Getting a lot of use from this. It’s well made and very sturdy. I’m only using it for deadhangs at the moment, but I feel safe on it. The folding arms are handy for storing.

In my old flat I had a beam where I could do my pullups, but I was desperate when I moved as in my new flat there was no place where I could do this. To add more, all my walls are drywall…
I was not confident buying this, but I think I did the right thing, I’m really happy with it. Thanks to other reviews, I could see that you can end up with marks on the doorframe, so that I applied some soft self adhesive padding on the parts in contact with the doorframe ( see pic). Used almost daily, I’m 176 pounds(80 kgs), works perfectly, no scratches, marks or cracks on the wall or doorframe. The handles are covered with a soft foam that will break at some moment, already thinking about adapting some better solution before this will happen.
Tip: hang gradually on the bar and try not to yank it. Always inspect the bar and the position on the frame before starting a workout.
Dirty tip: for the rest days, you can hang on the bar a swing( harness) and invite the girl next door for a kinky workout (sorry, you cannot see the pics).

    Great piece of equipme

I was sceptical about these things generally (and then putting it into the door incorrectly made me think it was a total waste of money) but I quickly got it up the right way and it’s been the best Xmas present ever. Daily use. Absolutely happy to recommend

This is hands-down the best bit of home exercise equipment I’ve bought. I was concerned that with a bar like this I would end up in a pile on the floor with bits of door frame around me. But this is honestly SO secure. It doesn’t even flinch when I’m swinging my dead weight from it.

I love that I can put it up and take it down so easily, and love the folding supports so I can tuck it right out of the way when not in use. Those supports also make it great as a push-up/dip bar.

The door protection is so simple, but brilliantly effective. It has left absolutely zero marks on my door frame.

If you’re looking for a chin-up bar, this is 100% worth the money.

This was very easy to assemble and install onto my door frame. Very sturdy, haven’t had any issues using it. I can easily take it down when it’s not in use and quickly set it back up when I’m ready to do some pull ups.

I was not expecting the bar to be so sturdy. Super easy to setup, no screws or tightening required, just hooks directly over the back frame of your door. Very intelligent design, couldn’t be simpler.

Really well designed and solidly constructed pull-up bar!!!… easy to assemble and install, doesn’t damage the doorframe (unlike others reviewed here – like a lot of people, I also put a couple of rags between the two large rubber grips and frame but up to you), brilliant customer service and all at a reasonable price too!!… this is the one to buy!!

I’ve had this two weeks. It only takes three seconds to put up, put down and fold away flat. It’s very sturdy and feels secure while you using it. There are no marks on the door frame because the rubber pads and soft plastic do their job. The way it is designed spreads the weight across two separate parts of the doorframe, reducing the strain. It’s an expensive piece of kit compared to some of the other pull up bars for sale but for me it’s worth the extra. With a dining table chair for assistance my eight year old also thinks it’s good. No faff, no marks, no broken door frame or plaster, no clutter, massive arms (well, not yet but we’ll get there).

As someone who doesn’t actively work on fitness or go to the gym, I was apprehensive about buying any new equipment for something I just wasn’t familiar with. Lots of worries flew through my mind: I didn’t know how to judge quality, I didn’t know how to fit the equipment in, I didn’t know the effect it would have on my doorway.

Magnoos’ Pull-Up Bar assuaged all of those worries. It was super easy to assemble, it feels safe and my doorway looks no worse for wear after use. On top of this, Magnoos were kind enough to send a thorough guide introducing pull-ups and chin-ups, outlining how best to start and how to improve.

Overall, cannot find fault and am really happy with my purchase.

So probably the more pricier pull up bars but to be fair it’s so easy to set up. You can put it on the door and take it off the door very easily without having to fiddle around with anything. It’s also very comfortable to use with a nice spongy bar that’s easy to grip and doesn’t make your hands slip if you’re sweating. I also like that its just above door level for that extra bit of height. Perfect for ladies!

Very happily suprised by this. I hate fixing poles to door frames and need to be able to remove it easily when visitors come round. I was worried how sturdy it would be but there is no problem there. It hangs solidly but still comes down easily and folds for storage. I like that i can do wide pull ups with it too as it is wider than the door frame.

It fulfils its purpose in its entirety: pull-ups and push-ups pose no issues whatsoever, you can overcome your initial fears as to the stability of the setup quickly. The rubber cushion to protect your door frame comes in handy.

Also, don’t be put off by its width: it fits perfectly fine on regular or even narrow door frames, only the separation distance of the two hooks matters!

Always a little hesitant when purchasing from companies that are perhaps maybe not that well known. However, I’m pleased to say that I am more than happy with this product. Instantly from removing from the packaging I was able to tell that this was a genuine piece of equipment and manufactured to a great standard.
This product is clearly a strong piece of equipment, made from heavy and robust materials. Easy to open and mount as well as dismount.
It is coated with a rugged protective coating and has great padding and support for grip.

My lockdown workouts are levelling up. Really pleased with this Magnoos pull-up bar. I’m using it for pulls as well as hangs to stretch my lower back and leg raises for abs. The design encourages you to keep good exercise form as swinging around isn’t an option.

As it’s removable and portable there was no fitting required, so no drill holes or being unable to shut a door if it’s a permanent fixture. You just need a decent doorframe – I ended up using my kitchen one as the upstairs door frame have glass panelling at the top and I’m not convinced they could handle the pressure.

    Great lockdown solutio

I’ll add my voice to the thousands of others and say this is a great bit of kit. Sturdy, space efficient, doesn’t damage doors, and easily supports me as a 6 foot 3 man. Now the gym is off limits I’m finding pull ups plus kettlebell swings (another cheap effective bit of kit) and running are just as effective, more convenient and far far cheaper. I am completely happy with this purchase and to my surprise my wife has taken to it too.

Bought this due to issues with my existing pull-up bar that sat within the door frame – grip too narrow, bar too low, head hitting top of door frame and working loose during use and causing me to have an unpleasant fall onto my back. The Magnoos is high quality, sturdy and easy to set up on the door frame (although it took me a few minutes to figure out how to open and close the arms). Nice comfy grips. There is a little downwards movement (a few mm) when the bar first takes your weight which is a little disconcerting but once into your reps it feels stable and safe. Great height for me (I am only 5′ 3″) as I can hang with arms and legs extended with my feet still a a few cm off the ground and can get my shoulders above the bar without hitting my head. Rubber feet prevent damage to paintwork. Only limitations really are that you cannot close the door with the bar in situ and that as I have non-standard door frames there are only two doors in my house that the bar will fit.

Everything I wanted out of a pull-up bar. A little more expensive than other options, but definitely worth it.

The bar sits nice and high, away from the door frame so you have full movement. The frame feels solid like it won’t come off.

No damage to the doorframe. I would recommend putting some tape over the rubber pads to prevent any marking/rubbing.

The product is great & matches the description. It functions well & feels sturdy. There is also a guide that is easy to follow. Just make sure that the door fits the dimensions mentioned. I’ve only been doing a couple of chin ups, but hopefully the door is strong enough to stand the pressure. Aside from that, the delivery is really fast & the customer service is amazing!

This pull up bar was quite expensive, but is very sturdy and feels good quality. I’ve used it almost every day since buying it several months ago during lock-down, and so far there are no signs of wear. It only takes a few seconds to fit or remove from a doorway, and it feels very secure in use. There were a couple of helpful reviews saying that the foam grips had come off the bars, as a result of which I have been quite careful with the way that I grip them, so as not to tear them. They seem to be lasting fine. There is no construction involved, other than unfolding the arms. You do have to press down two little buttons in order to do this. Overall I would say that they are quite expensive, but you get what you pay for.

This is much more substantial than I was expecting (that’s a good thing!). Great design, very easy to fit and take down again. Fitted perfectly to a door frame. My frames have small glass window panes at the top which I was afraid would be a problem but they are not. They even email you an exercise ebook. Very impressed!

Been using this bar for over a month now and I have to say, this bar is great! I was skeptical at first considering this was our first pull up bar, but with the strength gained during this lockdown, I can’t complain! Even tested with a 20+ stone individual and no damage was caused to the individual, bar or wall! Talk about an awesome product! Easy to put up and fold away when not in use. I suggest wearing gloves, as the handle padding is not the best, however, I would still recommend!

Hasn’t fallen down. My main concern was that halfway through a pull up it would fall down on me. After daily use for a month now I can say I’m very confident this won’t fall down on you. It’s very easy to put up and take down and can be stored behind a door or under a bed as it’s very small when collapsed dow

Great piece of kit. Holds on to an average sized door frame and doesn’t move during exercise. Never liked the idea of these things before, preferring something bolted to the wall, but this has changed my mind. It’s a sturdy piece of kit and a great addition to my home gym collection.

Really happy with this purchase. It folds up nicely so storage is easy… it’s built like a tank so no concerns it may break. Also I love the way it attaches to the door frame, I don’t feel there’s any risk of doing any damage, or of the bar coming off the wall.

    It doesn’t magically make chin-ups easy though I’m afraid… 🙂

First thing taking this out of the box is how strong and sturdy the build is. Before even putting it on the door you can feel there’s no flex or weakness. Setting it up is simple. I’ve been using it for about 2 weeks for pull-ups, wide grip and chin-ups, I’ve also used bands with no complaints. I’m 75kg but I can see how this would suit heavier people. It’s so compact and easy to store and the grips are very comfortable. Also, the sellers followed up twice after purchasing in case I had any issues or questions. Great product and service.

Having looked at various home exercise options I decided this pull-up bar would be my first purchase. It’s a great piece of engineering and works perfectly. Easy to put up and take down (so I don’t keep walking into it). I’m 6 feet tall so have adapted to bending my knees to hang from the bar. The grips are very comfortable with no slip and it copes with my weight, just under 100kg.

So the top of my door is only 1cm when they recommend the 1.5cm however I’ve had no problems.
It is very secure and sturdy-yes there is some flex but that’s normal and my doorframe is secure.
English instructions which were easy to follow were supplied so it was super easy to set up too.
Value for money-good but not the best. I bought mine just under 60 which was the lowest it had been for 3 months. However I can see it used to be 40. But would I buy it for 60 again? Yes because this is a really good piece of kit.

It’s an excellent, neat product. Very well packaged and easy to use. I can see why it gets such high ratings!
The only criticism is that it doesn’t make clear the fact that you should not use a pull up bar where you have plasterboard or drywall, and most of my walls are plasterboard or drywall! I’m happy to take my chances but this could be clearer before buying……

I’m actually surprised how good it is! Very sturdy and easy to put up. I had a 30 pull up bar from a local sports shop which was shaking and broke after a year. This pull up bar feels like it will last me years. The technology with how the arms fold and unfold is genius, which makes its easy to transport. Photo attached shows it looks nice and flat when folded. This time I wanted to invest more for a better product and I’m a very happy customer!!

Positively surprised of the quality of the product.

  45. Anonymous says:

Can’t really fault this. It is a quality pull up bar for your home. I especially like that its just a bit higher on the door frame, so i don’t have to lift my legs so much at the bottom of the pull up (I’m 185cm).

The metal is quite thick, and it feels extremely sturdy. Purchased at the start of lock down, and have been using it regularly for about 12 weeks. I weigh ~ 90kg, and have been swinging out of this thing, and never felt the slightest bit of give (which I can’t say for my door frame!). I wasn’t sure about the thin arms that wrap under the door, but they’ve really surprised me.

I can’t speak to how effective the pads are at protecting the door, as I’ve put some bubble wrap underneath to provide additional protection, as I didn’t want to take the chance that the frame would be damaged.

The foam around the bar is also very good quality. I’ve done > 500 pull ups on it at this point, and there’s no indication of wear, or thinning of the foam.

I was going to dock one star due to the high price, but on second thought I think it is worth the money. I genuinely think this will last for years. Great product.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersFirst off, quickly dispatched, arrived as expected with minimal, but sufficient, packaging!
On the day it arrived I received an email from the seller that include PDF’s installation and usage instructions and a very helpful ebook of tips and techniques.
The bar itself is folded flat (makes it easy to store away), which with a little bit of effort can be unfolded to it’s full size (No tools required). Installation on to the door frame was simple, with the top mounting brackets seated on top of the frame on opposite side, and the side mounting brackets with adjustable sliders sitting comfortably on my door frame. The bar has a very solid feel to it as you grab the pull up bar and doesn’t wobble or flex when you do a controlled pull/chin up. The whole thing feels very secure, in fact my wife has started to use it with a pull up band, absolutely loves it! For me the only downside is my door height, me being 6 foot, the standard British doorframe is not high enough for me to have a full extension of my arms when standing, but with a bit of adaptation i’ve found that i can incorporate some great core exercises at the same time!
All-in-all a great bit of kit at a reasonable price, I would highly recommend!

  47. MartaEasterling says:

Has been sturdy for pull ups and hanging exercises and has caused no door frame damage (I’m 75kg). Unfortunately I couldn’t use on my garage to house door as intended due to the increased width of the wall and inability to adjust the bars attachments, however it’s been fine on all the standard door frames in the house.
Maybe a bit expensive for what it is, but I wanted a better quality item to ensure I got a decent sturdy product for my own safety and to avoid damaging doors.

This is the job. I didn’t write a review for awhile as I wanted to fully test it. I started not being able to do 1 pull up. Now I pump out 15 pull-ups and 15 chin ups in the morning. I have moved onto the wide grip pull-ups which you can do on this product. Sturdy and the grips have lasted some serious abuse. I use bands for an all round workout on this. I see the price has gone up but this and bands is all you need. So still cheap at the price. I can not recommend this product enough.

Doesn’t fit every door frame in my house but I found a couple it does. Really sturdy and confidence-inspiring, unlike cheaper ones I’ve used in the past.

As a taller guy (6ft), the extra height offered by this bar is really helpful and one of the main reasons I went for it. It’s just much more comfortable to use.

I, like lots of people, purchased this to help me keep some semblance of the exercise I am use to when not in lock down. I hadn’t been able to get any real pull-ups or back focused exercises done with the equipment I had at home. I chose this pull-up bar because you dont need any screws to install it and the actual bar sits level with the very top of the door frame (most door frame pull-up bars sit much lower, which gives you very little ground clearance when your arms are fully extended).

I’ve been using it since it arrived. It feels extremely sturdy. I weigh about 90kg and it holds my weight no problem. The door frame has 0 marks or impressions from the bar (not that I would be that bothered anyway) and the overall piece of equipment feels extremely heavy duty. Its super easy to set up and I’ve been knocking out pull-ups all week.

Delighted with this product. I know there is almost overwhelming variance with pull-up bars but you certainly cannot go wrong with this one. It does costs slightly more but I’m confident this will last far longer than the cheaper variants. Its also incredibly easy to setup and it arrived in no time.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI liked the fact this pull up bar seemed to offer a lot more flexibility than the one I was using at the time, which was limited to chin-ups. It is incredible how superior this is in every way. It’s superior in fact to every bar I have used in a gym because they all give me blisters in no time at all whereas the padding on the grips is fantastic! Will they last a long time? Not absolutely sure as I’ve only had it for a few months but I suspect a decent while. The build quality in general is very very solid. But do check the width of your doors and the space either side of your doors – I had to switch door frames because one of them was too close to the wall.

The price has gone up considerably since I bought it but I have been raving about it and thought I would gladly pay 100 for it. So yes it’s not the amazing value it once was but you can’t spend 70 in many better ways than this. I would not bother with pull ups and chin ups in the gym in future, this is far better.

I’ve now used this a few times and after the initial nervousness that it would rip my door down I have to say it’s a decent piece of kit for the home. Really easy to put up, so far no damage to the door and can be put away without fuss. The foam handles are also comfortable to use.

Negative would be that it’s probably more money than it should be at 70.

Folds away flat I store it behind my living room door.

This’ll be brief. It arrived well packaged, was very quick to set up, and would have gone into any door in the house. It’s very solid, having used it for over a month.

I did find I have quite a wide grip from the gym, and the outer grips may come a little narrow for some. But I can’t see how they could make something practical with such an arrangement.

    Excellent product.

Golden Review Award: 26 From Our UsersI really love this product, it feels really strong and sturdy even when im moving around and shifting my weight around quite a bit. It really is very well made.

The only 2 things worth noting about this product – you can only really do overhand or underhand pullups, and not neutral grip pullups, which for me is a bummer. I do love a good neutral grip pullup!

Finally the rubber pads that rest on the doorframe left marks. I’m not too fussed, but it does leave black smudges on the doorframe which is worth mentioning.

I would still defo recommend this product!!!

Iv tried a few of these sort of pull up bars but there normally quite akward to set up or not great quality. This bar isn’t either of those things, so easy to set up and fold away and is a solid pull up bar with comfortable grips for wide or narrow pull ups. Can also use it for press ups or some core workouts. Good investment!

Very happy with the product. I weigh 90 kg and it has held really well. I was pleasantly surprised by the sturdiness of this thing. Fits the standard. Door in Ireland, just beware the width of the hallway leading to the door. One tiny complaint, there were tinges of rust on the surface of the joints where the spring catch is located. Possibly the result of me getting a product that was stored for a long time in a damp basement? Still an awesome solid product.

I am useless at DIY. Can’t change a plug. But, even I had this out of the box and up and working within 60 seconds! So solid, so secure and so easy.

Can,t recommend it highly enough! Am delighted. Do not look – let alone buy elsewhere – elsewhere – this is all you need for chin ups and hanging leg raises

    deligthed!

Very pleased with the high quality of this item so far. Early days but it appears robust of construction and is comfortable to use. Fits onto my chosen 1930’s door frame with no problems however, due to the design of my property, there are a lot of doorways where the space around the frame is too restricted for this to fit.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersThis is a great bar – its BIG which means: it wont fit if your door is recessed OR close to another door/wall edge.

Love that its already assembled, just unclip the arms and spin around.
The height it sits at is great, no more tucking legs and the grip (really wide to narrow) is great! Well worth the extra money for this. Just wished I done it before my 2 previous bars.

Very sturdy and well engineered pull up bar – takes my 100kg weight with ease! The bar is also nice and wide for variable positions, plenty of room for resistance bands, and sits at the full height of the door frame. Love how easy it folds away after use and barely takes up any space, will fit in a wardrobe or behind a door no problem.

Wow, great product. Was a little worried about my door architrave as it’s a really old house but the rubber holding bits work perfectly to not cause damage, must be distributing the weight really effectively.. it’s sturdy, comfortable, easy to take down and put back up and looks great.. so glad I tried this as opposed to a more expensive and space taking free standing structure.

What’s not to like. The pull up bar comes with a great set of instructions and is so easy to fit, and remove for that matter. Utilising the strength of a door frame the pull up bar feels extremely secure as you exercise on it. Fantastic bit of kit that has clearly had a lot of work go into the design.
I really cannot speak highly enough of this – perfection.

Golden Review Award: 47 From Our UsersVery surprised when I opened the box as to how heavy duty it was.
Even more surprised when I fitted it and it easily took my weight.
The pictures don’t really do it justice at all. And as with a lot of things bought on line, in the back of my head I was expecting some cheap argos type thing.
I’ve tried other peoples cheap ‘argos’ type ones before and although they did take my weight (I was a bit lighter than I am now) I wouldnt trust them for any period of time.
I really wasn’t worried about the soft grips. I belong to a power lifting gym and compete in arm wrestling so am used to getting calluses. If my calluses get too bad I just wear work gloves. Plus, I know the soft grips wont last forever anyway. Still, it’s a nice addition.
The main thing for me was finding a bar strong enough for home use. I’m 107kg at the moment (just shy of 17 stone) and it takes my weight no problem.
Its rated to 130kg (a little over 20 stone) and although I wouldn’t fancy testing that without a soft landing just in case, i will be trying it with an extra 10kg.
Time will tell obviously, but as long as your pull ups and chin ups are slow and with good form with little jerking, I honestly cant see there being a problem.
I also use it for static holds and dead hangs just to stretch out the back and shoulders which it’s great for.
Overall, money extremely well spent!! I see no reason why it shouldnt last even using it everyday… Great thing is, it means i don’t have to go to the gym or the park just to do pull ups anymore, which ultimately means i can use my time at the gym more efficiently by using it for max holds and working on pull ups with more jerking type movements… Ideal !!!

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersThis is perhaps one of the best tool in this range. The padded handles are very comfortable and honestly I dont think you can find any better than this. I knew straight away I would hate the unpadded ones as they would be slippery and utterly uncomfortable, and this one just proves me right. Excellent grip, please take off your gloves when you are using it coz you dont need it, very comfortable, holds well on the door.
Just remember to cover the rubber at the end of the frames as they may leave black marks on you wall and door. I just covered them with some scotch tape.
    Really good product!
