parfai
A great watch for the price, but has some areas for improvement.
This product has some really positive qualities and some that could perhaps be improved.
Positives:
– the price is fantastic especially for a watch you wear daily or for someone (like me) who can’t face paying so much for a smart watch.
– lovely design. The watch looks more expensive than it is and i love the weight, size and look of it. It’s pretty, chunky and aesthetic.
– app is easy to download, use and the interface of the watch is simple and easy to use.
– it does what it says it does!
– customisable watch face is a really nice feature.
– customer service/contact post-purchase.
Areas for improvement:
– battery life could be better. Usually lasts 2 days.
– on some screens the watch can lack clarity and doesn’t have sharp graphics like other watches I’ve had.
– at times, the watch will start a random workout, especially in water.
– considering the size of the watch face, some icons can be small.
– connecting via Bluetooth means I keep getting a repeated message ‘checking for messages.’ I’m unsure why.
Verdict: so far, this is a reasonably priced, great little watch that I won’t be worried if it is lost or damaged, but is good enough that I wear it daily and use it in place of a previously much more expensive non-android watch I owned!
Value for money fitness watch.
Item arrived on time well packaged and was straightforward to get set up on my wife’s iPhone.
I bought this watch in January, it is 100% what it says in the description, I recommend it 100%
For the price a great piece of equipment. Easy to answer calls or read messages when phone is in your pocket. Also comes with a nice large strap which fitted my wrist very comfortably
Amazing watch does as it says. Defo worth the money.
These guys are just lovely. I’m retired and the wrong or right side of 70-73. I am not a technological person in any shape or form. I wild swim in the river ‘almost every morning’ depending on the tides and that’s all year round. This watch is just amazing and the support I have received in helping me use this product to the best and fullness has been great (I’m not technically competent).
That you team smart watch KP
I love this watch, very comfortable and so easy to set up, questions I did have were answered straight away and the watch does everything i wanted and more! I’m a very busy nail technician so having notifications and calls come through on my watch is so much better, and when I’m home cleaning and have no idea where my phone is i never miss a call… Great watch at a great price
Having lost a couple of apple watches I decided buy a cheap watch , wasn’t expecting much , however within 5 mins I was connected to my iPhone works brilliantly , but best of all the quality is amazing metal watch and in my opinion works better than the apple watch for the price you won’t be disappointed , fast delivery too
Excellent watch. Battery life is great and can you can stop it draining by using battery saving on phone. Mobile app really useful.
Never had a smart watch before, didn’t want to spend loads of money. This was good value for money, fairly easy to set up and use. Looks nice on and still getting used to it.
Good basic smart watch
This smart watch is a great buy for the price. You get incoming call, text and WhatsApp notifications. It measures your steps and monitors your heart rate. You can not download apps but can control music on your phone from it. Youcan track workout and your monthly cycle. Would recommend this it works well and doesn’t break the bank. The straps also change, i think the Samsung watch straps would fit this model.
Comprehensive budget smart watch
I was extremely impressed with this budget smart watch. Well designed and comes with alot more than you world expect in the box. Additional strap and adjustment tool. Call and messaging function on watch and notification alerts too. This put to shame some more expensive choices. Very easy to setup and connects via Bluetooth battery lasts avout 36 hours with average use and notifications.
A pretty good watch
Got this since my other watch stopped working and it works quite well, has all the features expected of a modern stop watch and has a pretty good battery life.
Its a bit pricy, considering you are getting into the known brands price bracket but its still good.
If you don’t want to spend too much this is quite a good product but if you have more to spend maybe look somewhere else.
4/5
Worth it.
Entry Level Smart Watch
This might be an entry level smart watch in terms of price, but for sure the device has all of the necessary functions that you need for a smart watch.
Connection to my phone was easy but it drains the battery to have it connected all the time.
The smart watch batteries are improve but for this watch the battery start to degrade quickly I was charging every 72 hours and now I’m down 48 hours after only having the device live for around a month.
But still for the price I think it is worth while.
Recommended.
Questio
Bonjour,
Merci
Looks nice with some nice features
I already have a smart watch, but it is showing up the wear and tear.
So I thought it would be a good time to try a replacement.
Now this watch visually is quite pleasant, it is a large round head, with a single button on the side.. It is about 1cm thick.
The first thing you do when switching on is download the app and connect. You will need to register to use the app, which I do not like, but it is what it is.
The app though is pretty decent with an inital display showing relevant information. Changing the digital watch face is pretty easy and the app also lets you see you information by day, week, month and year, which is a really nice option.
One really annoying thing is if you have disabled notifications clicking on the me button it will pop up a request enable notifications everytime, so if you navigate the me button section, everytime you return to the default me screen it will ask request permission to show notifications and you can do nothing until you say yes or no. I said no, and asking me 100 times does not get me to change my mind.
So the watch, the look is nice, the strap is 22mm and has a nice feel. swiping left gives you a mini menu, which is not always the same options, scrolls through 3 or 4 options ( pulse, steps, weather) which you can set from 6 options. Swipe down is basic usage settings and swipe up is messages, although none have come through to my phone yet.
The button opens the big menu with all the options.
Overall it is not the best menu system, and could be better.
One really nice is feature is the “find phone” option, select it and you phone beeps. This is nice for when you cannot remember where in the house you left the phone.
I am a little dissapointed with the 5-6 day battery life, I have disabled all vibrations and dropped brightness all the way down and still it has a max of 5-6 days.
My previous smart watch I could get close to a month, with pretty much the same functionality.
It is not a bad watch, and it does look very nice. I am just not impressed with it.
It still scrapes out 4 stars, due to look, decent software, a decent quality build and doing what it should do.
It is let down with clunky watch menu system, not great battery life, and software annoyances.
This is not bad considering the price, it may not have all the features that more expensive smart watches offer, but having one that is laden with features, and that cost nearly five times the price of this one, I would say its possibly an advantage. My expensive watch is complicated and difficult to use, so most of the features go ignored. By contrast this watch is easy to use and the features clear and easy to access.
In addition to the ease of use, it is also easy to see, with a bright, bold face it can be read even in bright sunshine. There is also a large selection of display options to choose from, The battery life is very good; with basic use, and not even in economy mode, the battery lasts well over a week. With the exercise function turned on I suspect the battery will last about half that time, which is still not bad.
Set in the walk mode, and linked to your phone, it can provide a comprehensive report. Distance covered, time taken, etc, along with calories burnt, heart rate and a surprisingly accurate map tracing where you’ve been. All of this can be saved for future reference.
I would have liked to have an explanation of the results returned in the exercise mode. For example, does calories total recorded include what the body would be using just to keep everything ticking over, and if it does, why does it not record anything for when you are at rest? As it is you do not get a daily total for calories burden, just what you burn during exercise.
The initial setup could be made easier, messages popped up and disappeared before they could read, and some things were misleading. It also took a while to receive the confirmation code.
The charging connection is annoying, it attaches ok, but very easily dislodges, so you need to take care it’s not knocked when charging.
I do miss some functions, for example my more pricy watch links to my doorbell, this one doesn’t offer that option. But all things considered, this watch is very practical, and good value.
This is a good-looking watch which I got as a gift for my father. The circular dial is big and attractive and suits broader wrists.
It’s simple to pair this watch with an android phone as well as iPhone. It uses Bluetooth to establish the connection between the watch and the phone.
I believe circular screens are not very popular with tech-savvy users but these are excellent for those who want to blend the traditional watch look with technology. I have also seen circular dial people who are physically more active.
You can do loads of things using the watch and you won’t need to use the mobile directly after you pair the mobile with the watch. The watch is useful to see incoming calls and app notifications. You can’t actually receive calls from the watch or attend calls using the watch. You can only decline the calls.
The watch can track your steps, heartbeat, and oxygen. You can record many activities using this watch.
The touch is smooth and the watch makes very good use of the whole screen. You get lots of watch faces including any image of your choice. I particularly enjoyed the Christmas watch faces on the dial.
The watch screen turns on automatically with the movement is the wrist but that features cones at the cost of the battery. You can easily disable this feature.
The watch is water resistant but not fully waterproof so it can handle small drizzle and sweat.
The best part is the battery which lasts for three days once it’s charged and is under use continuously. Lasts over several days when idle and not in use.
Overall, this is a very good watch but I think the ability to take calls from the watch could have gotten this watch five stars sadly it is ending with four stars.
Great for battery and fitness
Mostly this is quite similar to many of the other standard smart watches out there. The biggest pro is I have not had one where the battery lasts as well as this one and I use it fairly often. Theres many many fitness trackers, its great for checking messages and all the other standard things like basic health checks such as step counting it does.
Gydom Smart Watch for Me
First of all I noticed that it was easy to charge up: this had concerned me because the last supposedly smart-watch I had got I had to throw away because it failed to surmount even this basic hurdle.
It was a bit tricky trying to link the watch to my Android smartphone. The App sends an OTP which you must use within 60 seconds to verify your email … however, it took more than 60 seconds for the email to come through! Eventually however, it did send an email within the correct time frame for me to complete this step.
I now have a functioning watch which, as I write, is still going three days after last charging it. It has a step-counter, heartbeat monitor, sleep monitor, all accessible from the first screen. It vibrates when I receive a telephone call. It also has several fitness functions, although I have not fully explored their potential as yet.
Smart looking smart watch
Comes well presented, so will make a great gift.
The watch face is quite big and strap long, ideal for my male relative.
No charge out of the box, but cable is included, so just plugged into an existing usb plug as there isn’t one included.
The charger cable is one of the magnetic ones, but it is quite short.
A quick charge and I was able to get it to spring into life…one then has to scan an app before you can go any further.
Touch screen is very responsive and the “winder” button is easy to use.
Overall a nice watch, I’m sure he’ll be pleased.
If you are new to smartwatches and thinking of purchasing one you might question why some, from well-known manufacturers, sell for around 250 and more, especially for more recent releases, and others, such as this watch, sell for 40.
This watch is without doubt good value for money. It really has the functionality of a pedometer rather than a sophisticated smartwatch. The watch, with the associated app, will track your heart rate, steps and sleep. From this it calculates calories and measures levels of activity. In addition via a Bluetooth link to your mobile phone you can receive notifications such as an alert about text messages, and using the same technology make and receive calls via Bluetooth.
In addition the phone is semi-waterproof and has a blood Oximeter built in. It has a long battery life compared to many smartwatches although that is due to limited functionality.
The watch does lack some key features and functionality. Most notably for me you can’t use it for payments such as Google Pay. It doesn’t have a GPS chip so whilst it can guess from the heart rate and steps readings that you are, for example, running, it can’t track a route. Compared to an admittedly expensive Samsung Watch 5 Pro the pedometer is inaccurate under reporting steps. The heart rate monitor is better. The Oximeter seems flawed. In addition without my phone being nearby it has no link to the outside world. No WiFi access is available so no updates take place.
Overall as a pedometer this watch is ok, if not particularly accurate. For weather updates without a phone it doesn’t function. It is only around 40 at time of review so has a good functionality/cost ratio. As a result it’s a 4 star product for me. Good as long as you know what you get.
Good value smart watch
This is a good value smart watch that is a heck of a lot cheaper than some of the usual suspects / big name brands.
I like the size/feel of the watch – for me it’s just right.
The app is ‘OK’. You get a lot more info/stats from the app versus the watch itself, which is to be expected.
Battery life depends on if you have a perm connection going with your mob. If you do, the battery life on both devices is a lot less. If you just want the health monitors going on the phone and use it more like a regular watch, which means you don’t need it always connected, then the battery life is very good – 5 or so days. But for some that will defeat the object of having the watch – they want to get the alerts each time a message or call comes in. In which case, charge it daily as you would your phone.
I found the charging magnet/cable slightly fiddly to use. Would rather have had an old fashioned micro-USB socket.
All told, a good value smart watch with plenty of functionality for this price point.
Nice watch.
This is fairly standard smart watch in the mid range of less expensive products.
It is well presented, and looks and feels more expensive than its relatively modest price.
Functions are very much like other watches I have reviewed, and the watch relies on an app on your smart phone, so an account is needed, with basic user data, in order for the health metrics to be applied.
Watch is charged by a magnetic clip to a USB A plug, and as so often the case you’ll need a spare USB socket for this, no charger is provided.
This watch is okay in terms of function. The data presented in the app is more comprehensive than the summary in the watch.
There is an good selection of sports activities pre-installed with the ability to add more from the app, a total of 110 — including weight training and horse riding for example.
The watch also has 150 dials to choose from – again using the app.
And I am wearing this watch, and I have been for a few days.
What I do really like about this device is the size, the screen is wide, and this means the watch itself is not that thick.
By thin watch standards it is still chunky, but by smart watch standards it’s thin, which is both practically and for me aesthetically pleasing.
I have changed the silicon strap for a metal strap I had to hand, because I find silicon doesn’t agree with me.
The straps are the standard pin lever type and the width being 22mm.
Not yet run the battery down, so I can’t attest to the predicted battery life, but it looks reasonable.
As this is close to a new from the box review, it is in some respects a holding review, and if I have anything to add after more time has passed, I’ll return to this.
