ABUS Cobra loop cable
The steel cable for a wide range of uses
Whether for securing two-wheelers on the car’s bicycle rack, securing the helmets or tying chairs to the table so they cannot be destroyed – the Cobra loop rope is suitable for many securing purposes. Depending on the usage, the steel cable is available in different lengths and cable thicknesses.
Use of the fuse cable:
Pull the cable through the object to be secured. Insert a lock through the two loop ends. Lock the lock so that the item is secured. Accessories, helmets etc. are safely stored

A very solid and durable product, I recommend it to anyone who is looking for something decent to secure their bike.
Heavy duty bike security. So far so good. Locking it to things that don’t move is the way to go.
Low life with Cordless grinders are still out there ! Location, location, location still maters
Great product for bike security. These are expensive but compared to other products this is decent value. I feel like d locks are overpriced but that’s the market. This is the most secure which is why we went for it as we recently purchased an electric bike and need to keep it locked up around town. So far no issues at all. I think this lock would put off your everyday thief as it’s so strong.
Feels like a tough bit of kit but loses a star as the plastic outer casing on the horizontal locking mechanism fell off after I dropped it accidentally from 3 feet. Managed to put it back after a faff and lock still works but was surprised all the same. Smooth locking mechanism and easy to use. Can’t comment on how effective a deterrent it will be but seems very sturdy. Used in combination with a beefy Kryptonite 12mm chain lock plus Kryptonite cables.
This is a pretty beastly lock and has the weight to go with it. This is the biggest you can go without going to full motorcycle style lock. The pick resistance on this is almost certainly enough to counter opportunists, I think you’re more likely to see the fence or pole you’re attached to gone than you are the lock compromised.
It’s heavy Yes . . . Mine is the smaller Maximum Internal Width is 110mm Maximum Internal Length is 225/230mm
Shackle width about 175mm & about 50mm long Plus Key handle length if it’s that tight !
I’ve tried others but using ABUS is reassuring . . . The lock feels solid as does the Key & Mechanism.
I use it round the Fork Arm with a Cable wound round the Front Wheel & Frame . . . Another ABUS Chain locks the Frame, and Rear Wheel to the Street Furniture . . . Nothing will stop the inevitable but I hope they look, think about it and move on ! That to me is problem solved !
Bought this after research and a youtube video that was real in-depth and praising this lock among others.
So far so good. Lock is really sturdy, I love the rubber protection around everywhere, not too heavy, and the mounting on the bike is really ingenious. I was able to mount it on the side of the rear wheel and it works great there
On my motorbike I use an abus granit disc lock and this Abus D lock together on the front wheel and it’s extra precaution. It’s a great D lock with very good ratings. A 16mm pragmasis chain and round lock to a ground anchor for the rear. Everything helps. At this price it’s a bargain.
Solid lock. It looks sturdy and is likely to discourage criminals. It fixes to the bike relatively well. The lock is fairly heavy, but that’s the price of a good lock.
A good, if heavy, D-Lock from Abus. The keyway is partially protected from picking attacks and the shape of the bar is meant to resist leverage attacks. I don’t know about the resistance to filing or angle-grinding; which is probably the most popular way of getting into one of these. The bar is not that thick but it is hardened.
I bought this lock as I leave my bike in the street in London. The rubber coating is good to not only protect the bike but also reduces the noise when using it.
The lock is fairly heavy and quite long which limited the areas I could attach it for storage on the frame, however this is an acceptable trade-off for such a sturdy and versatile lock.
It’s difficult to review a lock that will hopefully never be put to test for the features it boasts. However, the lock seems very well made with good materials, the locking mechanism is positive and easy to use. The lock has a rubbery type covering that prevents it from “clanging” on your bike and rocking the paint job. It comes with a couple of keys; one with a light, the other is a nice compact size.
I haven’t used the lock carrier to attach the lock to the frame so unable to offer any comments on it.
According to some reputable cycling magazines it is one of the best locks on the market.
The only negative thing is that it rattles a bit in its case, making some noise while I’m cycling. I still haven’t figured out how to solve this problem.
The length may be a nuisance, however, if the frame isn’t big enough for attaching it there.
I really enjoy the attachable arm for the lock. It’s not in the way whilst cycling, and I don’t need to think about space for storing it whilst cycling.
Other than that, my bike has not been stolen so far.
I am very happy with it so far: easy to install on the bike, easy to use, and comes with two keys and a registration card.
The price on amazon is really good too compared to the high street shops
It’s large enough to go around most poles.
I have had it since the summer, now we’ll see how it withstands the winter.
Reasonably easy to use and gives you confidence as it certainly gives the impression of being strong and reliable. Only down side is the weight. Heavy! But I suppose that is inevitable.
Mounts to the bike in a lot of configurations allowing me to find one that didn’t impact riding and allowed me to keep my bottle cages on.
Opens and closes easily. Easy to click on and off the mount.
I have had 3 bikes stolen in the 5 years I have lived in this city, my current bike is the most expensive I have ever owned and so far the lock has prevented any thefts (approx 6 months).
If my bike is stolen I will update this review to give details.
As this this item has been covered by many others, its simple, buy this lock or be prepared to buy a new bike later, also use a wheel and saddle cables with this lock for more security and peace of mind.
Looks well made nice and heavy duty will be using it to secure 2 expensive electric bikes together.
I hope it does the job and protects the bike’s. It is hard to tell how strong it is but will be using with a heavy duty motorbike chain and 2 LiteLok Gold Locks as extra backup to slow thieves down, and hopefully make them look elsewhere.
Very solid lock – heavy duty and feels very secure. I particularly like the cleaver mounting system which locks into the frame mount and doesn’t vibrate around when riding. Expensive, but worth it.
Looks sturdy and is definitely heavy. I hope it does the job and protects the bike. It is hard to tell how strong they are as having paid a lot of money for it, I don’t want to test it by hammering it 🙂
Having looked at the equivalent locks from Kryptonite and On Guard, it was an easy decision.
I love the fact that the bike mount for the lock/frame is also integrated into the lock.
This makes everything more secure, stronger and prevents movement when cycling.
And I live in central london ( high crime area )
The best so fa
Big, hard, sturdy, but the lock is also good.
Jokes aside, this is it, THE bike lock, that is, this is/should be, the standard here.
Solidly built, its heavy practical and it take a beating, paired with a cable, it’s a confident lock.
There’s a bike mount too extending the usefulness.
Very recommended, no, this is the minimum one should have.
Main plus points are:
It offers a very high level of protection
It’s solid!
Rubberised coating protects your paintwork.
Comes with a very effective quick-release clamp to store on your bike frame.
Doesn’t rattle as you are cycling along.
The key has an LED light to help you at night.
Main downside is:
The price (75.72 at time of purchase)
If it wasn’t so expensive I would have given it 5 stars.
This is a hefty look and the U shank is not quite as long as my other Abus Granit lock. Top level sold secure lock, blue LED on key is useful even if white would be more useful.
As you would expect for a very secure lock, it is quite heavy, but lighter than others in it’s class due to the bar design.
The key has a LED light, which is a nice touch, but the keys are quite large to have in your pocket. The price you pay for security I guess. There is a plastic card with the key serial number on it. I suggest you photograph it onto cloud storage in case a replacement is needed further down the line. ABUS will supply additional locks for your key as well, which is useful.
Amazingly strong lock and so light too. Very well sized and I feel safe leaving this on my bike. The bracket to install it to the bike is easy to fit too. Very please.
