I don’t use it for stairs – I live in a bungalow! It is good on kitchen and bathroom tiles and it is good on carpets. What more can I say?

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersThis is so easy to assemble. I’m 70. Great suction. Picked up so much dirt from a carpet just apparently cleaned by a Dyson.
Like the light on the front and the fact that you don’t have to hold the trigger to keep it running. Big difference .
The price relative to what I’ve paid for Dyson is a very significant but not the most important factor. I wanted a cleaner that’s easy to handle at my age and the price is a bonus.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI am a previous owner of the Dyson cordless vac. The Shark is better in its performance.
The head of the main vac I found to be a bit bulky to go under furniture.
It is heavier than the Dyson and I found it difficult to use to vac out the car.
However all in all I prefer the Shark simply for its suction power.
Easy to swap out tools and to remove the battery to recharge.
Was a little concerned that the run time is only 40 mins but found it ample time to vac the whole house .
Good product but a little pricey.
As a last note I would have liked a brush attachment of some sort but my model didn’t come with one.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersAdmittedly I’ve only had it for a day, but I’m so impressed. I had been using the Dyson cordless, which has been a huge disappointment (huge fan of their hairstyling equipment, but honestly don’t bother with their vacuums). The dirt the Shark has picked up is astounding – on normal setting without using the booster, it picks up what the Dyson picked up on turbo setting (which lasted less than a minute before draining the battery). Also love that the small battery can be plugged in anywhere without the need to hang a charging station on the wall. All the various accessories attach easily, it’s all so easy. If you’re considering whether or not to buy one, you won’t be disappointed!

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis is a very good vacuum and I am very pleased with it, however it is a bit heavy after using for a while and the suction isn’t as good as my last vacuum – still works well enough though. I really like the colour!

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersEasy to put together. Very good pickup and battery life. The only reason I gave it 4 stars and not 5, is because after a short while, I found it got heavy (I’ve got shoulder problems). Tools are easy to change. It’s very easy to remove the battery and the filters and bin for emptying. I’m very happy with this.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersHuge spider in the house last night, ordered this straight away to keep upstairs as my other Shark is an upright and cumbersome to get upstairs in a emergency such as this!! Well made, works a dream and has a trigger booster suction- fantastic as always great quality from Shark. Critters and dust beware!

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThis is a great product. Well made, breaks down small for storage and has powerful suction that removes pet hair with no problem at all. Easy to empty and good selection of accessories too. I also use it to clean the cars. Battery life is excellent. Overall, can’t fault it apart from maybe it is a bit heavy, but I’d be nit picking. Better than a similar price Dyson? YES!

Golden Review Award: 42 From Our UsersFor me this is worth every penny, I used to hardly ever vacuum as was such a pain, now I genuinely enjoy it and do it multiple times a week because it is just so insanely easy and gives such good results, it’s very rewarding. I have a one bed flat with wooden floors and the first time I used it it honestly looked like I’d polished the floor, it gleams now. Also amazed how much dust it still picks up between regular vacuums.
I was surprised how small it is, especially when folded down
I can do the whole flat easily on one charge
I love how you can take off the stick so you can use it on sofas and smaller items
Also like how you can then charge it wherever you want
The feature where it bends to vacuum under sofas etc is very cool
It’s also very nimble, that’s probably one of the best things, so going round corners etc is easy as the head can sort of swivel side to side
    Obviously great to be cordless
The onnnly thing I’d mention is that it would feel slightly weighty if you were doing a whole house, but you can’t really expect less when the whole machine is in hand and it’s really not bad
Previously I may have felt it silly to pay so much for a vacuum esp when I had an old fashioned one already, but I’m now a big believer in buying good appliances to make housework easier so you can enjoy your weekends and live in a clean home that makes you calm and happy

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI still adore this hoover. Its suction power and bright light to spot dust are just two of its best features. I use it for every room in my house. Only thing I’d say is that it is a little heavier than I thought it would be! So it would not be best suited to someone elderly or seeking something super light. Otherwise, I highly recommend.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersGot this vacuum to replace another well known brand which had died and was no longer supported. I had heard good things about Shark.
On first use, it looks like the right decision, and a few people we know have said they also have and are happy with Shark.
The thing that struck me most was there was no plastic packaging. (See photo) Everything was card or paper. Extremely good example. Other electrical items we have bought recently have come with loads of plastic wrapping and polystyrene. All manufacturers should look and learn.
    Well done Shark!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Vacuum and no plastic packaging

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI have two cats and so they shed hair across the hard floors and carpets. This hoover has exceptional power and an ability to clean carpet. When I look at the tank afterwards it is filled with car hair, dust and debris that I hadn’t even seen, which is testament to it’s power. Easy to store away and fold down. Great power and batter life.
    Negatives,

I think better attachments would be beneficial. The ones you get aren’t very good.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersAbsolutely in love with shark!!

Shark beats all the other brand hoovers by miles. Can honestly say this is a dream to use. The fact is cordless means there’s no cable limiting your movement range. You can store it near enough anywhere too, as it folds in half to prevent taking up loads of room.

The suction is amazing. I shed like a dog my hair gets everywhere. This does not struggle to pick it all up. And the anti hair wrap saves me the horrible job of untangling the hoover roll

    Very pleased

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersLove this!! Needed something easier to carry up the stairs and something quick and easy to get out and do quick vac round. Had no issues with it, does exactly what it’s described as being/doing, anti hair wrap function works great as I have a long haired cat who malts all the time.
Only negative is it’s a little too heavy, but got used to it fairly quickly
Battery lasts ages too and quick to charge

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersWas moving towards the big D for my next hoover, but prices and reviews on their own website gave me the need to reconsider. Straight out of the box and WOW! First whip round our 1 bed flat using the battery already in situ and I was turned! Attachments should do the trick elsewhere, had a little go in our camper too. Boost helps for car mats with dog hair but didn’t want to deplete the battery. I have chronic pain so wanted lightweight and easy and although it may not be as light as others, the speed in which I can do the whole flat will be a lot less strenuous. Stores folded and batteries can be charged separately, great for a small home. So far so good.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersFirst venture into cordless vacuums. The Shark is easy to put together but beware that the battery needs to be charged before use. First use today over the entire house (approx 130 squ metres) with a mix of hard floor and carpets and the battery is not yet 50% spent. Pickup is good and the hair wrap works very well as evidenced by all the Golden Retriever hair being in the dust trap and not on the brushes. Well pleased but shocked to see that the price has increased by over 50 in three days

Golden Review Award: 17 From Our UsersI am so pleased I made this purchase. I already own the grown up model pet Anti hair wrap vacuum which is quite heavy but does an excellent job. The cordless has excellent suction and so much easier for me to maneuver, ( I have an accute back injury) I can literally zip around with this one, dog and cat hairs are lifted easily. The booster for max power on my carpeted hall where my big hairy retriever likes to base him self is no problem for this wonderful cordless vac.
It comes complete with a handy bag to keep the tools in, which is a nice touch and saves you hunting around for mislaid heads. The charge lasts very well. This Ninja does such a good job that when I want to have a deeper clean the collection bucket on mama Shark barely has anything in which proves that little Ninja is doing a great job. I have 2 cats & my Goldy so animal fur & my long hair strands get “about” but I dont have to worry about anything as the Anti hair Wrap works a dream. Thank You Shark your products make my life a cleaner place to be.!

One little extra I would like for my OCD is the option to add the correct size brush to clean out the tricky bits of static dust inside the bucket & head as I like to clean inside my machines after every use.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersFor a cordless machine this is an absolute beast. I cannot complain about its cleaning qualities but it is quite noisy. I have got used to it now, but really they could have done something about the noise level.

In terms of does it clean your carpet well – yes it does – incredibly well. I won’t swap it now for anything, even did decent job on car carpet which is always a challenge.

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersNeeded a cordless hoover, as using a conventional one had become really hard with my disability getting worse. This machine is fantastic. The Flexology wand is amazing for getting underneath furniture, but because it can’t be “locked in” to that position, there is no additional support and you are bearing all the weight of the machine at the top.

The lock system for attaching and detaching accessories is really straightforward, and the “extra power” trigger is also really useful. A massive bonus is also that the battery is detachable and can be charged as such, so there is no need to mount any fixtures on your walls.

This review looses one star, because it doesn’t come with any useful “dusting” attachments like other hoovers, which is really annoying. You should be able to buy them separately, but you won’t be able to to, because they’re never in stock on the Shark website (or indeed anywhere else!).

Would highly recommend, as long as you don’t want to buy any useful extras for it!

Golden Review Award: 18 From Our UsersI bought the Shark steam cleaner a few months ago and was highly delighted with it, so when my Dyson started playing up I decided to try the Shark. It compared well against the Dyson and was much cheaper than the latest model.

Even though this vax is heavier than other market leaders, which is not good for my arthritis, I love it.

It compares well with the main market leaders in every way, except the weight. I love the way it stands on its own when unfolded as well as the way it folds reducing the amount of space it needs.

The Shark gets into corners better removing all dust and dirt and lights up the floor so you can actually see it picking up the bits much clearer and reduces the need to go over the same surface over and over again . The storage compartment removed easily and quickly and is easy to clean and, unlike the others, does not collect dirt in the closure plates as some of the others do. It is generally a much cleaner process to empty it.

Being able to move directly from one surface to another at a touch of a button and boost the suction where necessary is a very smooth and quick process.

It has a number of add-ons, including a very useful pet attachment, a suction surface attachment which is great for work surfaces and a stair brush, as well as the proverbial corner attachment.

To top it off there’s the two batteries. There is nothing more frustrating than getting part way through the cleaning to find the vac has run out. Not with the two battery Shark. Two batteries and a double charger ensure no interruptions and a continuous clean.

The only negative for me is that there is no separate extension attachment for overhead cleaning but I still have my old one for that and the other benefits certainly make up for it.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis product was recommended by family and friends and has not disappointed me. It cleans the floors well and is sufficiently lightweight. Battery life is good and emptying the dust container very simple. The instruction booklet was user friendly. Very satisfied.

Great design and colour. In general I like it. Was tempted to return it as it’s quite top heavy (I guess all makes this type of cleaner are the same) and I was replacing a GTech Air-ram so used to the collection bit being at floor level. That makes my shoulder ache because of the design. However, I like it too much to send it back and can’t wait to use the long tube as a handheld without the brush bar to get into all those annoying nooks & crannies!

Battery doesn’t last very long on carpet setting as it has more oomph but it comes with 2 batteries anyway so not a problem.

I have hair that goes just past my shoulders so my bedroom & bathroom floors get a bit hairy. The anti hair wrap is great. Hair has collected round the little wheels though so I’ll need to get into the habit of snipping it off after each use.

Suction is scarily good you need to empty it quite often and just one quick vac session of one room gives you a bit of a surprise. I suspect the hose needs clearing every now and then as I cleared up some metal snips which are still rattling around in the stick bit – this is probably the biggest difference to one where the collection bit is at floor level.

Hope this helps you choose one way or another. Glad I didn’t send it back even though we now have 2 vacuum cleaners as it turned out the GTech only needed a new battery!

Shark vacuum cleaner happened to be on sale, so I decided to buy it and after using it for a while, I think it works better than Dyson. It has a lot of suction and I’m very happy with it, although not as many accessories as the Dyson, but enough for me.

I do like this and the suction power is reasonable it picked up lots of fluff from my already hoovered carpets. The power time is adequate.
What I do like and this is an advantage over most others is that the start button stays on the others make my wrist ache. It folds down nice and neatly to fit away in my cupboard. I would definitely buy again oh and the delivery was quick too.

Very good hoover. I have a dog with a lot of hair and this hoover removed all hair from the carpet. By the way 40 minute or 30 charges doesn’t matter because all u need is 20 to 25 minutes maximum to hoover living room and hall way.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersThis is my second Shark, for some reason the first one seemed to have better suction, although they are identical models.
Deffinitely get the dual battery one, you never have to atress about running out of power. The bits it comes with are usedul for all areas, even my car.
Quite light when handheld, but can feel quite heavy when in full floor hoovering mode.
Folds for ease of storage which my old one didn’t do.
Returning to the suction, I can say that I am not very happy that I have to go over a bit of fluff that is imbeded in the carpet a few times before it disappears (also carpet might be the problem).
Does well on hard surfaces and you can empty it very easily.
One battery lasts me enough to do a whole 2 bedroom small flat.
    Lovely colour too (dark teal).

    Great value for money

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersWe live in quite a small flat with a kitten who loves kicking litter EVERYWHERE and own a shaggy rug and this does exactly what we need it to do – good suction, the battery is enough and the two settings for carpet and floor is all we need. Golden Review Award: 17 From Our UsersExcellent piece of kit so far. Light enough to not cause me to need a lie down after using it, more than enough charge to deal with the slovenly teenagers craters, sorry, bedrooms. Cat is terrified of light on the front which is excellent for illumination of bits on the floor and the terrified cat skulking at the back of the sofa. Really nifty function that allows the tube to hinge so that I can further torment the cat by hoovering under the sofa without crawling on my hands and knees which then requires a convenient piece of furniture and/or crew of stout men with a block and tackle to get me back up on my feet afterward. Pity it doesn’t go “dum-dum, dum-dum” whilst you are hoovering given the name, but then Mustangs don’t neigh, so perhaps that’s an unreasonable request. No hesitation recommending it, oh and the moulting child’s long hair really doesn’t get wrapped round the brush bar, so I can ditch my old Saturday hobby of cutting the hoover loose at long last. Wonderful!

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersGood but not great.
    Pros:
    – Quite neat and compact when folded;
    – Reasonably light and easy to use;
    – Fairly good suction for light use.
    Cons:
Not a fan of the attachment for system for 3 reasons.
    – Non-standard connection (not a circle but a rounded rectangle) therefore harder to find attachments;
    – As attachment connection is not circular you can’t rotate the attachments to make certain jobs easier (i.e stairs);
    – Attachments in the box were lacking, no dusting brush or small carpet tool.

I have a Henry Hoover which is more powerful but a bit of a pain to lug about. I bought this because I thought it would be easier to use, especially on stairs. To be fair it is good for what it is, and far superior to most small ‘dust-buster’ type vavuums. On the other hand, the attachment issues really let it down. Attachments are out of stock on the manufacturer website, and they don’t even name the connection type, so it’s harder to find third party solutions.

    Good not grea

Golden Review Award: 13 From Our UsersSo after hours of researching the sharks I decided to go for this one. It was on offer and a great bargain . I have wanted a cordless for a long time and so far I am not disappointed. It was so easy to put together and once I had charged battery off I went . My house was done in no time and considering I hoover every day with hetty I soon filled the bin. The light on the shark highlights places hetty did not do . I love it and so glad I purchased. The small part is fab for stairs and sofa . So far the suction is good it’s got everything up . I was worried the 40 mins charge would not b enough but it lasted ages. Putting it in charge each evening will guarantee its good to go for the day . I always have to hoover a lot so this is good for me. I am super happy with this overall at first I thought it was a bit heavy but after 5 mins I realised its not bad at all. The only downside is the attachments they are basic but not bad. I like the attachments with the brush and these do not come with the brush on them. You can purchase them separately from shark so I will see how I get on for a bit with the basic ones but will properly purchase one as I like to brush my stairs . It is only a minor but a honest review. Roll on my big new years day clean tomorrow using my shark .

Golden Review Award: 14 From Our UsersI have the corded equivalent of this vacuum cleaner and wanted the cordless version for ease of use. I managed to get it at what I thought was a good Black Friday price which was then reduced further by Shark themselves and included the car care kit, so I was already a tad frustrated. Then I began using it, the battery pack makes the handheld unit very heavy so difficult to hold for long if you have hand issues such as arthritis as I do. The battery life is not bad at 40 minutes but if you want a second battery the cost is high, the overall power is much weaker than the corded unless you constantly use the power boost but that reduces the battery life. Finally, the head of the machine is smaller than the corded one making the time it takes to vacuum longer. Overall, if you want power and a lightweight machine then go for the corded which I really rate!

Golden Review Award: 13 From Our UsersThis has a lovely blue finish with yellow rollers and came with a short pipe for doing the stairs and an upholstery attachment. The pieces all fit together easily and is not complicated to operate. There are three settings Off, Solid floor and Carpet and an extra booster. It is quite a bit heavier than my last cordless vacuum but is obviously a better deal. There is a clip on the stem which allows it to bend under the sofa etc and was very handy and this also allows the pipe to fold up when being stored. It is very noisy also compared to my old machine but as long as it’s working hard that’s ok. I was surprised as just how full the compartment was after one quick pass through the house. This tells me it’s doing a great job. There is one battery included which is easy to remove to charge up separately if desired but you can also charge the vacuum without taking it off. All in all, so far I’m liking it but for 199.00 I’m expecting a lot!
