My husbands had some of these boots for years so I knew they were a good brand. Bought some for my son this time. Sent for 11.5 and 12- needed the size 12 because of the narrowness of the 11.5. Always buy half a size up is my tip.

Really pleased with these boots, did a 15 mile hike on my first wear and feet felt fine, no blisters or rubbing points.
Feet stayed nice and dry throughout.

Used for walking my dog around local woods, hills and the North Yorkshire Moors. Very comfortable and lightweight. Have been waterproof so far with no problems.

Product description says black and red. They are light grey not black at all. I’ve only worn them one day but they are comfortable and very light.

Bought a few different types to try and returned these. Great boots though.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI’ve only received these today so this isn’t a review but a comment on sizing. My feet are EU 42.5/UK 8.5 and fairly wide. Reading reviews of these boots suggested that they are very slightly narrower and tighter than some other footwear, and I sometimes need arch supports below my shoe insole, so I bought size 9. I think they’re just right. With a mid thickness sock (and no extra arch support) I still have a bit of wiggle room in the toe box and the fit overall is snug and easily managed with the laces. I’m just padding about the house in them for the moment to get used to them so I’ll use them properly later and add to this.

These boots are excellent and really comfortable. I was worried when i first bought them due to people saying they were small/narrow. I have wide feet and struggle finding comfortable boots. I usually wear a 10 in normal trainers etc so went for a 10.5 and straight out the box they were perfect. There is more than enough room and they are sooooo comfortable.

Took a big chance and broke them in on a hike up Snowden with my old ones in a bag incase and my feet have never felt so good after! No rubbing, No Pinching. Just really comfortable and warm boots. Really good value for money with the current discount i may buy a second pair.

Wow what a boot. I’m a U.K. size 10 and ordered that size for a perfect fit. Lightweight comfortable waterproof. Just ordered a second pair. These will last much longer than my previous trainer/boots. Great price as well. Wore them yesterday for the first time no chaffing at all just like a slippe

Well made, look great and sold in half sizes to achieve the perfect fit. Made an excellent and well received gift for my husband.
Thank you for your excellent ordering service. Delivery was expected 2 days later, and arrived the very next day, in good time for Christmas.
    Thank you Berghaus and Amazon.

Bought these as my old Meindl boots had developed holes (after 20 years) . I wasn’t expecting the Berghaus to be as good as they are, comfortable, waterproof, lots of little touches that make them easy to put on and take off.
In short, brilliant, I am tempted to buy another pair to put away for when these shuffle off their mortal coil

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersWhen i opened the box i thought they’re were a great looking pair of boots. I’m normally a size 9 but one foot is ever so slightly longer than the other and almost all my shoes/boots area compromise once my feet warm up so i opted for the 9.5. I’ve never tried a half size before but i’m really glad i did.

After a long walk i do find the insole a little hard under the balls of my feet (my reason for 4 star comfort rating) so perhaps i’ll try and switch these out to see if it helps, they’re certainly not uncomfortable and this is a minor issue for me, it may not be for you.

What i really like is when its time to take them off, they’re so easy to remove, I’m guessing because of the way the ankle is designed. Just so much better than all my previous brands of walking boots and the difference was instantly noticeable.

I’ve walked early mornings through heavy dew on grass, through streams and muddy puddles and so far they’ve held up well with no leakage/wet socks. Coming down steep slopes i no longer get the toe pinch i was used to on my size 9’s so if this is something you notice too, the half size is well worth considering.

Overall I’m very happy with these and they’re my first Berghaus boots.

Love these boots very light weight compared to my other boots at the end of a long walk they don’t fell like two lumps of lead on your feet like my normal boots.

Tried them out yesterday with a 10 mile hike, through streams, up gravel paths over hills and over hills with no paths or tracks. These boots coped with all well. Had great grip, didn’t get wet inside when crossing streams. Overall well worth the money.

Best boots I have had. Re waterproof – great to date although not tested in really bad weather so far – I’m sure that will come. Past experience – always had great customer service with Berghaus so would always source outdoor wear from Berghaus where possible

Tried several brands of boots using Amazon Wardrobe and these were the most comfortable, and happily the cheapest of the lot.
I have worn them everyday for the past week to walk around the hills and beaches of North Devon. Absolutely no foot problems which is a change for me. They are just right size wise, no ankle nor heel rubbing, and no toe banging going down steep hills.
I have not experienced any wet feet yet, and have walked through streams and pools on the beachs. I suspect that many complaints in the reviews are because the boots are not cleaned and retreated properly after each walk. They won’t stay waterproof for ever. The manufacturer gives full instructions on how to look after them.
The only issue that I have found is that on one occasion on a steep slope through woodland, they were tending to slip alot, whereas my wife has boots with Vibram soles and she was fine.
    Overall though very pleased.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersMy old Berghaus boots finally died, and as we are in lockdown and unable to go and physically try new boots on, I thought it safest to try Berghaus again. My old boots were size 9, so I ordered the same size this time. Delivered quicker than expected, but unfortunately, despite being really comfortable, they were just too tight in the toe cap area with my normal walking socks on. Sadly I have returned these, and purchased Merrell Moab 2 instead, which were that little bit wider.

Golden Review Award: 19 From Our UsersMy feet stayed warm, dry and stable while wearing them on various longer and shorter trips. Went up a hill/mini mountain with some very slippery and cluttered surfaces, didn’t trip or slip once. Definitely recommended

Update after more than a year: Used them for probably 500km so far, including hiking through more difficult and soggy terrain. I’ve cleaned + treated them with waterproof spray multiple times by now and my feet always stayed dry. I don’t exclude that your feet might get wet if you continuously submerge your feet in deep puddles/wade through water, but unless you really do that (why?!), your feet will stay dry.

They are also still super comfy, and still supportive. Best hiking boot I had in my life!
