This reasonably powerful and small dash cam comes with good, clear instructions for fitting and installing a micro SD card (sadly not included but it can use a 32GB-128GB so you can choose how much you’d like to store).

It sticks on with a 3M type sticker – so careful you put it exactly where you want it first time. It would have been more convenient with a suction cup type fitting so it could be moved / removed easier. At least the camera itself is very easy to install and remove. There are also a few stick-on cable clips (3 in my box) but I could have really done with a couple more to keep it more tidy – I’m going to find some other method to improve this. There is also a flat tool which I think is for pushing the wire into the frame around the windshield so then perhaps more clips won’t be necessary.

The great thing about the 2cm screen is it doesn’t obscure the windshield but this means its not so easy to see detail when playing back unless you remove the microSD card from the cam and pop it into a laptop/card adapter and view on a bigger screen – but hopefully that will not be required often! This is easy enough though.
It starts recording in 3 ways
    – automatically when plugged in / when ignition is on
    – upon a bump/collision (sensitivity can be adjusted) – this includes the parking monitor
    – manually by pressing the button to start recording / take a photo

Once recorded you can see which type of video – they are names LOCK–(number) or MOVA–(number). The LOCK ones are those that are kept until manually deleted (they get that name when the recording is initiated by parking monitor or G-sensor/ bump). The others will be automatically replaced (oldest first) otherwise.

The parking monitor bit (activates when the ignition is turned off / when the power goes from the cigarette lighter socket) only works for the life of the battery which the instructions suggest would not last all night but there is an optional extra to attach to the car battery included in the instructions.

The removal of 1 star overall is because whilst it is easy to install – it could have been better with a suction cup mount and maybe a couple of extra clips to secure the cable a bit better.

Overall – for the price of around 25 (at the time of review) I think this is pretty good for a dash cam – to record your journey / maybe a tour video, and of course in case of any incidents. The parking monitor is also handy but of course only captures the direction of the camera. The cable is nice and long so should fit most vehicles and can always be tied/tidied. I haven’t’ checked the night vision yet but I did a quick trip around the block and I was impressed when watching the video back on my laptop that you can see road signs/names , number plates with enough clarity if you were to need it. It also records the sound which is also an added bonus. Very nice small camera that does the job very nicely.

Good quality images and good little features. Easy to install

I have been waiting to buy dash cam for my BMW 3 series and this one came in the list. Just installed it and it looks brilliant quality wise. It’s small and compact, doesn’t block your vision or sore to the eye when driving.

Recording quality at 1080p is very good and esp work great during night time thanks to increased colour depth and exposure.

It comes with G Sensor which record collisions immediately for your peace of mind to claim for insurance. Great guard for your car whilst parked, it detects collisions and shake whilst I tested it myself it did record the tiny movement.

Lens size is F 1.8 that records all anything in the sight however haven’t tested the distant and facial recognition but it definitely record plates from far distance.

Happy with the product and recommend it for high value for money.

First thing to note is that you need a memory card – this isn’t included so you’ll have to get one separately. When I put the card in, the camera came up with an error saying the card needed formatting, so you just go to the settings and format it (basically wiping the card).

The picture quality is very good and the camera itself seems good quality. I’m pleasantly surprised by the price, its much better than I thought it would be.

I don’t like that it’s a sticky pad rather than a suction cup, that does mean once it’s in place it’s really stuck! But I guess you could add your own suction pad if that would be a real problem for you.

Very happy with it so far, hopefully it will continue working fine but no complaints with it so far.

A great little dash cam for the price, easy to setup

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our Usershis is a 1080p dash cam, compact in size, doesn’t occupy much space on windscreen, less noticeable when placed at back of rear view mirror

it’s very easy to install, a ball mount with adhesive at the back, it sticks very securely to the windscreen, and the camera angle and level is easily adjustable

there are 4 function buttons on the right, user interface is intuitive to use, default setting is good enough for most purpose, it’s already the best setting with highest resolution

the camera has 170 view angle, covered a good view in front of the car, image is good in daytime, a it lack of detail at evening/night time

the camera will normally overwrite oldest video when storage card is full, but when the road is too bumpy or excessive shake detected, video for that period will be locked for review, it’s a nice feature to keep important when there is anything happened

all in all, i’m satisfied with this product, would recommend

    good daytime image quality

The dash cam is great, add an SD, and mount it to the car.
I was able to hide most of the wires, using the mini plastic crowbar in the interior.

The cable was too short to be able to hide into the interior of the car r?

would have liked the power cable to use a newer generation cable at present it uses a cigar lighter and USB mini (1st gen USB port)

The cigar light attachment is bulky and uses up one socket.
USB mini is old technology that is a pain to get hold of; if they used USB micro (2nd gen USB port) it is readily available in my cable draw.

The rear view cam was a mixed bag; it was easy to attach the dash cam, however, if you wanted to connect the cam to the backlight cluster, you would need to have to do some research and die (an auto electrician wanted to charge me 150 to attached cable to light cluster and mount back cam)

All in all the dash cam gives a good level of features accustom to dash am I would recommend this dashcam a hot of protection from being scammed.

    Pros
    – Front cam easy to set up
    – standard features of a dash cam
    – Added security

    Cons
    – Rear cam needs a bit more work
    – Poor choice of cable (1st gen) ( person opinion)
    – cigar lighter with one outpu

This is a good little dash cam that is great value, surprisingly good quality and easy to set up too. So the first thing I noticed when I opened this up was the size of the camera, it is really compact, we have another dash cam in another car and this one is probably about 2/3 of the size of the other which is really nice, it makes it much more discrete and less distracting will you are driving.

The camera comes with most of what you need, it comes with the bits to install it and clips to help hide the cable, although it does not include an sd card this is a little annoying as it means it doesn’t quite come with everything you need. The camera quality is good, especially considering the price, it is not incredible but it is clear. Overall for the price I think this is a good dash cam and good value but it is making some affordances to get to this price.

Super easy to set up and install in your Car. Had to buy my own memory card but they aren’t expensive. Picture quality is amazing even at night. Honesty such a good buy and value for money for what you get. Love this!

    Great little dash cam

So first thing to note, there’s no SD memory card included which you need so you can use it.

This dash cam is surprisingly quite small which is great as it doesn’t block my car windscreen when I’m driving.

Picture quality is reasonably good day or night. The Parking Monitor is an excellent feature to have if hit when the car is parked.

Downside: this is a forward facing camera so if doesn’t provide any coverage, if I were to be hit from behind.

It’s easy to install and simple to use. It’s basically a no frills dash cam.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersIt’s a very neat package that you receive when you order this dash cam. I like the look of it, it looks like a little camera it’s quite cute.
At the time of the review it’s on sale for around 27.

You will receive what is in my video a nice sized well-made little prybar to fit the cable underneath the headlining or the a pillar of your car.

The kit also includes three little self-adhesive cable clips in case you’re not able to conceal the provided cable in your car.

Also in the box you will receive a power lead with a 12 /24 v Adapter. The cable itself is approximately 343 cm long, it’s a reasonable quality and thickness what you might note is that the connection type on the camera and the connection type on the lead provided is actually a USB 2 type-b mini connection, not seen one of those for awhile.

The provider instruction booklet is fairly detailed, but it discusses things like attaching the camera with the suction pad, there isn’t a suction pad it’s double sided 3M tape, and attaching the micro USB cable, it isn’t a micro USB cable is the USB type-b mini connection.
Those issues aside, the instructions in the booklet are quite clear and detailed, and the whole of the booklet is in English, that’s 25 pages with pictures to help you with the installation.
I’m waiting for my new microSD card class 10 U3 To arrive, so I can test this out.to arrive, so I can test this out. It all seems straightforward enough.

The IIWEY even guide you to where you can buy the kit ( on Amazon ) to wire this up to enable parking guard, just search for b07q29jzzy on Amazon it’s a universal kit and costs around 13

This is a great little device, it’s very cute and compact and fits well in my car. Really easy to set up. It’s great quality. You just need to add an SD card. The attachment for the car is good quality and it looks really smart high up on the top of my window rather than the bulky ones low down. Very pleased. I have had to submit dash cam footage before to police after witnessing an accident so It’s really important to have a good quality dash cam.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersTiny dash cam, feels like good quality. Comprehensive instructions very clear and you won’t need a magnifying glass to read them, top marks for this.

I had a little problem. It’s fixed to the windscreen by sticking it, no suction cup supplied. This means that it would be permanently fixed. Couldn’t take to another car or move to another area of the windscreen. Hubby took one look at it and said it wasn’t going in his car unless it had a suction cup.

    This is what you get.
    Dash cam
Long cable with fitting for car cigarette lighter.
Flexible type mount with sticker fitted to fix to the windscreen
Three cable holders , stick on type.
A plastic pry tool with a wide side and a narrow side, I think this would be for removing the dash cam and cable holders if needed.
    Instruction booklet.

No USB cable, if you need to connect to a computer or power by USB you would need to buy a mini USB cable.
If you want to hard wire the cam you would also need a kit as none supplied.

I tested it at home using an adapter. It recorded and replayed on the screen no problem, please note that the actual screen of the camera isn’t very good quality but when you play on another device it’s very clear, with great sound if you choose to record both picture and sound.

It automatically starts recording when it’s plugged in and the ignition switched on and powers down when the ignition is switched off.

I should mention that the type of file for film is .avi this type of video plays on some devices, if it doesn’t then you will easily be able to find a player in the apps.

Four stars. I really think there should have been a choice of fixed or suction cup fixings.I

UPDATE I have now found a suction cup to fit, a spare one I had in my cupboard from an older dash cam so it will be going in the car after all.

IIWEY E01 Dash Cam Front 1080P Mini Hidden Size 2 Inch LCD Screen Small Car Dash Camera WDR Night Vision, Dashboard Recorder with 170 Wide Angle, G-sensor, Loop Recording, Parking Monitor.

This came well presented in its own box so it would make a great gift for the right person.

This dash cam has a 2″ screen with 170 wide angle, g sensor and loop recording.
It works very well with no issues.

It’s very good to have a dash cam regarding insurance, as the footage records the evidence of accidents ect which keeps insurance costs down to a minimum.

Its exactly the same as the description describes, no issues, does the job as it should.

Both myself and hubby are well happy with it and can reccomend.
    Great value for money!

    Compact size!

Got a car? Need a new dash cam?

This is the IIWEY Store Dash Cam Front 1080p Camera, 2″ Display Screen 170 Wide Angle With Night Vision, G-Sensor, Loop Recording With Parking Monitor. Requires Micro SD Card (not included).

This camera is really easy to use, it is only the front camera, so no faff installing the rear. It’s real easy to install, place passenger side near centre windscreen top, then cable manage camera (use tool provided to push cable under trim or use the small cable clips) and then power up in cigarette lighter slot.

Once installed you can set up via onscreen menus, I will recommend the following settings, I’d turn on the Parking Monitor and Motion Detection, as you never know when someone bumps yer car!
I would set the Loop Recording to 3 Min slots, as if needed it’ll be less to trawl through and Gravity Sensor Low. You can also turn off voice recording unless you want to hear your own road rage ranting.

Overall this dashboard camera set is decent, the price is really low and it is easy to use / set up. Recommended.

Nice simple easy to use / set up dash cam

This dashcam is small and discrete the picture quality is very clear and has park mode which turns on and starts recording if it detects gforce movement while car is parked. Excellent value and nice packaging. Also comes with a tool that allows you to tuck cable in to the crevice of car which makes cable hiding very easy. Would be nice if it came with a sd card. Recommend sd card size is 32gb and max is 128gb class u3

HD Clear Picture small compact size

This is probably about the 8th dashcam I have reviewed over the years so I know what I like from one these days. This one is nice and small and comes with a relatively long lead, which is good (I hate it when they barely reach the windows!) It comes with the usual car power lead (for the cigarette lighter) — shame there isn’t a USB version also. You also get a small manual (which is fairly good). Despite what other reviewers might say it DOES NOT come with a suction pad — it comes with a 3M sticky pad to attach it to your car. I really don’t like this — I much prefer the suction ones as these ones leave behind debris — you can’t clean all the rubbish off them and eventually they become useless.

You don’t get a micro-SD card with it — which is a shame as the previous Dashcam I reviewed supplied one — which I thought was a nice touch. A 32GB card is recommended (up to 128GB) — 32GB will give you approx. 5 hrs of recordings (on its highest resolution: 1080FHD 1920x 1080) before it has to loop around and record over the earlier stuff. The date needed to be changed (it was set in YYYMMDD format and was 8 months out of date – not surprisingly – but this is easy enough to change via the Menu Structure). There are 2 other — not so fine – resolution settings. The Microphone was set to Off (a little annoying — but again easy enough to change). The Date stamp was set to ON (good).

The actual quality of the video was reasonably good — in both day and night settings — not outstanding, but adequate for a dashcam of this spec and price. I’m torn between a 3 and 4 star review — I think because of its bargain price tag (around forty quid at time of press!) I will err down to the 4 stars. If however it goes up in price then you may find better models on the market.

IIWEY E01 front mounted Dash Cam comes boxed with instruction manual, power lead, mounting cup and wire tidy clips but DOES NOT come with the SD memory card needed to make it work which was a shame as you have to order this separately so it’s not able to be used as it is.

This was bought as an entry level front facing camera but when received I was surprised how small the camera and screen were. The plus points is that its unobtrusive when fitted and less distracting than a bigger camera, the screen is only 2 inches in size.

The camera is 1080P with an LCD Screen, it has a Night Vision facility with a 170 Wide Angle field of view. The recording is on a Loop Recording and it has a Parking Monitor so will activate if your car is hit when parked.

I find this is a good little camera with a sharp picture with good recording quality and is not too distracting in your windscreen. The negatives are that it only records in a forward facing manner so doesn’t record collisions to the rear of the vehicle and you need to buy an SD card separately at extra cost for it to work.

    Small but does the job.

This looks exactly as it does in the photos, so I thought I’d show you the packaging, which is important. Especially if you plan on giving it as a gift.

I got this for my husband who is a professional driver, and he was really pleased with it. It’s got night vision, 170 degree wide angle, loop recording capability (although an SD card has to be purchased separately), it has a parking monitor and G Sensor. It’s also very small, so is not intrusive and won’t ba a cause of distraction. The image is clear enough to be identifiable and it’s easy to install. It’s powered by the cigarette lighter socket or a mini USB cable.

Overall, my husband was really happy with it. I would recommend, especially with the current 50% off voucher! What a bargain!

    Handy to have in board

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersIf you’re looking for a simple small dashcam that will record whilst you drive, with functionality to record whilst parked, this is a good little product. Easy to set up and neat and relatively inconspicuous, it will aid in the event of any front facing collisions. The picture quality is good during the day and at night so for these basic uses, it’s at reasonable price point of 39.99.
There’s no SD card included, but this is fairly standard. Also, if you want continuous recording when it’s parked, you will need to buy an extra bit of kit to have it hard wired, at approximately 20. It also doesn’t have Wi-Fi, which should be in this day and age, and would give me piece of mind when the car is parked. I’ve knocked off a star for these reasons, which is a little unfair as it does not advertise this as included, but for around 10 more, you could have these features, and I would extend the budget for this.

  26. Tessa10Cnbjr says:

Very easy to set up. You will need a micro sd card for it to save the video to. Plugs into your car 12v port but you get a long wire. The device has a window suction on, it has a small but clear screen. A lot of the settings were all ready to go but you can change the resolution of the video quality and activate the g sensor and parking guard modes will record if the car gets hit or if someone walks past. I have watched the footage back and its clear and even in the dark it is clear. It will record over old footage if you want to so you don’t need to keep wiping the card when it gets full. The wide-angled lens means it picks up a lot of the road so you don’t miss recording important bits. Great value for money.
