extremely fizzy, blond and hard to manage. Since I got this product , everything changed. My hair is divine! I need a maximum of 10 minutes to stile it and i am always having salon hair. I get constant compliments of how great it is. my hairdresser has noticed that my hair grows significantly. And although we live on the sea where humidityis high, this press makes my hair silky and smooth without fuzziness I recommend it to all myfriends because this is definitely the best investment you can make for your hair!!!

Always GHD for me.
Great design, great performance, great price, everything you want from a product you will use every day. I have incredibly thick and frizzy hair and with these I have never had any problems getting a perfect finish. My last pair lasted me 10 years and they were only damaged through my own fault so anyone that thinks they are a little pricey consider how often you use them and how long they actually last.
My first ghds (recommended by lot of users including hairdresser) so went for the ‘original’ rather than the more expensive models, offer price meant not much more than other brands. Quick delivery, obviously new, in box as seen elsewhere, registered with ghd as directed using code from hologram label and on product itself. Quick to heat up, I knew there was no variable temperature option as that is the ghd design. More weighty than my previous ones, smoothes hair better and style stays for longer.
I can only imagine that the reviewers complaining of fake items have bought from a third party seller not Amazon direct – there’s a couple of ‘odd’ offers down the product details page, they’re badly written and don’t seem like Amazon offers.

My old ghd straightener stopped working after 10 years of regular use! Ordered the same one which arrived the next day. It’s exactly the same except there’s a beep when turned on and another when it’s warmed up! Hoping this one will last another 10 years as I really can’t do without it!
My life likes them
Bought as a gift for my wife.she used them everyday and these have not let her down once. She says she’s never go back to cheap straightener now so guess that’s a good indicator of the end result from this Product!
Quality well made and durable style
Bought this a gift for a loved one and she loves it. it automaticly stops heating if left for a period of time and is well made strong plastic and hard smooth cermaics ensure its well able to stand up to many years of useage people who buy these know that they last years. it really is an investment and who better to invest in than yourself why not.

The best hair straighteners I’ve ever used. I use them around 3 times a week and they always leave my hair smooth and soft without being frazzled.
They heat up in 30 seconds and have a really long cord which makes them easy to use. I would recommend these to anyone.
I don’t know why there are comments about them being fake- if they are fake (which I doubt) you 100% cannot tell, they work just as well or even better as any GHD’s I’ve had in a salon! I’m so glad I got these!

I realised I haven’t reviewed my beloved GHD’s despite buying them in 2009! They are super hair straighteners and I could not be without them.
Before having these, I had tried two different and cheaper brands thinking that I couldn’t justify to myself spending so much money on straighteners and also questioned how different could they be – surely all straighteners are the same? Well the first pair I purchased were hopeless and I had to buy another which only lasted about 15 months or so. Then I invested in GHDs and realised that all straighteners are not the same!
Not only have these lasted me 8 years (and still in perfect working order) but they also straighten my hair more quickly (only one application on each section of hair rather than repeatedly going over the same section).
I use a heat protection spray (various brands – usually whatever is on special offer) and my hairdresser says my hair (which is halfway down my back) is in excellent condition and is not being damaged by regular GHD usage (admittedly I don’t use harsh chemical dyes on my hair).
I am sure that at some point my GHDs will stop working and when that happens I will not hesitate to purchase another pair from Amazon.
There is nothing better then a GHD I have tried a lot of straightners in my time and you really do pay for what you get. They cost a lot but worth the money as they will last a long time

I bought these back in 2010 and they are still in good condition. I use them every day and I dropped them a few times. I also forgot to switch them off a few times, they have and automatic power off mechanism. I am still happy. After using them everyday I don’t feel my hair has burnt or anything. I have to say I don’t use them to pocker straight, only just to give my hair some good shape. I never had others but the result is good and I think its worth to buy a good quality styler like this.

I bought these as a replacement for the same GHDs that I have had for over 3 years. For anyone unsure about buying these I promise you you won’t find a better hair straightener. My hair is like ringlets and they make my hair go dead straight! Would not hesitate to recommend these at all.

I’m a bloke with short hair, so obviously didn’t buy these for me, neither do I claim to know a great deal about hair styling, I don’t even own a hairdryer. However, I have given these as presents to several people now and they all love them. They seem to last very well, as the first ghd straighteners I bought are still in good use 10 years later! That means they are less than 10 a year which is much cheaper than some of the cheap crap you can get!

After purchasing these for my partner & I, I can now honestly say these are a worthwhile purchase.
They heat up incredibly fast, allowing for last minute straightening nightmares to be a thing of the past, they are constructed of high quality materials which is a must for a product such as these ( given the intense heat! )
We both now wouldn’t go back to cheaper off brand alternatives and would definitely consider another pair should these ever fail.

I have just updated my ghd’s, my last set which are still in working order have lasted for 10 years, but my daughter broke hers (not ghd’s) and she borrowed mine so I told her to keep them and treated myself to new ones. I did say to my hairdresser that I thought my hair looks shinier and he said that’s possible as the new ones have improved in 10 years!!! , Delighted with them, I like to buzz to tell you when they are ready and they don’t take long to heat up and I have glossier hair!
Fab straighteners
Fab straighteners as you would expect from GHD. The heat up really quickly. Unfortunately my hair is really thick and I bought these to replace my wide plates that died after years of faithful use. That was a mistake as these are not as good on my hair as the wider ones. If you have normal hair they will be perfect. If you have thick curly hair go for wide plates.
Real not fake
I bought another pair of these as my original GHDs which had lasted me about 10 years finally died. I was unsure at first due to the reviews of these not being real but I ordered them anyway (they were only 1 cheaper than the official GHD website but I wanted them next day – Prime)
I was dubious when I opened them as they didn’t seem the same as my original pair- they felt a bit lighter and there was no hologram on the arm, only on the cord tag, and the plug was different. However I managed to register them on he GHD website fine so they are real. They must have just changed them a little since I bought my last pair.
They don’t seem as hot as my old ones but still do the trick, very happy overall.

Brillaint product, heats up very fast. My hair has never been so straight! I’ve wanted a pair of these for years and lucky for me I got a huge discount thanks to Black Friday! It use to take nearly 40 minutes to straighten my hair but with these ghd’s it takes 15-20 minutes! Absaloutly fabulous! I would certainly recommend buying these straightners 🙂
Fab straighteners
This is a replacement for my old one which lasted for years until I left it on and the plastic coating on the wire snapped and the wire sparked. Even then, it still worked and could be repaired. Price was good and GHD have improved them – they beep to show they’re ready and turn themselves off if left on so are better than my old pair. Hope they last me as long as the other pair. Have only ever had GHD’s so can’t compare with other brands but I love them!
Amazing hair styling product!
I bought these GHD’s back in September 2009 (So amazon just reminded me when i clicked on the page – has it really been that long!?) and mine still work perfectly. Okay they have some obvious wear and tear on them, but for the first few years i was literally using them every day!
They work perfectly for straightening, curling, waving everything! I used to have shortish hair (bob style) so i bought the thin ones as they were easier to style with, but since my hair has grown out i could probably get away with the wider plated ones, but i would still buy these. I use them for curling my hair a few times a year for special occasions, or just lightly trying to straighten my hair to reduce the frizz, or for fully straightening my hair. I also have some hair extention clip in’s and these work amazingly on those without ruining them!
They may seem like a lot of money to fork out in one go, but at the price they are currently, i am extremely tempted to buy myself a new pair even though mine still work, knowing i have already had 6 years out of them and can no doubt get a fair bit more wear out of them, which is surprising considering mine have accidentally gotten wet on the occasion when drinks were spilt (oops!). For this i would scrap spending 10-30 on a cheap pair of hair straigteners that you will no doubt need to replace every 6months to a year, and go with these which last a very long time!
There are so many tutorials online on youtube etc to help you with how to use these straighteners for hair curling, to save you forking out on a curling tong as well! They make beautiful tight ringlets or big bold waves and everything in between!
I would never try any other brand of hair straightener. My cousin who is a hair dresser also swears by them, as do most of the other females in my family who style their hair.

Had this original styler a few years ago and when they got old I tried the newer model of the ghd eclipse. I had to exchange the Eclipse model 3 times. I have given up and gone back to this original ghd IV and am extremely happy with the heating, the speed and the plates grip properly unlike the Eclipse which doesn’t seem as good. Happily recommend. Also, easy to track order and received by quick friendly delivery. Good service Amazon!
Ghd IV Style
I ordered another styler as the one I have been using for 7 odd years, the lead had worked slightly loose and trying to get a ghd electrician was hard to find, hence bought new one. The new one doesn’t heat as good as the old one, perhaps with the new introductory safety measures installed – this is the reason. I did register the styler with ghd which was easy. I do hope this new one will be as good as the old one lasted.
Would strongly recommend buying these.
My old faithful GHD’s stopped working after over 8yrs continuous use so I knew only another pair of GHD straighteners was what I would purchase. I looked around and these were the best value for money anywhere. I read the reviews and was slightly worried about fakes but I trust in Amazon so took the plunge. I chose the postage free option and was prepared to wait 5-7 days but was delighted when they arrived less than 2 days later. They are not fakes and they are just as good as my old ones, they heat up in seconds and straighten my hair perfectly in no time and I love the added feature of a self turn off in case I forget. I would highly recommend these GHD’s!
How do they make them so good?
I found it hard to spend this sort of money on myself but I’m so glad I did. How do they do it? ghd beats others I’ve had by miles. Light and easy to handle and much better results than ever before. It really is proof that paying more in this case is well worth it. The cable is super long and the heating up time is very fast. The packing was sturdy and they arrived a day earlier than predicted. I am very, very pleased with this purchase and would urge doubters to try them.

Bought these as my first pair of ghds and I’m not at all disappointed. They are pricey but are worth every penny.when turned on they make a little noise so you know they are on then a matter of seconds they heat up and make another noise to tell you they are ready for action.
They are so super easy to use and can straighten my hair beautifully in a fraction of the time it took me to do a mediocre job with my old straighteners.
They make my hair feel super soft and glossy looking.
What a difference a pair of a pair of ghds can do to my hair is unreal. I haven’t tried I curl my hair with them yet but I am super excited to try.

Having broken my last pair after 7-8 years I was pleased to see the price has dropped since I bought my first pair. Still a fair amount of money to spend however you really do get what you pay for.
Arrived quickly and in good condition. They really are the only straighteners to buy. They last for years and although I have now noticed that my old pair were losing their power compared to the new ones, they still did the job after years.
Short and curlies
I bought this item because I hoped it would work as a straightener or curler for my short (3 – 4 inch) tough hair. Most of the reviews and YouTube videos are for long hair and so I can add that the styler does what I want on my hair, partly because the tongs are narrower than most other straighteners. It heats up in the time it takes to spray on a heat-protecting liquid and announces when it is ready with a little bleep. I then take a section of hair between the blades and curl it quite hard around them, holding it for a few seconds before releasing. The result is curls which I then break up a little with my fingers to appear more natural. This has been easier than with a curling wand and the curls have withstood recent winds as well as reducing the need for products to keep the look. As for registration: I had a problem with making the GHD website accept the product/hologram code but I typed in as much as it would take and added the date code. I then optimistically clicked “submit” and up came another form with separate spaces for the hologram code which then went through. It is important to register as there seem to be fakes around and, also, any firm needs to contact owners for recall of a product if it develops a fault which affects safety.
After standing on my old Remington straighteners and breaking them, I decided to upgrade to GHDs. I was keen to get the best price so I waited for ages until these went down to 79.99. I was so chuffed with this price until I went onto the official GHD website and realised they were the same price there and if I’d bought them there I could have used my Unidays account to get another 20% off!!!
The straighteners themselves are good but I have to say there’s not a huge amount of difference between them and my 20 Remington ones.
Overall I would say go for these if you have the money but if you don’t, you won’t be missing out on much by buying a cheaper pair ( I recommend the Remington S3500 Ceramic Straight 230 Hair Straightener).
However, just shop around to make sure you get the best price!

Fabulous hair straighteners, had a few hair straighteners and not one of them match this one. So easy and quick to use, would recommend to anyone. I use with a heat protection spray and the results are polka straight and found they really show my layers nicely with having a really good cut last time. You must buy these, do not hesitate as they are the cheapest, I have done my research and looked everywhere and this is the cheapest for exactly the same product. BUY BUY BUY

I bought these for my partner to replace her old pair of GHD (ten years old!). It turns out that these are the only brand worth buying, so if your loved one has asked you for a pair of hair straighteners, buy a pair of GHD’s. There may well be cheaper straighteners on the market but they will not satisfy (be warned). they also turn off automatically after a while, so there are no more return trips to the house to check that they’re off.

My last ones broke, to make these last longer I’ve stopped wrapping the wire around them, which can damage the internal connections.
Brilliant straighteners!
I brought these GHD’s because they were a lot cheaper than what other places were selling them for. I have had them over a year now and they are still going strong! I have fine hair but a lot of it, so this was the perfect straightener for me. It heats up very quickly and even beeps when the straightener is read to use, if left on longer than half an hour it will automatically switch off which is great! They straighten my hair very nicely and my hair stays straight throughout the whole day or night! Would defiantly recommend!
I had heard all the hype over the GHD straighteners and as I had gone through quite a few cheaper models with no luck, I thought the time had come to pay the extra and go for what everyone said was a great model. My hair is quite thick so I needed a straightener that would do the job quickly and without having to repeat over and over to get the straight look. This heats up within seconds and is ready to go. You can feel the heat when you go to straighten and yes, it does exactly that – it straightens with no fuss. A wonderful sleek look which was exactly what I was looking for, plus your hair feels soft when you finish. Another treat – I’ve found my hair is still straight the next day! I wish I had splurged ages ago and bought these, It would have saved many bad hair days.

I absolutely love this thing!!! Best purchase ever!! I have dark annoying thick hair, I’m asian and so a lion’s mane look after hair drying isn’t the best :/ After using this ghd, I would NEVER turn back to a normal straightener! I bought this in Feb 2011 and after a year or so bad luck for me the ghd stopped working – but without any hassle I sent it back to the manufacturers and they send me out a new one! HASSLE FREE! The 2nd one has had no problems! Think it may have been a product issue.

In the end it was easier to buy my older daughter a set to replace the set on more or less permanent borrow by her younger sister. They both love the smooth easy action of the GHD. I can’t tell, but have it on the good authority of my two daughters that they are smoother and easier to use and the finish is better than any other styler. They are not cheap by any stretch but seem very well made. I checked the styler and the packaging that arrived very carefully as there are so many fake and knock off GHD available. Many if not most can be very dangerous. My friend bought a set on a well known auction site that was a bit cheaper but they were actually fake and GHD would not service them when they started to smoke. The quality was really rubbish as the ceramic “slides” were not silky smooth and they used to singe his wife’s hair and a complete waste of money.
This is my second ghd style
I have used other stylers. The ceramic plates and the technology of the way the gdh styler heats up makes is by far the most efficient styler I have ever used. It is quick, clean, slick and easy to use for even the most undextrous. And it heats up in literally seconds. I also realise I should have replaced my old one, which was around seven years old a long time ago, as it had begun to damage my hair and now, using this brand new one, my hair is fine and with careful use, i.e. not overuse on the ends, it has never looked better.
It is expensive and for that reason I wondered about four stars but in the end decided that simply on performance it is so superior to anything else that I have tried it should get its five stars. No wonder so many other reviewers say it is ghd or nothing, it certainly is for me.
Can't live without my GHD's
GHD’s are great. Used many straighteners in the past but these have to be the best. Wish they were a bit cheaper but they are worth the price. Always bought mine when on offer so normally get it for around 10-15 cheaper but nontheless, they’re worth it. They last many years. The longest I’ve had the same pair has been 3-4 years and then I’ve passed them on to someone else who has had them for another few years. Never tried another expensive pair so can only compare it to the cheaper straighteners I’m afraid.
Only just recently started curling my hair with my GHD’s. Takes a bit of getting used to but once you know how to do it properly, its very handy (for me anyway as my curlers regularly get taken away from me by my niece).
GHD IV -
Had these for about 8 years before they failed. Then bought some cheaper Remington ones, which are not bad but after a year are starting to go on the blink a bit. However, bought some new GHDs and they arrived today and immediately on using them I remembered how good they are. They do the best job.
My hair is long – mid brown – wavey if left to dry naturally – mid thickness. These keep is straight and shiny all day and in half the time of cheaper ones. So glad that I ordered them. No problem registering them on the GHD website this morning either.

This item came very well packaged, it was exactly as I expected it would be!
The straighteners themselves are excellent, my sister has always used these and I decided to buy them because after using her ones a couple of times, GHD’s are the only straighteners I have come across that can successfully straighten my hair; my hair is very thick and wavy/curly and all other straighteners I have had (all Babyliss) cannot keep my hair straight, the slightest hint of sweat or humidity and it starts to wave, and in general just after a few hours or the wind blowing and my hair would be wavy.
But with these GHD’s my fringe is still straight even after light rain/sweat from exercise, my waves don’t dare show when I straighten it for an occassion and you can curl with these too!

OMD GHD the bes
I cannot believe I waited so long to give in and buy one of these. I suppose I thought they were a bit expensive but please don’t even consider buying a cheaper styler. This is the Rolls Royce of stylers. Worth every penny. But do buy a little carry case to go with it as that makes travelling easier – when you have used your ghd you can then pack it and leave straight away instead of worrying about a hot styler going into your luggage.
Great quality
I am very impressed with this styler. I finally made a decision to splash out not really sure what to expect but the results are truly reflective of the price you pay. The styler heats up in no time, is very light and the cable length is generous. My hair is much smoother much quicker. A number of people have commented positively on my hair since I started using this straightener, even though I had always straightened my hair before. If you are able to forgo the relatively high initial purchase cost, I would highly recommend this styler.
Still not sure
I have had GHD straighteners for years now and loved them but unfortunately dropped them and they broke so I bought these to replace them. Although everything seems more or less the same, my hair definitely doesn’t look as smooth and healthy as when I used the others. some how it looks flyaway and wispy. so I just can’t put my finger on what it is but I just don’t like them as much as my original ones.

I used two friend’s GHD stylers and the curls stayed in all day and I’d spent most of the day outdoors in windy conditions on both occasions. I bought myself a pair of cherry blossom GHD’s but they didn’t perform in the same way. This purchase is a happy compromise. The style stay in for a long while. Perhaps because my friends both bought theirs a few years ago they work differently as they are much better however this classic GHD perform better than any other styler I have had.
GHD for lovely hair!
The order came quickly, and as I live in France, I found the plug system smart! The straightener does wonders in very little time even though I have long hair,
I no longer need a brush and either a third hand to hold the mirror while doing my hair at the back of my head or twist my head and hands so as to hold brush plus hair dryer to do the back. I just hold a mirror in one hand, stand back to the mirror, and with the other hand hold the GHD which I just keep passing through my hair until it looks silky. A marvel ! Thanks GHD!

I ordered these straighteners on Boxing day evening as my others had been stolen from the gym changing room the week before. They arrived the next day – early afternoon!!!! On the 27th of December……how fantastic is that for delivery service. These are my fourth pair of GHDs and I adore them. The only reason I am on my fourth pair is due to the fact two pairs have been stolen over the years and the other pair work but not as well as they used to (they are ten years old). Have tried others but could never be without my ghds. Thanks for great product and amazing service 😉

I’ve never been a connoisseur of applying gunk to hair or using heat on hair and I guess this is why everyone says my hair is so healthy and thick. I was reluctant to buy these, but was showing off (yes, we are all guilty of this) and I already had a cheaper pair that I barely used. My hair is long and thick and I have arthritis everywhere, which means that it is hard to style my hair as my hands and arms ache after two sections. This make is tough to do much with my hair. However, these straighteners are wider and longer than usual ones, meaning I could straighten my hair in only five sections if I am really struggling. In addition to this, they beep to tell YY you have switched them on and they beep again when they are ready to use. You don’t have to wait long at all. I bought a mat so I could put them down safely. You don’t have to unplug them, just make sure you switch them off. I have used these more than I ever thought I would use any and they don’t make my hair scratty like lots of them do!

When I first read the reviews I was willing to buy a pair of ghds for my 13 year old daughter, that was until I came across some reviews where some buyers were distraught by the fact that they went authentic! I was very worried that if I ordered a pair too , my daughter would be very upset gutsy they were fake.
We received them today and found out they have verification codes which if you go on the Ghd website you will find that it tells you whether or not you ghds are real.
After being pleasantly surprised with the quality and the value. (as they are quite expensive compared to other straighteners) they heat up instantly and leave your hair soft ,straight or curly if you desire!
Overall an amazing product and worth the money, would definitely recommend!
ghd IV Straighteners
These straighteners are the best there is no doubt about that, not only do they straighten your hair quickly and easily, the style also seems to last much longer than when you use other products. They are easy to use and always give a super result. My only problem with them is they DON’T LAST! For a price of around 100 and when being used possibly four times a week max, I would expect more than two years service especially as I have always stored them correctly and followed all the other rules. I have gone through two pairs of the above in less than four years, each time they have started making crackling noises and then begun beeping all the time before they finally give up the ghost! I bought my daughter a pair with the wider plates they have also developed the same fault and are now on their last legs. Very impressed
This is my first hair straightener, so rather than risk disappointment, I did some research first and bought the best brand. I wasn’t disappointed. I have waist length hair which has gone fine and frizzy over time, resulting in damage every time I comb it through and making me reluctant to wear it loose. I takes just seven minutes to straighten it, and the result lasts until the next wash. It’s quite unbelieveably GOOD. Now I’ve got the sleeky swishy mop back I used to be so proud of. And the best thing about having straight hair is that it is so easy to care for – comb it and you’re good to go. I couldn’t be more pleased, and highly recommend this product.
Just what I needed!
I bought these for two reasons, my trusty Babyliss straighteners died and I was just about to take a trip to America. Rather than buy two pairs for the different voltages I invested in these dual voltage GHDs and am extremely pleased. Light and easy to use, heat up and cool down very quickly. Only one heat setting but they work absolutely fine on my curly hair and I find I don’t need to do it every day, unless my hair gets damp but that’s the joy of natural curls lol. Worked exactly the same on the American voltage with an adaptor for the plug. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend these if you need to replace your current straighteners. Maybe a little pricey but you get what you pay for with this type of electrical item.

It is a great hair straightener and was a really good panic buy 2 days before my girlfriends birthday! It really does a great job on my girlfriend`s hair which is very long and quite thick and leaves it looking silky and straight within minutes, It heats up crazy fast and I dnt know much about hair straighteners but I can garantee you that this product is a great purchase at a decent price!
Anyways, if your sitting there thinking “to do” or “not to do” like i was , dnt bother , just buy it .. . the person recieving this, if not you, will love it!! trust me you will not be dissapointed!

Friends have recommended GHD straighteners for years but I never really saw the point of paying extra for more expensive straighteners until I had to borrow some GHDs in a hurry…I bought these the next day!
I have that awkward combination hair – fine, but a lot of it, curly and very prone to frizz. As soon as I used these it looked sleeker and felt much softer. it only takes one go to straighten each section of hair and my fringe is now straight but without the “ironed” look I got from my previous straighteners.
They are quite lightweight and heat up within a few seconds. The lead is long enough for me to do my hair wherever it is most convenient for me rather than having to move mirrors, they have a useful cut-out feature and they cool down within a few minutes. Delivery was next day – fantastic service.
I wish I’d bought these years ago – they’re worth every penny!

I was contemplating having my hair straightening with the very expensive Yuko treatment again as my hair was getting frizzy and wavy again after a year of straight bliss, but these hair straighteners have saved me the money as my hair is now much easier to manage! I bought the GHD hair protector spray too which smell really nice and is hopefully reducing the damage.
I find these do a much better job than my previous cheap straighteners. They’re light and easy to use. They have a long cable so no straining to reach the mirror. They’re also good for adding wave and curls – check out youtube for lots of videos to show you how to use them.
I ordered these as a replacement to my old GHD’s which I’d had for over 4 years. I was a little concerned before ordering as I had read a couple of the reviews, which suggested the product was not a genuine GHD. I contacted Amazon customer services who assured me that GHD’s ordered directly from themselves and not via a marketplace trader are in fact genuine and I was also advised that they would arrive non shrink wrapped and without the security tag.
I also did a little research to find the cheapest place to buy new GHD’s. I live in France and buying directly from GHD and Amazon.fr was considerably more expensive than ordering from the UK site. Desperate to receive a replacement as my GHD’s broke on Friday, I ordered the new ones on Friday morning and opted for the express delivery. I received the new GHD’s in France on Monday lunchtime. I have already tried the new GHD’s and these work as well if not better than my last pair.

As I already have straight hair, I was looking for something to create marvellous ringlets without burning my long hair to a frizz – it’s in pretty good condition right now. My hairdresser, along with other hairdressers I spoke to, strongly recommended the GHD straightener and demonstrated the lovely, easy to do ringlets. (after applying a heat protector spray!) I am delighted with the item and would recommend it, although, it is rather pricey.

Having craved GHD’s for many years i finally took the plunge during the sales and with 20 off it certainly makes it all the sweeter. They arrived very quickly despite telling me the estimated delivery date was Jan 5th they arrived on Dec 31st! They look great but more importantly having just tried them out i actually do look like i’ve stepped out of the salon and thats despite me thinking 2 days ago that i could probably do with a trim! Having had other makes of starightners in the past i am so glad that i finally went for it and bought the best on the market – their is a reason everyone talks about them – its because they really are the best. I would highly reccomend.
Amazing straighteners
These straighteners are AMAZING! They heat up quickly and beep to let you know they’re hot enough. “On” switch on the inside is good as my old straighteners had it on the outside and I kept accidentally turning them off! My hair is past shoulder length and is very fine but lots of it! I only have to section my hair up in 3 lots to straighten it all and it stays straight and shiney for about 3 days. Would definately recommend them.
OK, I admit I’m a straight hair obsessive. I tried very hard for years to be curly, but it never felt like me, and when I discovered GHDs in 2005 I was immediately hooked (thank you hairstylist). My Mark 3’s kept me company night and day, home work and the gym, until recently when lifestyle changes meant I had one more straightening venue to cover and I realised I needed a spare pair. I did try to be cheap. I bought some mini straighteners, but they only really ever worked for the fringe, so I soon gave up on those. So i took the plunge and invested in the Mark IVs. I am So glad I did. They’re brilliant. Light, manoeuvrable, long cord, plates don’t pinch or pull, designed so that it’s nearly impossible to burn your neck, unlike many straighteners I’ve used, lightning fast heat up, a cute beep to say theyre ready, and OMG, they SWITCH THEMSELVES OFF if theyre left for 30 min or so. My life is transformed because by the time I realise I might have left them on (tho I never have yet :)) they’ll have quietly turned themsleves off and gone back to sleep. I’m blown away by the cleverness of the marketing shift too (Straighteners that do curls, anyone??) which will undoubtedly keep sales of these things going when only I am still wearing straight hair. One day soon I’ll try the curling thing with them, but for now I’m just ecstatic to have smooth straight shiny hair, every day, wherever I start and finish. Don’t even think of trying to find a GHD substitute, just buy these. And keep your fingers crossed for me that life imitates hair in future. I’m hopeful 🙂
I was determined to grow my hair to just below chin level and have it styled in a bob. After many frustrated visits to my hairdresser as my hair has the texture of a brillo pad so therefore didn’t look right at all in the style, she used the ghd straighteners and wow! what a difference! I immediately purchased a pair but unfortunately after usung them twice they developed a fault and I had to return them. The second pair work just fine and I find them really easy to use. I have quite thick hair and although my hairdresser uses the bigger ones, I find these smaller ones are just as good and a bit easier to manage.
I now have sleek hair that I have always dreamed of having,which constantly amazes me, and everyone I know has commented on how much better it looks! Ghds are expensive but whilst waiting for the replacement straighteners I used a cheaper brand and they just didn’t do the job at all well!
I think this was money well spent.

This product is brilliant. Heats up properly and cools down when idle and does its job amazingly. My hair has never been successfully straight with other straightening products because of heating problems and the tendency of the slacks to stick to my hair. Good Xmas Prese
Ordered these for my partner for xmas as hers had just started to play up. Only ordered a week before xmas and was worried they might not arrive in time due to the poor weather and postal backlog, but thankfully arrived with a couple of days to spare. Went for these ones as was advised they were probably the best ones around. Since had this confirmed by the missus as she says they are streets ahead of her previous set (different make), heat up really quickly and she can do her hair much quicker. One word of warning though, they do get incredibly hot so be careful not to burn yourself or touch your hair staight after using them.

“You have to pay for quality” is something that gets said about a lot of things and is often a little untrue or misleading.
However, in the world of hair straighteners, it seems to be true. As a man (who doesn’t use them), I have no clue about such things, so before I would have said that you are paying for the name not the product. Having seen them in action, felt the quality and seen the results, I believe that GHD make the best straightener you can buy. They are worth the money, especially if you buy from Amazon. The GHD website charges a different amount for different countries, significantly different amounts, it is quite disgusting. Thank goodness for Amazon! I bought these from Amazon.co.uk, paid the Danish VAT (25%) and had them posted to Denmark for cheaper than the official GHD site can do it in the UK and for nearly half what the GHD Denmark site charges Danes!

I persuaded my wife to buy the supposed best rather than taking a cheaper option. She previously had a Babyliss.
I know little about hair straightening issues, as I am totally bald myself, but am able to observe the workings of a product and get feedback from my wife.
The product is well made and seems robust. The main difference between this and the Babyliss straightener was the thickness of the ceramic plates and the additional heat this straightener creates compared to the Babyliss. You will like this if you need it to get very hot to really straighten your hair although you will probably have to use a heat protection spray on your hair.
At first I think my wife was a little underwhelmed and at first I wondered if it had been worth spending almost twice as much on this product as the Babyliss. However, it is definitely the case that my wife has come to appreciate the additional quality of these straighteners over the Babyliss ones with continues use. If they last a good few years I suspect she will want another pair.
A couple of things- the power light flashes on them. At first my wife thought it was defective but it is not- I presume (without reading the instructions) it is designed to catch the eye so you do not leave them on- a good idea.
However, if you do leave them on, they eventually turn themselves off.
Also they have built in multi voltage transformer, so when you take them to a country like the US, with lower power voltage, they will still heat up to the same level.
I think you often get what you pay for, and these seem to fit into that category.

Well worth paying the express delivery as they were delivered the next day for 8am. I registered the GHDs straight away on the GHD site and were the real mccoy !!.
I have quite thick long hair, i had no problems straightenting my hair but did have to re-do it a little bit later on, if was to purchase GHD’s again i would buy the bigger plate ones but that is
only because of my thick hair – would definatley recommend them!!
GHD Straighteners
Wow, these are fantastic! My hair has never been as straight, and it takes just two or three minutes to straighten my whole head of hair.
They heat up in seconds and give an audible beep when they’ve reached temperature and also have a flashing light indicator.
Also, if like me, you have been known to (ahem) forget to switch off your straighteners, they have a great auto switch-off feature so they turn themselves off when they have been left standing for a while.
Every girl should have a set of these! Expensive, but well worth every penny.
Best straighteners EVER
I cannot fault these straighteners in any way! They are just amazing and do the job perfectly! I have tried a few different straighteners before including the babyliss thermaglass which had okayish results but did not give absolutely straight hair which is what I was looking for and took 2-5 mins to heat up. These straighteners on the other hand heat up super fast which is great when you need to get ready quickly and they give excellent straightening results with zero effort, even with my thick wavy hair. I am thoroughly impressed and will never buy a different brand of straighteners ever again! I bought my last GHDs in 2007 and they are still going strong whereas the babyliss thermaglass ones had died within a year or so (I bought this as an additional straightener as I travel back and forth from my flat near work and home all the time and had forgotten to pack my straighteners a few times). All in all I would say this is a great investment and well worth the money: excellent results, quick heat up time and they last ages!

Bought one of these for my wife for christmas……..she had ‘dropped’ one or two hints and I decided to purchase from Amazon after doing some online price checks. Well the first item never arrived..christmas arriving fast & a ‘lost’ delivery two days before the big day was causing me some serious headaches. Called Amazon customer services who confirmed a replacement would be sent & delivered in time for Christmas. Thankfully the replacement arrived on Christmas eve ( thanks Amazon cust service!). Santa kindly delivered it on Christmas day & caused a huge smile & excitement on my wifes face ( I can remember when I used to have that effect on her!) Comments – they work fantastically, heat up fast, can straighten & hold the most unruly hair & get a 10 out of 10 every time ( these are obviously my wifes comments as I do not have enough hair to try them!!) Great buy. Recommended to all..
As a black woman its often dificult to find products made for our hair type we usually have to go with the “general” products which don’t really do us any justice.
After purchasing almost 50 different straigteners just so that I could get good results and have decent looking hair I step out again and I bought this product thinking “there I go again purchasing a product that will give me mediocure service” however I am pleased to say that I shall never purchase another type of straigthener again. I wash my hair (and sisters you know how that goes sometimes) moisturize,blow dry and then sit with my miracle worker straightening peice by peice and when I am done its like I just stepped out of a saloon. lite, bouncy and straight I mean it does the job! no joke here!. even after going out in the humidity or damp weather the hair is still working it! I am singing the praises of GHD everywhere I go. its a bit pricy but its worth it!!! I would not waste my time to put this review here if it wasn’t trust me its GOOD!!.
