Essential for home gym
Easy to see weight size. I do not use gloves and my hands can easily grip the weights without slipping. Also it is easy to clean using soapy water and a microfibre cloth.

If you’re like me, you probably bought these Amazon Basics Neoprene Dumbbells after realizing that lifting the remote control was the only exercise your arms were getting. Let me tell you, these little gems are the ticket to transforming your limp spaghetti noodles into rock-hard rigatoni.
First off, the neoprene coating is genius. Not only does it keep the dumbbells from slipping out of your sweaty hands like a greased watermelon, but it also doubles as a fashionable accessory. And the weights themselves? Well, let’s just say that after a few weeks of lifting, I felt the burn. I went from struggling to lift my grocery bags to confidently carrying ALL the bags in one trip (even the one with the canned goods). The neighbors now ask if I’ve taken up competitive shopping.
Also, they’re great for home security. Place a couple strategically near your bed—nothing says “don’t mess with me” like the sight of a neon-green dumbbell aimed at an intruder. Although if you’re anything like me, the burglar might get away while you’re trying to figure out how to untangle yourself from the yoga mat you’ve tripped over.

I’m a regular gym rat, who works out 4 times each week, so I tend to use professional, heavy-duty dumbbells. So, when my wife tasked me with getting her a set of dumbbells, I spent ages checking out the ones available on Amazon – before choosing these Amazon Basics ones. I do like that these are neoprene coated which provides the user with a super grip. I also like the hexagonal shape, which means there’s no possibility of them rolling across the floor. I actually found a slight deviation in the weight of each dumbbell (55g) but that’s not enough to make much difference to your exercise regime – and besides, I always advocate swapping the dumbbells over after each set to compensate for those differences (so there’s a free tip for you).
My wife and I are so impressed with this 2Kg pair of dumbbells that I’m going to order further sets of 3Kg, 4Kg and 5Kg. Given the quality, practicality, looks and reasonable price of these dumbbells, they’re a product I’m happy to recommend. Train Hard, Live Better!
They do the job
They are comfortable to use. They are easy to hold, and they don’t roll around on the floor.
That’s about all one can say – a 2kg dumbbell is a 2 kg dumbbell. Colour – a nice blue, but I wasn’t concerned about colour. The Amazon dumbbell does the job – why pay more for a so called “better” brand?
Good budget item
I now have the 1, 2 and 3 kg weights and they are all great. My only feedback for the 3 kg set is that the bar is thicker than the other two and doesn’t fit my hand as well. Maybe there is an expectation that as I get fitter my hands will grow too?
Other than that these are good budget weights and do the job.

Thank you for these hand weights. I am trying to get into shape in 2024 & I’m sure these weights will help me on my quest. They are easy to hold, they have a good grip, they aren’t too heavy & they are reasonably priced.
I love these. I need to keep nimble. These are easy to store away. I keep them within my reach so they’re near me when I need to use. Great for my arms. I’m just gone 70.
Easy to use and look good too
These are the first weights that I’ve bought and have been using them for several months. They are easy to hold, pleasant to touch and durable. Read to go up to next weights and will happily buy this brand again.
It’s great product for this price range. To be honest better than I expected for this price tag. Material is decent and feels nice in hand – comfortable too. Also hexagonal shape makes it much stable and they do not roll around – which is quite a good feature.

Good weights for a teenager starting exercise -very comfy and easy to hold, the covering is non-slippy neoprene. Great shape to get a grip. Bright colour so can identify the size of weights easily. Due to the shape they don’t roll around when on the floor. Can store and stack easily with other size weights. I purchased different size weights from Amazon Basics. Clean easily with a wipe over.
Easy to hold and good grip
These dumbbells are great, love the colour too. Even when my hands get sweaty you never loose your grip on them. Highly recommend them and would buy again, just heavier.
I bought the 4KG version of these dumbbells for exercise and strengthening of my upper body. I was unsure about what weight to start with. I am nearly 74 yrs. These proved the right choice. After a few weeks use there is a noticeable difference in my strength. My arms have never been particularly strong, but I would say they are stronger now than when I was in my 20s or 30s. So, anyone older, don’t give up in spite of what they say about losing muscle mass in old age. The dumbbells are comfortable to hold and provide a good grip. Paul
Great hand weights 🥰😃
I bought these to use as a “third hand” to hold down my quilting ruler when cutting fabrics.
I learnt about this from watching videos on quilting “How tos”.The heavy weight, 3 kg, stops the far end of the ruler from moving when I use a rotary cutter. Works a treat.
In retrospect, I think I would buy the 5 kg ones, if I were buying them now.
They’re also great for arm muscles building and as doorstoppers. Love the colour and the price.
They came in a small cardboard box and each was in its own plastic bag.
Highly recommend.
As Described.
These are a “Vanilla Product” in that the purpose and features are extremely limited. This product simply “does exactly what is claims on the Tin”. Appear to be of adequate construction with a good neoprene cover in a pleasant colour. As the Warner Brothers end card of otheir contains stated “That’s All Folks!”.
Good quality weights
Arrived securely packaged in cardboard. I have used a few times now for home workouts. They have a nice texture that is easy to grip. Will be happy to purchase more of this product in different weights if I want to change up my workout.

Comfortable and safe
I have tgese and they both look good and make me use them each week so what could be better.
When men think of getting big muscles with weights, it’s natural think that the bigger the weights the better the results. This isn’t so. With smaller weights you have to do more exercises but in doing so you can feel the pull on the muscles even more. And smaller weights are more versatile, for example you can extend and exercise your arms outwards, so exercising the shoulders. Being smaller they can be put away easily. For optimal results I recommend the 5kg’s.

I got the 5 kg version and use them daily for basic arm workouts.
The hexagonal design is great because it ensures that the dumbbells don’t roll away when you put them down. It also really helps if you want to use the dumbbells as handles when doing pushups; the dumbbells stay stable and it puts less pressure on your wrists.
The neoprene coating makes the dumbbells soft enough that they’re comfortable to hold for long periods of time. Even if your hands are sweaty, the dumbbells are easy to grip, which is great. Plus, the blue colour looks really in good in person.
If I were being nitpicky, my one complaint would be that these dumbbells collect dust quite easily. But that’s a really minor issue.
