The best wellingtons ever.
I walk my dog every day come rain or shine.
The recent mud has been a challenge but my Boots have been my Saviour.
The Aigle Parcours wellington boots are a very comfortable fit, they are sturdy and exceptionally good for walking long distances.
Great comfortable boots.
My last pair cracked on the top which was disappointing but I do walk 5/8 miles daily and they lasted three winters.
This pair doesn’t have a calf muscle extender which is a bit limiting for wearing welly socks.
Very comfortable and a great boot. I would highly recommend, especially for dog walkers.
Great boots
This is my second pair of Aigle boots, the first pair lasted 7 years. Very comfortable even on long walks with our dog.
Love these wellies
Previous pair lasted 6 years so certainly outlived other wellies I’d bought in the past. Very comfortable which is important to me as I’m prone to plantar fascitis in one foot. I can walk for miles with the dog in these. Fit is good on calf and foot.
Last pair lasted 8 years of walking everyday!
I’ve been walking my dog for a good 11 years. After going through several pairs of other branded names thought I’d splash out on these and I haven’t been disappointed. Are the most comfortable wellies I’ve ever worn. Would definitely reconed. My old pair lasted a good eight years so ordered my self a new pair.
These are sold as walking wellies with much better comfort levels. They are really just fairly basic, no more comfy than most, oversized expensive wellies. After doing so much research into a more comfortable option, I’m very disappointed. Had to put a size 5 innersole into a size 4 boot as they are so big but hopefully that will make them more comfortable!
Good quality, comfy.
Good fit in the foot, a little tight on the calves.
Very comfy. This is only my second pair in 3 years and I wear them every day so I expect them to last as well as the previous pair.
Stunning
These have transformed my sweetheart’s wet walks. His old Bogs boots were heavy, sloppy and with no grip. These, however, fit snugly (11/46), have great tread and are totally waterproof. I used to get annoyed at how slowly he walked with me but the lightweightness means he’s now gambolling ahead like a spring lamb.
I wanted a light 3 season welly, and these are that, but three points. The soles let me feel just a bit more of stony ground than I’m used to with winter wellies and Vibram soles. The uppers are very soft and flexi…I wonder how long they will last, and thirdly, they come about a half size larger than most other makers and are just slightly narrower than I was expecting to boot !
So if you walk on grass a lot, have standard width feet and like soft light wellies, buy these, but knock a half size off your usual order size.
Brilliant wellies but bit snug around calf
These are such comfy wellies as I have a pair so bought these for my husband. Unfortunately they are quite snug around the calf so have exchanged for the verso version so he can comfortably fit his jeans inside the calf!
Really comfy made in France not china
So far I am really pleased with them. They have replaced my ‘3 month old’ Hunter Boots which I recently discovered are made in China. The rubber perishes after a few months rendering them useless. The Aigle boot seems to be a much higher quality. I have awkward feet and have put insoles in them. I would say they come up a bit larger as these are my normal size and even with insoles there is still room for some thick socks
Well-made, high quality and comfortable, fits well length-wise but a little big around the heel.
A thick pair of socks fixes the heel securely in place. I had to buy a 7.5 (41) but I’m usually a 7 (40.5) but Aigle don’t appear to make the boots in this size. The 6.5 (40) would not have fitted length-wise so I had to make a compromise somewhere. Fits well around the calf and can easily fit jeans inside the boot and my calves aren’t particularly slender, they are average size. Good tread and warm with the thick socks. Arrived on time from France to the U.K. given it was only a week after Brexit so no hold ups at the border, fortunately.
For years I was a huge advocate of Hunter Wellington Boots. I always thought they were the cream of the crop and couldn’t be bettered. Sadly, since Hunter’s manufacturing was moved overseas, the quality of their boots has markedly diminished. The last pair I had cracked within 3-4 months and the soles were already showing signs of significant wear by that time too.
Consequently, I found myself in the market for a new brand of Wellington Boots and, after reading positive reviews, I decided on these from Aigle. They are brilliant! I have had mine for about three years and now my other half also has a pair. These are genuinely top quality boots that are still made by hand by craftsmen.
Mine are predominantly used for dog walking, so they are worn for several miles a day, every day of the week. They are very comfortable and perform as well after three years’ use as they did when they were new. Even the soles still look they did when I first got them … no signs of wear from the miles of walking in them at all.
At this rate it will be a good while before I need to buy a new pair of Wellingtons. but when that day comes, I will be going straight for Aigle again.
Best choice
This is best walking boots what i tried.
My feets is size 6 and wide in toes, and after reading reviews about how they fits too big i bought size 39 and they was too small!!!! Returned them and i bought size 40 what fits perfectly.
With extra insole and thick socks is comfy in cold weather, i walked for 6km in the 1 time and my feets feel good, no pain, no rubbing.
They boots is nice and soft, light, feets feel flexible and roomy. They have good grip and mud no stick to them. After a big walk they look clean.
If you want walking shoes in wellies this boots will be great choice!!!
Im not sure how long they will last but 2 years warranty helps and if you will buy silicone spray from home bargains for just 1 it will help protect the rubber.
Quality wellies. Buy them!
I purchased these wellies 4 years ago. They were half the price that they are now (I paid 62 for mine) If I needed wellies again I would definitely pay the full price. I am a size 5.5 and bought a 5. They are a snug fit but I’d you want to wear thick thick socks I suggest going up half a size. They are VERY well made. Durable rubber. Comfortable. Have a good solid heel and tread. Warm. Well worth the money. You won’t be disappointed. If you need sturdy wellies for your job or do lots of dog walking…get these. Forget the name of hunters which are now mass produced in China and if their feedback is anything to go by, now a load of rubbish. Forget wanting looking ‘chic’ in joules wellies and all those other fancy names. Buy these….you definitely won’t regret it.
Comfy but they come up big!
Been looking at these boots for a year as remember Good Housekeeping recommended them following a test. Needed to replace cheap Dunlop wellies used daily for dog walking over fields and through country lanes. There’s no denying the boots are supremely comfortable for long, daily walks. They also keep my feet much warmer. However they do come up very big! Not so much in the length from heel to toe but in the space around the foot. I’m a UK size 5 and based on other reviews ordered the size 5. However, as other reviewers have said with a second pair of thick welly socks they’re fine. My other point would be the colour, I ordered the green which looked almost black on the website, however in reality they are bottle green with a brown trim – wouldn’t have chosen this colour had I seen them in a shop – but then I wouldn’t have had the ease of having them delivered to my house either! Overall, I’m happy with these boots – wearing them daily in comfort, with warm feet and no blisters or aching back.
Just fantastic. As comfy as slippers, as flexible and grippy as trainers, as warm and robust as a good pair of walking boots, as waterproof as, well, wellies.
I’ve worn these about fifteen hours a day for six consecutive days in the Somme-like conditions of Glastonbury and didn’t have to think about them / my feet / soreness / blisters etc. at all. They served me brilliantly – I walked several miles a day through every different consistency of mud known to man and then felt fresh enough to dance till the early hours. The previous year my B&Q wellies nearly ruined my festival; my feet were in agony.
As well as festivals, my trusty Aigles have done me proud through hundreds of miles of forest/coast/trail walking and I’ve been totally dry, warm and comfortable the whole time. There’s really no need for walking boots in the winter when you’ve got these.
They’re expensive but I reckon they’re worth it and they’ll last years.
Other reviews said the sizing was generous and to order a smaller size, which I did, but they were way too tight. I then ordered half a size more than normal and they fit perfectly with thick socks. The exchange was no trouble.
Top Tip: Don’t bother buying the Aigle Swipol spray to maintain them. It’s literally just standard silicone spray in a different can for five times the price. You can buy silicon spray in any DIY or plumbing shop. It’s currently available in Screwfix for about two quid.
One other thing – I think people in Hunter wellies look like clueless city-dwellers with more money than sense, following the herd and paying through the nose for a brand name. Do yourself a favour and get Aigle instead – you’re paying for the craftsmanship not the label. Aigle and Le Chameau are classy!
EDIT [OCT 2021]. It’s now 3 years since I wrote this review and I stand by every word of it. These wellies are still in fantastic condition and still as comfy as ever. It’s actually been 4 years since I bought them and they’ve seen some pretty nasty conditions in that time and haven’t always been well cared for, but they’re showing no signs of giving up. Absolute quality!
EDIT [NOV 2022]. Still going strong! Every year these bad boys are averaging out at better value in terms of pennies per mile. Best. Wellies. Ever.

Better than Hunte
As a loyal hunter wearer of almost 20 years I was very disappointed with my last pair which split at the back, leaked and he heels walked down to the sole (of which the tread wore off all between Nov 17 and April 18 until I couldn’t walk in them any more. I read lots of reviews and these wellies seemed like a good purchase. I’m loving them already; the rubber is so supple, they’re a bit heavier than hunters but they feel sturdy rather than tiring on the leg and the sole is very supportive. It’s only been a few weeks but it seems that congratulations Aigle, you’ve got yourself a life long customer. Sorry Hunter, your poor quality has lost you a lot of money!!
Absolutely the best Wellington boots I have owned and I have owned a lot. They are warm, comfortable and very hard wearing. I have worn them most days for the last three years and covered thousands of miles in them. They have a better grip than my walking boots and with the anti fatigue cushioned sole your feet are fully supported and never get tired so I will happily wear them for a full day hike.
They do come up larger than your regular size – in fact a friend borrowed them for a walk and she is a size 6 – mine are a 4. This doesn’t bother me because of the design of the boot they don’t slip or rub and you can fit thick or welly socks in them however if you like your boots to be a snug fit I would suggest getting a size down.
After three years of constant use in mud, snow, ice and all weathers that the U.K. can throw at us they have never let me down but finally they have a small split down the back seam so I need to purchase a new pair.
Best boots ever, highly recommended!
The best wellies for walking the dog ever! I have used a pair for 2 years now. They are comfortable, grip well and warm in cold conditions. Streets ahead of anything from the UK. You could almost use these as walking boots for 5 mile hikes, they don’t give as much support as proper walking boots, but for winter conditions in the UK are more suitable. They will get sweaty after 5 miles or so, but up to that distance are superior. Tis a pity they don’t make the european size clear in the descriptions, just a rough table of equivalence. I take a size 8 UK and use a 42 boot. My other half takes a size 7 UK and uses a 41 size. I bought these because she was jealous of my ease in walking along muddy paths.
I really like these wellies
I really like these wellies, they are comfortable on longer walks and thick enough to keep warm in winter. The only downside is calf tightness, they are very snug at the calf which is a good thin in winter and near deeper water, but makes them a little too insulating for use on warmer days.
I still prefer my trusty Hunters as allrounders, but these are a much higher quality boot.
Edit – 2 years on now and despite daily use for stables and dog walking these wellies are still going strong. They clean up like new, no weak spots or issues in use, really impressed with the quality in comparison to my ‘trusty’ Hunters that are falling to bits with less than half the use these have had.
Have had a pair of these, with the ISO neoprene lining, for a year, I never get cold feet and they are really comfy for long walks with a great grip for muddy winters. The ISO ones are however rather hot once the weather warms up so I bought these non lined ones as a second pair. Same great spec but cooler and lighter. Don’t waste money on cheap wellies or poorly made Hunters. These cant be beaten. Best price I could find, considerably cheaper than the saddlers and country garden stores. Normal fitting but as with most wellies they are quite wide for my narrow feet so I use a thin ortho shoe liner. You only need the Vario style, with the adjustable calf strap, if you have a wide calf, otherwise the strap is just another bit to get clogged with mud.
Very comfortable, but ......
These wellies are the ones without an expansion gusset on the side. They are a tight, but tolerable, fit around my calves. The circumference is smaller than my basic Dunlop wellies. Next Time I might revert to the Vario version
I find the Parcours really comfortable for walking. But after 12 months of walking in them every day with the dog the rubber has cracked on the sides by the toe joints. I reckon they should last longer. This year I’m going to treat them with Swipol and see if that makes a difference.
Fab seaside dog walking wellies
These are my second pair of Aigle Parlours 2. I’ve worn the last pair for an average of 3 hours dog walking a day, 365 days a year for nearly 2 years. They have finally worn out. They have taken me through and over mud, sand, boulders, rocks, loose stone paths, gravel, boggy ground, ponds, rivers, sea, sea and more sea. They have outlasted all other sorts of boots that I have tried, even expensive walking boots – which the sea and sand kill off in no time. I’ve even converted my Dad!! They have been comfortable, durable and have only just started to leak in one place on one boot. Given that I’ve just about worn through the heel and sole, and they’ve had daily dunkings in the sea, I’m not miffed about one small leak after nearly 2 years of loyal service.
Christened my new Parcours 2 with a 7 mile walk – a bit risky for new footwear but they were very comfortable, very warm and not a single issue arose. I’m very happy with these boots they are well made and really nicely finished. I researched the other brands and came to the conclusion that Aigle seem well ahead of the competition especially considering their cushioned sole. manufacturing process and materials used; this also seems to be borne out by other users reviews. The price on Amazon was also a factor and these were not much above half of the RRP. The general consensus was buy a small size as the boots come up large. I’d normally buy 10 for a generous fit and 9.5uk for accuarte fit. These are a size 9 and I can get a thicker pair of socks on too. Bring on the mud.
Bought these, as well as the Vario Regular Parcours. Identical apart from the obvious expansion tab and the logo on the front. Hard wearing rubber and a good fit but… I also bought a pair of Muck Boots Chore for 72 (also Amazon) to compare…. and kept the Muck Boots. They were easier to put on and off, the neoprene at the top flexed to allow for jeans/different sized calves (no need for rubber tab), they were SO much more comfortable underfoot – like night and day, and warmer, and a slightly wider tread so I felt more steady when walking over uneven ground. Muck boots were also far more reinforced at the toe (not steel cap) and heel and all round the rubber felt thicker – like it would withstand sharp sticks poking when walking through undergrowth. Nice wellies, but am sending them back and keeping the Muckers!
Note photos are of Vario vs Muck Boots but the Vario Parcours are identical to the regular Parcours (the latter not having a side strap)
An impressive pair of wellies.
Before I ordered my Aigle wellies I spent ages looking at reviews of every make imaginable. I ordered my Aigle Parcours as they were highly recommended and seemed to fit the criteria I was looking for, namely….Hardwearing, comfortable boots for everyday use , a good fit to prevent my feet developing blisters, flexible rubber which allows feet and legs to flex and bend easily and …they looked good too. I had tried Hunter wellies before but found them very stiff and flimsy ( they split after a few months) . I walk miles every day with my dog and need reliable footwear as the places we get too can be incredibly muddy and boggy at times. I am very impressed so far as my Aigles are SOOO comfy ! The insoles are very spongy and I practically bounce along at times. I bought my normal size and can get a thick pair of socks on underneath. I hope my wellies last a long time because they are the best ones I have ever had.
RUBBER DOESN'T CRACK WITH WEAR!
I wanted to wait a while before writing a review as over the last couple of years I have gone through so many pairs of wellies. Cheap or very expensive they all began to crack between 3 weeks to 3 months of wear and I despaired of EVER finding another pair of rubber wellies that would stay waterproof (they always used to last, this seems to be a recent problem) and spent a lot of money on “100% waterproof” leather wellies which after a few weeks became only marginally more waterproof than you would expect leather to be anyway.
I’ve had these boots 7 months now, I wear them daily (usually for several hours) – dog walking, gardening, mucking out – still good as new. Very comfy to walk in and fit exactly as I expected (no need to order a bigger size to accommodate winter socks, they are roomy as wellies should be). The insole is quite padded so if you do manage to get them wet inside (long grass/sloshing bucket etc) they take slightly longer to dry out than most wellies but as they DO NOT LEAK this isn’t often an issue 🙂
Final update
Nearly 4 years on and my wellies have finally cracked. Just one little hole to be fair but a soggy foot isn’t much fun in winter so will be ordering another identical pair.
So I decided that I wanted some new wellies for Xmas for walking the dogs. I had thought that I’d get some Hunters but after reading numerous bad reviews on them, I looked around & came across the Aigle Parcours 2. In line with other comments, these are without a doubt the comfiest wellies that I have ever tried. I usually don’t like walking in wellies as they are hard under foot, you normally have to put on extra socks so your feet don’t turn into blocks of ice, the boot always seems in dig in above the ankle when your walking & unless you’re in ankle deep mud, the grip on the sole is non existent. Not so with these beauties. Sad I know but I’m actually in love with some wellies. The rubber is soooo supple, the foot bed is soooo comfortable & they’ve got super chunky grips underneath. I was unsure on the sizing as I’m a UK size 6 and they only come in a UK 5.5 or UK 6.5 so ordered both to be on the safe side. The UK 5.5 is actually an EU 39 which is (and always has been) a UK 6 in my books so they were the best fit. The only reason I returned them was that I went for the Parcours ISO version with the neoprene lining as I always have cold feet. For only a few quid more than Hunters, these are way more superior. Can’t wait until it’s muddy on my walks!!
Having tried Hunters and cheap garden centre boots, which all developed splits after about a couple of years, I decided to spend more for better quality. Tried Le Chameau first, but their ladies boots were too tight for my wide feet — thank goodness for Amazon free delivery and returns! Moved on to Aigle, and this unisex style, which is perfect. They are a good height (almost knee-high, ‘Bronze’ is a beautiful subtle dark greenish colour, and they are nice and roomy for my feet. In fact they are so roomy I wear them with an insulating insole and an extra pair of socks, which also keep my feet warm. I’m usually UK 7.5, but bought these in 7.
They have a good solid feel to them and the rubber feels much more substantial than that used by Hunters. Hopefully they will last and last!
Great wellies
This is the first time I have bought expensive wellies and it’s the first time my feet don’t hurt when wearing them! The fit and the cushioned sole are really marvellous. I wouldn’t go walking long distances even in these wellies but instead would use my hiking boots as they are much more supportive and hold your foot tighter. But for really wet weather and mud underfoot for modest distances these are going to be great. I like them.
The fit is ideal for me as I am a 10.5 and it is hard to get a half size in other brands. That’s why I chose this brand. The fit allows space for a thick pair of socks.
I have not tried any other brand of expensive wellies so I can’t give an authoritative review.
